We were staying at The Mole Resort and wanted a meal out for our family. This was a beautiful restaurant with very helpful staff who managed to book us in at the last minute. The atmosphere was lovely and it was nice to be met by very welcoming staff. We had a selection of food, both from the children’s menu and the main evening menu - all was fabulous. I had the home made banoffee tart and that was totally devine! I would 100% recommend this place and will return. Thank you!

Wow without a doubt the BEST pub we have ever visited, food was absolutely outstanding, staff welcoming and very friends , amazing country pub vibe cosy and quirky, the steak chips were amazing and we cannot wait to come back, staying at the mole resort was a 6 minute walk through the golf course. Highly recommend the jaffa cake gin!!!

My son and I are staying at the nearby Mole Resort and decided to dine at the Exeter Inn this evening. I called up and made a reservation and was told that they could accommodate us. What I didn’t expect was the rude welcome by what I assume was the manager. Barely acknowledged us when we arrived and then flatly denied that I had made a reservation and turned us away despite there being empty tables. I was left shocked and upset on how someone who works within the hospitality industry can behave in such a way. I suggest this individual goes back to the school of customer service and learns how to treat people.

Disappointed and over priced £17 for a bagged salad clearly from tesco .. burnt Camembert Greasy onion rings And the prawns had no flavour The waitress agreed £17 was very expensive and to be fair to her gave it to her for £14 instead which I still think was steep for a £1:50 bag of plain salad Sad really as last time we ate there it was lovely.

went there for some grub at 1-2 o’clock ish and had the korean popcorn chicken. Really tasty with the sauce and some fresh crispy chicken cooked to perfection.along side this some lettuce, chilis and spring onion to give it that Korean dressing style and some chips on the side. Seasoned with paprika and i added salt and pepper to give it a nice taste. My father had a chicken burger which he described he doesn’t usually have a burger but this one was nice with the addition to the sweet chilli sauce inside with the toasted bun. i had a coke and he had a devon red which was refreshing on this 20°c evening. We had to wait a bit due to other people in line for food but was an alright waiting time.Frankie was really friendly roaming the pub as normal really fluffy and a nice addition to the building as devon pub dog of the year. The interior of the building has a really nice style for a local pub which i found was really intriguing. Staff and waitress were really welcoming and friendly. Overall i really recommend the exeter inn if your in the local area or are staying in the mole resort pop down to the local pub and restaurant for a bit of grub 🙌🤘

Whilst staying at the nearby Mole Resort we found this pub last year. We were so impressed that we decided to have another visit. We made reservations for Dinner on Friday and Sunday Lunch. Both were excellent in both quality and quantity , delicious!. During the dinner I was taken ill and the care and attention I was given by the staff was second to none. I recovered quite quickly and the evening was a success. I can only thank them for their care and attention and fantastic food, Bravo! Are we going back again next time we are in the area, you bet! 10/10.

We loved this pub, the people there were just brilliant, very grateful for a quiet evening and a nice meal on a Weds night in March. 10/10 We came here for lunch and the dinner the next night as we liked it so much. Whilst staying at the mole resort. Excellent food , super friendly service and lovely atmosphere and eclectic decor … Dog friendly and kiddo friendly , and very nice vegetarian food (as well as meat !) Husband had cassoulet which they made for him as it was a lunch special that had sold out when we came for dinner on which was so accommodating and kind and apparently super yummy. Daughter rates ice cream 10/10 .. pure Devon ice cream highly recommended , we were staying at mole resort and it is a 15 min walk down the road .. whilst is definitely well worth it . This is such a wonderful pub. We came for a quick lunch with the dog, but we're so impressed we booked for dinner the next day. The staff are wonderful, so welcoming and friendly. For dinner I had the cassoulet which was actually a special they had run out of but still managed to do for me and it was delicious. Great vegetarian options as well and good wine. Plus our dog was really happy with the bar treats. Looking forward to the next time we come when I can sample their famous pie (proper pie not a stew with a pastry top)

This place is absolutely spectacular, stunning interior and the outside is beautiful at night with lights hung around the front of the pub and car park. There is a lovely seating area outside which looks ideal for summer time. The food was absolutely fantastic. We were a party of 5 and 2 of us had the “cock and bull” which was a small piece of steak and a chicken breast with onion rings and chips. The burgers my friends had were great and the presentation of the fajita was perfect. This was and still is a very special place and I’m glad to have celebrated my 18th here. The owners and staff were their usual charming selves We all ordered fillet steak each to be cooked differently with 3 types of sauces. When served it was beautifully presented and piping hot. The Pub itself looked stunning with its neatly thatched roof, sculptured fox and two pheasants catching our eyes. Our meal was as equally amazing as the staff welcome and hospitality, which was second to nothing. Having just arrived from Bovey Castle, our expectations were high, but sent sailing into the sunset because the steak! (which we both chose) was out of this world, arriving on a sizzling hot plate, was cooked to perfection. Acompanied by a rich lashing of Stilton cheese sauce and washed down with an amazing Rioja Reserva that was worthy of a Laithwaites recommendation, and a Portuguese Rosa for my good lady, which made her smile. The pub is a beautiful jewel in this lovely small village and is immaculately kept. The quality of the food is outstanding and of great value and I believe our Sunday Lunch was the best we have ever had out at any establishment ever - lovely roast meats served with a generous serving of 9+ vegetables with the very best roast potatoes and sumptuous gravy. Our visit to the Wednesday pizza night saw a miracle for me come true - in 30+ years with my Wife I have tried to get her to enjoy a pizza with me to no avail - this pub smashed it into the back of the net! She is now totally converted after enjoying a wonderful homemade pizza to her wishes - Chicken, Chorizo and sweet mixed peppers pizza it is for her from now on in! Without any doubt we will visit again in the very near future and we fully wish the staff enjoy their very well deserved small break that is coming up during October when the pub will be closed for a very short while.

