The Fox Inn in Harborough

Came here on a Thursday night as four friends. The place is above a pub and it appears that you have to buy your drinks downstairs before heading up to the restaurant. Service was good and so was the food. Good prices too so I would recommend.

There is a secret Thai restaurant behind the pub, it's a hidden gem, you buy your drinks in the pub and take them upstairs with you.

Just popped in for a drink after a good day at Towcester greyhounds, the drinks were good and reasonably priced and we had some good friendly banter with the bar staff, recommended.

Decent pub in Lutterworth - easy access from M1. Parking little tight with few spaces but okay. Nice selection of drinks at bar and friendly staff. Plenty of seating in standard pub atmosphere. Food available from truck outside, which was tasty fast food too, though took bit of time to prepare. Nice pub overall.

Lovely looking pub with open fire and great selection of beers. Called in for a couple of drinks having a spare couple of hours in the area. Left swiftly after just one drink. Disappointed to see the landlady/bar manager did not have the scruples to pick up a customer loudly spouting offensive racist comments about Fiji rugby players. Another customer attempted to reason with the racist customer but landlady stood next to racist, clearly a welcome regular, totally complicit. Shameful! Left with very

Thank you for your hospitality and support of our family in our time of need. When we get things right. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. The outdoor beer garden is clean, comfortable, and warmed by outdoor heaters.

Excellent Sunday lunch - well cooked and plenty of it! Well kept pint of Landlord went down a treat.

Very reasonably priced - food cheaper than at most Thais, drinks very cheap as you get your own from the (reasonably priced) pub below. Food not good at all. Had the jungle monk fish curry and yes, menu says it is eaten by poor Thais who can't afford coconut milk, but I didn't expect a clear, watery and tastless sauce with what looked like the trimmings taken off the fish loin steak. Noodles were among most tasteless I have had. Floor under our table needed a vacuum clean and table was sticky. The dark, narrow stairs are not for anyone of less than average fitness and the grubby stair carpet is unwelcoming. Worst of all however was the ante-room to the kitchen downstairs which you pass on the way in and out. The room seems to be used to store food and looked dirty, with rubbish on the floor. Beware very limited parking, possibly 8 spaces. There may be some spaces on the layby opposite, but if not then it's some walk to the town centre parking.

Both pints of Real Ale of the only two that were on, not up to GBG quality pints. Was close to returning as they were close to end of life. Shame because previous visit Beer was very good...

Very simple Sunday lunch menu, no starters and just 3 puddings to choose from, but absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely Sunday roast. We walked in on mother's Day having not booked at 2pm Initially we were told that the restaurant was fully booked but the landlady said that she thought there had been a cancellation. After a very short wait we were told that there was room for the four of us and once we were seated we were treated to a beautifully cooked Sunday lunch. The choice included mini sunday lunches for those with a smaller appetite. Having chosen the pork, beef and vegetarian options we were not disappointed. The food was well cooked and tasty. The terndersweet broccoli was lovely and the roast potatoes tasted almost naughty! Chapeau to the chef and serving staff.

Good traditional warm pub. Traditional ales are as good as they get.

Be a good pub if it wasn't for trucks vibrating the table and walls

Went for a catch up over Sunday lunch with family. Food was lovely, couldn't complain,.prices for drinks and food v reasonable. Had a great afternoon

This is an old pub and small but seems to attract the locals and has regular quiz nights which is popular

Amazing amazing food, the thai food was so good. I can’t rate this place highly enough! I’ve been staying in Lutterworth for a few weeks and will be a lot in future for work, having not found another decent restaurant yet in Lutterworth I will be booking hotels based on proximity to Sawasdee Thai!!

We’ve been coming to the Thai restaurant for many years now and it’s one of our favourite restaurants. I’m genuinely shocked to read bad reviews as we have never had a bad meal here nor received poor service. The food is beautiful. The value for money is brilliant and the service is always of a high standard. Looking forward to coming in a couple of weeks!

Called in for drinks only the beer was good, a very friendly pub. Its a bit out of the town center but worth a visit.

