Found this little gem last year been back several times since. Food amazeing. Staff great. Tried the carvery this time again amazing. If you haven't yet been you need to you won't be disappointed.

Asked to leave table after one and three quarter hours

Food was ok and was 10 of us. Service was good too

Faultless Service and Faultless food!

Food was very good and the dishes were as expected. Service was reasonably quick for a Saturday evening. Very nicely decorated and finished venue.

Everything we saw and ate was fantastic. The pie &chips I can personally recommend. Would going again

Called in on the off chance. No problem getting a table. Very friendly and welcoming. I’m a Coeliac but this wasn’t an issue. Discussed what i would like and the meal was fully adapted to ensure it was safe. Nothing was too much trouble. The service was quick, food was very well presented and tasted amazing. We will definitely be calling again, It was also nice to see families dining, it made for a lovely atmosphere

Booked for the family this morning, 5 adults, 3 children. Greeted by a wonderful man upon arrival, who served us drinks in the bar as we where a little early and waiting for a couple to arrive. We where shown to our table in the gorgeous restaurant area overlooking the garden. The service was attentive and we where quickly given menus. The most amazing Sunday lunch experience ensued with starters for the adults and the children's food being served at the same time so that we could relax and enjoy. Roast beef and lamb cooked to perfection as where the vegetables, in abundance, with extra gravy and the best freshly cooked yorkshire pudding. Such a special time spent with family and a credit to the staff and the village. We will definitely recommend and be back soon. Thank you❤️

First visit to this lovely pub. Well worth a visit just for the steak and ale pie. I think it's the best pie I have eaten in a pub or restaurant. Lovely friendly barmaid.

One of the best Sunday lunches we have had in a long time. Cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We were too full for pudding but couldn’t resist when we saw the selection! Delicious. We look forward to returning soon.

Last night, we went to the Ferry Boat with a group of friends. This is an attractive pub restaurant on the banks of the River Trent. There is a good choice of food, including vegan dishes. We chose lamb koftas, pate, chilli prawns, calamari, and mushrooms on toast to begin. Main course were fish and chips, sirloin steak, and Caesar chicken salad. And desserts were white chocolate cheesecake, and chocolate brownie. There is a good selection of wine, beers and coffees. The restaurant was only half full, but other friends were unable to book a table as they were told the restaurant was fully booked. I am told that this frequently happens - not good.

We had dinner at the Ferryboat Bar and Kitchen last night. This is a very attractive pub, on the riverbank, with lots of outside tables and play equipment for children. However, last night it was far too cold be sit outside so we were glad of the warmth and comfort inside the pub. The restaurant was only half full, but despite this some of our other friends had not been able to secure a booking, having being told that the restaurant was fully booked. I am told that this is not uncommon - you would think that most businesses would want to make a profit but this doesn’t seem to apply to the Ferryboat. The food was good, although the chips and battered fish were overcooked and very brown - the fish inside was good though. The other meals were all fine - we had sirloin steak, lamb koftas and chicken Caesar salad. There is a very limited dessert menu but not many people wanted ‘afters’. Service was ok, maybe slightly slow, and cutlery was forgotten but nothing major. Would we visit again? Probably, as this restaurant is local to us, and the food was mostly good.

Lovely lunch at the ferry boat yesterday.. Excellent service .. Love the decor and ambience. Friendly yet very professional, service Superb care from the front of house, Barman. Highly recommend the home-made desserts .. Please, keep the staff that you have in place.. We will definitely revisit. 🙏💫💫

What a rip off !! We all ordered off the lunch time special menu but were charged from the al a carte menu . The manageress refused to budge this is obviously set up to deliberately con people. PLEASE DON’T GO HERE !!

