The Easy Fish Co in Stockport

Enjoyed a mixture of dishes from the lunch menu consisting of small and large plates, and the specials of the day, brown crab rarebit and skate wing. Everything we ordered were skillfully cooked and delicious. The courgette fritters we didn't expect it to be with chilli flakes, but it was tasty if you like a hint of heat. Recommend the mussels and blanchbait too!

Been here a few times now. Incredibly tasty, fresh food. Last time we had one of the platters and it was to die for. Lovely serving staff too. Best seafood I've ever had in any restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

Everything here is as good as it gets. People are ace as well. Makes me want to leave London and live here!

We have been coming here since it opened, behind the fish counter. I highly recommend the food though I was disappointed when the fish platter starter became a fish and vegetables platter and we we’re paying a high price for veg in tempura with an absence of prawns and squid. My better half recommends the Sea Bass. I would always opt for the Haddock and Chips. I do suggest they consider a blackboard option of their fish (in the fridge) and serve with vegetables and spuds - It would be a great way of clearing the decks of fish unsold in the shop.

Me and my wife shared this platter and also some garlic bread. The mussels that came with the platter this time were not as good as they usually are. However the platter is excellent.

We had a lovely meal here this weekend. The service and timing were excellent. The food was on the whole excellent also. Only one suggestion: I had the prawn and squid platter at £26 as a bit of a treat. It wasn't clear from the menu that this was all deep fried however. I was hoping for some fresh prawns and squid (maybe grilled?) but was left feeling over-faced with the grease of the deep fry. that said, the prawns and the squid were both fresh tasting and the accompaniments were superb. everything else served was flawless and utterly delicious (....the moroccan monkfish, seared sesame tuna and salmon tartare - all highly recommended!). Thanks for a good night.

We had an amazing meal at Easy Fish for my mum's birthday. We particularly enjoyed the smoked haddock and prawns as starters. Ellie was such a lovely waitress and organised for a cake to be brought out for my mum! Such a lovely touch and looking forward to returning soon :)

Great food, good service. The ambience isn't the best, but it really doesn't matter if you're there for the fish - which, surely, is the point.

Went for my birthday lunch. Blanchbait, haddock goujons and a prawn cocktail to share. Then a sharing platter of squid and tempura king prawns , with salt and pepper cauliflower and dips and slaw. Delicious. My only criticism the cauli was to salty. We then had sticky toffee pud and the cherry trifle. Faultless. Great service, lovely understated surroundings. Great destination. We will definitely be back soon for more. What an asset to Heaton Moor absolute gem.

Simply the best fish restaurant there is in Manchester. It is so good. Food, presentation and service all first class. If you enjoy a tasty fish supper then you'll LOVE this place!!! I can't stop thinking about it.

Fantastic food and exceptional service. Virtually in the realms of fine dining, here. Who would have thought this would be possible at the back of a fish mongers. It seems to work, though. I'd have like them to be two separate entities personally, with a little nicer ambience to go with the price tag of the dining experience. Nevertheless, a good evening was had by all, and we'll probably be back at some point in the future..

Great service, lovely fresh fish beautifully cooked. I had a gnocchi and trout dish... simply delicious. The skin was crispy crispy, the gnocchi were fluffy and the sauce perfect. Then I had a chocolate torte style dessert with praline shards. Fantastic! Four stars only because table settings and layout doesn't support the gormet style food and not particularly 'romantic' but looking forwards to my next visit.

This little gem of a place is on Heaton Moor Rd Stockport. It is on a good parade of shops and trendy cafes. It is a fresh fish shop and at the back is the restaurant. Tasteful decor good seating areas. Mainly adults when I went varied fish menu. Staff pleasant. Excellent food

Stumbled upon this restaurant situated behind a fishmongers. Relaxed friendly staff. I had monk fish with jasmine rice and curry sauce and my partner had sea bass with pesto gnocchi, both dishes were delicious. Fish cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. Shared fish platter ordered at another table looked superb we will definitely return.

