There is some courageous creativity going on in this kitchen, combined with first class attention to detail front of house. The whole meal was pretty much flawless, everything has been thought about for the benefit of guests, from the chic, subtle decor and music, to the sumptuous tableware and the food is top class. We had turbot and pasta for a main, both combining classic ingredients but in very tasty ways. Dessert will stay in the memory for the decision to combine a chocolate tart with fresh mint, which delivered a very unusual flavour combination (in a good way). Lots of the wines are served by the half litre, which was perfect for us, we went for a Sauvignon gris, which was perfect for a hot summer's evening. Service was excellent throughout, we'll be back.

Gravetye Manor Restaurant

12/06/2018: This is one of the best places I have visited, its atmosphere is intoxicating and the building in such a beautiful condition elegantly furnished and cared for.
02/08/2018: I lunch/dine here on a fairly regular basis, but this was my first visit to the new dining room, which is undeniably beautiful. The gardens at Gravetye are very beautiful and the setting enchanting. All the dishes LOOKED beautiful and exhibited promise, which sadly failed to materialise. The first course was under-seasoned, the second over-seasoned and the third, positively odd. Indeed, the odd flavours persisted throughout the entire meal- everything was relatively palatable and certainly well-cooked, but left one with a vague feeling of disquiet because flavours appeared to be battling each other for ascendancy.

Limes Bistro

22/08/2018: A special Japanese evening with family. Delightful and friendly service with a generous and varied selection of foods. Hope to go there again for a 'regular' meal.
20/04/2018: Great little Bistro with tasty, well-cooked, inventive food and friendly staff. We were given a voucher at Christmas and finally got round to eating at Limes. It's a pretty bistro on the busy but picturesque High Street in Lindfield. We arrived fairly early on a...