Atrocious customer service!!! We called up to book for an hours time, but the phone was not answered, so we googled for any other phone numbers and called the pub downstairs where I spoke to a really lovely barman, who took all my details, paused the call while he went up to check with the restaurant, came back after a few mins and said we were all booked in. We arrived and went upstairs where we were greeted by what I believe is the owner who proceeded to tell us in a raised voice (like he was telling off a child) we hadn’t got a booking, we were wrong, however he had got spare tables so could cater for our dinner but we shouldn’t trust the pub downstairs as ‘they are ‘liars that keep doing this to me’…. A little shocked we sat down at the table, and started looking at the menu. A few mins later he came over to our table, where we were expecting him to apologise for his outburst, but how wrong we were… he came back to have another go… he didn’t care that everyone in the restaurant was looking in disbelief at what he was saying! He then left to go and have it out with the bar staff downstairs! Once we had regained our thoughts after the onslaught we decided our evening was not going to get any better with him serving us, so we left. I genuinely believe the barman did check, but with one of the other restaurant staff, who I presume are petrified of the owner so didn’t mention they had ok’d the reservation. On our way out I spoke to him very calmly about the way he had shouted at us and that was the reason we were leaving, but he just didn’t care as he was so furious!

What a cracking little pub on the outskirts of Lutterworth. Only stopped for a drink but both real fires burning and a really lovely local atmosphere. Outside space is a treat too!

A convenient Car Park outside front of Pub for approximately 12 Cars. There are Toilets inside. Very interesting building inside. There is a covered area at the back of the Pub space for say 30 people.

What a fantastic afternoon. Wonderful Sunday lunch included old school prawn cocktail to start. Delicious Followed buy the choice of beef, pork and gammon. I had all three. With all the trimmings. Wonderful red wine. The landlord and his wife were more than fourth coming. And even treated us to a discounted bottle of red. Highly recommended. Thanks so much

Took my Dad here for Father's Day, and it was the worst meal I've ever eaten. So embarrassed. Social distancing didn't exist, place mats were shared between tables?! And not cleaned after use. The food had obviously been microwaved, vegetables were not fresh and were frozen. No vegetarian or vegan options. Honestly, it was so bad we laughed so much, it was like a comedy sketch. I would've refused to pay, but I actually felt bad for the staff and owner that they thought this is a viable business.

We visited as a group of friends, we had to order drinks on an app which was a little awkward but we managed! We ordered our food, which came quite quickly and was amazing! We had mixed starters and I then had spicy beef stir fry! Wow!!! Not the cheapest night out but well worth it!

Excellent friendly pub with large outdoor space.

My husband and I visited The Fox Inn on the first day of drinking outdoors. What a wonderful welcome from hosts Ken and Pat. Felt very covid19 safe. Well organised service to tables.

Another excellent meal at the Sawasdee at The Fox Inn. Restaurant was 'Covid Full' - ie a few people well distanced. The Round App system for drinks worked very well and service was excellent. Food as ever was great and prices are very reasonable. Staff were friendly and attentive. In these difficult times I hope they survive lockdown and return to prosper. Another return visit will be a definite when we have defined the new post covid normality. Talking of which - this place is ideally located for a pre Kilworth House concert or theatre meal. Can't recommend it enough. If you can't wait - use their take out service!!

We were the only people in Sawasdee, the Thai restaurant above the Fox on this Wednesday night but had an enjoyable meal with authentic flavours. A well decorated room and drinks brought up from the pub below complemented the food and we'd happily go back.

We call in here at least once every couple of months for Sunday roast. It’s always superb. Can Never fault.

