This place has come back after having to close when energy prices spiked. As ever, it is welcoming and the beer is well kept.

This is a great place to have an event or a large party. Proper family run venue with the wife running the kitchen and the husband running front of house with his daughter the food quality and decoration is unimaginable. The service is top notch. As a team they are always looking to help out every party member when assistance is needed. Good selection of drinks too. Lovely outside dining area with the option for outside catering as they have the facilities. Massive car park and a very quiet location close to the M3 just outside of Basingstoke. They really made me happy when I visited. Totally recommend this place.

Moored up out boat just outside the village. We went into the pub to ask if we could have a take away They said of course so the team cooked up our selections from the menu and we brought the back to eat on the boat. Thanks to the staff the food was delicious.

Yet another hidden gem of a pub tucked away in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Really, really good food and highly recommended. Good beer guide listing (2022) was also well deserved - two great pints!

Just had the most amazing, locally sourced Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Thanks to all the front of house staff and kitchen/cooks as food was as exceptional as ever and friendly atmosphere made this a perfect Christmas Day dinner.

Best kept dining experience in Hampshire and beyond - a pub with food and drink standards beyond those associated with pubs. Half a mile from Lasham Glider Airfield near Alton. Discovered post Covid shutdowns and justifies repeat visits on a day out travelling from our home in mid Sussex. Great team of true professionals, great service, and certainly not delivering chill cooked food prepared offsite - microwaved and put under the grill for effect! Comprehensive, creative menu using top quality fresh ingredients. Demonstrates the best of British.

What a surprise! We have spent a week sampling food all over London and Paris. So many great meals and experiences, however, I have to say that the best was had on a trip out of London when we stopped in at the Fur & Feathers! Everything we had was superb in presentation, taste, and quantity. Thank you, Phil of Hidden Britain Tours, for introducing us to this hidden gem. And a huge thank you to Fran for the warm welcome and the amazing food. Wish we could return frequently but will have to wait till the next time we are visiting England. We will be back!

We were in the area and they managed to fit us in(despite it being a busy Sunday lunch!). The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very relaxing and comfortable. All of the food came out quickly and was delicious. All round pleasant experience, they seemed to have everything running very smoothly. I cannot praise the staff enough, will definitely return.

All I can say is WOW ... taste of this food is amazing 👏... only a few pointers to take them to 5 stars... kids roast had no vegetables at all , we did ask and they never arrived , very pricey so would expect the delivery to be 100 % . Also no kids puddings choices.. which can end up very very expensive when you have 4 kids. So other than these points, great food and nice place , would highly recommend. But as times are getting harder people will expect to have moneys worth . And charging what they do for the kids not to have veg is not really exceptable also 2 lots of veg between 10 people is very poor for nearly a £ 20 roast .

We booked for a family meal for 10 people which is always quite difficult right accoommodate for most pubs. The pub is in a nice rural location and is very welcoming and friendly when you arrive. A good selection of drinks to choose from for all of us. The menu has a wide range of choice for adults and children and is reasonably priced. All the food which we had from the Sunday menu was outstanding and all good size portions. I had the lamb roast which was cooked perfectly as was the roast potatoes, stuffing and homemade Yorkshire puddings. The choice of vegetables was good and we had cauliflower cheese and daphinoise to accompany the mains. The dessert choice was varied and again reasonably priced. I had the ice cream which I chose chocolate and clotted cream ice cream. My wife chose the apple and gooseberry crumble and custard which was really nice. The service was friendly and consistent from start to finish both on the bar and at the table. We will definitely be looking to come back for food and drinks in the future.

Fabulous lunch with family. Lots of nice unexpected touches. Recommend the warm cheese starter ( 4 of us shared one). Home made beef burger delicious. And I've never had such great home made ice creams plus accompanying brittle and crumb. Don't forget the landlady's home made preserves on your way out.

