Call yourself a fish shop . Your food is proper nasty couldn't eat a thing cold looks days old chips rotten . Even My dog wouldn't eat your food . You need closing down . People trust me save your money or you'll be fuming 😤 💯

I’ve been having food from the Fryery for absolutely years. Had a couple of poor meals recently. Thought it was maybe a one off but just had food from there again this evening and it was awful. Batter on the sausage was awful, burger was over cooked and the chips weren’t very nice at all. A real shame. Won’t be ordering food from here again sadly.

Rated it down due other patrons not indicating. Quite intimidating for someone walking. (Not the business fault) otherwise amazing. Xx

Lovely food from this takeaway, with lots to choose from. They serve everything from trditional fish and chips, to pizza and kebabs. I'm particularly fond of thei donner kebabs served on naan bread rather than pitta. Price is fairly reasonable a d competitive with other local take aways.

Ordered via just eat tonight was craving fish & chips didn't fancy cooking after a busy day. Wish I never bothered, The only thing great was how fast delivery was. £8.95 each for two cod meals I've never had such over cooked batter in my life it was tough to eat it was more like a biscuit- There was more batter than there was fish and the fish itself don't get me started tasteless and dry no way is that fresh cod tasted more like frozen and thawed cod! The chips were okay and the mushy peas but the cod was an absolute disaster I don't know what happened there tonight. Extremely dissatisfied won't order fish here again.

We bought fish and chips , it was disgusting no taste , chips weren't cooked properly it was like they used cheap fat.Very disappointing will definetly not ever return . I recommend no one else uses this place either .

Had chips,jumbo sausage, fishcake, and onion gravy tonight, very disappointed, chips looked like they'd been warned up from afternoon, fishcake very dry, sausage was nice, and onion gravy was very nice, .If you read your posts will you rectify this please, and I would gladly give you another try

Absolutely shocking food, plenty off bones in there fish.

Chips tasted awful, old oil? Greasy fish. We barely ate any of it.

Food and service good. However had some bones in my fish, which I personally find off putting. Good value for money though

What can't I say ? Last time I ordered from here was last year and the food was bad then and cold ! So thought i would give it another go today , once again the food arrived 5 mins late ( which didnt bother me ) but the food chips and kebabs were cold not warm but cold !!!!! So once again meals went in bin ! They seriously need to sort this out asap ! I for 1 will never order from here again ( I was sorry I did as soon as I tasted the food ) oh I didnt even wint to give I star but had to out something cos wouldnt let you submit

Nice modern equipment and shop. Very limited parking outside. All 3 staff on duty involved in sorting a delivery problem delaying counter service and then got the order wrong.

Random stopover on our journey home - very efficient click & collect and friendly service too , haddock chips and mushy peas were all delicious, best batter we’ve had for ages!

Ordered my food at 5.30, it's now 8pm and I'm still waiting. I rang up the restaurant and the guy answering the phone couldn't have been less interested. The food is decent. Not worth a 2 hour wait

Food arrived cold and contained animal hair. Reordered another day and staff were very rude and unwilling to correct an error.

Wish I'd read reviews before I ordered from here. I will never eat again from here. Ordered 2 portions of fish & chips,,, batter was soggy and quite raw, chips severely undercooked. Ordered half pounder cheeseburger meal for my son, bun was soggy and wet, vile. All food ended up in the bin. If I could give this a zero rating i would but unfortunately you cant. My advice.... stay away, worst food I've ever eaten

Just ordered from here.... no wonder it's cheap,, had 2 lots of fish and chips, batter soggy and raw. Chips hard and undercooked. Ordered half pounder cheeseburger and chips for my son and it went straight in the bin. Buns soggy and wet, found black hair in the food... not lying got photo to prove it. Only nice thing about this is your delivery driver a credit to you. Nice and polite. I know I'll never order from here again . Just waste money for food to go in the bin.

Not the best first experience here. I opted for the regular cod and regular chips with a bottle of Pepsi Max. £7.10 which I thought was quite cheap. I can see why now. The cod although generally tasting quite nice was full of little bones. The batter was also completely raw. Incredibly soggy. The chips were pretty average but quite a few had eyes and marks. Quite disappointing as had heard good things about this place. My advice : go somewhere else.

Ordered 2 kebabs , chips under cooked ordered a salad with my kebab ( what would you call a salad ?? ) well mine was 3 pieces of cucumber and 1 slice of tomatoe !!!! Food was bloody awful , an I will never order from here again or recommended any one to order either , even kebab was awful , and didnt even want to give 1 star , but wouldn't let me post if I didnt pick

We used Uber eats and got two kebabs and chips , very nice, great portion size, and delicious too, quick delivery also

Used it twice (ages ago) for curried chicken off the bone and on both occasions had the trots the next day .

Service us very good and premises are really clean. A lemon wedge with the fish and chips and minty mushy peas would have gotten it 5 stars. But nonetheless would highly recommend. Also fish is not as greasy as other places

Very good food the kebabs will do two

Extensive range of food to choose from including fish, pies, chicken, pizzas, kebabs, curry and burgers. There are always several really good deals on offer such as any pie, chips, gravy and 500ml drink for a fiver or a large cod, chips, mushy peas and bottle of drink for just under £8. Portion sizes are also always really generous, even when ordering just a small portion of chips and the food is always really tasty and never too greasy.

