The Fair O'Blair in Perth & Kinross

The breakfast here was the worst food I’ve ever had. Ordered 2 breakfasts which include a fried egg. When they arrived with scrambled eggs I queried this to be told that they didn’t have any eggs! Not told this when ordering or when food brought to the table. The scrambled eggs were disgusting and the rest cold when brought to the table. Won’t be back!

Absolutely terrible ! A rotund Manager on a power trip with an attitude problem !!! I was banned for life for vaping on the pavement outside which Wetherspoons do NOT own !! Food was vile I passed by the kitchen and heard the chef shout that he had sharted !! Wasn’t hungry after that . Manager needs serious training in customer service I witnessed him argue with three separate people in the space of one hour ! Avoid this place it used to be good I’ve went for years it’s went proper downhill under the new manager . Ps tell him to invest in some deodorant as well , not a good look trying to get on his high horse whilst stinking .

Got 2 drinks for not a lot of money so good start. Found a table and selected our meals from the menu. Young member of staff walked past us a couple of times before we had to ask her if she could assist us. She told us we had to order and pay at the bar, which we duly done, still good so far. The meal duly came, there was no condiments on the table so we asked the girl for some. She returned with 4 or 5 small sachets of salt and pepper, no sauces or vinegar and walked off before we could say anything. I ordered a steak and chips, I got a burnt steak and burnt chips, My wife ordered fish chips and peas, the peas were the only thing NOT burnt on her plate. Verdict: Go for cheap drinks, avoid the food.

The meal was good and value for money but the staff serving was surly and unhelpful. A pity! Might be different on another day but has made me reluctant to recommend the restaurant.

My wife and I are great afficanados of Wetherspoons and we are on an adventure to visit as many as possible. Have to say that were disappointed with the Fair O' Blair, not one of the best. We were seated in the "Beer Garden" which to be honest is a bit of an exaggeration, as it's really like sitting in a back yard. We are vapers and the area we were in was not displaying any notices to prohibit people from doing so. Other customers were also vaping, NOT SMOKING, and a young staff member said he cannot allow us to do this, despite the lack of signage. We also pointed out that we were not smoking. He said he was only doing his job which is fair enough. We ordered 2 Haggis and Cheddar panninis with a portion of chips. When they arrived, it looked like a haggis" sausage" had been dumped on a pannini and some cheese thrown on the top. They were lukewarm and the chips were actually cold. When I took them back, the staff member rolled his eyes as if to say" I can't be bothered getting replacements" When the "new" ones arrived, my guess is that they chucked the cold ones in the fryer for a few seconds and plated them up again! The beer was fine by the way, and very reasonably priced, but we won't be going out of our way to return here.

absolutely horrible. chicken burger was burnt and tasted like fish, chips were burnt. onion rings weren’t cooked. macaroni bites burnt hillumi fries burnt. chicken bites… BURNT. absolutely minging. wouldn’t recommend to anyone. wouldn’t even feed this to our dog. staff were rude and chucked the food down on our table. left over half our food.

Pre moving to the area we thought this place was great! Affordable food and decent service and always busy. 3 years on it seems understaffed, although I can't complain about the speed of service as others have - but the food is mediocre at best and frankly the filthy state of the upholstery and carpet today made me sanitise my hands on the way out!!!

Absolutely shocking service tonight in this establishment. Waited for at least 45mins for food, which sat at the pass for at least 20mins. One waitress, very young girl, whom I felt really sorry for. Meals were backed up, one woman never even received her food, but her partner did!!! Our food was mediocre, warm..ish...my steak was definitely not well done, but partners was.....2 bar staff, 1 waitress, full pub of punters looking for good food, good service, good price were certainly let down tonight. Won't be back here, won't recommend either....wetherspoons, get your act together.