Decent food but management attitude and organisation was shocking. Booked a table for 12.30. Presented with 3 menus. We all chose from the lunchtime ‘light’ menu. 3 French onion soups (asked for 1 gluten free), 2 sausage and mash and a pie. We then ordered two deserts and 3 coffees. - 1 of which was to replace the desert from the three course light menu. We were charged for the meals from the a la cart menu at a cost approx £26 more than the light menu. We obviously told the waiter who referred this to the manager. An apology was given but still insisted on the full price. We could have justifiably refused to pay the extra but it would have created an unpleasant scene. Surely a restaurant should at least compromise on the price. Customer relations for future - shocking. I will not return and will advise friends and relatives of the poor customer service.

Just had the most delicious Sunday roast it was amazing will definately be returning again, the location is stunning right on the river, staff are so friendly and helpful, would highly recommend.

Was in the Scunthorpe area for a night, did the Tripadvisor search for the best restaurant in the area and this place came up. Booked a table and arrived a little earlier than planned. Incredibly friendly guy behind the bar to welcome us - can't understate the warmth of the welcome we received. Decided to take our drinks outside to check the view. The outdoor seating area is immaculately kept. In warmer weather, would definitely have considered dining in the outdoor section, but went back into the restaurant to dine. Really nice selection of beers on tap, coupled with a decent set of wines to choose from too. Annoyingly, had trouble getting on the website, so arrived blind, menu-wise, but there's a great choice of pub classics and more 'upmarket' to select from. Couldn't decide on what to have (did that annoying thing of changing my mind mid-way through ordering), but went for the 10oz gammon steak, which came with some of, if not the best triple-cooked chips I've had, three enormous onion rings in a deliciously light batter, roasted tomato and mushroom and a zingy aniseedy pineapple chutney and a perfectly cooked fried egg atop the gammon. Sometimes the simplest meals can be so poorly executed, but I would struggl to think of an occasion where I'd eaten a better piece of gammon steak than this. When I saw a nearby table being cleared and the empty plate being returned with one of those mini chip baskets restaurants like to use, my heart sank a bit as I thought I was going to get a stingy portion. Nuh-huh - basket full to the brim with the triple-cooked beauts' with a load more on the plate too. In fact, 'eyes bigger than his belly' couldn't finish them. Friend had the sausage and mash, which they said was really good, but I was too engrossed in my own meal to notice! I'd travel the 190 miles from home just to eat there again and come straight back afterwards!

Pretty much faultless. In fact, it was completely faultless! Friendly service, great food with things adapted to meet my fussy demands due to intolerances, and an amazing view of the Trent. I'm literally going to make the two hour round trip again come day of pay!

Had a birthday meal with friends and was extremely impressed with the food and service. Steph and the rest of the staff were excellent. They were very welcoming and you could the warmth as soon as you entered. I am returning for fathers day to treat him to their carvery which I have been told is delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. The beer garden is lovely as well. I also felt the price was very reasonable especially as the food was excellent.

"SUPURB" I can only find the Ferry Boat bar and restaurant, west butterwick, isle of axholme, food and service just SUPURB, and 8f you don't believe me or need evidence then check out the pictures of our food but better still it's lovely outside so don't cook tonight and get down their to soak up the sun with food n a beer in a atmosphere that's like all the staff suburb xx

Called on the off-chance with our dog in the hope they served food. No idea what to expect. The service and food were excellent. Didn’t have to wait long to be served or for the food to arrive. Camembert starter was delicious and well presented (with fresh rosemary from the garden). Steak perfectly cooked and burger with pulled pork was huge. Very clean and well maintained garden and seating areas outside (didn’t see inside). Will definitely call again.

Really disappointed. Arrived at 2:15pm and sat outside on the decking area. My husband went inside to get some menus and was told they wouldn't be able to serve us food for another hour and a half. There was barely anybody in the pub so they wasn't overrun with customers but we were told because we hadn't booked a table this was why they couldn't serve us. We had already tried calling several times from 12:00 to book a table so if staff don't answer the phone how are we suppose to book a table? We've been plenty of times in the past and always enjoyed our food but this has put us off coming again or recommending to other people.

This place is an absolute gem. Beautiful bar/restaurant, fantastic food and great service. There’s also an outdoor seating area with further seating near the canal side.
