Took my Dad for his birthday. Couldn't fault the experience, Door service was exemplary and waitresses attentive. We all had different dishes and had good things to say about them all. Will make it regular

Had a wake for my Grandad there. It's a lovely place. Really clean, decorated nice. They did chips with the buffet which was nice.

First time having the early bird menu. Excellent. All five of us cleared our plates. Definitely one of my favourite places to dine. And gluten free fish and chips and sticky toffee pud with custard.

We arrived 2 mins before the kitchen closed and the staff were great! So accommodating and we managed to order a few nibbles which were all so delicious! We’re not local but will definitely make the journey back as we loved it so much!

Lovely lunchtime meal with my 2 friends, staff are so friendly and nothing too much trouble, staff are so hard working, keep up the good work.

For this visit (26.03.2024), I've given an overall rating of 4 stars, so it must look odd that I've given 5 stars for each of the food, service, and atmosphere. Let me explain why... I come here approximately once every 2 months to meet up with friends where we can have a good girly catchup. The food was its usual high quality, and I have to recommend the macaroni cheese (with bacon) from the early bird menu. It's just so yummy. One of my friends had the chicken ceasar salad and she really enjoyed it. The refurb looks really nice, and the new menu looks tasty. Now, as I said, us girls love our chats, so we are often behind with ordering, etc. because we're too busy nattering. However, after we were winding down from everything, food, etc, for the first time, we were made to feel they just wanted us gone. Quite a few times, the staff would come and hover over our table, not saying anything, but we felt quite uncomfortable about it. There's hovering to see if there is anything to collect from the table, but this didn't feel like that this time. I will say not to let this review put you off. Remember, we've been coming here for years and we're usually fine. Next time will probably be as great as the previous visits!

Lovely pub really nice atmosphere, amazing service by staff. Food was good too wife order from the early bird menu which was great value for money and a big portion too. I had the sirloin steak from the regular menu a bit more pricey than other places. However the quality of meat is good and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. Good selection of drinks

Stopped off here whilst doing a walk in the area as was recommended as a great local pub. We hadn't book but staff allowed us to sit outside which was great as weather was lovely and warm. We both had a roast Sunday lunch which was around £19 and a pint of Phoenix £4.60. Phoenix was a lovely refreshing pint which had a fruity flavour and was very nice to drink. After waiting about 30 minutes we chased the food and it arrived soon afterwards. Really great quality. Meat was tasty and roast potatoes were excellent, very tasty and flavourful. Vegetables were also great and very well cooked. Overall really great food and drink and would recommend.

Food was good, pork belly bites the best starter on the menu. Never eaten there on a Saturday, very busy, young staff were very good and attentive but a special shout out to Tilly, polite and cheerful but really just very good at what she does, thank you for the birthday muffin, very nice touch and I'll remember that.

1st visit with friends post 10 pin bowling 🎳. This is a pub group who have 3 x Everards Tenancies( Beautiful Pubs,).Good choice of drinks on offer. Staff were very smart in appearance and attentive.Menu was good choices quite pricey but quality of food was excellent.For a Saturday lunch I was surprised how busy it was.At 1pm the place was packed.We All had 3 x courses and left very satisfied and will definitely return.

I had an amazing sunday roast with all the trimmings. The chocolate fudge was delicious as well. The vibe is really nice here at the Forge. The staff are friendly and polite. The inside decor is good, with lots of seating areas and booths. The beer garden is huge and is perfect for a summers day. I've had one of the pizza's from the pizza shed before and it was delicious!

Visited yesterday after living in Groby for over a year now and we were sad we hadn't visited before. Came with 2 little kids and it was perfect. The food was delicious, well presented and generous potion size. Staff we were attentive and friendly ensuring we had enough drinks and everything was ok. Husbands steak was cooked to perfection and the kids ate most of their meal. The decor was lovely and warming. Will definitely be visiting again!

Went here for my birthday meal with friends , brill staff and fast service , first time coming , I forgot to order my sauce , it took a while to come asked staff again then straight came with my sauce , enjoyed my meal , when paying the bill staff said we took a glass of wine of your bill for waiting so long for your sauce , to me that was accurate service , they new the mistake and they corrected it with out me having to say anything , will defo come back here again ,,,, I’ll give them , 10 out of 5 stars xxxx

We arrived without booking managed to get 4 of us a table we ordered food then my husband felt unwell I asked if we could cancel the food without hesitation the reply was yes no problem the lovely waitress asked if he wanted a glass of water. We will go back for a steak could not fault them at all.

Only went for lunch, pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff and nice food.

First visit to this place. There were so many things I wanted on the menu, settled on a Sunday roast. It was the best roast I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and lots of it! Gutted I couldn’t fit pudding in. Saw the biggest Eaton mess go to the next table and it looked amazing! Reasonably priced (actually a bargain for the quality) and the service was relaxed and spot on . 100% visiting again! I might have pudding first though just in case!

A group of us went, brilliant, I cannot fault it. Dishes were gammon, fish, wings, and chicken dishes. Many thanks to the great staff

Service was great. I'm pregnant at the moment with gestational diabetes and the bartender was really great in trying to create an alcohol free, sugar free drink. He didn't manage it but the fact that he took on the challenge and researched it was so thoughtful. The food was lovely, we didn't feel rushed at all and there was a good size gap between courses which definitely stopped the post meal bloat. We will be going again.

First time at the Forge Inn, the decor inside gives it a warm home feeling. Food was good quality and portion size. Staff were friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you not been before.

Great pub our local we are so lucky

I have heard many good things about this pub however have never been purely due to time. We came today for a family meal and we were not disappointed. Everyone who works there is so polite and kind and the food was gorgeous and worth every penny! I didn't try a dessert this time however they looked so delicious I regretted that choice! Can't wait to come again!

