A warm welcome, delicious fish and chips served generously at a reasonable price. An address not to be missed if you pass through Bushmills 😍

Parking is not ideal but a public car park nearby. Service was friendly. Shop was modern and clean however the door was being kept open resulting in it being freezing. Like every other fish & chip shop in the north coast prices have risen quite a bit. The chicken fillet burgers was over £5 which seems standard now. Was served in a good quality bap with good garnishing. The batter was not too greasy and the burger itself was very tasty. Only negative was the chicken fillet itself was smaller than expected - if normal size the food would have been given 5 stars - looking at the photo it looks bigger than it actually was. Definitely one of the best chip shops in the area.

Simply the best fish and chips in Ulster! Never bettered in my experience. Huge fish with lovely batter and the chips are first class as well. Treat yourself!

Went to Flash in the Pan on recommendation of our hosts. A gfeat choice..we both had the Cod Supper...massive, tasty cod in nice batter, with box full of chips & a portion of peas each. Staff were lovlely & helpful - young guy cookign & young woman servin...threw in several tartare sauce sachets Thrououghly recommend & can see why they have won awards!

Good things first People are really good friendly and happy treating the customers. But the food is really not worth the money. Chicken wrap was good. Fish n chips were really bad. Fish was soaked in oil and chips felt old. And coffee was disastrous. Wouldn’t risk to go there again.

Fish so skinny it was all batter, dark and tasteless chips and what even was that vegetarian burger? Very disappointing food and so expensive. Will not be back

So far, it is the best fast-food burger in Bushmills. Way better then The Hip Chip across the street.

Seemed like a welcoming place, attentive service and food was cooked fairly quickly. Just disappointed to see such a bare veggie burger. I understand that the majority of smaller rural fish and chips shops fry in beef dripping and may not wish to pay attention to the few people who are vegetarian but to have just a toasted bun and veggie patty was sad for the price. Even some butter on the buns, cheese, lettuce, tomato or anything else would have been great, especially seeing that the regular burgers have these options, so overall it felt like it wasn't even meant to be on the menu. Without the sauce packets we picked up from the counter, it was very dry and miserable to eat after a long day hiking. I wish I'd taken a picture to show but can only say not to expect much if you are a vegetarian. Otherwise, it looks delicious and great for non-vegetarians!

Large family all were zbld to find something to choose. Wait was as expected for fresh food. Price was as expected for good quality food. The chicken burger was absolutely delicious. The battered mushroom was lovely and not greasy as can happen. We were well fed.

Ordered 40 pounds of fish and chips. Drove 15 miles to have down by the beach. There was no salt and vinegar on it. Tasteless. What level of chipper does that. Too far away to turn back. Flung it in the bin. Never again

Мы заказали 2 порции fish and chips и один cheeseburger и заплатили 40 паунтов. Чипсы были несъедобные, в гамбургере, кроме котлеты и кусочка сыра не было ничего, да и булка была никакая. Никаких соусов в пакет не положили.

Great location for a quick pick up and dining by the water (in Portballintrae). Fish a little too greasy but great quality. Never had such a thick chicken curry but it tasted amazing!

Food was good. That's probably why there was a long wait. There were only 3 workers. Cashier charged me for a meal when I just ordered the fish with chips on the side. I didn't want to hassle with refunds so I just took the drink too.

Flash in the pan is one of my favourite childhood chip shops. Great service, served quickly despite it being busy. Standard price for a chip shop. Chips were fresh and goof portion size.

I’ve visited this takeaway a few times when I’ve been in the area on holiday and never been disappointed; however, this time I was shocked that the price of a fish supper has risen to £14 and a single fish was £9. The quality was ok but certainly not worth those prices which were hard to see with the moving menu board which didn’t include the fish supper price at all! It’s a shame because I won’t be back!

I’ll agree that the chips were of excellent quality, but I’m baffled by all the reviews saying ‘reasonable prices’. This is really very expensive for fish and chips.

Gone downhill badly, used to be amazing but I wouldn't go back. Frightfully expensive for a tiny sliver of fish encased in thick greasy batter along with a very meagre portion of chips.

A jumbo hot dog is infact a sausage bap with 2 sliced sausages and chips and beans doesn't come with cutlery. No real apology when I phoned in to ask about the food.

Flash in the Pan is one of the only fish and chips shop in town. We tried it and loved it. Did a takeaway, the portion was generous and the taste was good, crust is very crispy and juice inside. The wait wasn’t long so overall we love it. Plus the shop is very clean

My wife and I where driving through Bushmills and thought we would treat ourselves to a visit to Flash in the Pan, I ordered a cheese burger for my wife and a jumbo cod and chips for myself, excited and hungry we waited on our order. The burger was excellent according to my lovely wife, she declared very tasty, and proper quality, sadly I cannot say the same, the jumbo cod was everything but jumbo, i think a better discription was two large fish fingers, the taste was at best faint and the batter was soggy, the chips where just ok nothing more and at price they where asking I was very dissapointed, once a great chip shop so what happened?

Had dinner here with my Mum and it was perfect! Sausage and chips, and fish and chips, not over cooked, lovely and hot and the people working were really sweet. Will go back next time we are up that way.

We had takeaway fish and chips from here and they were fantastic. The cod was very tasty and the batter was nice and crispy. The chips were also fantastic and the portions large. Down side is that it is a lot more expensive than last time I was there but nevertheless we really enjoyed it. I would recommend this place for fish and chips.

We tried this place because of all the fantastic reviews, so I feel compelled to add our review. The fish and chips here were heavy and greasy, and so unappetizing that I barely ate--and I love fish and chips, and have had many great dinners of it in Ireland. Try somewhere else!

