We had a lovely lunch with friends. Service was very good. Very nice menu lots to choose from. We definitely go back again.

Brilliant, always offering recommendations. Warm, friendly, home from home

Had a family lunch here today as our grandad Ed is a regular. Place is lovely staff friendly and helpful. We sat in the private room for lunch all our food was fantastic. I had a cheese and mushroom omelette was lovely. Sat back out in the main bar for some desert again all was very nice lovely way to spend some family Time we will be back again

Very cozy place with delicious food.

A real hit and miss experience. To begin with the meal was booked a fews days in advance and, upon arriving on time, our table wasn't ready - which is not too much of a put-off but when we were lead to the table round the corner there was only one other party in there dining and all the other tables were empty! Bit odd. Served initially by a very polite young man and with some nice tunes playing in the background with some nice lighting too, so at this point all seemed very promising! On the subject of waiters/waitresses - there were many. And every visit to the table was someone new - although we did of course see the same faces now and again! This of course makes it hard to tip as you don't want to upset the others! Anyway, back to the food/drinks/service. My nieces ordered 2x hot chocolates... the presentation was very impressive we all thought - however, the taste not so! They said that they were VERY watery in taste and not very chocolatey at all - and they didn't have colds either! So not the best of starts for them! For me, I couldn't complain - a lovely pint of Courage Best poured to perfection. But again, my other guest wasn't so fortunate either... ordered an orange JUICE - and she ALWAYS, wherever she goes, orders an orange juice... this was no orange juice! It was orange squash and we all tasted it and agreed it was nothing like orange juice. Ok, onto the meals. Nieces had the cheeseburgers and they came up very well presented once again. They said the overwhelming taste was of pickles and they couldn't massively taste the cheese - but overall they said they were fairly happy with them. The next gripe I'm afraid came with the other 2 meals... my other guest ordered a child's meal of Roast Pork Sunday Dinner and I ordered the full adult version of Roast Lamb Sunday Dinner. Firstly I must say that the staff accommodated my guest as she wasn't a child but she is not a big eater - so fair play there. However, when the meals arrived, the only difference in size/quantity between the two dinners was ONE roast potato!! Oh, and a crisp £10 difference in the price! Why oh why didn't I order the child's version myself, I thought! But being fair as you always must be on these reviews, I found the actual taste of my Lamb Roast Dinner to be absolutely superb! - lovely tasting lamb and roast potatoes and vegetables and yummy gravy - well done chef! Afters? Yes indeed, lemon sponge and custard, not bad... and 3 scoops of ice cream, very nice! And so we move on to our last gripes of this review. I asked one of the many waitresses we had to double check that we were served an orange juice not an orange squash. She said she would - but never returned again!! Bad really. And then last of all, when I asked for the bill, my guests and I noticed that the price of the ice cream was down as £7 something and yet the price of the ice cream on the menu (in our memory as all menus had been taken away) was £6 something. I believe it was the manageress or main waitress that came over and addressed the issue by saying that the chef said that the menu prices (for the ice cream) were old and should have been updated!!! - again, bad isn't it! And that the price we were charged for the ice cream was in fact the correct price. It's lucky the rest of the prices were correct then... or at least we hope so!?! I addressed the issue of the orange juice too whilst she was there with us... 'It was me that personally poured that drink', she proclaimed, 'and it was definitely orange JUICE not orange squash!!'. What happened to, 'the customer is always right' from my youth?! Although I wouldn't say her manner was overly understanding and considerate she did say that she would take the orange off of the bill - which she did. But the fact that she never took the pound off for the ice cream too and the fact that we had multiple waiters/waitresses serve us and the fact that one of them never returned when questioned about the orange juice... no tip was left. So it's a 2 n a 1/2 out of 5 from me, but have 3 stars for the discount!

Nice and cosy, food was delicious, especially asparagus wrapped in pancetta!

Grace was a great bartender and help. The food was delicious and the drinks were on time. She helped me with my drink decisions as well as recommended a few gins as well

Thanks to all the staff for the good food and friendly service we had at the wake of are beloved mum a mother-in-law and nan.

Nice pub and drinks however we received some disappointing meals. Chilli seemed as if it was microwaved with only about 4 mouthfuls and the rest being rice, we did bring this up and they took the price off the bill. We also had some very dry chicken in the chicken burger and some over cooked vegetables. You would expect a much higher quality given the price of the food. Would go back again for drinks but would avoid the food.