Looking for an outdoor space to have a drink and had dog with us. A drayman (we think) helped to get us a table and started to arrange a table and chairs. The beer garden was not very inviting to start with but no sooner had table been arranged when a very officious young man appeared saying " no dogs allowed in beer garden". Wow no sorry just that announcement. It was hardly a beautiful space and as a responsible dog owner we are prepared for "eventualities". I quickly checked around and no signage visible to this effect. Poor customer service and a very uninspired "beer garden".

Visited here today with my wife for lunch. Everything started off fine, I ordered the fried chicken burger and pint of San Miguel lager and my wife ordered a baked potato with tuna and a soft drink. Went back to the table with our drinks and I took a first sip of the pint which was flat and tasted horrible, obviously the end of keg. I went back to the bar and was extremely annoyed to be ignored, with the barman making it quite obvious he was ignoring me. After waiting approximately 10 minutes, by which time our food had arrived at the table, I managed to catch his attention to tell him that the pint was off and left it on the bar. After almost finishing my food, I went back to the bar where he totally ignored me again, by this time three other staff members appeared from where they had been eating their lunch together and they ignored me too, all of them just drifting about pretending to be busy and not helping customers at the bar or serving food. Eventually, I managed to catch the barman' attention and asked for the beer (which was still sitting on the counter) to be changed. He rambled a heap of excuses about how he was so busy and hadn't had time to change the keg. On top of this, the food was awful. Nobody checked to see if it was OK, the brioche bun was soggy and the chicken was terrible and chips were dried up. The baked potato was so solid that my wife thought she had cracked her tooth on the skin. A total letdown for Wetherspoons. We wish we had supported one of the local independent establishments for food instead. Someone needs to sort this place out, as we will never eat here again.

Food was good and served quickly. However our table was unclean and had to get menus from another table. No one checked to ask if our meals were okay. We were then served our desserts and the plates from our main courses left on the table. Our table was not cleared or checked on our whole visit and there was other customers having to clear their own tables. There were tables needing cleared when we arrived and were still untouched when we left. This used to be an enjoyable place to eat with friendly, attentive service. However not anymore.

29&30/8/22 - Monday eve late dinner & Tuesday breakfast. We three Middle aged guys from London were on a driving and camping tour of Scotland. We had set up our tent at a basic campsite at dusk a couple of km east of Rattay and wanted a meal and a drink. On driving back to the village at about 8:30 we found the Chippy (we had passed earlier when it was open) closed amongst other venues and nothing at all available for our needs. We went on the one way system and suddenly a JDW was in front of us! This was totally unexpected and we had basically found heaven! We parked up directly opposite and in we went to order (via our app at 9:09) a haggis pizza, fish & chips and a beef madras along with the associated drinks in their deal. By 9:16 we were toasting! Within five more minutes our food arrived, piping hot, served by a friendly waitress. As pescatarians usually, we had decided to deviate from our usual home diet and try out the madras and haggis pizza. They were surprisingly good! The fish and chips were the usual food standard with mushy peas and crispy (hurrah!) chips. The beers were good and helped us wash the food down. We were so grateful this place existed (we usually look ahead but thought it would not be an option this remote so did not research). I asked the barmaid if it had been open long, she said a few years. On the way out A blue plaque said since 2013 in the old Woolworths. We left back to the camping happier and sated! We returned in the morning for the (this time veggie) breakfast too which was the usual high standards along with the bottomless coffees included in a deal. This set us up for our long drive to Skye to camp another three nights....

Great beer, proper, polite service. Friendly staff, sadly usual squeely kids with no parental control but becoming a common issue with Wetherspoons.

We were in Blairgowrie on a Friday and decided to eat here as it had a good choice of food and drinks for everyone in our group. We ordered with a polite, helpful young lady at the bar who also poured all our drinks. Our food was delivered hot and promptly to our table. Everyone enjoyed their tasty meal which was a substantial portion and we didn't make it to dessert! The cost was very reasonable for the quality of food and drinks and we would definitely return here if staying in the area again.

