Super Sunday Lunch. Just got back from really enjoying a lovely family get together with fantastic food. We all loved our tasty lunch. Service was exceptional, the room and decor was homely with interesting artefacts. Desserts were top notch. Would highly recommend, and hope to visit again soon. Thank you again.

Went to Foulsyke Farm on a friends recommendation. Superb breakfast using top quality ingredients. Casey & Joe very welcoming. Lovely rustic farmhouse feel from the place. The best breakfast in a long time, dare I say the best in Scarborough so we will be regulars from now on.

Don't know if this establishment has changed hands but we have had two takeout Sunday lunches recently, which have been excellent. In fact, there was enough food on my plate for two meals, never mind one. The takeout set up is efficient and the meals were brilliant. This recent experience certainly puts a new light on the Foulsyke for us. Keep up the good work!

Been thinking for ages on wethere to wright this review.right from the start it was special,the food was absolutely first class ,the staff were amazing and worked very hard and gave up there Christmas Day to make our day special.All the decorations looked fantastic and everything was in place to make us feel safe against this horrible virus.i’m afraid to say though I believe that £80 a head was excessive even on Christmas Day.iknow they had wages to pay ,and I hope they got well paid for working very hard on Christmas Day .i also know it was my choice to pay that amount ,(we know nobody forced us to go) but thinking about it afterwords we feel £80 was to much,just my opinion and I will probably get slated for it,but I felt it had to be said.

As a substitute for a large party to celebrate a significant birthday, this had to be good and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Covid friendly and a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress Frankie was friendly and efficient and the roast beef was superb. Many thanks

We booked for a night in the bed and breakfast with dinner in the Bistro,this was after visiting the cafe a number of times whilst we were on holiday and being impressed on every visit by the good and serviceOur dinner was superb i had the blackened sea bass with scallops and a coconut curry sauce,my wife had the lamb shank,both were superb,the wine list has plenty of choice we opted for the Argentinean Mailbec which didn't disappointBreakfast provided an extensive choice ,which provided a perfect start to the dayOur room was spacious and provided everything we neededThroughout our stay the service was consistently excellent,we have booked again!!

Eaten here before for lunch which was very good. This is the first time we’ve eaten here at night time. The food is excellent, very tasty with good sized portions with reasonable prices too. Choice is good with a fine specials board. A nice wine list to compliment the food. Service is exceptionally good and friendly. We shall definitely return soon and will be recommending it to others. We live in the village so it won’t be long before we are back.

We booked well in advance for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Not realising how huge the roast was going to be we ordered a starter - panko crumbed spam with deep fried black pudding strips - which was superb. As we were devouring that the roasts were served to another table and our eyes nearly popped out when we saw the size of the Yorkshire puddings, that is without all of the veg that goes with it! Beautifully cooked tender beef, the Yorkshires and cheesy mash were to die for and so was the pan gravy. Divine - we just couldn't finish it all, sadly. We overheard another table ordering a Maltersers cheesecake and I just couldn't resist taking one home to our holiday flat to eat later - that was also to die for and my husband loved his fruit crumble and custard. They will pack up anything that you can't manage to eat for you so that you can take it home. Totally COVID safe, lovely warm atmosphere, great value and really friendly service. I would give 6* if I could. Fantastic.

We had an evening meal, stayed for the night and had breakfast in the morning. Everything was faultless and highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxed evening (even in these current conditions) with exceptional food and amazing hospitality. The overnight stay was pleasant, the cleanliness of the rooms were above expectations and the rooms are well furnished.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Have never seen anything like it before with a huge Yorkshire pudding ,beef(for me) and lamb (for my wife) complete with 3 different types of potatoes and 8 vegetables!! All served by very friendly staff in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We've eaten out in many places ,in many countries and this is at the top of our list of eating out experiences.

