It's ok food not great basic pub grub bit tired looking. Too many tables not cosy wouldn't reccomend..

Had a beautiful breakfast today. I only ordered a small breakfast but it was huge for me, beautifully cooked and presented with toast and a Cappuccino coffee. Great value, service very 😊 good. We will be back.

Me and my girlfriend visited The Fens on Saturday 30th March. We found a lovely table on the upper level and took a look at the menu, given there are no menus online. My girlfriend settled on the Katsu Chicken with half/half rice/chips and I went for the Bacon Cheeseburger without salad. Both of these dishes cost around £11.25 and we both agreed they were fantastic value for money, served in a good time and served piping hot and delicious. For drinks I bought a Guinness which was served nicely, poured in two parts the way it is supposed to be done, followed by a pint of Neck Oil which was very tasty. My girlfriend went for Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime. Unfortunately we didn't get dessert as there wasn't any on the menus on the table, apparently they were written on the specials board but when I looked at the board there wasn't a lot to choose from really so we gave it a miss. The environment was lovely, they had a singer on who was pretty good. The staff were friendly and they had plenty on shift so waiting around for service wasn't an issue. We will 100% be back for more!

Absolutely over the moon with our visit to the Fens. We will be going again definitely. Highly recommended and not to expensive.

Been tonight for bottomless brunch. I was sceptical about was it worth £35 per person but we were a group of 11 and it was worth every penny. The pub was really busy (which was lovely to see) but despite this the service was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and the drinks were replenished regularly. There was a slight mix up with our food order, which I actually think was our fault, but they bent over backwards to rectify. There was a singer on who was brilliant but only complaint was he finished too early - managers took our feedback on board regarding this. Good luck to the new owners of the Fens and their staff, it was lovely to see it so busy and a really good atmosphere - I'm sorry but we will be back 😁

Large full english was best ive had in a while ..

Tasty Sunday roast, the beef was particularly tender, with extra gravy given to each table. Staff were very friendly and bent backwards to get us a table, at a busy time, even though we had not reserved. Atmosphere relaxed and friendly.

Have been here a couple of times. When we've been up to see family. Will be there again on Sunday 21st for Dinner. Loved the food last couple of times great amount of freshly cooked veg. None of the frozen stuff. We come up from Coventry and only use this pub when we go out to eat

Went for the Christmas meal menu. Delicious home cooked food. Excellent portions excellent taste. Definitely will be back to try other things on the menu. Great place for food.

We called in for tea at this pub enjoyed a lovely mixed grill. The pub is spacious so was fine for my mum who is disabled.

Staff efficient and friendly. Unfortunately drinks are more expensive than other local pubs. Hopefully new management will put tables outside for use in good weather.

Out for a family meal and have to say that the Parmo burger was unreal. The staff were friendly, prices are brilliant for what you get and the food was spot on.

Staff were lovely, food was fast and hot. Parmo and chips were delicious. Carbonara was swimming in a crazy amount of oil and grease.

Beautiful home cooked food,Fin said the lamb was delicious and full of flavour, the desserts were fantastic and finished off a lovely meal for mother's day, would highly recommend.

I had the bacon cheese burger, it was huge and homemade, was very tasty but I couldn't eat it all. Staff are very friendly. Reasonably priced. 😃

Nice family meal shame they finish serving at 7pm place got cold later in the evening.

This is our local. Great home cooked food with consistent quality, generous portions and good value prices. Sunday lunch is superb and very popular, you need to book. Regularly have an interesting range of specials, the staff here are friendly and run a tight ship! The Fens is currently up for sale and I hope that the current cooking and bar staff remain after sale. Fingers crossed.

Food is delicious, all fresh home cooked meals, the service is second to none & it’s a very clean, friendly family pub. I go there all the time with family & friends. I would suggest you book your table in advance for Sunday lunch though as you may be disappointed & not get a table as it’s always very busy every Sunday but the Sunday lunches are absolutely beautiful, portion sizes are amazing with every meal too, the small portions are always more than enough for me…great place & I’d more than recommend The Fens for everyone.

The place has changed a bit since last visit quality of food gone down no idea if they changed kitchen staff but it's on a downward spiral sadly.

Lovely atmosphere and good food

After visiting the nearby shops I called in for a pint , nice comfortable pub. Decent pint, good menu.

Called in for tea in between hospital visiting for four of us. Always very welcoming, service very good and quick. Food is always very tasty, hot and good portions. All four of us had different meals and the consistency was excellent. If you have not tried it, give it a go.