I enjoyed the couple of hours I spent at this well appointed pub in the centre of Blairgowrie so much so that I ended up dining here on all the four evenings that I spent in the town. On entering via the one way system I completed a form to note my details and found my own table after taking my own paper menu that contained virtually every meal possible. I ordered from the bar though I could have done so from my table. The food was excellent and great value for money served by courteous and efficient staff. My drink, a refreshing glass of lime soda, was included with the price of a meal. My only complaint was that the toilets were situated up a flight of stairs though there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor. All in all, a good dining experience which was just about my first taste of a Wetherspoons establishment and it certainly won't be my last.

Started off good, names taken,used the app to order drinks, staff delivered to table wearing masks. 1 hour later people just walking in unchecked, waiting at the bar to order and even saw one family come in sit at a dirty table, move the plates off it and pull up an extra chair. We had had enough by then and went out the exit door that was obviously to difficult for some!

Be prepared to get what you paid for.Good coffee with free refills.Toilets a long walk away from the entrance.

Looking for somewhere to have lunch in Blairgowrie we were recommend to try this place. Covid rules were in force at the time of writing. We were shown to our table and our order was taken. The food that was served was really good, couldn't fault it. The great thing about it being a Wetherspoons is that your coffee is bottomless, however you weren't allowed to use the same cup, a new cup had to be used every time, just ask the servers at the bar. As usual you had to register your visit on a piece of paper which was deposited into a box at the end of the bar. Although we hadn't booked we got seated no problem at around 12.30ish. It was really busy when we left, if you have a large party better avoid dinnertime. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented.

We were staying down the road and ate here in the evenings, good food at fair prices. Service was quick and food piping hot.

I was going to give this meal 4 stars but changed to 5 as when I asked for tartare sauce they sent out a member of staff to get me some as they had run out. Now that’s great service!!A mix up with peas meant that two at our table got the wrong type but that was a small issue in an otherwise lovely meal.

Always a good meal and service is fast. Drink is cheap and have a really good selection of wines, beers/lager, spirits, gins and other liquors as well as soft drinks and hit drinks. Staff have always been friendly and approachable. Nice relaxed atmosphere to sit and have a chat with friends or a meal with the kids.

We were here on a Friday night and Saturday afternoon in January, it was busy both times so must be popular with the local people which is always a good sign. Had my first ever Weatherspoons pizza VERY good. Staff friendly even when very busy. As always with Weatherspoons great selection of drinks.

A cold bitter night in Blairgowrie and we decided to check out the local hostelry.Started off looking at a restaurant in the area where there were only 2 tables taken. Appeared cold so decided to try The Fair O Blair instead. Lots of people inside and the minute you walked in it felt cozy. The food was good. It was steak night so I had the sirloin steak. Medium cooked good baked potato and veg. To add to that a bottle of palatable red wine. Then desserts yummy. Chocolate fudge cake and ice cream was delicious. My husbands apple crumble and ice cream looked also tasty.Would highly recommend. Good value for money on a cold night In Blairgowrie. Well done!!!

Escape the cold and enjoy a lovely well presented meal, I had the lamb shank ..... delicious and my daughter ordered from the burger deal also lovely, we both had a beverage included in the meal price, it would be nice if they had had some mint sauce, just a suggestion. Table by fire became vacant so we moved and enjoyed a coffee there, lovely atmosphere to while away the time, will certainly go back.

First time i have been to a Wotherspoons establishment. Nice building and interior was ckean although the table was a bit sticky. Service is super quick but waitress wasn't the friendliest person I've met. Food was nice but maybe could have been a bit warmer. A major gripe is why are the toilets up so many stairs?? I have trouble walking up and down stairs so this was a big problem for me. Not disabled so ethically i couldn't use disabled toilet on ground floor.

