The Fish Bar in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

One of the nicest seafood meals I have enjoyed in he UK. Everything was cooked to perfection, scallops, lobster and monkfish. Really couldn't fault anything. Better book as we were very lucky to get a table.

Really nice tapas bar, staff are super friendly and atmosphere was great. Food is really well done and not overly expensive considering! Would highly recommend the Chinese style monkfish. I also loved that they have this button service, so you press the button on your table when you need assistance which is so useful and saves time trying to flag people down! Will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

On holiday and our first wedding anniversary thought we'd go for Seafood. OMG. just the best , went for a few different tapas and salad. Just delicious 😋😋. Highly recommended.

Staff were very friendly however the food was extremely disappointing. The pepper, crab & prawn item on the specials and the garlic mushroom was delicious, everything else was not nice. Mussels I had the cream sauce and it tasted weird, mussels itself were super fresh but the sauce made it taste weird. Monkfish was super disappointing the fish itself was good, sauce was way too overpowering. Scallops on specials were idk seemed abit undercooked in the middle and it wasn’t hot when it reached our table. We also had a Fritos dish like their seafood mix and it was tasty but not worth $18.50 at all. Super disappointing meal for $75 Update: had to look for a toilet 30mins after the meal and everything came back out, I believe it was either the undercooked scallops or the monkfish sauce or mussels sauce that tasted off

Visited during a business trip and found plenty of choice from the tapas to the specials board, in the end I opted for the hanging fish skewer. This came with garlic flatbread and I added sweet potato fries, the fish was wonderful with monkfish, king prawns and a scallop

We first found this incredible place in 2020 after the first lockdown and vowed to come back. We drove down from Yeovil for two days but mainly to eat here again. Incredible tapas and such good value. We had 6 tapas, all lush, a good bottle of wine and two cocktails for around ninety quid. If you think thats not good value to eat in a world class restaurant then you dont eat out much! Great service and even the dogs got a bowl of Sprats! An absolute must if you are in Newquay!

What a awful place, we went there last year and it was lovely but this time returning the food was mediocre and when we asked too see the manager two came over in a very aggressive manner and asked...no shouted as to why we didn't like the food or complain during the meal. Rude, aggressive and downright unprofessional to shout at a customer in the middle of a restaurant. We would never go there again due too the poor food and his attitude.

Exceptional service tonight from Alicia, and the barman (who made a really good mojito) and all the staff. Excellent food and drinks and atmosphere. We hadn’t booked but they found us a spot in the bar, pushing two tables together to accommodate us. Delicious selection of tapas and couldn’t fault the attentive and friendly staff.

Absolutely brilliant evening at The Fish Bar. My daughter was celebrating her first pay packet and we could not have chosen a better venue. Even on a wet Wednesday the place was buzzing and that’s testament to the quality of the food and the service. We ate in the tapas bar because the restaurant was full but it was casual, cool and just plain good fun. We had the choice of about eight tapas dishes, which were perfect for a pair of pescatarians. The service was first class - attentive but genuinely friendly and the quality of the food was amazing. I can’t even select a highlight because it was all delicious. All the little added extras made us feel very special.

Dined here for my partners birthday as we tried to book last year and couldn’t get in! Let me start by saying the food and quality here is 10/10 I think I could eat the tapas here everyday for the rest of my life. The pigs cheeks were possibly the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth…. We ordered a fairly extensive selection from the menu which is full of awesome creations so you’re spoilt for choice no matter what you like really. We did however feel a little forgotten in the corner. The restaurant has in my opinion a genius solution to calling attention to staff with a light system on the table. Upon sitting this was explained to us but unfortunately our light seemed to have ran out battery which our waitress acknowledged and said she’d keep an eye on us as we couldn’t signal in the same way as other diners, sadly this didn’t quite happen and we were left for a while waiting to order. We did also order another bottle of wine three times for it never to arrive which was a shame. However this has not deterred me at all from the possibility of returning. As a hospitality professional myself I understand that staff have bad days, when something changes that you’re not used to (in this case the light calling system) it can be hard to adjust, the restaurant was also busy. The customer service skills displayed by our waitress when she was at our table where fantastic and her menu knowledge was seriously impressive. In conclusion, go to this restaurant you will not be disappointed it’s first class, just check your lights working when you sit! Thanks again for a memorable evening we will return!

We recently made our first visit to the Fish Bar and we could not have been more satisfied. The food was excellent with a large variety on the menu, it’s not just fish. The place has a great atmosphere with a varied & interesting selection of background music played at the right volume. We were served by the very friendly, witty & helpful owner. We have been to the other Tapas Restaurant in the town but our experience was nowhere near as good. It won’t be long before we return.