Friendly service, the food was in general okay but not amazing, and £14.50 for 3 tiny queen scallops…come on guys. The exception was the monkfish - whilst the satay sauce was someone lacking in refinement the fish itself was outstanding.

Really good service. Refreshing to be told up front that they were down on staff and food might be a bit slow. It wasn't and it was excellent 👌

Atmosphere: The restaurant (located after the fish mongers) can be described as casual, cosy, and comfortable. There is booth seating, elevated bar booth seating are deep royal blue and quite comfortable. Contrasting the deep blue are the golden yellow beech wood tables and chairs, gives the impression of driftwood against the blue sea. The bar is very compact and well designed, utilising wooden creates as shelving holding a limited variety of spirits and wines. The back wall features the service window, through which the head chef can be seen and heard busying away putting final touches on the dishes prior to being expedited. The last feature you'll notice would be the quiet volume of the background music, upon careful examination appears to be a hodgepodge of different years of pop music. This obviously turns into a murmur during a conversation with your dinner companion(s). Food & Drink: The menu is compact with a focus on fresh seafood at very reasonable prices. We had monk fish roe canapé nibbles, followed by crab cakes, then for mains we couldn't resist their fish and chips, and the sea trout. The monk fish roe was very fresh and a unique experience, it's not as salty as other caviar but still tastes of the sea without that fishy taste. The crab cakes were a cacophony of textures from the crunchy bread crumb coating, the smooth filling accented with flakes of sweet fresh crab, the crisp pots shoots, the silky sauce that perfectly balances the flavours. The fish and chips are irresistible, the generous size of the haddock fillet, each of the hand cut chips are wonderful golden brown crispy parcels boxing in fluffy potatoe. The sea trout was cooked to perfection, succulent and butter with a delightfully crispy skin. Sadly we never had the opportunity to get into the wine list or cocktails (driving and all that) but we'll definitely be back for that soon. Service: The FoH team are friendly and always up for a bit of a chat if it's not too busy. Over the past few years of coming here, we have seen a bit of a staff turnover but it's existed in hospitality. The BoH team headed by a talented chef (the band of whom escapes me right now) is definitely dedicated and passionate to his craft, evident with each plate that leaves the service window. Price: The whole lunch cost approximately £65.00 which I think is reasonable considering the freshness of the ingredients, the skill and care behind each of the dishes and the quality of the service. Having said that, there is an additional lunch menu where you can choose from a number of smaller dishes for a set price as well as the specials of the day. Final thoughts: We go to a number of places across Manchester, we've seen new concepts take over older establishments but if anything were to happen to this place, Manchester would definitely be losing one of its best understated gems. So if you've yet to come, I recommend making a reservation for either lunch or dinner. If you're driving there is street parking as well as a tiny 20 vehicle car park over the way.

The lunch menu and the main menu are very good as there’s a variety to choose from. The shell sharer platter was spot on with all of the different seafood having flavour. Everything tasted fresh and cooked well. Customer service was very good Very good idea and something you don’t see often is having the fresh seafood literally to hand!! Can’t wait to go again

Perfect meal at our local superstar restaurant. It was difficult to choose but everything we had was amazing. Perfectly cooked, the balance of flavours was just right.

Purchased the fish pie to take away today and can honestly say it’s the best I’ve ever tasted , absolutely delicious… would recommend to everyone, great value too

This restaurant, located at the back of a fine fishmonger, deserves to be on your "bucket list"! Perfect ambience, food drink, presentation and, above all, service. There is nothing not to like.

We come here very week and they are amazing. I have not been a lover of eating fish but each week these guys make recommendations to allow me to experiment and its going great so far. Not had chance to eat at the restaurant yet (although I am more than coming round to the idea)!

Fantastic meal, wonderful service. If I lived in the area I would be back soon! Probably the best fish & chips I've ever had in a landlocked city. The dessert of pistachio & raspberry blondie was a perfect portion size and something a little bit different and was beautifully presented.

