This is my second time at Coworth Park for afternoon tea. I booked the festive tea so we could experience the carol singers. Sadly the entire experience was quite bland and disappointing. This is the second restaurant this Christmas where we have had to wait for our table beyond our reservation time. The layout of the drawing room is all wrong and they haven't made the best use of the space. My partner was basically looking at a closed door for the two hours. If he wanted a view of the tree or pianist he had to turn around and have his back to me. It would have made more sense for the huge tree to have been placed where we were sat and our table to be where the tree was. The room itself is very bland with minimal artwork and a poor layout of furniture. Another reason I chose coworth was for the fireplaces. Neither were on during our tea and we're blocked by seats so could not be seen. This adds to the cosiness but sadly were not in use. The carol singers would pass from room to room which was not really ideal and appeared very messy. The pianist was playing but with many many breaks so it seemed like he was only there for a short period of the tea. The food itself was ok, I've been to Dorchester and the sandwiches are much better. The fillings were bland and not tasty at all. We had booked a champagne tea. We were half way through our food and I realised that we had not been offered the champagne so I had to ask for it. As for the tea, most places leave the teapot on the table so you can refill your cup but the waitress put it on another table. We had to wait ages to get her attention and by the time she refilled my cup it was almost cold. It was a very disappointing experience and my partner and I both agreed that we will not return. We have many choices in this area and I chose coworth due to the good experience we had last year. Sadly it has changed this year and I will choose another venue for my next afternoon tea. The standard has slipped considerably and I think it was a waste of money. I also think that the afternoon tea trays are not practical, the waitress put ours in the middle of the table and I could not see my partner so had to move it.

Received an afternoon tea gift voucher from my wife for my 50th birthday and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the House itself is simply stunning. We had a walk around the grounds after our lunch and enjoyed the wonderfully maintained gardens and sculptures. I’m guessing it’s not cheap so not something we could do often (though we would like to!), but as a special gift for a loved one I would highly recommend it.

One of our favourite places for afternoon tea. We visited to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and received a lovely complimentary raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. The service was exceptional from our arrival when we received Champagne from the maitre de that had been pre booked as a surprise from our daughter. Beautiful table in the conservatory. The tea itself was a delightful Coronation tea with delicious sandwiches, scones and wonderful cakes. Our waitress, Anjelik was extremely attentive, friendly and excellent at her job, nothing was too much trouble for her. Look forward to visiting again

A consistently exceptional afternoon tea experience. The elegant drawing room, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and wonderful service from attentive and informative staff members in addition to the delicious food and drink, makes this an experience to remember. We have been a few times now and every time it has been remarkable. The sandwich flavours and freshness surpass any afternoon tea I’ve had before and a plentiful supply, should you wish for more you just have to ask. The cakes and patisserie selection are incredible, special mention to a chestnut tart that was without doubt the nicest patisserie I have ever eaten. The scones are fresh, warm and moreish, lucky that these too are replenished at your request. Would highly recommend and return.

When my daughter booked as we don’t drink alcohol, they offered to do the tea for the price without champagne. However they charged us full price. They argued that this could not have been agreed. Which implied we were lying!! Also we had a toddler 18 month of age, and were asked to ‘keep it down’. Although he is good and doesn’t make noise apart from having a little musical toy which he used twice for a couple of minutes. In did not disturb anyone as it was quiet and we were in the corner in addition there was music playing in the background. Don’t feel this was a child friendly place. Therefore we were left feeling rather let down, not a good feeling when you have wanted to have a special memory with your family!

Chic, luxurious venue. Sweeping driveway through huge, stunning grounds dotted with figurative sculptures. Buggies and footmen. Attentive, lovely restaurant staff. Everything you would expect from a 5* hotel in terms of interior decor, space, cleanliness, infrastructure, staffing. Glorious panoramic views from the terrace of The Drawing Room. Space heaters (and blankets available). Live piano music in The Drawing Room itself. Five choices of small plate, large plate and puddings on the menu. Our choices of Halibut, Burger, Fish and chips were all delicious. The lemon cheesecake was sublime. This was a lovely memorable evening, and we were really well looked after. We booked into The Barn restaurant as a special treat for for my mother's birthday. The booking was made months in advance, and subsequently due to a massive corporate booking we were contacted and asked if we would mind being relocated to The Drawing Room. At all times the reschedulling was handled extreemly professionally. Each and every member of staff I spoke to from the Dorchester Group was thoughtful, accomodating and polite. I felt well looked after. There was a reminder telephone call a few days before the meal. It was only then when I looked more closely at the pictures on the website I saw there are low tables in The Drawing Room, and was worried about how comfortable that would be for my mum, who is in a wheelchair. I was reassured my mother's mobility issues would be fully catered for re: access and comfort /ergonomics. The maître d', Seb, ensured continuity of care, and extended his shift by three hours to oversee our visit. We were offered and accepted a complimentary bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne for the inconvenience caused by the relocation.

