The Durham OX in Rushcliffe

What can I say, the best roast lunch I possibly ever have had in a long time! We a party of four, we had lamb, beef, pork and one veggie meal All meals came out hot and full our meats fell off the bone! The veggie meal was full of flavour and the gravy was thick and shiny. Everyone was full but we had a small space for pudding! The staff were attentive and friendly even had a little banter with us. We all had something different for pudding with the sticky toffee pudding being everyone’s favourite because we had to try abit of everyone’s dessert!

Lovely Sunday dinner and dessert. Best one I have had in the area. Plenty of gravy, meat was beautifully cooked and plenty of vegetables. Could not fault it.

A welcoming pub with real ale - good selection - and delicious home-made food served in generous portions. The chips were amazing - not your usual frozen, dry horrors but real chips! The blood orange sorbet was out of this world and the huge portion of sticky toffee pudding my son had was unbelievable! Highly recommended.

Lovely pub. Warm and friendly. Lots of chatter and no loud music. The food was delicious. Due to a health condition I asked for a child portion and they were more than happy to accommodate. Great menu, lovely choices, brilliant service. We thoroughly recommend the Durahm Ox in Orston.

Met my brother and his partner here for Sunday lunch. Lucky to get a table given the positive reviews. Food was beautiful especially the lamb shank and chicken. Lovely little room at the back which the staff kindly let us use. Staff went above and beyond!

We had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We phoned at short notice to get a table, not expecting to with how popular it is. They shuffled a few things round and managed to fit us in. The food is delicious, the staff are very warm and welcoming and the pub itself is very pretty. A perfect Sunday lunch experience.

Chose the halloumi ciabatta with salad. It was exceptional. Best bread I have tasted in ages, plenty of halloumi. Would recommend.

Both of us had a Roast pork Sunday lunch and rate it the best we have eaten this year. Great service from the staff and the bill came to less than £40 including drinks. Happy to leave a £5 tip thoroughly deserved. No wonder all the tables were full. We will be back soon!

I have just visited the pub on Sunday with my partner and her sons for a brilliant Sunday lunch at the Durham Ox pub. we were looked after by a very attentive chap and his customer service interaction was absolutely brilliant and with an element of humour which is great for the customer. The food, services, value for money was excellent. Would i go back an absolute yes.

Parked up in the car park with the motor home and had booked for dinner. We popped in early with our dog for pre-dinner drinks and ended up staying and eating earlier. The landlord and lady and all the staff were really accommodating, friendly and attentive . It was so refreshing to have such excellent customer service! We sampled the real ale, a very nice red wine, venison pie and fish and chips, followed up with a yummy cheesecake! All the food was excellent and Ruby the dog really liked her gravy bones. Excellent value for money too! A very peaceful nights sleep once the food belly had eased! Hope to return if we are in the area again. Many thanks

Called ad hoc mid Sunday morning for a table for five, they were really busy but super accommodating and managed to get us into the lounge for Sunday dinner which was spot on. Super helpful and friendly staff as always and food was plentiful and hot

This was our first visit to The Durham Ox, but it certainly won't be our last. We had an excellent Sunday lunch, where everything was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were just perfect. The beer was kept well and the wine was really good. All in all, a most enjoyable Sunday lunch.

I booked our table for 10 family members and we weren't disappointed. 2 of our family were late and there was no rush or harassment to hurry our meal. The lamb shank was to die for, it just melted in the mouth and the beef I'm told was delicious. The owners are really friendly and we will definitely be going back again.

Lovely lunch - walked in on spec and had a warm welcome, chose a table in the beautiful beer garden. Lunch was fantastic - I had homemade steak and ale pie with chips and gravy - absolutely fanstastic! Husband had gammon and chips and was so impressed with the quality of the food. Sticky toffee pudding to share and the lovely landlady added an extra scoop of ice cream to make sure we had a scoop each. Great value for money, lovely atmosphere and a very well run pub. A brilliant place to meet for a causal lunch. Food is really good. Have visited on a Saturday and Sunday and the menu choice is great and the quality is excellent.
