Lovely meal ,excelent service, highly recommended .good value .

1st meal not so good.my lamb was tough but burger was nice.2nd time the gammon was nice.nice pub but very small and a bit claustrophobic and very warm.too warm really. My partner ordered a burger the 2nd time also and I overheard a comment the owners sayjng" not burger again"! It shouldn't matter if that's what the customer wants

Excellent home cooked type food. The curry(s) are really good, never fail to make my tummy happy. Highly recommended.

On reading TripAdvisor reviews, we booked in advance, recommended, for Sunday lunch during a stay at a nearby Retreat. It was a great decision. A lovely traditional Inn offering a good choice of drinks and serving a great Sunday lunch, which was enjoyed by all. Great value and highly recommended.

The best Sunday roast I have ever tasted. Great food and excellent service. We will be telling our friends and family. And will surely be back. 5 stars for food and service. Quant and cosy setting.

Just been today for Sunday lunch. Fantastic food and service and value for money. The ladies enjoyed a very reasonably price bottle of Sauvignon and the bill for 3 dinners and the wine plus a coke for me the driver was fantastic value for money. We will be back. Cheers

A small country pub in a small village. The bar is tiny BUT the home cooked food is excellent and the welcome from Chris, Wen and the locals is always warm

A nice, historic pub but we weren't made to feel particularly welcome... we had different hand pulled beers and both were distinctly "tired".

Just had a delicious meal all four of us enjoyed, definitely recommend 👍

Called here for Sunday lunch after recommendations from friends. Got to say it was a warm welcome, friendly pub and the food was lovely. Nice pint of cider to and the roast diner and Mrs vegetarian pie were delicious. This was followed by cheesecake and treacle sponge for the Mrs, both were a delight to eat. To top it off a great price. Will be back again without a doubt. Many thanks .

Excellent food atmosphere traditional old pub lovely staff

Was recommended this establishment by a place we was staying at! We decided to go for some lunch when we got there was told they wasn't doing lunch.. there was no effort put in what so ever by I’m assuming who was the “owners” we stayed for a drink as we didn’t want this to spoil our afternoon, we was made to feel it was there home and we was intruding! Spoke to locals who said this is how they act with people who are not from their village! Sad really but rest assured we won’t be returning or telling anyone about the place!

Beautiful pub that served a superb Sunday lunch for me and my wife. We really enjoyed it and a good selection of real ales too. Very friendly staff running the pub too . Very highly recommended to visit for a lovely relaxing drink or to go to eat . The location is a little off the beaten track but well worth the effort to find . We will be certainly be visiting again

Been here for food a couple of times and really really enjoy it. Had the patè for starters and the mixed meat roast. Both excellent and plentiful and they even put an extra Yorkshire pudding on for my dog 😃 Hands down the best value around I paid £19 something for 2 courses and a large glass of Malbec. Also set in a lovely chocolate box type village with a few tables outside to bask in the sun ☀️

Stayed in Ysceifiog for 6 nights and ate here for five. Says it all. Home made food as it should be. Every meal was lovely and tasty and we tried a few. Sunday lunch, gammon, curry and pie of the day. The belly pork was to die for! Reasonably priced meals and drinks, friendly locals. Highly recommended

Nice little pub lovely little rooms. Felt like outsiders not really welcome just for the locals. Definitely was not made to feel welcome. One drink and out of there didn't want to stay any longer unfortunately. Such a shame

We took our elderly neighbour for lunch and as always a warm welcome from the time of arrival to departure,the fox is a traditional country pub in all aspects with open fires beams and great cast ales . The Sunday lunch was delicious along with the homemade lemon cheesecake. The pub is at the heart of this lovely village, and it serves it brilliantly, a great pub with tradition ozing in all areas,not my first visit, and definitely not my last.

Cosy country pub, good food, nice & warm with open fires.

Went tonight the food was very good and very reasonably priced. Two course which I had began with Cheesy Garlic Bread wow so much I had to leave one of the 4 pieces. Had belly pork as main served with mash potato veg and gravy. Very filling so no room for dessert ! Will return but it be main first then one of many dessert on offer.

Traditional village pub Friendly locals and lovely friendly staff.

Visited today for a birthday meal with family. No kids option on Sunday just carvery with smaller portions. We asked about nuggets and chips was a blatant no not even a sorry. Ordered coke was served a diet version of something that was horrible. Had the goats cheese tart, did not contain goats cheese it was cheddar cheese. No gravy served on the potatoes and veg served with my tart had to request it. No one checked in mid meal to see if everything was okay for us. Sorry to say but we won't be back.

Our first visit to the Fox Inn in the Flintshire village of Ysceifiog. It's a traditional pub and a firm favourite of CAMRA real ale drinkers. There was a good choice from the menu and the service was unrushed. The food was piping hot and tasty as well as being reasonably priced. The hosts were welcoming. We were well pleased and will return soon for Sunday lunch.

Nice old pub with great Welsh Lager - bit confused with the food set up - they say served between 5pm & 9pm - we turned up after six and were told maybe we could have something around 830 if we wanted to hang on!?? Got the impression unfortunately that visitors to the area weren't particularly welcome because they wanted to look after the locals- shame because we were told the food was good!

Lovely meal, good portions and nice home made chips. Will definitely go back. Old fashioned feel making you go back in time.

We went for a family meal to the Fox; it was the first time I had ever visit here and it certainly will not be the last. Perfect doesn’t do it justice. The inn has all the character and bags loads more that you’d want from a traditional inn. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was outstanding- local sourced, high quality food. I didn’t think it was possible to have that real homely, high quality food like ever again in such a commercial world. The Fox has well and truly restored my faith in genuine, fresh and local produce. Portion sizes were spot on. The landlord clearly takes pride in the beer he serves. I was lucky enough to have had a couple of pints of Wainwright’s; liquid gold, pure liquid gold. The is thing I would change or even dare suggest improve from the experience I had this evening. If I could give 10 stars on here I would. Thank you to all at The Fox.

Had a great Sunday lunch here earlier this month February 2022, have visited here several times now and always happy with the meals, friendliness and such a quaint little country pub, book so you don't get disappointed.

Old and quirky. The staff and one customer were on a sponsered silence as no one talking. When we tried to strike up a conversation in the tiny bar, nope it was like pulling hens teeth!

If you’re looking for good pub food in a traditional setting, this is it. Old country pub set in a beautiful village 10 minutes from Mold. Excellent selection on the menu, good service and value for money. Couldn’t fault it. If you’re planning on visiting for food on Friday & Saturday, I would book in advance.
