Great food and atmosphere. We were hosting guests for dinner before the concert. I had fantastic help and support in advance from Anita who was able to confirm the menus and accommodate a number of dietary requirements. On the day Anita was also our host and the food and service was exemplary and just as pre-ordered. It was timed perdectly so that we were able to finish eating and get to our seats in time for the support act. I would definitely recommend.

Had a brilliant evening at Letters Live on Wednesdays - highly recommended - and the evening started with a delicious meal and service by Anita at the Elgar restaurant. Anita couldn’t have been more attentive. We arrived late so had a small table. Before our main course arrived, a more spacious table on a better spot became available so we were quickly ushered across. Came back for interval drinks and pudding and received same level of care. Food was delicious, just wish we had had a little longer to enjoy it…

Lovely venue in the beautiful Albert Hall. Staff were great, but service was a bit slow and it did feel a little rushed to make sure we didn't miss the start of the show. They had also run out of Vegetarian options for main meal.......not good for a top restaurant

From arrival to departure the staff were kind, courteous and very helpful. The restaurant is a fabulous space with cleverly placed planters affording space and privacy. The food is something else! We gad the three course set menus which has superb choices and the food was exceptional. We chose to have dessert at the end of the near BUT could have taken it at the interval, nice touch! We will return again Thank you very much and I would heartily recommend it! I have eaten all over the world in some of the top restaurants Inc multi Michelin stared and this holds its own! Bx

We came here before seeing a show at the Royal Albert Hall. The food was lovely, and our server Olha was brilliant.

We dined here before a Rick Astley concert. I had prebooked and paid a deposit for the dinner. Service from Filippo, the manager, was great. He was not pushy and provided explanations about items on the set menu. I ended up choosing the three course set dinner including dessert and coffee that I chose to have during the interval, returning to table 33. My heirloom carrot starter was very tasty though I thought the carrots could have been cooked a little more. It was a colourful and well presented dish. I chose the pork belly main course that was hearty and came with broccolini and celeriac puree. The piece of pork was a generous portion, too much for me and came with a spicy sour sauce that wasn't to my taste. The baked bananas dessert was the disappointing course. The bananas weren't that ripe so they tasted a little starchy, not sweet. Overall, it was a good experience and a timesaver before a concert with a full house.

Amazing restaurant with 10/10 service! Our waitress and host Olha was super friendly to my sister and I, and we were super happy with the service we recieved especially on her birthday. The food was super delicious and elegant, it came to us quickly and the atmosphere is fancy too. We came to the Elgar just before our show so it totally added to our royal Albert hall experience! Will 100% recommend to a friend but beware, it is pricey as you can see from the set meal prices but there’s also drinks prices and service charge.

Faultless. Seated promptly and our server for the evening, Alan, was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the menu, both for the food and the drink and came up with a great pairing suggestion for the curry I had. The starter (honeyed carrots) and the mains (vegetable Thai yellow curry) were both superb. Desserts and coffee were waiting for us during the interval and the banana/caramel dessert was delicious. Price included service charge and fit three courses plus a drink each, seemed very reasonable indeed. Looking forward to our next visit!

The perfect location for a meal before a show…the staff run things very tight so you can be sure of you’ll be fed, and seated before curtain up. Everyone is really friendly, the food is good, and somehow it doesn’t feel rushed at all. Impressive and delicious.

Had a quick early dinner with my brother before seeing Diana Ross yesterday evening. Time was short but service was speedy and our fish and chips were very good, tasty and hot: the fish portion was sizeable and I had to get my brother to finish mine for me! We were very well looked after by Hamza and chose the option of having our dessert (delicious sticky toffee pudding) in the interval, which was a little bit rushed as we had to get to/from ground to third floor by lift. On our return to the restaurant, Hamza had kindly moved us to a table where we could avoid the crush of people accessing the bar, as I am a wheelchair user. Staff showed good disability awareness and spoke to me and not just to my brother, which is refreshing. Access generally was good and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would be happy to go again if visiting the RAH.

Incredible experience! I was warmly welcomed and the managers Anita chose a perfect table for a solo dinner. I opted for a delicious salmon ceviche with a very well made Cosmopolitan cocktail and a chicken panko with a glass of malbec. All very good! Raquel and Anite were really attentive and friendly and my dinner couldn't have gone better! Thank you very much to the Elgar team!

I attended with my significant other at the Elgar Restaurant on Friday in advance of attending at a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The food on Friday was lovely, portions a little small. We were 4 persons. Food was set menu with choices, to begin we had 1 Cosmopolitan (why Not) 1 Estrella 0.0 alc 1 Old Speckled Hen and 1 bottle of Albarino. The food chosen was 1 Angus Burger; 1 Gazpacho, Cod Veloute and a Creme Brulee; 1 Steak Tartare and 1 Angus burger and 1 Salmon Ceviche, and Creme Brulee. All washed down by two Expressos one Americano and one more Cosmopolitan (What the hell!) total was £293.35 including service charge of £33.15 added to the bill as an option. Enjoyable evening Friday 8th September. Server was Tinotenda and she was friendly and engaging throughout the meal. Saturday evening 9th September was Last Night of the Proms. At the Exhibition Bar there was a sushi bar. Service was slow, Edamame was a menu item no qualification just edamame...in every Japanese restaurant in the world yopu should get the ingredients listed....edamame was listed as just that. and the standard dish is served boiled and with salt only. The dish that arrived was soaked in soya sauce and with chilli on top. The relevant guest asked for a fresh edamame with nothing else. After 30-40 minutes and twice asking the server for the food, there was no edamame. There was a kind of an apology and we were asked did we want the manager. Manager arrived made an apology during the apology the forsaken edamame arrived but still soaked in soya..gust could not eat this. Everyone else had eaten and the guest still had no food and the time of the Prom Concert was approaching fast. Others had eaten and were anxious to be in their seats. All in all Saturday food was a disaster. Need to do better Royal Albert Hall!

