Arrived with 3 kids on a Saturday- greeted warmly and gave a choice of served table or someone more casual where you ordered at the bar Opted for table in restaurant Our server verity was amazing should just understood our table dynamic 1 adult and 3 kids Kids went for starters Mains and deserts Restaurant was busy but nothing was too much trouble for verity Food was promptly served and service was spot on I went to tip by card and verity mentioned it was not possible There are so many e tip jars either prompting to add on the bill or other 3rd parties I had no cash and came away disappointed i could reward verity as such You’re very lucky to have such a great person in your establishment

What has happened at The Farmhouse? Totally inadequate staff hence long waits and poor service. Such a shame as the food is okay when you finally get it. One very pleasant young lady doing her best, occasionally helped by a young lad who really had no idea but not his fault. Sort yourselves out management or you'll be losing customers. We certainly won't be rushing back.

We got married at the Farmhouse yesterday! And I say with absolute confidence that the venue & staff are absolutely amazing and helped make the process over the last year up until the day itself so easy, comfortable and special. As well as the staff, the rooms are absolutely beautiful, the food is phenomenal (and we often pop for lunch when we can it's amazing!). Thank you so much to The Farmhouse for helping make our dream come true

Parking was near impossible as only one space available after driving around and waiting, we very nearly gave up and was thinking of trying the Mundy Arms. However once in we had nice service from the receptionist and Olly was very good and attentive. The meals were great but my Ice cream sundae was disappointing and the lack of a correct long handled sundae spoon didn’t help. I was given a desert spoon initially and then had to settle for a tea spoon!

We haven’t been to the Farmhouse for about a year and used to visit quite regularly but today we were so disappointed. I was taken aback at the prices of the drinks… to be charged £11.25 for a glass of Pinot Grigio is dreadful… scandalous… will not be returning…

I wrote about not being able to eat dairy when I booked but there was no information readily available about this. When I asked the waiter he advised to look at the app which showed very limited dishes (I asked which of the roast items I’d be able to eat, as it’s likely that the roast didn’t appear on the menu as the Yorkshire puddings usually have diary in). It took the manager getting involved to get an answer. It’s a shame as it delayed our order and made it disappointing. The food and service were great.

The venue has a lovely ambience and a nice style and design to it. It would be nice on a special occasion. The food was expensive for what it was, for the prices, I’d have expected something a bit special like local ingredients. The desserts in particular were a total rip off!

We booked a meal for 7 on a Thursday night which is also steak night with 30% off. We sat on a table with ample space for all 7 of us. The waiter was great, being there for anything that we needed including extra sauces and drinks. The food was freshly cooked and tasted great. The steaks were perfectly cooked to what was requested. We was disappointed the rhubarb roulade was unavailable, We will just have to visit again to have it!! Our first visit but won’t be our last.

We hired the Library Room at The Farmhouse for my late father's 'Celebration of Life' gathering following his funeral. This proved to be just the right sized venue for approximately 45 - 50 guests. We wanted to decorate the room with family photos and flowers the night before and this wasn't an issue. I would definitely recommend paying a bit extra in order to have the white table linen option, this brightened the room significantly. The food was lovely and we were allowed to make a couple of tweaks to things such the sandwich fillings/quantities beforehand - we wanted lots of egg mayo, my Dad's favourite and this wasn't a problem. We also requested an alternative veggie sausage roll option as the butternut squash option wasn't to our taste. Again, this wasn't an issue to amend. Many thanks to Paige who oversaw our booking. Her communication and professionalism throughout the organisation of this event was much appreciated. We have since had many compliments regarding the venue, relaxed atmosphere and the food. I would definitely recommend The Farmhouse to anyone looking to host a similar event.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Not somewhere we would normally go as the wine is too expensive. But I’m glad it didn’t put us off because our food really was amazing. We have started to go out every Sunday to different restaurants to compare the Sunday lunch and can honestly say this is by far the best, better than a local Michelin star restaurant.

WOW, but not in a good way. Friday night we popped in for a drink and a meal, the place is deserted and I can see why. £35 for a ribeye steak and peppercorn sauce, a bottle of Prosecco £35 (favola £9.99 Tesco). We have decided to leave and pop across the road to the Mundy Arms, review for follow.

The food was excellent, all clearly homemade rather than the ultra-processed rubbish you find in many pubs and restaurants. Particularly loved the bruschetta and the cheesecake but it was all really very good indeed. Experience was slightly marred by the service. We were shown to our table and then waited 15 minutes to receive menus - which we only got by flagging down a passing waitress. Again after we had eaten our main course the table wasn’t cleared for a good 20 minutes and we had to flag another waitress (not ours) to order dessert. The restaurant was very busy, but maybe you need more staff? Or a bit more training? I certainly don’t like being rushed in a restaurant but this was a whole other level - it felt like we were wearing invisibility cloaks! However, the food was great so we will definitely be back!
