Had a nice lunch here. They serve an all day breakfast until 4pm and there was enough choice for our kids who had a light lunch. Sat outside as it was just about warm enough and we had a dog. There's an old bus outside which the kids enjoyed playing in. Just over the road from the beach car park so nice place to stop off before or after a dog walk.

Great service, friendly smiley staff. Now the not quite so good, £6.50 is top end for a bacon and egg sandwich, and sandwiches are made not with a cheap bread roll, cob, stottie etc but with slices from a loaf, secondly the bright yellow muck spread over the cob had melted and pooled in the bacon use butter or don't bother. The bacon tasted ok but one rasher was well done and the other was flacid and unpleasant. Not good enough. The cake looked lovely and my coffee was superb. Won't be back.

The Drift Cafe was recommended by a friend. Great little find. Fantastic menu with something for everyone. I had the full English with great quality produce and my friend had a lobely omelette that was so big she couldn't finish it. Loads of parking with an assortment of paths through the dunes to the beach. The staff were all lovely and helpful (especially the black guy eith his smile - sorry we didn't get your name). Coffee was perfect and nice to see San Pelligrino on offer. Key lime pie *and all the cakes) looked amazing bit we were too full. Clean and fresh with local artwork and trinkets to buy. Indoor loos ok but new loos in the marquis. We'll be back. Soon. Every meal that passed us looked amazing. Give it a go.

Stopped off for lunch. Had rung in the morning to enquire about disabled phone, the staff member who answered was really helpful and confirmed they could accommodate a wheelchair. We got around with no problems. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday afternoon, always a good sign in my book. We had the vegetable broth, which was just the ticket on a cold. windy day. It was delicious. We've been back a couple of times since and the food was great on each occasion. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive for such a busy little cafe. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This is a DOG based resturant, catering for families and their furry members. Food looked lovely, great selection and generally a busy place. Signs state no dogs on laps or chairs. We arrived with our six month old puppy, who understandably was excited to see people and puppies. He's well behaved but does like to talk. We were asked by a member of staff to try and keep our puppy quiet, as they had recieved a number of complaints. Being responsible dog owners he is currently in puppy classes, where we are encouraging him to be the social happy dog we have at home. However without places like this cafe it does make it challenging. My suggestion is, if you do not like dogs, or can't cope with excitable puppies/dogs look elsewhere.

Have passed this place many times and decided to call in at lunchtime on a cold , dull January day. It was quite busy and it is clean and bright inside. After finding a table we ordered and payed at the counter and after approximately 10 minutes the waitress brought our order to the table. They have a good menu which is posted on a large blackboard and the prices are quite reasonable. We both enjoyed our meals. I had a bread roll with haggis, bacon, black pudding and topped with a perfectly cooked fried egg. The staff were very pleasant. There were a few dogs in but they all seemed to be fairly well behaved. However, a couple did come in when we were eating our meal and were considering sitting at the table next to us with their 3 dogs but fortunately decided to go and sit outside. Overall, a good cafe with reasonably priced good food.

The Drift has expanded significantly since our last visit, early in 2023 more than doubling it's outside facilities. Despite it being 2pm the inside café was , and so along with 4 or 5 other couples we sat outside on the wooden benches. We've had a lot of rain, and sadly the benches need revarnishing as they're very porous. It was like sitting on wet blotting paper. We could have gone in the recently acquired double decker, but it is very basic, so we opted to stay outside. Lots of dogs and owners both inside and outside this is a truly 'dog friendly' café. However, our coffees and warm cheese scones were brought out within 5 minutes, and despite warnings that anything from the kitchen had a 30 minute wait time our grandson's pulled pork toasted wrap was only 5 minutes behind the coffees. Quality as always (We've been visiting for more than 10 years now) excellent, good honest, tasty offerings, at a reasonable price. Despite wet seats we left well satisfied with our warming drinks and very satisfactory snack.

We've been occasional visitors to the Drift for more than a decade. It's still offering a warm welcome, great tastey unpretentious food and hot drinks at very reasonable prices. Despite it being after 2pm the café was chocker, so we opted to use one of the outside bench and table locations. Damp seats, which are now porous wood, and were therefore like sitting on wet blotting paper (hence the 4* rather than full 5* review). Despite a warning that cooked menu items were a 30 minute waiting time, our hot and perfect coffees, and warmed cheese scones arrived within minutes and our grandson's (very tastey) pulled pork wrap was only 5 minutes behind. Lots of well behaved dogs in evidence as always. A perfect location and well judged culinary and beverage offerings. Nothing too fancy but defo always hits the spot.

Popped in for a takeaway coffee and a piece of cake - despite being very busy, the queue was dealt with in a very friendly and efficient manner. Nicest slice of cake I’ve had in ages (v.tasty) and coffee decent too. I paid a visit to the Drift Cafe today with a friend after hearing very good reports from various people I was not disappointed we had a bowl of homemade vegetable soup served with a lovely soft roll with butter plus a lovely big cup of coffee certainly warmed us up on a cold and windy day on the north east coast. The Drift was full and this happens nearly every day as a lot of people walk there dogs and pop in for a bite to eat and a cuppa they know a good thing when they see it. The Drift staff are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They do allow dog's in, which I'm not a fan of, but must admit the ones that were in yesterday were very well behaved & under the table. This is a gem. Only been a few times and each time it's been fab. Located at Cresswell it's an ideal place for families, walkers, cyclist, runners and dog walkers. Dogs are very welcome, not that I have one. The menu is on the wall next to the counter, where a display of home made cakes are there to tempt you. Prices are fair, especially for the portion sizes and the quality of food you are served. Staff are friendly and helpful. The business has established hugely over the years and expanded. This time there was a wait of 45 mins for food, it was extremely busy, both inside and out side. This shows just how popular this establishment has remained even with the fairly long time for food.

We used to go to this cafe a lot. Standards have dropped. I ordered bbq pork wrap. I used to order this everytime and was huge pulled pork portion, it came and it was sliced pork?! In some disgusting cheap bbq sauce which was red . 1 tiny slice of pork in each wrap. I went to complain as this is disgusting for £8. And girl said it was weighed to 80g each portion, clearly this 1 slice was not 80g I’m not sure who your kidding. Changed it for the tuna cheese potato which was well worth the money. Not sure who your trying to kid calling this a bbq pork wrap. Very misleading yuck. My dad got the bacon roll too; 2 slices of bacon sliced up! Not worth it either.

This is a great but somewhat wierd cafe on the beachfront at Cresswell, (they have an old double decker bus parked at the back🤔!!!) There is plenty of parking outside and a footpath onto the beach so you can have a beach walk before going into the cafe for some hot homely food (if your walking your dog they will be welcome aswell).. I have been a few times now with the famlly and it always seems to be extremely busy, even so the staff work tirelessly to get the food out quickly and keep the place clean. There is a conventional sit down area inside which has the service counter for most of the food, an outdoor patio area with a wood burner pizza building and a sitting area in a marquee. Give it a try, it makes a nice afternoon out. Update: I revisited this week and was very disappointed. Prices have gone up dramatically (about 30% e.g. baked potato £9, panini £8) and service was so slowwwwwwwww.
