Ordered a takeaway for a little indonesian brunch with my flatmates today. We were delighted with the food, generously portioned, super yummy and it was ready in 20 min. The service was amazing, the lady (sorry, didn't catch your name) was so kind and nice, really made my day. So happy to have this little gem of a shop next to our house. Highly recommended!

This coffee shop also has an Indonesian menu. I haven't tried their coffee, but did get a take-away with the best Beef Rendang and Mi Goreng I have ever tasted. Previously, I have had both dishes in their Malaysian form - Indonesian is not as spicy, but the flavour is great. This is now my favourite take-away and, when I can, I will go and eat in. And probably try a coffee and a cake too!

A friend and I stopped here for lunch after a walk. It’s a very limited menu (2 x sandwich choices and about 6/7 Indonesian dishes, plus a selection of cakes), and we both went for a cheese and tomato sandwich. It was a very delicious toasted Emmental and tomato sandwich on sourdough served with crisps and salad. The lady serving was very friendly and welcoming. I needed bread after my walk, hence the sandwich, but I will definitely be back for the rendang!!

I was passing through with my other half so thought I'd pop in as I had great experiences in the past and have also visited the coffee shop's parent business 'The Eagle Tavern' (upon doing some research I found out both are owned by Marcel Nerpas who was on Master Chef- The Professionals some years back, I will review at some point).Unfortunately - the young lady who was in charge last time I visited wasn't there so things weren't quite as good as they were in the past and it would be good if the menu could be freshened up a bit. Without the manager there, the service was a bit hit and miss but Marcel's recipes saved the day and the coffee was good. Hopefully next time I pop in Marcel will put some samples of his tasty dishes from the Eagle Tavern on the menu and the manager will be back to make sure things run a bit more smoothly (The waitress tries hard and is very pleasant but maybe lacks experience).Would still recommend though.

We had a lovely meal at the Faringdon Coffee house Friday evening. We had a lovely warm greeting and opted to start with the Indonesian vegetable fritters accompanied by so hot and hotter sauce while we started our Prosecco and settled in. Having wetted our taste buds I opted for the beef Redang curry that can with coconut rice, crackers and salad garnish while my partner had the chicken noodle supreme. Both were delicious. I noticed that there were English options too, like lamb stew. Not an exhaustive menu, but plenty to tempt you. Excellent, friendly service and bring your own booze. Bargain.

I visited Faringdon for a meditation afternoon at the lotus retreat & had some time to kill before the session. I parked in the Sudbury house hotel and asked the reception staff for directions to the folly. Long story short the folly was stunning & I planned to stop at the bar for a sandwich on my way back . I sat in the restaurant garden for 20 mins - didn’t get served so thought I ld venture down to the market town to see what eateries where available by this time it was 2pm and I was starving. The lady at the faringdon coffee house was lovely and friendly and polite & I chose a butter chicken and spicy coleslaw freshly baked sourdough sandwich - OMG it was so tasty & not expensive with a lovely dressed salad - however there were Indonesian choices on the menu & also very reasonably priced & I wish I’d gone for one of them because if a chicken sandwich can taste that good ! - goodness knows how amazing thier noodles are !!!

I grew up in Singapore and miss home - imagine my surprise when I saw a sign for "Indonesian Food" on an unassuming coffee house window. Faringdon Coffee House looks like regular coffee joint, but is run by two friendly Indonesian sisters, who are more than happy to either chat away about South East Asia, or leave you alone to get on with it. I had the mi goreng, which was a heaping great plateful. I was probably making some very inappropriate noises while eating, it was so good! I would love to see more Indonesian items creeping onto their menu, such as Nasi Uduk (my son's favourite) or Siomay. It would be great to push Farindon's tastebuds well and truly out of their comfort zone!