We visited on Friday 11th September, after reading the reviews on here we booked a table for 2 during out weekend to Scarborough. It certainly didn't disappoint. It's a beautiful set up, only 3 tables in the room we were in, not sure you could fit another one in, (perfectly socially distanced from others). We had the soup and prawn cocktail to start, loads of prawns and very fresh. Mains were chicken breast wrapped in ham for hubby which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had the lamb, best lamb I've ever had, so tender, it was amazing. We didn't have room for a pudding. If you get the chance to visit you will not be disappointed ! :-)

Not surprised this place has a 5 star review, we had Sunday lunch and it was awesome, the food was excellent and was a plate full, more than we could eat, would recommend.

Fabulous breakfast in a farm cottage bistro with a homely feel. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Fabulous breakfast; generous portions and really great value. Able to cater for gluten free - GF bread available for toast/sandwiches. GF sausages as standard. Couldn’t fault it!!

My wife , parents and i have just had the pleasure of dining here . The service from the waitresses was absolutely spot on and the food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The setting is stunning and the decor is amazing. I would highly recommend this lovely bistro to anyone . First rate .

The Foulsyke is in such a gorgeous setting with gorgeous decor! You can’t help but feel comfortable and relaxed there! Add to this the super helpful and welcoming staff and it makes the Foulsyke the perfect place to dine! I am lactose intolerant and this can be tricky for restaurants but the Foulsyke, on every occasion I have dined there, have adopted a “nothing is too much trouble” attitude and made me some beautiful food (no matter how busy they were) which is much appreciated. Thank you Foulsyke! Can’t wait to come back!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First day of our family stay in Cloughton and we wanted to find somewhere to eat breakfast..... a quick look on Trip advisor and we located this gem of a place, literally 5 mins along the road. To be honest, if we hadn’t read the reviews the outside might have deterred us but it was fantastic! Staff were very pleasant and attentive, the Full English breakfast is superb with tasty, fresh produce. Highly recommend this place ... we’ll be back (several times) before we head home!

Our second visit to the b&b and bistro did not disappoint. Under new management it still has the cosy rural welcoming feel. Food is amazing breakfast dinner and afternoon tea. Huge portions of food. Diane the restaurant manager is funny and friendly as are the staff. Would recommend it for a long weekend for adults.

Lovely lunch today outside in this beautiful weather. The only reason i didn’t give 5 stars is that we had to wait approx 55mins for our lunch, which i think is too much of a wait. Friendly staff, lovely food. Will be back

Restaurant has just 4 tables, decor is great and food delicious. Dogs only allowed outside so looking forward to a summer visit.

We got quite a shock when we sat down at our table and it was a set menu for £37.50 Each, was looking forward to a nice steak, but that wasn't an option.It was confusing because a nice waitress was going into more detail telling them was what is included in the price and the waitress with short curly hair didn't, so it rather confusing.It should have been stated when booking that it was a set menu and set price!

Great atmosphere and wonderful food, thoroughly enjoyed, very quirky place we loved it, family visit so had a little one with us nothing was too much trouble x

Ate here as a party of 7 on Wednesday evening Absolutely superb Between us we enjoyed scallops and black pudding - delicious, lamb koftas which were incredible, halibut beautifully done, burgers and slow toasted belly pork Everything was perfectly prepared and simply gorgeous Looking forward to returning. This has to be the best food in Scarborough

I visited The Foulsyke on Sunday for my birthday lunch with my family. A large party of us, 10 in total. We had one of the rooms to ourselves which was set out lovely. The young lady who took our order was excellent and ran back over the order to check that she had everything right ( a great thing to do with such a large table). Only a few of us ordered starters and we were all very impressed with the quality of food and size of the portions. Between us we had the shredded chicken goujons, brie wedges and garlic mushrooms. All delicious. The mains were amazing. I had the belly pork and it was divine. Not my first visit here and certainly won't be my last. It's great for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and Sunday lunches. Food and service always impeccable.

Wow, for a special pre Christmas treat we decided to book the Festive Afternoon Tea. We were delighted with the service and ambience of this quirky place. The food was amazing with so much choice and of course a doggy bag to take home the extras.Many thanks Diane and team, can’t wait for next year.

