We fancied going out for dinner on the last night of our great stay in St Dogmaels. The Ferry Inn had been recommended to us. We rang to book at short notice late on a Saturday afternoon and got a lovely welcome, reassurance about gluten free, come right along. The place is lovely inside, with a light airy boat house vibe. Such friendly people serving, interesting menu that's great for GF, vegan but also some good meat and fish options. Our GF burger and ricotta and spinach pasta were excellent. Fruit cheesecake dessert was delicate and refreshing, but the surprise of the evening was the GF sticky toffee pudding - prior to being diagnosed as a coeliac it had been my partner's absolute favourite pud, so really pleasing to find a GF version for him here. Lovely experience, we were well looked after. We'll be back.

Must rate this Sunday Lunch as the most delicious meal I’ve ever tasted. Beautifully presented and the flavour was just mouthwatering. As a family of five 2 had the chicken , 2 had the belly pork and 1 had the beef. It was seriously outstanding. Put it with the stunning views over the Teifi estuary and lovely staff it is definitely a 10 / 10 from us

So much potential...if the food was any better! Beautiful set up and view, staff very friendly. But then the food arrived - Charging £23 for a what is clearly a frozen seafood basket is daylight robbery and it wasn't any good: Dry, tasteless & unidentifiable fillings. The turkey burger wasn't much better....Cannot recommend unfortunately!!

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service! Beautiful location with big windows to enjoy the views and wildlife. Extremely helpful and attentive, they were able to cater deliciously for a variety of dietary requirements in our party! - With only a little advance notice the kitchen was able to adapt from the menu to produce a bespoke meal for someone in our party with a large number of uncommon food intolerances. It's a great pleasure to have delicious menu options (plural!) for a gluten-free vegan, as well as plenty of choice for the other veggies and vegans - oh yeah and for the non-veggies too! Portions were generous, and everyone was very satisfied, and had a lovely family gathering!

The Ferry Inn in St. Dogmaels is an absolute gem. They went above and beyond, and were amazing with my family 's various allergies and dietary restrictions and requirements, making eating out for this challenging group a breeze! The service? Friendly, patient, warm and welcoming. The views over the estuary through those wonderful picture windows? Stunning. It's more than just a great setting and tip-top food (although the food is really great - justifying all those awards this place has deservedly won in recent years!) it's about feeling totally looked after. Definitely worth a visit - you'll understand why. Well worth the drive.

We came here with our friends for dinner Saturday night. Liz greeted us all with her daughter. She is so welcoming and before she went home ensured we were going to be well looked after. We sat in the bar for drinks before dinner, which was perfect as usual. Two of us had burgers, two had pasta. Burgers were cooked to perfection. The boys also enjoyed their puddings. If we lived closer and not five hours away, we would definitely spend New Years Eve here; it sounds amazing with food and an Elvis singer. Thanks Liz again. We simply love coming here. Xx

The Ferry is now our local and we eat there quite often. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and polite. There is an excellent choice on the evening menu, we particularly enjoy the Italian dishes and also the choice of fish. Sunday lunch is lovely too. The estuary setting is stunning, especially in the daylight. There is a relaxed atmosphere and we can take our dogs into part of the dining area too.

Well this was a pleasant surprise, we wanted a quick meal . I’m sorry we didn’t expect too much BUT this was amazing possibly the best Roast dinner out ever. The four of us each had the roast option beef pork chicken and vegetarian . Everything was quality the carrots even the green kale was lovely. We were on holiday and went for coffee liqueur and pudding so came to £35 per head . The staff were attentive and jolly . Dog friendly which suited us . I have no affiliation with The Ferry but was bowled over by this trip an excellent start to our few days away. Thank you

I have rated a 3 due to very friendly staff, very accommodating of our dog, nice atmosphere and lovely views. The food however was very disappointing. We opted for the Sunday lunch when we saw it brought to another table. It looked amazing. The reality of it, the taste was not. Chewy beef, vegetables like bullets, under seasoned and bland gravy. Crispy kale seemed an odd choice for Sunday lunch but that maybe personal choice. When I pay £20 for a Sunday lunch expect a good standard! This was not. Let’s just say the dog was very happy with the amount of left over meat that she got. She was one very happy customer and I’m sure she’d love for us to return. We will not unfortunately.

