A really delightful place to eat bang in the centre on the square. And the Patron is rightly very proud of his Turkish lamb stew! Do ask about the amazing Bread and Butter pudding - it has a posh name I cannot recall but it is divine

We booked the private dining room for an annual family meal at The Galley last year, and we didn’t hesitate to book it again this year. Once again, the restaurant delivered on all fronts, and it was nice not to be the last people to leave, as we have been previously. Every course was superb, and Ugur and his team looked after us very well. No doubt we’ll be back again soon!

The Punchbowl Inn

20/06/2019: Excellent food and atmosphere, friendly staff. Small group with different steak cuts and cooks really enjoyed this venue . Also excellent choice of deserts and starters but too stuffed to try. Would recommend a visit for a relaxed filling meal.
06/07/2019: Dined in this public house last night and was most impressed. The food was delicious, cooked with flair. The menu wasn't extensive, which I always think is a good thing, but it was varied and caters for a wide range of tastes. I was dining with friends and all our plates were wiped clean! The baked camembert as a starter was excellent, served with fresh, French bread and a homemade onion chutney. The main courses of seafood pancake, beef pie, ribs and ham, egg & chips were delicious and for a filling dessert - have the cheesecake, although the apple tart with ice cream went down well. The staff were very friendly, most helpful and there is a wide selection of drinks behind the bar. A little off the main road, it's well worth taking a trip out, but I suggest you book, and according to the menu, vegans may need to advise the chef in advance.