I was one of a party of 16 people celebrating a 60th birthday who attended the fens pub last night for a meal, the food was pre ordered due to it being a large party, all meals were served together which was piping hot, food well presented and really tasty, staff were friendly and very attentive. Thank you all for a lovely evening x

Great food and good prices, the only thing that drops it a star for me is the lack of any real ale or beer selection, John Smiths or nowt unfortunately.

Impromptu trip for afternoon food as I had seen the chips and they looked amazing. The food did not disappoint, for the price point the southern fried chicken wrap with chips was absolutely brilliant value and utterly delicious. Service was fantastic. Only complaint was the beer selection, only John Smith's on draft and none bottled. Food 9/10, Service, 10/10, Beer 6/10 Overall 8/10. Will definitely go back and try the pie!

Not the best ,heard good reports about it , It wasn't a good start as the wheelchair entrance is a piece of battered old board ! Also with double doors, I ordered steak & ale pie as you can see from the photo I never knew pies come in cups , with a piece of puff pastry on top , pub looks very tired, won't be back ,

Held our daughter and daughter in laws wedding reception here, food was fabulous, 18 people catered for all freshly cooked and hot, staff were very attentive could not do enough for the party x

Had a lovely afternoon with family. We had lunch . I had the chicken Kiev , it was huge and blooming lovely. Staff were friendly and really nice. Altogether a very pleasant afternoon.

This is a great pub with a fantastic atmosphere and the food is top drawer!

Went in with a friend for lunch. Had the slow braised steak. We got carrots, cabbage and chips with the meal and the gravy had chopped carrot in it. The meat was tender and it was a generous portion. Staff were very nice too. If my mum had served this up at home I'd have been happy. Just like home cooking.

Went for a few drinks on bank holiday Sunday. Was told they were going to close early as there wasn’t many people in. Refused us another drink and it was only just after 9pm. Won’t be going again.

Good food as always, best to book a table and get there early. We always go at 12 noon because its usually a family meal and that time is best for us and always wait a good hour but the food is freshly cooked and always nice. Chicken parmo is nice and the fish and chips too.

Went for Sunday lunch. Staff very friendly excellent service. Lunch was lovely, no skimping on anything. Too much for someone with small appetite but tasty everything freshly cooked. Next time might ask for children's size. Definitely recommend.

Very disappointing, in the past the food has been great, but today I found it tasteless, overpriced and undercooked, also found out that you can't get a smaller meal, as most pensioners have small appetites. The only good thing about it was the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Went with family for a meal as recommended it was atrocious never in my life have you had to pay for you meal up front and to be asked before you get it will you be having a sweet what I thaught was going to be a lovely evening turned out to be very dissapointing not amused one bit needs to change their policy and manners will not be going again

Attended as part of a family night out, food was good quality and a fast service especially with the social distancing measures in place. Well priced with the Eat out to help out promotion Only downside the chairs could do with a refurb as there rock hard with littlr vack support.

Visited recently we ordered the potato skins when it arrived the presentation was Terrible a blob of garlic drip just on the plate. Our table was in the bar area noisy and crowded main course came on a skillet with a side plate of chips again presentation very poor. Will not be returning.

Took parents out for tea for dads birthday. Lovely food again. Gammon and egg, lamb shanks, steak and ale pie. All delicious and freshly made. Only criticism was the mushroom pizza which could’ve been a bit better topped.

Delicious lunchtime food- excellent idea serving a ‘slimmer’s menu’, it certainly was popular on this particular Friday! Great idea to give those watching their waistlines an option for eating out without the worry! Catered to my food intolerance perfectly! Even the babies loved the kids’ menu!

Family of four went for new year lunch which did not disappoint. As usual service was vey friendly , prompt and efficient. Our meals were all delivered together, piping hot good home cooking and reasonably priced. Lovely relaxed atmosphere even though it was very busy. Highly recommended.

Christmas get together with family. This is a great local welcoming pub restaurant staff are pleasant and helpful,service at the bar was spot on There was eight of us including two young kids. The meals arrived in prompt time all together and piping hot. My son had the full Parmo a specialty in these parts others could only manage the half version all said brilliant. There’s a good varied menu reasonably priced. Over all a very nice evening nice surroundings and good honest food thanks to all at the Fens

It was a Christmas meal for all of our 16 art group members and although the presentation and some staff were great all our members agreed that the meal itself was totally disappointing, you could tell at first glance that this there was little in the way of it`s presentation. the Turkey looked like it was rolled turkey at least that`s what it looked like, the Yorkshire puddings were absolutely cremated, the veg felt as though it had been warmed up and to make matter worse most of it was cold. Later the group discussed this venue and it was agreed that we will be giving the Fens Hotel a mess next time.