Eaten here a few times and the food is always excellent with great, polite and friendly service from all the staff. The menu is good, the children's portions are generous and good quality. The seating is well thought out and the surroundings are clean and well kept. As a result it can be quite busy, and I would recommend booking in advance for busy times.

A super cosy village pub with a rustic country theme set in the older part of the village. Plenty of areas to eat with a small function room seating upto 14 with a board room type table and a two course menu. An area at the end of the pub can be hired for private functions with more informal seating and nestled behind a large fireplace so relatively secluded. There is an outside seating area. The food is delicious and well presented. Posh Hot chocs are to die for! Very large carpark overlooking an old overgrown cricket pitch with wildflowers in it at certain times. Staff are friendly and helpful. Booking a table is strongly advised due to its popularity

Lovely food and attentive staff, but dirty glasses on the table, lipstick marks and what looked like dried on food.

We love it here. This is our go to for lunch. We're vegan, they only have a couple or three vegan options on the menu but the place is so nice inside and the servers and manager so friendly that we always return.

Absoluly love this place to eat. Excellent in every department, and the menu is great. Great for lunch, too. And they have an early bird menu, which is very good. Outside seating, and so was great in the summer.

High recommendation from me. The steak and Stilton salad is divine. Steak cooked to perfection; melt in the mouth. I wasn't drinking, but those who were said the wine was fantastic. Staff friendly with the right amount of attentiveness to our needs. Coffee is of a good standard, and the calamari and pork belly (I tried someone else's starter) were cooked perfectly, too.

Really enjoyed the food here although we had to wait a long time for the mains to come out after the Starters...almost an hour. Will definitely back though as all the food was delicious and generous portions

I don’t usually leave reviews but feel our experience fully deserves one. Had a lovely evening here for my granddaughters birthday. The service was amazing. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Made my granddaughter feel very special. Food was beautiful. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely Sunday lunch, 4 of us called in on the off chance around 4pm and were greeted by a lovely man who showed us to a table, then Olivia the lovely waitress took our drinks order then our food order unfortunately the kitchen had no beef or pork left and Olivia was very apologetic about it, so we all had the roast chicken and we all agreed how lovely it was, we all left very satisfied and have vowed to return again but next time we will go earlier and book ahead.

Lovely modern pub. Food prices on the higher side, but worth it for the excellent quality. They also have cheaper deals for early dining. Highly recommended.

wasn't busy Friday 1st Sept 2023, but took an absolute age to get served , staff appeared to be congregated at the top end of the bar even ghough like I said ..wasn't busy. All very young staff that seemed to be serving people they know. If I were nor meeting friends I would have walked .

What better way to end the bank holiday than a meal at the Forge?😌 It doesn’t take a genius to work out that I am a BIG BIG fan of The Forge Inn. We last visited at the end of May and as per usual, I was not disappointed. What I had: • Jack’s Fish & Chips (swapped for Roman fries, iykyk) • Beer Battered Onion Rings • Eton Mess Cheesecake The fish was cooked to perfection with such a light, crispy batter. I cannot go to the forge and not order their truffle fries so I swapped the normal chips out for these. They were of course sensational. Even the mushy peas were a delight to eat. I also cannot resist when I see beer battered onion rings on a menu. I could easily devour ten portions of these (or somewhere near that number). Again they were cooked perfectly with the batter being so light and melting in your mouth. Finally, the Eton mess cheesecake…oh my goodness. Anything Eton mess is always a go-to for me. I do struggle to finish a dessert after a big meal but I’m pretty sure I demolished this🫣. I think just after we’d been, they changed the dessert menu so the cheesecake is no longer available. However, they do a raspberry and white chocolate Eton mess meringue that sounds divine! Going to the forge is always such a treat. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The servers that look after us aren’t always consistent with their attentiveness but I think that’s due to where we’re seated perhaps? Who knows. Overall, another lovely experience and I can’t wait to go back soon!

The atmosphere, staff and food here are all too notch. The pub is also nicely furnished and makes you feel comfortable. The price is very reasonable for what you get, and what you get isn’t a slap up plate of food it is a tasty meal prepared excellently with care and diligence. My props to the Chefs. I will definitely return.

We only visited for a drink this time but was such a nice, lively and welcoming place. Highly recommend whether for a drink or a meal. Always a great atmosphere

My first visit and very happy with everything.

I've never eaten at The Forge. But they do have a fab selection of beers which I like to plough through. Their food does look amazing. I think they call them Hot Hobs. They will be the first thing I try I reckon. But they get a lot of happy customers here.

Brilliant meal excellent service the calamari was tender the fish was perfectly cooked with crunchy batter and the lemon ice cream with the cheesecake was to die for 😋

I don’t normally leave reviews on restaurants unless they’re really good and In this instance it was AMAZING. The Sunday dinner was fantastic, it definitely is one of the best roast dinners I’ve had in the area and the chocolate fudge cake was incredible (and huge). Service was very good and all waiters were very polite and attentive. 10/10 highly recommend🌟

Best pub meal I have had in a long time! My mum and I went to the forge for lunch after her friend recommended it and it exceeded my expectations!! The light bite lunch menu was not just good value but also filled us up and tasted spectacular!! The mac and cheese I'm particular! To add to the a round of drinks was cheaper here than most pubs I go to locally which was a bonus too! Pudding was brilliant and the chocolate fudge cake alone makes me want to return. Our servers were fantastic, they checked on us regularly with a big smile and took time for us even though it was busy. The actual pub was beautiful inside and makes your meal feel almost magical! I will definitely be returning and I cannot recommend this pub enough!

The menu was varied I chose the sea Bass highly recommended ,the food was beautifully cooked and hot , served by a very pleasant young lady .plenty of seating in or out.