Gracious hosts. Fish and chips were delicious and truly edible. The pork schnitzel is worth the drive. Locally world-famous, the restaurant came highly recommended by friends from Odiham.

Met a group of friends here Saturday evening. Great garden for groups. Blue cheese burger was excellent. We’re a bunch of roudy South Africans, but Sophie handled us very well. Even at 10.30 just before closing time when she had to make cocktails!

Visiting friends in the area and decided to pop in for a drink. Met by a rude arrogant stuck up old man who I believe was the owner. I left and spent my money elsewhere. The best thing this guy can do is close the doors and shut the place. Clearly hasn't got a clue about running a business

Been going for years, lovely owners, cozy and chill atmosphere!

Visited last Wednesday lunchtime and enjoyed a quality meal in every way. The venue very clean and tastefully decorated with a relaxed country pub atmosphere. Food excellent accompanied by crockery, cutlery and glasses aesthetically pleasing to the eye such details adding to one’s whole experience. My lime & lemonade the best ever, I could really see and taste the lime and not overloaded with ice but with a nice wedge of lime in it, in so many places this drink is served so weak you can hardly tell what it is. Our omelettes of cheese, gorgeous ham, and whole small tomato’s and herbs was a real treat for our tastebuds, chips tasty too. I followed with a small dessert of homemade mixed berry sorbet. Needless to say both that and the coffees we had maintained the standard. The only worry being the main was very generous and much as we enjoyed everything an option of a small plate would be appreciated as our appetites have disappointedly become smaller in recent years, also had that size been an option I’m pretty certain I could then have managed a full size dessert 🤣 but well done to everyone involved.

Booked dinner as a birthday treat with family because of good reviews and wasn't disappointed. One of our party has a severe allergy and the staff could not have been more careful and mindful of this which was much appreciated. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and it was lovely to sit out in the garden after a baking hot day. Thoroughly recommended and we will certainly go back.

Found this place buy chance on the way back to Kent. Excellent food excellent staff very friendly, beautiful garden area and excellent value for money. Will definitely be calling in again on our next visit to Hampshire

My son came to visit from London and we went for Sunday lunch. Very disappointing, we got two halves of a roast potato, two slivers of beef and a dish of vegetables enough for one person! At £16.75 a plate that is very poor. As we left my son said he was still hungry! We won’t be coming back! I should even rate at 2 stars except the quality of the food was good!

As a very foodie couple we really struggle to find places we enjoy eating in the local area. Pubs menus are either centralised or very similar to their competitors these days. So when we came across this rare gem of a pub we where so pleased! Fantastic home cooked food! Owners who bend over backward to accommodate you! Fabulous cocktails and a beautiful garden! 6 of the family met up for Sunday lunch and a few drinks. We were in the garden under a very large sun umbrella which kept us in the shade whilst a nice breeze kept us cool. The food was excellent. I had roast beef, it was tender and tasty, the vegetables were excellent too. I had pistachio and ginger ice-cream afterwards which is made on the premises. I have to say that it was probably the best I've ever tasted. We'll definitely be back as all the staff did a great job too. THANKS.

Had a lovely meal on Wednesday evening, we sat out in the garden which is nicely kept and great on a sunny day. Everyone I was with chose the fish and chips which was fresh battered haddock, chunky chips and a great homemade tartare sauce. I had the duck, which I can't recommend enough, the skin was crispy with a good level of doneness (could be more under but I'm not sure that'd appeal to the masses, it certainly wasn't over done though), the dauphinoise were wonderfully creamy and garlicky and just the right amount on the plate. The real star of the show however was the sauce, a fantastic balance between the meaty umami of a homemade thickened brown stock and the fruity, tangy slight sweetness of the red currants and orange. The sauce perfectly complimented the duck, veg and potato without distracting from them but can equally hold it's own as an element on the plate. If you like camembert then the baked Tunworth to start is a real treat. The local beers and ciders are good too. A gem of a place! TL;DR order the duck