We had a delicious meal prior to the Simon Rattle Paradise and the Peri prom. The food was cooked with love, beautifully presented and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very chilled. I have only ever been to the Elgar rooms for a pre-concert meal. For this it is very good. Staff are efficient and helpful. They only have one sitting all evening unless there is jazz or a piano recital late in the evening. This means you can leave coats and come back for desert and wine at the interval. Worth checking the location before selecting seats, it can be a long way to the stalls. I'll certainly go back for a pre-concert meal when I have the opportunity.

We arrived late but was greeted warmly. My wife and I had the same blistered carrot starter which was sensational. My wife's steak to be honest was cooked very well but had a few to many tough bits for an expensive cut of meat, my pork belly was amazing along with both our deserts. The standard of service was first class, special mention to Tatiana who was delightful and attentive, give that girl a pay rise. Would highly recommend all round, best dining experience in ages.

First Night of the Proms 2023. Arrived punctually for our 5.30pm table (giving us 90 mins for a 2 course meal). Didn't take order until 6pm. 1st drinks (water) arrived at 6.10pm. Wine at 6.15pm. Starters at 6.25pm. Now we're getting anxious that our main won't arrive before concert starts - start laughing about situation with table next to us with same problem. Steaks arrive at 6.46pm (giving us just 5 mins to eat it - allowing for finding our seats, going to the loo, buying programme). So we send it back. Would you like to come back nine the (20 min) interval and have it then? So we did - to find cold steaks waiting for us. That's when I lost it. To give her her due the manager came to apologise. We could see over a dozen other people going through the same experience. If a concert venue restaurant can't deliver a meal in the time frames available it might as well close down. Never again. For our next two Proms we will bring our own sandwiches.

I am kind to give it a 1 star. First the signage to the restaurant is greatly lacking and we had some difficulty finding it. Then the room, it is poorly decorated, basically looks like a attic space converted to a restaurant. Cheap carpet, furniture and very uninviting. Then the menu, nothing exciting until you taste it, as it is down right awful. We figure Britain ought to have great fish and chips so we ordered that and it came with slightly soggy chips and greasy batter . But the surprise is the fish has smelly skin still on it. I took one bite and left the rest as maybe that is how they serve battered fish in England? Spoke with some Londeners and they all say there is never skin on fish and chips so how did this happened? My steak was order as blackened medium and it came not blackened and medium rare. What is very upsetting is that their site boast about how amazing this restaurant is blah blah blah and at the end i just want to get out of this rooftop attic and go see the concert.

We booked a meal at the restaurant before a musical concert and it was a lovely experience. We were served by ALAN and he gave us helpful hints about each meal and drinks so we ended up ordering tasty meals. Alan explained the process of holding tables & allowed us to rush off for the concert, to return for dessert. The table was held for us during the concert and we had the opportunity to go back to our table for desserts at the Intermission. Dessert was already laid out for us as we walked in so not time was wasted at all. Excellent service. Recommend!

I booked the Elgar Room thinking it'd be a simple and stress free way to eat before seeing a show, but unfortunately it was anything but. None of the waiting staff seemingly wanted to take ownership of our table so it felt like we were in no-mans land watching everyone else get served around us. It took for a waiter to spill red wine on my coat as he was walking past about 15 minutes after we had been seated before anyone interacted with us. It was downhill from there, with more long waits and food and drink being delivered incorrectly before we had to rush to our seats for the show. Easily the worst dining experience we've had and it'd be 1 star if not for the fact that the food was actually very pleasant.

We had a really enjoyable experience at the Elgar with one of the best 3 courses we've ever had.Not only the food but the service was first class.We were made to feel welcome without being looked down on.Thats important to me as London can be a bit overwhelming.Special mention to our waiter Amine who looked after us.Will be returning again the next time we are at the Albert Hall.

I have long since been a fan of the Royal Albert Hall, and have dined and enjoyed the wonderful hall. I was extremely disappointed by our visit this Sunday. I booked lunch for five, (one of us a child). We had two starters, each had a main and had four desserts. Only water to drink. Service was appalling. They had no clue what was going on. We have to ask continually to be served and then we had to rush the dessert as they didn't bother to take our order in time. They are massively understaffed. I appreciate that this is an issue across the board, but when the meal came to over £250, I would expect the hall to be paying their staff a proper wage so that we can enjoy our food. The food was OK, but the quality was lacking. The burgers were not freshly made and looked like they came out of a pre-made packet. Overall I was extremely disappointed
