Second visit after being once before for a lunch, this time we visited with friends for dinner. In my opinion this is definitely the number one fish restaurant in Glasgow bar none!

Why surprisingly?.. Well, this appears to be nothing more than a misplaced kiosk pressed up against a multi-storey car park and next to the subway station in a pretty bleak part of town... But on this particular grey, drizzling and cold Sunday lunchtime... it was like entering Pandora's Box or some sort of gastronomic Tardis...Warm and very welcoming and comfortable. AS the name suggests, these people are very serious about very good fish and seafood. The haddock and pea soup was superb, the beer battered fish delivered Britain's once favourite dish to perfection and the delicious crab linguine was full of moist South Coast crab with perhaps a little too much chilli. The convenience of this unlikely eatery is all about transportation... very handy for park & ride... and so an excellent spot to eat before or after a trip into town.

Gandolfi Fish

03/02/2019: Came here for a pre Celtic Connections gig meal on the recommendation of our friends.
30/03/2019: Visited on a cold and rainy Monday night and received warm friendly welcome from the typical Glaswegian waitress. Good choice of fish and chips with bread and butter was served to us promptly and thoroughly enjoyed. What more can you say!

Merchant Chippie

16/02/2019: First time here. The service was quick but I didn't like the fact that you have to spend £10 to use your card. Regardless, my battered haddock was spectacular and the chips were succulent too. It was worth every penny. Their motto is true, this is the Best!
27/10/2018: We lunched at the Merchant Chippie. Deep fried food for a treat- two of us- had the haddock and Scotch pie. Very small quarters, we were fortunate to get a table. Smelled like fried food afterwards though.