My wife and I booked in to this wonderful little Bistro while staying here on a birthday away. The food was excellent and cooked to order, the highest order. The service was wonderful from the owners too . A definite return to here is on the cards

I have visited The Foulsyke numerous times and I can honestly say, their breakfasts are one of a kind. Every breakfast I have had has been amazing and I always recommend them to friends and family. Try them and see for yourself. I recently tried an evening meal to see if the service was just as good, and I was not disappointed. I had Salmon with a cucumber sauce? - which blew my socks off! 10/10 for the chefs' that cook the meals, presentation is always spot on. I'm not sure how a few have rated only 3* - they're either: 1) Very picky and expect the world, or 2) Their tastebuds are non-existent; probably the 2nd option.TRY TRY TRY! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

This was a birthday treat - we had great starters and main courses, and I was so looking forward to the pudding - the highlight of any meal for me. Unfortunately it was a let down - apart from treacle sponge or ice cream, everything on offer was cake (the same selection 9ffered in the tea room). A real disappointment for me.

Recently ate here with friends for a birthday dinner, great service very friendly. Different opinions on the food, I’m GF and it was ok I would like to say more but I cannot honestly. My wife had steak which she didn’t enjoy. The portions are big not a complaint at all but too much for myself.

Came here for a Saturday lunch and had a fabulous meal. Arrived with a warm welcome and we were impressed with the choice available on the menu. We chose slow cooked lamb and Turkish burger which were delicious, as was the berry creme brûlée. Lovely setting too. Look forward to going back.

Breakfast, lunch or dinner, this place never disappoints. Although it is hidden off the track compared to other places, it’s definitely a hidden gem. Food is always excellent every time and the evening menu changes regularly so it’s nice and fresh! I would defiantly recommend here for any occasion, the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed and the staff are brilliant. Keep up the good works guys!

My partner and I dined here for 2 consecutive evenings! We were staying at the farmhouse and had such a fantastic meal on the first night that we booked again for our second night! The staff were lovely and really attentive and ensured we had everything we needed! The food is outstanding and the tomahawk steak, with all the trimmings, was phenomenal! We can’t wait to come back!

We have been meaning to get here for sometime, glad we did. Really friendly and helpful service with good home cooked food with quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Went for an evening meal with friends and everything about our visit was excellent. In fact we’ve been a number of times and have never had a bad meal. Your always given a friendly welcome and nothing is too much trouble for anybody. The food is always excellent.

Visited today as a party of four, every one of us enjoyed the whole experience from the quality of the genuinely friendly service to the first class food served to us. Four completely empty plates tells the story, you don't need to ask any more! Great value for money and we will definitely be going back.

This was my first visit despite hearing great things about this place over the past couple of years. It wasn't a disappointment! My friend, her dog and I sat in the lovely garden out the front on the very quiet road and enjoyed the peace. I ordered a custard slice and a pot of tea and was blown away when it arrived - this wasn't just a slice on a plate - it was more like a pudding! It was served on a pretty triangular plate with a mound of whipped cream and a pile of strawberries and raspberries - the slice itself was huge and would have been enough for two! - all this for the price of a normal portion anywhere else! The staff are lovely and the place has a very laid back feel. I had a look at all the menus and plan to come back at other times of the day! Highly recommend

The food was beautiful and lovely placed but the menu only offered one veggie meal! Our meals were served with vegetables and a large bottle of water!

It’s a long time since I had such a good Sunday roast. Table for four including a 2.5yr old, the roast beef was lovely, the fillet of plaice equally so... lots of perfectly cooked vegetables, all in a countryside setting, in a really nicely renovated farmhouse.

We found this amazing place by chance after a six hour drive from Somerset. What a find! The food is frankly superb; the beds comfy and the staff very friendly, efficient and always smiling! I wish we lived closer so that we could enjoy the Foulsyke on a regular basis. A warning to other visitors tho", starve for a few days before a visit, because the portions are huge and great value for money. I can't wait for October when we have to go back.