The Fair O'Blair used to be Woolworths in the Main Street, Blairgowrie. Transmogrified by Wetherspoons, it is quite the most charming and well decorated pub with food and drink at great prices and with an atmosphere well worth experiencing for yourselves. I chose their all day breakfast and the lady I accompanied had a great looking fish supper. We were thrilled with both the friendly service and wonderfully prepared food ... But the real thrill was the great value for money here ... For heaven's sake, you could have had a proper steak meal for just a bit over a tenner. And a good selection of wines and beers to boot. This one was tidy, but pretty busy on the last day of October ... I left replete and amazed that it was just not fully packed out.

first time in this pub with me and my friend I had a large Scottish breakfast and he had a roll and bacon/sausage and pepsi filter coffee was good lovely pub and setting in a nice town nice interior and décor will be back again good value for money

Slow service, spit on toilet floors, food all over the floors, food served to the wrong table, tasteless food, greasy slimy food, tables and floor are sticky and covered and food, customers screaming and swearing everywhere, tables don't get cleaned after customers leave... so basically I don't recommend this place at all.

We ate here on a Friday lunch time. It was busy but we got a table. Ordered on the app as it was very busy at the bar. The toilets are up 2 flights of steps so not ideal for some. The service was good. The cutlery supplied was dirty and the chips tasted like they’d been cooked in dirty oil so not the best.

Happily surprised to find a Wetherspoons in Blairgowrie. Good quality beers and spirits at very competitive prices . Quite busy but good orderly service , clean tables and toilets. Vast range of beers / spirits with special offers at discounted prices. Did not eat there but came back for breakfast on our last day ( instead of the Hotel). Good choices , good food and very competitive pricing. Just as busy for breakfast as it is at night.

On our first visit.. the eggs Benedict was ok.. though hardly any ham... Tea that night was reasonable.. the steak was tasty but very grisly.. Breakfast the following morning was a total disaster.. no eggs Benedict.. no poached eggs full stop.. ok can you grill me a vegetarian breakfast.. no sorry.. everything has to be fried.. scrambled eggs on toast then .. with a side of beans.. ( which were cold) on each of these visits.. no sweeteners were available.. Tables were left littered with plates... This Spoons looks lovely... but lacks the professionalism of most of the others I've been... distinct lack of management

Dropped in for a meal at about 4pm, so reasonably quiet. Ordered three meals and drinks that were delivered within minutes. Two pizzas that were excellent and haggis, neeps and potatoes that was also very good. Very well presented and absolutely great value for money. Staff were friendly and chatty. Thoroughly recommended.

On a recent visit to Blairgowrie we came upon the fair o’ blair . Before any one says oh no not another Wetherspoons . The quality of the food as second to none and great value well done.

Went in with friends in the afternoon large open friendly bar with tables if you want to eat food. Great selection of draught beers also local guest beers to try friendly polite staff quite quiet during weekdays good prices on some draught beers plus other offers on cocktails etc. Place was very clean quite a few having lunch and it looked good.

The food is lovely and the choice is great as it is a spoons.

I had been in this bar before and I thought it was quite nice, however on my trip this time I visited again, we bought a drink then sat down to look at the menu, only whilst sitting down and looking around we started to notice the state of the place, lots of tables left with dirtly plates/glasses on, the place was just generally a mess, I did hear from a table next to us that they wouldnt have fed the food to their dog. My advice is to avoid at all costs

Fair O’ Blair, is fine in terms of value for food and drink, but is has to be the worse Wetherspoons for service, if you expect even the basics, such as clearing and cleaning tables! Even when it’s not that busy, the staff cannot seem to see tables full of dirty plates and glasses. They pass by on numerous occasions, empty handed and don’t think to take anything with them when going back to kitchen.We were there Sunday and a group of diners that had been there most of the afternoon(who were just getting up to leave when we sat down) said no one had cleared for last couple of hours. Lots of tables with glasses and plates that remained, even when it got much quieter. Some staff can be quite rude, even when we attempted to book a table in advance in the past, we were told, we couldn’t as too busy and just to” take a chance to get a table”. Got there and tables were reserved for others?? I know you get what you pay for, but hot food, clean tables and staff that are not rude is surely a minimum?