Visited here on a Saturday evening with friends who had dined here on several occasions and said we would be impressed. The place is small and rustic looking with charming hosts, a husband and wife team who instantly made us feel welcome. I am a life long disliker of chick peas and hummus, finding it gritty and unpleasant. I am pleased to say that my husband and I adored the hummus and falafel starters, flavoursome and a lovely smooth texture. The maincourses were all tasty and well presented, we had a taste of each others food, there are vegetarian, meat and fish options. The Lebanese bread is lovely but the star of the show was the rice, boiled with a hint of cumin spice. We sampled a lovely Lebanese rose wine which was reasonably priced. To round things off baklava a middle eastern delicacy. Great service throughout, food all cooked fresh to order. This place is a hidden gem, my only wish I could move it to Aberdeen where I stay!

Samira makes everyone so welcome that it's a pleasure to return. The coffee is excellent, also good for lunchtime snacks and the Lebanese food very tasty.

Just what Faringdon needs - a warm welcome, excellent Lebanese food, great coffee and cakes. And the best view out on the Market Place.

We visited The Coffee House for an evening meal having read the very good reports on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed, the taste and flavouring of our main courses were delightful. The owners, who cook and serve in the restaurant were very helpful over menu choices. The house wine was reasonably priced and to our liking. However, we all felt as if we should leave soon after we finished eating as glasses were cleared away prior to all our group 'drinking up' giving the feeling that we should not linger. Such a shame but maybe lessons need to be learnt in this area.

My husband and I visited the Coffee House for dinner and was very pleasantly surprised, the service and food was outstanding. Lovely atmosphere very relaxing, not over priced and well presented. The owner was full of information about the history of Faringdon, which was very interesting. Looking forward to our return and feeling lucky we have found this little piece of paradise not many miles from home

What better way to celebrate our daughter's birthday than a visit here for dinner. Service was very good. Food was delicious and not over priced. Did have a wait between starter and main course but we didn't mind as the atmosphere was great and everyone was chatting. Cannot wait to return for lunch next week to try their Lebanese sharing platter. This little venue is just what Faringdon needs. Recommend to all but, there again, should I keep this little gem to myself?

Looking for a place to have lunch, we nearly walked past, thinking it was just a coffee shop. Fortunately we noticed the poster in the window advertising Lebanese food. So pleased we went in. The food (lebanese platter) was absolutely delicious with a great selection of dishes. Well presented and very tasty. The service from the owner was great - very friendly and relaxed. Will definitely be returning. A great place to eat.

Ok, I admit that I'm a coffee snob - I roast and grind my own and appreciate where coffee is well prepared - this place was one of them. you choose the type of beans you want and they are ground just before your coffee is made! Not only that but the service was fantastic - a very friendly and lovely young lady - and the food was superb too. We didn't stay for the main dishes but the cakes were lovely and we will come back to try something more substantial as this experience was so good.Customer service counts for so much but the wonderful coffee and cake made this a ten star experience and I don't say that very often!

You wouldn't expect an Afghan/Lebanese coffee house in Faringdon but luckily they have got this delightful place. We liked it so much we came back for dinner, which was great, with famous wines and beer from the region. Served with charm by a delightful husband and wife team.

The right host and hostess, good ambience and middle Eastern food cooked by a very good chef. The food is fresh tasting, light, non greasy and a good price. My favourite is the chicken shawarma, do not be put of by the description "marinated in vinegar" as they use a very mild variety and you cannot taste it in the dish. Only complaint is the restaurant is usually fully booked on a Friday and Saturday. Fabulous place, do yourself a favour and check it out.

Spur of the moment lunch on a sunny weekday. Nice interior, but we wanted to eat outside. This was ok but choice of tables limited apparently due to lack of staff ?. Food ok but we are pretty fed up of ordering meals with 'triple cooked chips' and getting something no better than supermarket oven chips. Service was good, venue nice enough but wouldn't probably go back

Popped into this little cafe for the first time today, and it definitely won’t be our last visit! Really inclusive menu, lovely friendly staff, and a great selection of ‘on-site baked’ cakes available. Dog friendly too. Well worth a visit 😊