As a surprise for my wife’s birthday we went with friends for Sunday lunch. We couldn’t fault any of it. Gorgeous food, lovely staff and great surroundings. Excellent, we will be back.

Stopped off just before we stayed at the hotel opposite last weekend. Unfortunately we were too late for lunch but the owners were kind enough to let us have coffee and cake just ten mins before they shut for the afternoon. What a delight! The scones were to die for and my partner said the custard slice was the best he’d ever had. They were about to serve afternoon tea for 27 and it looked fabulous- will defo be back to try that! Three of us had lunch here and it was wonderful as usual, Iv ate here a few times and it is always perfect and always really busy, so really really shocked to see the business is up for sale!! Hope the new owners will continue to run it as brilliantly as these people have for the last four years as it would be a shame to lose such a lovely country cafe/bistro.

The food is lovely, very expensive, not a place you would go every week too!., some of the staff are abit miserable, which is a shame.

Typical bistro, lovely warm atmosphere. Decor very pleasant and table settings very good , seating ok, but a little hard, cushions were provided. The food was cooked perfectly. Good choice. A little disappointed as I questioned a sauce and was made to feel inferior as it was obvious what the sauce was. Not the usual response. Ample portions served.

This was our first visit here and it had been highly recommended by my mum and step dad, who were with us also.

This place is the home of Sunday lunch. This is my third visit and it has been superb every time. Don’t eat the week before. You will need the space. Unbelievable value and utter quality

Brief review due to being needed to dig holes in Scarborough beach but could go on at length about our first visit to Foulskye- the Sunday lunch was out of this world. We love our food and have two discerning mini foodies too who loved it. I am also coeliac and got to have homemade gluten free yorkshire puddings- a first for eating out for me.

This out of the way bistro was a great find, we used TripAdvisor weeks before to find a recommended place to eat and booked in advance to make sure we had a reservation. Very small rooms inside which gave a nice homely feel also outside tables available. The Sunday roast was to die for, so much so I'm just going to saying "the best roast dinner I have ever had in any restaurant, bistro or pub!" Absolutely gutted that 3 hrs before I had eaten a full English breakfast and was not able to fit in dessert :(

Had the most wonderful 40th Birthday. The staff at Foulsyke were amazing! We booked the 4 rooms for us all and they were stunning! Amazing food, excellent service! Cannot fault anything. Little bread and olives on the table on arrival and water brought straight away without asking. Very relaxed and cozy environment. Enjoyed every course soo much (we had all 3 +coffee).

Had a really lovely breakfast, Beautiful sausages, Doreen’s black pudding, the tomatoes had a chargrilled taste to them, crispy Hash-brown, everything was piping hot! Even the toast was lovely, nice farmhouse bread!

Had a full English breakfast with my family and was not disapointed. Simply perfect the quality was obviously of a high standard. Everything was piping hot and cooked to perfection. A lovely pleasant enviroment.The service was quick and efficient.

When on a Saturday lunch time, food was lovely, shame the service was slow, and the lady waiting on the tables was rushed off her feet, and was not listening properly to customers, eg, I asked for a glass off water, didn't get one, another table asked where their side order of seeet potatoes were and she replied, if you not got it then it's because they haven't any left, not good,

My sons treated me to a Mothers Day Lunch. As soon as we arrived the service was fantastic. The food was sublime, the atmosphere cosy, contemporary and comfy. This is a quality dining experience which I cannot wait to try again. Thank you.

A couples weekend away without the kids and it was perfect, Keith and Diane were outstanding - the food was incredible - an explosion of taste and lovely, crisp wine. Bedrooms were homely and extremely comfortable and the duvet was so snuggly that I didn`t want to get up - but the lure of a full english beckoned, oh what a treat - it was sublime... cannot thank you enough and can`t wait to return - go - you`ll not be dissapointed :)

We stayed here for my daughters Big Birthday. There were eight in our party and we had dinner there on the Saturday night. I started with mussels which is a great favourite of mine and I have to say these were The Best I’ve ever had. I followed up with a lobster which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a spicy red Thai curry sauce. Others in the party had steaks, prawns, scallops, fish and more and all were declared delicious.