We had lunch here today, the food was exceptionally good, although there was no nut roast available, I had the roast with veg pie super tasty, 2 had the meat trio roast and one had burger and chips. All were perfectly cooked. The deserts were equally good and large portions. Georgie was a great host and the waiting staff were very polite and efficient. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

We booked for our anniversary meal out. The meal was either frozen food, deep fried. or frozen food microwaved for too long. I had to leave it for 5 minutes to cool down before eating. My wife's meal looked like a really quick Wednesday night tea. No care or presentation at all. There were children playing hide and seek around the restaurant tables. Men standing at the bar watching football, but being really loud, swearing inappropriately and uncontrollably. Our waitress had very long hair not tied back. She continued to switch it around even while serving our food. The whole experience was terrible. Will never return.

FANTASTIC FOOD & STAFF I’m always looked after when I get there. My first meal and it was fantastic. Be nice if they could add one extra vegan recipe, but my friend had the Thai noodles with veg. I had the breast of chicken, creamy mash & asparagus wrapped in ham, yummy highly recommended. No room for dessert though, next time aye💕

Tucked away in the east of Maidstone is this large pub/diner. The food was typical pub grub but better cooked than most. Not sure about the decorations; I got the feeling it has lost some pub charm.

On this occasion, the food was just okay. It was generally well presented, but felt pre-prepared and heated up, rather than cooked to order (A common strategy in many places I'm sure.). Some vegetables were overcooked, and the chili con carne just didn't feel freshly made. The Thai stir fry was good. The pana cota was very good, the ice cream was, icy. The waitress we had was under training, but was careful and attentive, and did very well indeed. The general atmosphere was very pleasant. We would try again.

Just like to say a Big thank you to all the staff at The Fox and Goose for making my Dad's 90th Birthday lunch a memorable one 😀 Dinner for 15 was amazing 👏

Love this place the food was very tasty and warm and plenty of it, the Bear fosters long and cold Just right,all together was a great place to eat and drink, and the venue it self Was and still is fantastic Well done to everyone who keeps it that way

Old family favourite for a Sunday Roast, with great service and staff always friendly...

Nice friendly pub...food good...been quite a few times...not disapointed

Firstly I was disappointed in that the pub did not consider the health and safety of its customers. In order to get to the entrance to the pub it was like walking on an ice rink. No salt had been put down and no effort had been made to clear snow and ice from outside the pub. There was snow which was now solid ice all around the pub so you could not avoid and there were no gaps in the ice! I am quite fit and young and had trouble so I would have been concerned if older customers visited. If I owned the pub this would have been a priority. The food was hot as it should be and I had some lovely soup and a chocolate torte which was nicely presented. I wasn’t as keen on the lamb hot pot as it was very fatty, not much to it, bit bland, not much taste. . My main issue was that I am a celiac and have to have a strict Gluten free diet. The pub’s Christmas menu had gluten free GF options but it became clear that the staff did not understand the importance of Gluten free eg food has to be prepared separately from other food to avoid contamination because my dessert was served to me with evidence of breadcrumbs from the cheesecake that my friends had been served. When I mentioned it to the staff the lady apologised and said she had used the same knife so she had used the knife she had used to cut the cheesecake which contains a biscuit base which was not gluten free so must have contained gluten in the biscuit base. So this proved that although they serve Gluten free food the staff seem to be lacking in knowledge about the importance of preparation of the food but maybe they will consider some training in this area so they can give celiacs some confidence that the food they prepare is safe for them to eat. The pub appeared to be a family run pub and the staff were friendly but sadly I won’t be returning and also felt it was a bit overpriced for the quality of food you got. I don’t think their standards of cleanliness are up to my standards either as I had dried food stuck to my cutlery and my friend wasn’t too impressed with the toilet facilities either.

We visited for a quiz night. The place was very clean and tidy, staff were polite. The quiz was only £3 per person but to be honest I would rather have paid £5 per person and then the "sandwiches" provided could have been more than 1/4 per person. I need to go again on a non-quiz night to give another rating.

Long story short. We turned up en mass thinking it was all booked. It wasn't and it wasn't their error. Nevertheless, we were fantastically accommodated and looked after. Almost 40 of us! Thank you so very much xxx

Excellent pub and restaurant so friendly and the fox's den with it's log burner makes a brilliant outdoor area. Will visit again soon as it's hard to find a decent pub these days.