It has already become a valued destination for visitors and locals alike. A varied and delicious menu through the week, although closed on Monday and Tuesday during the winter. A good choice of roasts on Sundays!Varied entertainment on some days, so it is worth keeping an eye on their website for events and opening hours. We LOVE it !!!

This pub has new owners and has been transformed into a really nice village pub. Both the interior and exterior have been redecorated the interior is very tasteful, combining the best of a traditional pub with a hint of the contemporary. The food and customer service are now excellent, much improved on how this pub was previously. Ignore any negative reviews about this pub from 2+ years ago, the new owners seem to be making a massive effort to create a really pleasant pub and its now definitely worth a visit!

No way does this pub deserve four, there was nothing about The Exeter Inn that was short of five out of five. What a find!!You couldn't find more of a "country pub" if you tried. In every detail. And the food!!! We arrived as a party of four without a booking and we were welcomed. I mean positively welcomed not just 'I suppose I can squeeze you in'. The owners (as we discovered, the NEWLY ARRIVED and very experienced owners) Steve and Hazel have already made the place their own. TA readers can IGNORE previous reviews and ratings) They and their staff are speedy, attentive and have a relaxed friendliness that you only get when everyone knows what they're meant to be doing. No hectic, rushed, stressy faces and voices here! And the FOOD!!!! :)Thank you for your hospitality Steve and Hazel. I can only WISH that you were closer to my home.

We first visited the Exeter Inn just before they were serving food back in September and based on the welcome and facilities we vowed to return. We did so in early December and this time brought some fellow motorhoming friends (stayed at Uplands, just down the road!).Food and service were excellent and did not disappoint at any level. My wife is gluten and dairy intolerent and getting something nice to eat is often a challenge. Hazel the owner and chef made her a one off Chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce in almond milk that was absolutely fantastic, according to my wife. In these days of pre-prepared food, with so many pubs and restaurants 'living out of the freezer' it is so refreshing to go somehwere that can acutally go off plan and cook something from scratch. The service throughout was excellent and then the 'brave' Chef came out of the kitchen to speak with all her diners - are rare and courageous thing to do. She (Hazel) genuinly wanted feedback for the people she had cooked for! Say no more.thank you Hazel and especially from my wife, Debbie, who was blown away to find this level of cooking and commitment to service, at such reasonable prices. We will return (actually, already booked into Uplands for New Year 2020 - one of the best CL's in the country, but will be back before then!). Thank you!

We descended on the Exeter in last evening in a state of desperation. 4 adults and a hungry toddler, no booking, the week before Christmas. We could have been grateful to them just for managing to reshuffle their bookings and find us a table, however never did we expect the level of service and quality of the food that we were presented with.

The new owners of the Exeter inn have done a great job in making the pub look homely and inviting. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a roast dinner and it was fantastic, I had the slow roasted local beef and it was delicious. The veg is flavoursome, not just boiled and bland. You are served bread and olives before the main meal and all the food is top quality. I do recommend the exeter inn, it’s well worth a visit.

Was delighted to hear that the Exeter inn had reopened. Certainly didn’t disappoint, we had a warm welcome and the pub has a cosy atmosphere. The menu has something for everyone, the griddled chicken was a delight, excellently cooked and served. We wish them all good luck in the future. We certainly will be back.

The Exeter Inn is a warm welcoming place. Lovely inglenook fire place quite the place to be on a chilly wet day.Friends and I enjoyed the most delicious Sunday lunch, the best ive tasted anywhere in along while. Before lunch we were given a complimentary nibbles of fresh sliced bread and olives/balsamic. The lunch portions were large fresh and all home cooked "None of your packet stuff here" . NO empty plates, always a great sign.

Steve and Hazel have worked very hard to give a traditional village pub a new lease of life. The Exeter Inn is now clean and sympatheticly referbished with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Several Real Ales on tap, a wide selection of Gins and a good wine selection which complements the new menu.

Stumbled across the cafe when we arrived in Ilfracombe and needed coffee. Quaint and characterful and clearly has it's regular customers. Coffee was good and hot but the homemade Eccles cake was amazing! The other treats looked good too. Coming across The Naked Cake cafe was the best thing about Ilfracombe which was otherwise, tatty and very down at heel.

Inexpensive for Ilfracombe. Freshly cooked food, and great service. Good portions too. Recommended.

Lovely modern roomy lodges in a beautiful location. Breakfast choice was great, cooked breakfast very good & piping hot👍 Pub food also excellent, quick service, good choices. Most staff helpful & friendly. One member of staff who greeted us on arrival wasn't welcoming. Only a couple of minor things- rusty toilet roll holder which spoilt the rest of the very new bathroom & the shelf above sink is in the way. Suggestion - small fridge, there is room. Mirror near plug sockets. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Four of us popped in today and we were glad we did ! Looking through the window showed it was full but a table of four had just got up so we sat in their seats :) We all had the Breakfast at £11 each. Couldn’t fault the meal at all, plenty on the plate and locally sourced. Really good selection of coffee, tea and fresh orange 🍊 juice. Highly recommended Get a seat and order at the counter. Very pleasant polite service as well. Seating outside. Well done 👏👏