First & foremost this is a good local traditional pub, with (may I politely say) room for improvement. My feedback is two fold: Bar: No non-alcoholic beers on offer (only your usual soft drinks fare. Come on guys with so many non-alcoholic bottled beers on the market please consider stocking one for us designated drivers! + was told “no sorry” to my cup, or pot of tea request. Toilets: No toilet roll and no hand soap (only a random squirty hand moisturiser). Fingers crossed these are addressed upon our next visit 🤞

We visit The Fox in Lutterworth fairly regular and really like the pub, very friendly, good selection of drinks and great Sunday cheese board! Such a shame the same can’t be said for the Thai restaurant! We decided to give it a go after we had popped into the Fox on our way home and decided to get a take away. We picked what we wanted, mixed starter for 2, prawn pad thai, chicken masamam curry and garlic rice. We were told it would take an hour which seemed a long time but were happy to stay and have another drink. Getting home is when it all went massively down hill, the starter was just a mess of fried food, the pad thai was congealed, smelt horrendous and tasted even worse and the masamam curry smelt awful and the chicken in it tasted off! The rice was also a congealed block! If it had been earlier in the evening we would certainly have taken it straight back, instead it all ended up in the bin. It blows my mind that they had the nerve to serve food this bad, really really awful. I absolutely would not recommend the this place! Avoid!!

Ate here on a night away with my wife staying at the nearby Kilworth House. There were several other parties in on a Tuesday evening in August but were seated and served without a problem.We were a little uncertain of how to get in and used the external stairs. When we left we noticed that the stairs from within the pub looked more like the “main” entrance, but it didn’t seem to matter!The food was good, massive portions, and not too greasy. We are perhaps a little spoiled with an outstanding Thai restaurant near where we live. We enjoyed our meal though and found the pricing very reasonable ~£45 for 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks, inc tip.

After a performance at near by Kilworth House we decided to try hear to eat. The restaurant is small so especially for a larger group booking would be advised. They did, just, manage to accommodate us as a group of 10. As the restaurant is upstairs and I could not see a lift disabled access may be a problem. The food was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, just watch out for the decorative chills which one of the kids got ahold of and we had to administer emergency water!I would definitely return.

We had been to the Fox before but didn’t know they did Sunday lunch until we saw a big board saying so as we drove by the week before. Good excuse to call in mid week and book a table for two. What a lovely surprise. Choices of meat, lovely gravy, choice of veg and home made Yorkshires. I thought I’d miss my mash and turnip but braised celery and creamy cauliflower with beautiful carrots made up for it. Really tasty served in a friendly atmosphere with welcoming staff all round. We will definitely call back when next in the area.

Popped in here on a Sunday afternoon, friendly staff & lots of locals around the bar - all happy to chat to & welcome new visitors. Rip roaring fire was most welcoming on a dreary afternoon. Roast potatoes, pickled onions & a selection of cheeses on the bar as "nibbles".

This is a nice bar I have been here many times. The pub gives you a warm welcome by the staff. Very good priced I strongly recommend.

My husband and I regularly ate at Sawadee when they previously resided in Hinckley!. We were devastated when they moved out, but they’d explained that they were moving not too far away - (Only Lutterworth) and so we promised to revisit - So...we go when we can!.

Went to the fox for the first time, my parents have lived in lutterwoth for 30years.can't believe we have never been before,the best food and service we have ever had,fantastic hosts so warm and helpful,the menu was to die for and the oriental garden at the rear has to be seen,can't wait to return next Thursday,simply amazing pub and restaurant

Quite a nice little pub, if you don't mind gore and porn on the TV while you're out for a cosy drink with your partner. I'd hope it was a one-off, but don't feel inclined to go back. That was horrible.

The Thai restaurant is part of the pub. You go upstairs to the restaurant. The food was ok but I’ve had better. The service wasn’t the best. The waitress didn’t know what the mixed starter consisted of and when bringing my bottle of wine not only didn’t pour but didn’t open the bottle. Could do better. Not sure I will return.

The Sawasdee Thai restaurant is part of the pub. It serves authentic Thai food served in a cozy environment. Portions were huge and supremely tasty. The Thai owner is very friendly (he visits each table to check on level of satisfaction). Definitely worth a visit.

This pub has the feel of a friendly, welcoming pub. No meals on when we visited ( Boxing Day) but hey ho it's a really nice place to visit. So close to the travel lodge for anyone staying there.