The fox and goose establishment is a lovely and welcoming place and I would recommend any one visiting the Bearsted or surrounding area to stop by and experience it for your self.

First visit to this pub very wellcoming friendly dog friendly too!

A lovely meal with friends on a Thursday evening.....always a reasonable choice of menu and good quality pub food with large portions. Also catered very well for gluten and dairy intolerances - thank you for a rare dessert treat, as I usually miss out. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Hope to return soon.

Lovely Sunday lunch with my Dad, food great, staff very helpful and friendly... definitely going back.

Ordered online for scheduled delivery, charged for the food. When the delivery time came, they simply rejected the order. Shan't bother again. Update: Fair play to the pub, they responded (very quickly), and explained it was a deliveroo issue (which they no longer use) and that I should not have been able to order via them. Shall go and get some food with them next week and hope it gets up to a 5 star. Thank you Hannah for quick replies :)

A burger where the (end and brown) piece of lettuce was used to cover the burger should have given it away. Tiny, overcooked beef, burnt bun, micro-thin tomato, drowned in burger sauce. No onion, no gherkin etc... Chips added, no coleslaw, no finesse: can't be bothered. AVOID.

Lovely place to have a casual lunch

Had an excellent meal here today with my sister and partner. They had meat roast and I had the nut roast. The meal was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was spotless. Couldn’t fault the meal the pub or staff. The prices were very reasonable. I’ll definitely be returning very soon 😊

Stopped here just to grab a quick bite to eat with family. The garden was lovely and we ordered lite bites to share. The pork belly in a teriyaki sauce was so good we asked for the recipe. 😋

Great welcome, nice staff. I got a chicken burger and it was uncooked. After complaining they brought me a cooked one which was ok but bland. I gotn10% off bill but I felt this was unsatisfactory for such a risk. The food was adequate but not enough for me to return with such health risks. Great staff but food let it down.

Very disappointing meal. One of the starters came out warm on top and very cold underneath..Obviously not cooked fresh. Two of my guests ordered the burgers. They were both disgusting, Soggy bread, served on well used wooden platters. Chips swimming in fat. McDonalds Burgers are...

My husband main course was very good (fish pie). My hamburger dry, nothing special. My children got hamburger and fish finger (1 only in the main course longer than a normal one, double the size). My son's hamburger was dry as mine. Drinks (gin) were good although they got confused about which one was what. The service has been slow. We requested the dessert menu but we left before getting it because it was taking too long.

Came here today 27th Nov for a family Birthday lunch. Food was served promptly and all tasted delicious and was served hot. Staff were friendly. Temperature in restaurant just right and seating gave plenty of room even though there were 15 of us all together....

So disappointed..went for the first time and had roast for my birthday. The starter was lovely but the roast dinner was dire. There were 2 slices of meat,2 roast potatoes that were roasted to within an inch of their life and rock hard, one tiny Yorkshire pudding and enough veg for 2 people, there were 4 of us. We asked for more veg some different potatoes..total bill was £120 and we only drank coke. No one came over to apologise and the price was extortionate, when you pay those prices for a Sunday roast you expect the best. I've been other pubs for Sunday roast in the area, and they have been half the price and much more enjoyable. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Would have been nice to be offered a free drink but nobody seemed to care😒x

We went to lunch on a Friday and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I asked for something that wasn’t on the menu and they checked with the chef and we’re able to accommodate this. They are gluten free friendly and the indoors and outdoors...

Fab day out with young kids. Water fountain park great fun. Cafe needs a bit of updating. Pizza sales would be better if a better dough is used not scone type. More kids meal offering. Train excellent- a must!.

Staff were amazing! They'd laid on a lovely funeral reception in their large pergola area. After a while at the pub, the heavens opened with driving rain and hail stones for a couple of hours. The staff were so, so helpful - they encouraged us to stay sheltered for as long as we wanted, did many trips through big puddles with drinks, umbrellas and guests, laughing with us at the ridiculous weather. The scotch eggs were lush too, but the staff were utterly standout! Thank you for your kindness.

Been here for over 20 years and have had many delicious meals with friends and family We also were able to take our West Highland Terrier with us to the bar.

My friend and I went for lunch and we both had scampi tails, the food was hot, delivered quickly and very tasty. I had mango cheesecake for dessert which was served with a pot of summer fruits, the summer fruits were a dominant flavour over...

The food is great and the staff are great and the atmosphere is great ,its a great little pup restaurant well worth a visit