What a place to have a pint, or a meal, but I didn’t have dinner there so I can only speak to the beauty and perfection of sitting on the terrace with a pint and watching the boats and bird go by in silence. The service is friendly and the staff are warm and welcoming. The reverend James flows aplenty. Basically it’s a cracking place for a drink with a view and I suspect a very decent restaurant too.

I love this place they are very dog friendly and treat my owners very well too. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to accommodate you. I’ve not tried the food myself but my owners were very satisfied with it - maybe over satisfied as there was no doggy bag for me 😠 The water was lovely and fresh, not sure what the owners were drinking but judging by the amount they drank it must have been delicious as the drank a lot of it. The meal ended with a nice surprise we left the car behind and had a lovely walk home, although the owners must have been tired as they seemed a bit unsteady in their feet. Overall a lovely place and I hope the take me back soon !

We made this our 1st port of call on our holiday and so glad we did. The staff were really welcoming and seated ourselves and our dog into a lovely position in the restaurant overlooking the river. We never had to wait long before someone attended our table to take drink and food orders. The food when it came, (and there was never too long a delay), was cooked to perfection. We tried another local pub with great reviews and although good never quite matched this one. We loved it so much we just had to keep going back. If there was one criticism and it really is picky, is hat the menu could be a bit more extensive or that a specials board might be introduced as it is easy to do the menu in a few days. I would thoroughly recommend going here you won't regret it especially for the view over the river

If you want to take a 2 year old toddler and a dairy free child and a diabetic on insulin for a meal this place is not for you. The 2 year old had to be sat between her parents due to the seven dogs on an adjoining table and very nearby were fighting with vicious growling around her. The dairy free child was served with a burger with cheese on top despite being pre warned when our table was booked and constantly made aware of this during ordering. And the insulin dependant diabetic? She was looking forward to Sea Bass with Roasted Potatoes but was sharing a few chips while she waited so had dosed herself with insulin in readiness. They brought the meals for all the others but hers was never served or even started to be cooked. So she just had fattening chips to eat for her main course. Very sad state of affairs.

Visited here with friends for Sunday lunch, would recommend you book ahead as they get quite busy. Car park in the hotel grounds but if this is full, more parking down the road only a short walking distance away.A nice welcome from the receptionist, then we were asked to sit in the bar and given the menu. Had a drink whilst waiting for our table, lovely surroundings with plenty of comfy chairs to sit in. Restaurant is very traditional with lots of period features.A very good choice of starters, mains and desserts with one main vegetarian option. Three of us opted for the leek and potato soup and one for the salmon. The soup was okay, one had to be returned to be re-heated as it was cold and we all agreed that there was too much balsamic vinegar on top and nobody was able to finish it all. A good choice of bread rolls was on offer with the starters. For the main course 3 had the pork and one the beef. Generous portion of meat, the pork was lovely and tender. The beef was very rare, which wouldn't suit everyone but my husband didn't mind. Excellent selection of vegetables, beautifully cooked to perfection and plenty of gravy. Roast potatoes were very salty. Still and sparkling bottles of water on the table which was a nice touch but I'm not sure whether they were complimentary or not. Pleased to see they use many local suppliers.Nice selection of desserts but we couldn't manage one after the generous portions of starter and main. Opted for tea and coffees, very nice cappuccino served with chocolate mints. I believe the cost was £10.95 for one course. £14.95 for 2 courses and £18.95 for 3 courses which we thought was very good value. Our table was booked for 1.30 by the time we were seated it was 1.45 - this was not a problem but what did annoy our party was the fact that at 3.30 and whilst we were still having our tea and coffees the staff started stripping all the tables around us and setting up for the evening meal so we felt obliged to drink up and go. If this needed to be done before we finished then the least they could have done was explain and perhaps ask us to take our coffees in the bar area - we wouldn't have minded. We all thought this was unacceptable.