This was our first visit to the Fish House and we absolutely loved it. There was a great selection of food and drinks and all served in a buzzing atmosphere. Jorja looked after us so well and really made us feel special even though the venue was packed. I would 100% recommend trying this restaurant.

Apart from the great food and service, my girlfriend is an epileptic and had a seizure whilst at the fish bar and the owners were outstanding and very attentive whilst I dealt with the situation which I thought was really nice.

Booked here to dine with a friend and review some well recommended tapas dishes. Staff were amazing from start to finish, attentive, polite, nothing too much to ask, and above all, friendly. We shared a bottle of white wine which is reasonably priced at £22.50 for a Pinot Grigio and was lovely to drink. We ordered a selection of tapas dishes to share, my favourite being the Gambas Pil Pil, full of flavour and a good amount of prawns in the dish. You were offered complimentary olives with the wine, we declined, but a great addition if wanted. In total we ordered 5 tapas dishes, and one garlic flatbread to share, of which we highly enjoyed 2 tapas. The ones we were not so keen on, for our personal liking, was the patatas bravas, honey soy chicken and the langoustine tails, nothing wrong with the food in terms of the cooking of it, I would say more preferred taste down to the individual. We found the tomato in the patatas Pravas far too sweet, almost like the kind from a tomato purée tube. The langoustine tails were perfectly cooked, my only comment is that it said on the menu with a coconut coating, and we couldn’t taste that at all, the chicken was nicely cooked, just purely not to our taste with the soy being a bit of an overwhelming flavour. The mushrooms, prawns and garlic flatbread were amazing. Full of flavour, good seasoning / spice and I would highly recommend these dishes. Overall, with the absolutely amazing and attentive service, alongside the dishes that we did highly enjoy, the good wine & nice atmosphere, we would definitely recommend a visit, and I’m sure we will return in future.

Highly recommended. Restaurant was buzzing on a Friday night. Excellent service by Kezi - we loved the lighting system to order food / get the bill - I think every restaurant should have one of these! Food was delicious - particular highlights are the Newquay lobster and king prawn sizzler (special) - the sauce was unbelievably good. We also loved the fish croquettes (again, amazing sauce), the monkfish, and the churros.

This place is a hidden treasure that you’ll be lucky to experience if you can get a table!! The dishes are generous portions for tapas and all are bursting with flavour. I will definitely be back again, brilliant atmosphere

We visited Newquay and would reccomnended this amazing place! Even though we were not booked the lovely staff we're happy to accommodated us and my God the food was good 😋...for just under £30 each we were VERY full when we left! Walked in on bank holiday Saturday without a booking. Friendly welcome by the owner and we were seated in the tapas bar. Had a warm vibe, attentive service and felt the staff were all treated as family by the owners making it a real comfortable place. Small tapas menu but every dish was delicious and beautifully presented on a board with bread, olive oil and salad. The meat tapas was outstanding, particularly the steak and the chorizo dishes. There were 2 of us and we loved that we each had a full portion of bread and oil, so we didn’t have to fight over the oil bowl. To top the night off the barman was great, kept a good ear on us and as quick as we ordered with the owner our drinks appeared before she had even left the table. At the end of the night when we ordered a whiskey it was served with a separate shot glass of ice so could decide how much ice to add. It’s all about the small touches. Very happy

We had fantastic meal here, the staff were able to maintain a very high level of service despite the restaurant being at full capacity. I was after some mussells, and they were able to accommodate my request with no problem at all. The food was delicious. They also had a little button on the table to quickly get a waiters attention meaning there wasnt a massive wait despite them being so busy. Chef (about 16) ate most of of our tapas, with his fingers whilst serving our tapas. Illegal and taking the p......Female manager/ owner never came back to us. Waitress said we would get 6 prawns per tapas. We got four and more like shrimps. They talk the talk, but can't walk the walk. Photo's are not what you're getting. Compt everything. Had to go chippy over the road. Disappointed is not an understatement.

Have eaten here many times and it never fails to please. Lovely atmosphere, great staff who are always friendly and helpful plus a superb choice of food with something for everyone. We have taken my 89 year old mother and my 5 year old grandson to eat at the Fish Bar and both have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very busy, vibrant restaurant. Fish Bar offers a large selection of seafood that you can order as small plates or larger dishes. I found scallops a bit overcooked, but the rest of the dishes like mussels, oysters, or seafood espetada were spot on. Nice atmosphere and very helpful staff.
