To celebrate my birthday, we visited this charming village PH. It's a real find. Beautifully cooked meals worthy of a high class rating. Such a friendly, calming atmosphere, what a treat it was, thank you! It's definitely on our list to revisit again, hopefully on a dry and sunny day. (Booking is a must and parking is cramped at the PH though on-street parking is allowed without restriction.)

Have been meaning to try the Five Elms for so long and finally went for Saturday lunch, this place is a little gem. Great atmosphere in a beautiful country pub and Andrew was very welcoming. We all had the set lunch menu and the food was absolutely delicious. We couldnt fault a thing. The presentation was fab and my sea bream was cooked to perfection and the pumkin veloute with goats cheese starter was fab too. Cant wait to return.

So pleased we chose to eat here during our time in Aylesbury. We had a lovely warm welcome to this traditional village pub and enjoyed a pre-dinner drink by the log fire in the bar. Dinner was outstanding - every mouthful was delicious and we both even had dessert - which is something we rarely do. I can't praise this place enough - just wish we lived closer.

Fantastic from start to finish. Lovely warm welcome & great to see the open fire & log burner roaring! We been here a few times now and always impressed with the delicious food & generally warm feel about the place. Today we tried the roast lunch....11 out of 10, the best roast dinner we have ever had! You know a country pub is serving the right food when everyone in the bar area is talking about the amazing food, especially some of the starters on the current menu.

What a lovely little place! We had an amazing dinner at this picturesque little pub. I’m vegetarian and I’ve never had such a subtly delicious lentil dish as I had here. I’m used to mediocre restaurant vegetarian meals so this was truly a revelation. The other members of our party had fish which I’m told was also delicious. The food was beautifully presented, the service was faultless and friendly and the atmosphere cozy. Altogether a super evening.

From the moment you arrive in this little village, you're in for a surprise. Park up, have a stroll around and admire the quaint beauty of the traditional thatched cottages. The views over Aylesbury vale and surrounding countryside are magnificant. One can see right the way across to Waddesdon Manor, as well as surrounding villages, including the Claydons When you've finally worked up that thirst, be prepared for the "wow factor" as you step inside this oldy worldy traditional English ale-house. Low ceilings and decor fitting of the old style exude a character and warmth that makes you want to stay. The food is just another gastronomic delight, and all presented by the friendliest of staff. So stop by, and you wont be disappointed.

Village pub with large open fireplaces be prepared to wait as the food is all freshly cooked and the wait is worthwhile. A minor delay for the menu [following a check to see what was still on before we were given a copy to read] enabled us to get a good look at the next table before ordering. Portions were well sized so we skipped starters as they looked big enough for a lunch on their own. Everyone had something different and I swapped out mash for potatoes to steer clear from butter. The lamb was sold as pink but as I preferred a darker meat, I was advised that as the plate was always rested before serving it would not be rosy coloured. It was worth the risk as the lamb was so tender but still brown in a delicious thin but flavoursome gravy the simple potatoes and tender broccoli complimented it perfectly. The mint sauce lifted the greens and the ale was a natural pairing. A perfect Sunday treat.

We arrived to a lovely welcome from Kerry, and were asked to register using the NHS Covid App on the phones. Spotlessly clean throughout. Both Kerry and Ollie were very attentive and we felt very comfortable and relaxed from the moment we entered the pub. We shared a few nibbles (chorizo was amazing! As were the potato skins and Camembert). My friend opted for the plaice and the rest of us had the haddock and chips. The fish was cooked very well in a light batter, the chips were extremely large, more like a roast potato, I think I would have preferred a smaller cut (but that's just my opinion, my friend loved his!) Then we came to the puds! The choc pot and the cheesecake were to die for, my husband had the apple crumble which came with an oat crumble and was delicious (apparently as I only have his word for it!). The boys had beer which was perfect and the gin selection was small but interesting. There was hand sanitiser on each table and the staff wore masks ofcourse. We at by the window which had amazing views, albeit through the rain! Toilets were spotless. It was well worth the hours drive. All in all very Covid aware and very comfortable. Thank you Kerry and Ollie