Not going back the chips were hard and went in the bin, I’m a person that doesn’t throw away food but this time I did, I asked for a sliced chicken supper but just got sliced chicken and hard chips this cost £20+.

We went as 4 family members all adults. My fish was so greasy the paper completely stuck to it, I had to peel it off with a knife. The chips had been cooked along time. They were dry, hard and disgusting. We all binned them as they were inedible. I asked the lady behind the till for the price of fish and chips £11.50 . I could read the boards as they moved so fast that I couldn’t keep up due to my dyslexia. I later found out I could have had whiting at £6.50 plus £3 ish chips. I wasn’t giving other options of fish when asked I eaven asked if they had different size fish I got told there wasn’t. Extremely stressful and unpleasant and I won’t be going back.

Got two fish suppers here tonight inot local so going by the massive queue outside this place and the two other options directly across the street with just a few outside I went with this one and was not disappointed even with the queue it wasn't the wait I anticipated. Good food good portions lovely Cod. Definitely recommend

We went in here in the middle of Storm Dudley looking some food and we weren't disappointed. Food was cooked to order while we waited and it only took 5-10 mins. Excellent sized portions and delicious chicken goujons. I would recommend driving 2 mins down...

We had takeaway fish and chips from here during our recent visit to Bushmills. The food was excellent. I enjoyed my cod and chips which was large and very tasty. The best thing was that the food was not greasy at all.

Hi, felt hard done by, asked for a Large ended up with a regular which is really a small. Not enough for £3.25, the chips are dry and crunchy with no flavour. Not recommended if hungry and very disappointed after the long wait.

Costing around £16 for 2 cod suppers it’s not cheap but the fish and chips are very tasty. Freshly cooked with a lovely batter nothing was wasted. Good food!

The staff was very friendly. We tasted the fish&chips which was good. I would recommend take-away though as there aren't too many tables.

We stopped after seeing reviews. It caters to carry out but had a counter and a table or two. The staff was friendly and the food was made to order. We had to split the huge portion of fish and chips. We were told by locals that the tour buses stop here.

The northern Ireland version of a take-out/carry-out place, The Flash in The Pan makes everything to order. We ordered a large cheeseburger sandwich (like a sub), and the highlight...a fish and chips order! This large piece of fish was done perfectly, and was super-fresh...it was definitely a great meal, and a great stop in the downtown Bushmills area! The prices were also very reasonable. There is limited seating both inside and out; we were fortunate enough to grab an outdoor seat.

I went to flash in the pan every time I was in bushmills and I couldn’t have faulted it.Well different story now I went other evening and spent over £30’s worth of food for family. They didn’t give us an extra chip and curry that I ordered. By time we got home it wasn’t worth the journey to go back for it.Fish was so dry and over cooked no where near the standard it used to be . All the food was upside down in the bag and was stuck to the paper.Won’t be returning Ever again.

I loved this little hole in the wall restaurant, the gal working the front counter was easy to banter with, and she was willing to dish it out and take equal punishment. The food was terrific, and the sizes were monstrous.

As we are very familiar with the excellent food from Flash in the Pan, Ballymoney, we assumed the food here would be of a similar standard.

A good reputation...so this is why we chose it over the other nearby chippies..I ordered a fish and 2 sausages, the sausages not great the fish was tasty, but very disappointed that not even a couple of chips in either package. Considering the prices I think this is a bit shabby.

reading the reviews here i had high expectations, maybe too high. the fish was fresh prepared and the portion was big but the taste was a lil boring. and i love fish and chips but this was nothing special

Called in here after visiting the Area and we where overwhelmed with how great the fish and chips was.

Called here tired and hungry after a long journey and were not disappointed - great food. Staff were also pleasant and friendly - highly recommended !!

Took the advice from the reviews to try this 1 of 3 fish and chip style shops opposite each other in Bushmills. Ordered the Scampi supper. Generous portion. Scampi was good, chips a little cooler than I expected, still warm just not piping. Peas good. Worth a visit. Lots of burger and other takeaway options including battered haggis.

We stopped here for an early supper on the way home from the Giant's Causeway and were so glad we did. We were lucky enough to get one of the two tables inside (there were three tables outside too) and got served pretty quickly. We ordered cod and chips x 2, got our receipt with the order number and waited to be called. They take telephone take home orders too so service will depend on the time of day you order. It didn't take long to get our meal, served piping hot with salt and vinegar in paper, as it should be. Sauces (ketchup, vinegar and tartare) are free on the counter. It was the best fish and chips we have had in a long time and we would certainly recommend The Flash in the Pan if you are in Bushmills.

After the trip to the Giants Causeway we were starving! We stumbled upon this chipper and bought a few different meals. Chicken Fillet Burger (very bland, way too much mayo), fish and chips (not bad) and bacon baps for kids. All in all the food was a 3 out of 5 but he service was not good. Busy, unfriendly and inattentive. Maybe try the chipper across the street before this one.

Very clean chippy chosen from TA reviews. Average/soggy chips with good Scampi. What deflated me was the miserable server. Clearly didn't want to be there and seemed to resent customers.

We were staying in Bushmills for the weekend & got fish & chips for tea on Friday night , the fish was the best I’ve tasted in a long time & portions were generous . Will definitely revisit when next in the area .

Went here for fish and chips. Tasty fish and chips. Very busy staff alright wouldn’t be the friendliest. Nice wee run to get there with a lovely coast line. Good value for money because you get to experience some of the northern Irish culture!

Good value for money and very tasty chips. I only had to wait 5mins to get my food at about 3pm today. The chippy now has seats inside to eat from. Water bottles were too expensive. Staff very friendly. Small portion is quite small.