Food very fresh and customer service very good

Hinestly can't recommend this place enough phone to book a table for 4 for my girlfriends birthday arrived friendly warm welcome seated straight away and drinks orders taken promptly 5-10 minutes later asked if we was ready to order not rushed but also not left to feel abandoned drinks where always kept full very attentive and polite staff food was out of this world well worth the money and massive portions on one of the previous reviews it says the restaurant smells of fish this isn't the case it smells of the sea which is how fresh fish smells to top it off at the end of the meal they brought my girlfriends who's birthday it was a plate with a bakewell cake ice cream and happy birthday wrote in chocolate this wasn't pre arranged and was completely off there own backs which really made the evening highly highly recommend thankyou for a lovely evening

Outrageously good food. We had the seafood sharing platter with moules marinières, an order of scallops and corgette fritters and peas with samphire as sides.The moules marinières was the star of the show, better than I have had anywhere in France or in any other country for that matter. The sauce managed to preserve a background of white wine while garlic & leeks remained clear and distinct with a tasty butteryness that made it all work.This is definitely the standard by which I shall judge all future fish restaurants and I will be very surprised if any come up to the mark.We will be back!

An absolutely amazing place for fish dishes. We had a massive sharer plate and a bottle of white and it was all fantastic, I can only recommend it.

Not been for what seems like an age and finally went on Saturday afternoon The food is simply devine and cooked to absolute perfection The service is very good with a good choice of drinks and to top it all all off you have a great shop out front to try and cook some of the wonderful seafood for yourself Cannot recommend this place highly enough

Visited last night for a birthday meal and was totally blown away by the food. We ordered so much because everything sounded so great. Started off with mussels and crab arancini which were to die for, then each finished off with the special bream with chimichurri. Excellent service and fantastic food. Would return.

It's always a good start when you want to order every single item on the menu. Twice. Delicious dishes that delighted with every mouthful. Our party had the cod and sea bass and both were cooked to perfection. Save room for pud!

I’d read about this place just before Covid arrived and finally managed to book a table for lunch yesterday. It was well worth the wait. I’ve never eaten better fish or seafood anywhere in the world, including a few Michelin-starred places. It was all so fresh, cooked to perfection and served with nice simple accompaniments by lovely staff. The shop and deli looked interesting as well. We will be back.

I must have gone on a bad day cos the food was terrible. Its connected to the fish mongers... So if you don't like that smell don't dine in. The service was good. Considering it specialises in fish, they definitely don't know how to cook it. The basic fish n chips were awful. The fish was dry and overcooked and the chips were soggy and greasy. We also had the cod. Very nicely presented but the skin was not Crispy and it was very salty! Overall... Its over rated and over priced.

Have just had an amazing meal for a mid week treat. Felt very safe re: COVID. Nice and spacious and the front door was open for air circulation. Spaced out tables. I had the salmon tartare followed by a gorgeous sea bass dish with aloo saag and a an additional katsu sauce. Very nice indeed.

Tried for the first time last weekend and have to say, great food and friendly staff... We were also told that because the lobsters were smaller the prices were less, which was great to hear so ordered a full one. Just wanted more... :)

Excellent fishmongers. Selection is always good and the staff really friendly and helpful. The restaurant is possibly my favourite in heaton Moor. Dishes often change and quality of the cooking is always great. Comfortable and fairly casual atmosphere, although potentially not the most cosy or romantic.

I have eaten at the restaurant a couple of times & also bought fish in the shop, but this was a different experience altogether. I ordered a fish platter as a takeaway for my son’s celebratory 50th birthday dinner at home. I couldn’t be with him & his wife because of lockdown. It was described as a greedy main course for two or a starter for four. There were only two of them but I was assured that half the platter would keep well in the refrigerator for the next day. However no such thing happened, with the addition of fresh crusty bread the whole thing was irresistible, so the planned main course was returned to the fridge & the platter consumed in one go. Seemingly it was wonderful. I have ordered another for some friends who have a birthday this week too. When I’m able to go out & about I shall order one for us too!
