The Ferry in Windsor and Maidenhead

We had a lovely Bank Holiday meal at the Ferry this Monday, the restaurant was very busy and we had a slight wait on drinks but the staff were still attentive and welcoming throughout, as well as food and drinks being delicious! We were served by a lovely gentleman in the downstairs of the restaurant towards the back, unfortunately I didn’t catch his name but he did an amazing job despite how busy it was! Thank you very much and can’t wait to come back again

The Ferry a lovely well maintained Pub Restaurant/Inn with lovely scenic views of countryside and water. A great menu with lots of choice. We were served by Jaymi she was very courteous and welcoming ,the food was full of amazing flavour cooked very well by there chef! Love ❤️ this place would definitely recommend also the coffees are amazing 🤩

Visited The Ferry today and was blown away by the professionalism and care shown by ALL staff and management. When the English weather provided a perfect storm leaving people very little else to do.... the Ferry's no doubt already busy day was inundated by desperate visitors from Cookham, Marlow (and possibly even as far afield as Scotland it would appear based on numbers... ). Not once did I see a staff member grumble or sigh... They just smiled and kept going. Even when faced with some weird and wonderful requests (like the phone in query for a pre-order🤣🤯)..... they just kept on keeping on. The roasts were cooked to perfection despite the huge numbers, the drinks were served cold and refreshing and the atmosphere was inviting and warm.... Despite the clearly hectic schedule of those working. A HUGE hats off to all team members on today. As a fellow hospitality operator... All I could do was sit back and admire the aplomb with which all of you applied yourselves... (Oh .....and thank my lucky stars it wasnt me for once as I sipped upon my nice cold and truly satisfying pints of Aspall's) A MASSIVE round of applause to you all and much thanks and respect. PS at 4 pm as I left, I enquired as to numbers through the door. It was at 500 approx..... AND RISING I WOULD SUGGEST. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Brilliant Sunday roast. Very good service and a good cocktail selection! There is also a vegan menu and gluten free options. Wheelchair friendly if you book downstairs

The staff greeted us upon arrival. Nothing was too much problem for Caitlin & Eva. If you want a relaxing first-class meal overlooking the river Thames then “The Ferry” is the place to go for fine dining. The starters were amazing, and the main course looked and tasted great. Sunday roast dinner was enjoyed by all of us, Chicken, Pork or Beef, lean-cut meats, and generous helpings of vegetables. Summary: The food quality was exceptional & tasted delicious. Yorkshire Puddings best I have ever eaten—outstanding attentive customer service. Great views from our window seat overlooking the river Thames. It was a memorable lunchtime with a very pleasant atmosphere. Don't skip the starters or the desserts. The mini dessert with a hot drink really nice to end our meal.

Definitely recommend visiting the ferry! Staff are always so lovely and attentive and the food is amazing. Very much worth a visit!

Our food was very good however the service not so much. Having expressly requested a good break between starters & mains………sadly our mains arrived within minutes of our starter dishes being cleared. Nor would I expect a young female server do deliver a drink with “there you go my darling”………I am not a fuddy duddy by any stretch of the imagination but this just seemed off to me for the establishment. No saying I would never return but I didn’t feel it was the best experience today having visited previously.

Despite it being a wet, windy, mid January lunchtime - we received a warm, welcome, a cosy atmosphere, attentive service and delicious food!! What more can you ask for? worth a visit…

Sunday lunch Welcome greating and choice of tables on arrival. Lovely decoration, layout including log fires. We had a table with river views. Very friendly, helpful staff with suggestions of wine and tastings. Good selection of roasts all included the very important yorkshire pudding, along with bottomless gravy. Children's menu had a good variety. Lots of choice for desserts too. The staff attentiveness, service really sttod out thank you!!

My daughter and I went for Christmas lunch. We had a booking for 3pm and understandably had to wait to be seated as the restaurant was very busy and staff were waiting to clear tables from the previous sitting. We were shown to our table about 3.10pm. We did not expect a fast service in view of the fact that the staff were extremely busy and it was Christmas Day after all. However we did expect to be served in turn and not always left until the very last before we received any of our courses ! Two tables for 2 people arrived about 20 minutes after us, a table for 4 about 30 minutes after us and a large table for 8 about 45 minutes after us. All these tables were served well ahead of us and had in fact finished their meal while we were still waiting for our dessert. We actually left the restaurant at 5.40pm (that's 2 hours 40 minutes later!). I'm afraid that the so called service was non existent. Empty glasses and a bottle were left on the table and we were basically ignored. I mentioned to one of the waitresses that I thought we had been forgotten and she thought it was funny saying "well you got there in the end!" It took asking 2 more waiters the whereabouts of our food before we eventually were served. I have been to The Ferry many times in the past and always experienced good service and good food so it is a great shame to be writing such a bad review. However I feel that it needs to be said as the "service" really was very bad indeed. On a positive note, I must commend the chef as the food was outstanding.

The Ferry has been my favorite place to go for a long time now. This year I had a chance to also bring my team ☺️ We all had great time and the food was amazing. We all loved the Baileys chocolate martinis 🍸 😁 Also, both Harry and Jackie, were awesome. They were very attentive and friendly ☺️ Thank you for the great evening❤️

We have just had a wonderful meal late in the day on a Sunday. Sunday roasts with all the trimmings. Would recommend highly, great place, lovely atmosphere and really nice staff. Great experience.

I have been to the Ferry on several occasions recently for food and drinks. Extremely warm welcome from all the staff especially Stacey, Nelly and Yuli, who were happy to go the extra mile. Really lovely atmosphere in the downstairs area. Was blown away by the food will definitely be coming back for the dirty burger! Loved the option of a mini pud and hot drink! Can’t wait to go again!

The menu was very varied. On arrival, we received a warm reception and enjoyed a lovely meal. The service from Holly and Jaymi was excellent.

What has happened to The Ferry ? My wife and I went for lunch and it was terrible. We were seated downstairs (the kitchen is upstairs) and the lighting was awful and the air conditioning was not working - result very cold. The service was terrible - just one waiter and he having to go up and downstairs all the time. The food was adequate at best and, of course cold, having had to be brought from so far. We have visited The Ferry in the past and had some enjoyable meals overlooking the river upstairs We will not return.

My partner and I have been to the Ferry on two occaisons recently for food. Once for dinner and once for Sunday lunch. The food both times was very good and tasty. For dinner we were served by Yuli who was excellent, as was Caitlin and the rest of the Team when we went for Sunday Lunch. My only slight criticism is that the Ferry could be more organised when people arrive. We will definitely be back though. Thank you.

Disappointed as the same menu now for a couple of years or seems like it. My partner cannot eat beef and dislikes fish so not a great selection left on the menu unless your a vegetarian. She had the lamb rump before and it was tough and overcooked. so had the pork belly without scallops. I had the same but with the scallops. If you are going to do this please use the best quality Kings Scallops as the ones you are using are yes much cheaper but nearly tasteless. The square of dauphinoise potatoes was not properly cooked so hard and starchy. You are our favourite restaurant which makes it that much harder to criticize you but we haven't been for weeks as I had a new knee fitted so have not been out. Please change the menu and put some other pork dishes on and possibly duck or venison. We will have a break for a while before we try you again. By the way your staff Caitlin and Elle were terrific. Offered us a free pudding to share to try to make up for the spuds etc.

Food good but when it came to coffee there was no pouring cream (?)!and they thought it was fine to squirt tinned cream into a jug! Yuk! Not a great experience waitress and bar staff attitude left much to be desired!!! Great shame as e very thing else lovely up to that point!