I was staying in a local hotel and went to their dining room at 1845. By 1950 my wife and I still hadn't been served with our meal so gave it up as a bad job. We got our jackets on and walked to the Fair o' Blair. At 2005 we gave our drinks and meal order to the lassie behind the bar. Eleven minutes later we were eating our evening meal. It was tasty as well. That's what I call efficiency.

After a day in the hills decided to try fair o Blair, we found the food very good at a good price (which included a drink) for around 7 quid, bargain. Ate there for the 4 nights of our stay. Good pub food for a good price and good service from the staff. Well done all and thank you. Ray & Bob

Stopped here for a few meals and drinks while visiting the area. The drinks are probably the cheapest around. The meals were good but chips were cold the first night. Would recommend the pizzas though

My husband and I came into Blairgowrie for cocktails while on a wee mini break. The staff were lovely, we had a haggis pizza first time for us but really good.!

The fish and chips were excellent. Baked potato with Tuna was small with salad, nice but for the cost was okay. The restaurant was busy and everyone seemed happy which is always a good sign.

As We drove past we noticed the Witherspoon brand. So next morning we went in for breakfast. We were not disappointed. Plenty and a great price. Staff friendly. I had the big breakfast. Great.

Knew we cant bring our dog in ,as we are both educated adults C E O and Scottish Police However got told cant even sit outside in garden bar or at 2 tables outside front of property As 22 percent of population own a dog and 640,000 dogs in scotland most welcome most places but not in the FAIR O BLAIR in blairgowrie SO many thanks for sending us away WE found we were welcomed with open arms and dog treats at the dreadnought inn with great garden bar

Friendly staff. Atmosphere was very good. Food very good. Very reasonable priced. Lunch for two including pint lager and large glass of wine was less than £12. Excellent value for money.

We were in here on the Friday and Saturday when we styed in Blairgowrie for a weekend.

All these weatherspoons are nicely kitted out with good food. This one is in the heart of the town and went for breakfast today. Great prices.

Read negative reviews so wasn’t expecting too much but was pleasantly surprised. Actually nice inside for a typical weatherspoons. Table was cleared quickly when we sat down. Food was decent enough. Found the place clean and service was good. No complaints, value for money.

Yes it's a wetherspoons but it's in a good location and has great potential to be a really good pub.

I've been to this place a few times of late. It's got a nice vibe, the menu is reasonable, it sells alcohol and feels welcoming for families but it is pretty grubby inside. The seats are stained and worn, the tables are a bit sticky and the place seems to be piled high with dirty glasses and plates fairly often. Looks like they could use a few more staff. It's also pretty chilly inside and the trek to the loos left me almost hypothermic. Nonetheless I believe the place has huge potential but come on Mr Wetherspoon, show the place some lovin' ❤

I was again in the area and we went here. Dirty tables with dirty glasses and cups lying on them. We were there for a couple of hours and those dishes still hadnt been cleared. Felt like a creche as well. Children running up and down and in between the tables. This should be stopped. There are hot liquids and glass and children could be injured. What are the parents thinking. Of course no one dares to say anything, we all just put up with it. The place was understaffed, i recognised the manager from the last time i was there and he appeared rushed off his feet. Come on it was a Saturday, you should put more staff on,you must know people are going to visit.

My friend and I decided to have soup for lunch, mine came before my friends, I was having the potato and leek soup which looked very tasty unfortunately I had to return it as it was lukewarm, my friends arrived and hers was broccoli and Stilton it looked good also lukewarm, we both complained and our dishes were returned a few moments later hot and an apology from the waiter who couldn't apologise enough and said he was embarrassed by the situation, lunch enjoyed by both of us eventually

Typical Wetherspoons menu. 2 panini's with a drink each £10. Food well cooked and the staff were helpful . Nice place to go for lunch

I thought the place was ok six months ago.

Served by a nice man named Cameron and a pleasant young women named Sarah, really enjoyed my time. Both servers had a really pleasant demeaner and big smiles whilst remaining professional. Will most definitely come back again.