We arrived at the Foulsyke on Saturday afternoon for a weekend away with friends - two other couples. We were greeted by the lovely Diane and shown to our room. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a huge bathroom. We dropped off our bags and had a short walk into the local village for a few drinks.

This was my second visit whilst on a short break. This time for lunch I was worried it would not be as good as the Sunday lunch I need not have worried. Although you will never beat their Sunday lunch the weekday lunch was also delicious Service is fantastic. The choice seems endless and the quality and standard of food is amazing. Seriously you have to visit this place. I’m stuffed ,,,!,,,, I don’t think I’ll need to eat for another week

As always, i have just had the most wonderful and tasty breakfast. In my opinion, this venue always represents great value however today was a bogof day; much to my surprise. I gave my thoughts to the owner as to the specific aspects of her business that appeal to me. We agreed that as long as a business was making money, there was never the need to "gnaw the customers arm off". This told me a lot about the people that are responsible for the success of Foulsyke. A quality, customer focused, truly local business which is absolutely deserving of support. You will not be dissapointed.

We called in with friends for lunch, nice welcome, placed on a window table in a small room, We ordered two soups, and four main courses. The menu did not excite any of us. The soup was very tasty with lovely bread,, one soup was hot the other one had to be sent back as it was cold . The Merlot house wine was very acceptable, an added bonus. The main courses were very average with half full plates going back. We will be in no hurry to go back

The best restaurant in Scarborough by far, everything is superb including the staff, I can't praise it enough!!!

I'm fortunate to travel for my job and visit quite a lot of restaurants up and down the UK. Foulsyke was recommended to me by friends and their enthusiasm was completely justified. The food was simply outstanding, well presented and most importantly, delicious and extremely tasty. The red wine was superb, yet inexpensive and the whole experience was amazing from starter to desert.

We had a lunch party here for 12 people, and the staff could not have been more attentive. The food was excellent in every detail, and served without any rush, but always carefully and in good humour. The Bistro benefits from also having a lovely outside space, which we used on another occasion. Gluten Free was no problem, and all in all a most enjoyable experience.

Had evening meal tonight great food ordered a lot off the specials board and was not disapointed the standard menu had a lot to offer as well. Nice surroundings and ambiance, staff courteous and polite as you should get at most restaurants but not always the case,as I was told many years ago manors cost nothing and can say all your staff at the front of house have manors. Well done on your recruitment. Once again great food great service with a smile would highly recomend.

Read a number of reviews on this place so decided to check out if it was as good as reviews said and they were right. Quaint bistro style rooms set in a lovely cottage setting.

Myself and my work colleagues decided to come back to this lovely restaurant for our Christmas party meal 3rd year running now. We find the rooms are lovely nice quiet music so we can all natter (which us ladies like to do) and once again our meal did not disappoint it was decorated nicely and like I say the food is superb which is what keeps bringing us back every year the price for the Christmas meal was fair too £32.50 there were extras on the festive menu that you could choose and just pay abit more for but the choice you got was brilliant and varied enough for anyone to find something they liked I hope this helps as everyone is always so keen to moan about places but if I've had a lovely time I like to say so thank you again for my delicious Christmas meal.

£13.50 what amazing value for money, sandwiches, pigs in blankets ,roast potatoes in goose fat, pate with trimmings ie cranberry sauce and gravy ,mince pie, Christmas cake millionaire shortbread... all beautifully presented and cooked to perfection and served in a lovely atmosphere by lovely people, who nothing is to much trouble for.Never had a bad meal here and would recommend it to anyone.

I love a good 'full English' and this is tops. On special at the moment at £7.50 including coffee. Proper good quality items, all cooked to perfection and served red hot. The black pudding is amazing. The best breakfast you can get.