Poor service food was an hour late wont be using them again

I’d give a 0 star rating if I could. My garlic chicken tikka kebab didn’t taste like garlic. The food looked like it had been thrown in the container. Garlic bread was burnt and was literally bread. Chips were freezing. Never ever ordering from here again!

It is rare for me to put a bad review as a Google Local Guide but I ordered the 16 x "Spicy" wings and was absolutely disgusted. Apart from the fact that they weren't remotely Spicy, I was misled as they actually taste like BBQ sauce. I was therefore robbed £5 as the restaurant refused to replace or refund the uneaten food as this is "How they are". Appalling Customer Service. Strongly advise against.

Went for some food when my daughter had friends over. Had a few bags of chips, a battered sausage, curry sauces and some fritters. The chips were horrible it tasted like they had been fried a number of times. Battered sausage was poor. Fritters OK at best. Portion sizes were good but so poor threw half of it away. Waiting time for chips was also like 20 minutes. Curry sauces were OK at best. This place it not the cheapest either. Top take-away never!

food was of a good standard, tasted fresh ! the chips were delicious and both burgers cooked to a good standard. only down side was the gravy was really lumpy. other then that was really happy with everything

We have orefered here quite a few times. The first few times it was the best chips and kebab we have tasted to be fair. Recently the place is shocking to tell you the truth. Delivery times are way too long, to be honest I reckon the driver is delivering ours on his way home every time we order which considering we pay delivery is bang out of order. The food the last time we had it was bad..the chips were pale and cold and the kebab was freezing Considering we were frequent customers with order of 14 pound each time I will not be ordering from here again which is a shame considering how nice it used to be

Ate here for the first time today and worse kebab ive ever had. I only live 5 mins away and the meat was freezing when I got home, it was also rock hard on the ends and like it had been hanging around for hours, as it had already been carved and lying on the side I noticed before he dished it up, also I asked for bbq and garlic sauce and got home and he had given me chilli and my mouth is now on fire. Also salad with your kebab? What salad, 1 tomato, few onions and tiny bit of coleslaw, will stick to golden bbq in Birchgrove, worth the drive! So awful I had to throw it in bin. Disgusting, never return again. I never write negative reviews but had to as I am so shocked.

Was a little bit sceptical about taking the risk to try a different fish bar than the usual one we normally use, really glad we had chosen this place, food arrived pipping hot, cod was chunky and broke into flakes, batter was crispy and freshly prepared, served mainly to restaurant standard and included all the necessary essentials i.e tartar sauce and a lemon wedge and a side of mushy peas. Would definitely order again.

order food at 7:50 and said would be here at 8:50 turn up about 9:15 and when the driver came to the door he gave me my food and first thing he said was I have no change lucky enough it was only 90 pence so I told him to keep it but what if it was more change due to me would I have not got it

food took fifteen minutes to get here and was piping hot. it was really tasty, try the Irish curry it's delicious. best chippy in Cardiff by far

Yummy food at reasonable prices. We managed to park almost right outside. There's a big menu on offer. You can pay by card. The only downside for us was the staff member who served us came across as quite miserable.

Ordered from this chip shop as we saw it on WalesOnline as being rated top 10 in Wales for best takeaway. Not entirely sure what food they were tasting but what we ate I would rate as coming under the worst 10. Chips were soggy and cold, my partners burger tasted like "cardboard" and we ordered a 2L bottle of Coke and they gave us 1.75L. Would definitely not recommend and do not agree that it is one of the top takeaways in Wales.

The food here is amazing! Taken me so long to find somewhere that does an amazing pizza base, probably won't order anywhere else now. Thanks fryery! Chicken was also juicy and full of flavour, really top notch.

After adding 15 minuets to my order so it was 1.3 hour waiting time, I tried to phone to cancel my order if they could t deliver within 45 minuets. (This was at 8.20pm on a Monday) I couldn't get through so just eat had to do it. Finally they did manage to deliver before 9.pm and the food was great, pizza a little under cooked but burgers and nuggets were lovely. I will order from then again.

Quite alot of food for the money. Told order was going to be 1 hour 15 mins and it was there within 20 mins! Delivery man was great. Only 2 downfalls were I was expecting a small pot of tartart sauce (pictured on menu) instead of 1 tiny sachet and the fish was a little too greasy for my liking. Other than that, great take away.

This chippie has recently won an award for one of the best takeaways in Wales but as you can see by the reviews I fail to see why. The chips were dry and not much salt and vinegar on them,the cod in batter was cooked fresh but soaked in oil. Considering there are another 3 chippies in the area I will try them instead.

The food was cold when delivered.... ordered food at 19:25 was delivered at 21:20... nearly 2 hours later.... will not be using these guys again...

I bought 1x 7" pizza meal and 2x 9" pizza meal. Sides were cheesy garlic pizza and wedges. We've all had 1 slice of our pizzas and left the rest. Absolutely disgusting food - which surprises me because we do enjoy meals from the Fryery. Pizza bases were burnt to a crisp. Cheese is vile. I'll stick to pizza go go. Delivery time was awesome. Arrived 30 minutes early hence the 5*.