Coworth Park is a wonderful amenity for the Ascot area and every visit is a guaranteed delight. Although I live locally, my family have on a few occasions moved in for the weekend as we are so fortunate to have this incredible, destination property with fabulous grounds and a lovely spa on our doorstep. Overall good service. When arrived for afternoon cream tea, advise to head to the restaurant. The person meet us, asking us wonder around whilst they found our table, so not great. Initially the service was slow, as there was only two staff members that appeared to be working and we did expect our teas to be automatically refilled, without calling over the staff all the time. Later there was more people working, hence the service levels improved. Overalls I was happy with the experience, plus delighted to see the staff using hand sanitizer (however couldn't see the percentage alcohol contents)..

We did run 10 minutes late and a quick call was made.We were offered to sit out on the Terrace and it was delightful. I was surprised how many people were there at just before 3pm. My boyfriend surprised and treated me with my first ever afternoon tea experience here at coworth park. We were welcomed and seated to our table which was lovely. However I felt completely overlooked and slightly uncomfortable as our waitress was not attentive and to be honest completely ignored us throughout our tea. Once seated we waited 10 minutes before my boyfriend actually asked for our menu. However there were two other afternoon teas happening and they were constantly being served whilst we just sat there in the middle wondering why we were being ignored. We were served our afternoon and champagne. However my boyfriend was so embarrassed that we were not served our tea we ordered I had to step in and ask where our tea was. Once I asked my our tea the waitress said oh yeah, and then topped up the two other people’s tea and didn’t rush to grab our tea. By the time we finished the food and cakes our tea arrived which seemed pointless as it was after.Considering there were only 3 lots of people having afternoon tea and I am baffled as to why we were completely over looked, is this because we are a young couple and by the far the you youngest that afternoon. As you are a high end establish I am really disappointed in my first afternoon tea and my standards were a lot higher. Having said that the two young ladies who served us drinks on the terrace lived up to the service I had imagined.

We wanted to take friends to an afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. We were looking for somewhere with a really good tea and ideally a little wow factor too. Ideally, all close to our friends. After a big disappointment at an old favourite a few miles away we thought we would try Coworth Park. The venue looks impressive and service throughout was super attentive and efficient. The Drawing Room is elegant and feels spacious. There is a tea menu offering a wide choice. At first we were concerned that the teas were put on a table out of reach and we would be reliant on the staff for top ups. Sandwiches were tasty and were were offered more of our favourites. The scones with and without fruit and a choice of jams all hit the spot. The cakes were delicious too. Service manged to keep us topped up with tea and sandwiches without being intrusive. The whole afternoon combined a delightful tea with a masterclass in how to get hospitality right. For what you get it is remarkable value. The management from Great Fosters might try it sometime.

Whilst Coworth Park is a luxurious place to while away a couple of hours our most recent visit was a little hit and miss. On a blazing hot bank holiday Monday I was disappointed that whilst sitting in the drawing room there appeared to be no air conditioning on. certainly my hair was soaking wet by the time we had finished, such was the heat and the humidity. Closing the doors to the terrace and having effective air conditioning would be expected in a 5 star establishment and it did mar the experience. The tea selection is good- although not as extensive as other places I have had tea- but my Coworth Park afternoon blend was delicious. The tea was kept on a separate table and was not refreshed and we were not offered alternative blends to compliment the tea. That is disappointing,The plate of sandwiches were refreshed once- which is to be expected as there were only 4 small finger sandwiches allocated per person. The fillings were good but didn't particularly wow me- egg mayonnaise? really? The Connaught had a sublime egg mayonnaise with truffle for their afternoon tea that was truly memorable. I don't agree with scones being brought out wrapped in a napkin at the same time as everything else comes out- they should be brought our fresh and warm when you as the diner are ready. Wrapping them produces a slightly steamed effect and didn't in any way enhance the flavour or experience although they were beautifully light. The pastries were generally very tasty indeed- a chocolate and peanut mousse concoction was like an amped up snickers bar and truly tasty! 4 pastries each and they were small so my other half asked if we could have another two of the choux pastries only to be told that no the kitchen only made just enough so no we couldn't have any more! I was quite staggered to be honest. This isn't in any way a budget tea- the service and delicacies should be free flowing during their "set" two hour table turnaround and it felt miserly and penny pinching to refuse us a small choux pastry each. As a result, and being a regular visitor of Coworth Park for picnics, horse riding and lunches, I do not think I would return for the Afternoon tea. I am quite surprised they won an award for it, or maybe they are sitting on their laurels as a result of having won the award... not entirely sure. However other than the peanut and chocolate creation nothing "wowed my palette" as Cherish Finden on Bake off the Professionals would say and I left feel very hot and underwhelmed. A real shame.

Refined, patrician and Brit to the bootstraps. Its worth the one hour drive from London to this splendid Georgian manor . WOW what a beautiful hotel the staff were excellent from the gentlemen on the door, the front desk and as for the staff serving the afternoon teas they were so knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable straight away. The tea was lovely with a great selection, and we were able to try as many as we liked. We had a glass of champagne which was a special offer for the months of January and February. The sandwiches came in a lovely array of different breads and the roast beef just melted in your mouth and we did have extra. Not so keen on the quince jam not very flavoursome so we stuck with the strawberry jam. The cakes were divine(all of them ) if you start off with the lighter ones and work your way up to the heavier ones, well I say heavier they weren't they were as light as anything I particularly liked the blood orange one and the black forest gateaux. Seven of us celebrated 2 birthdays here last Sunday (10th Dec). It was a wonderful afternoon tea with fabulous service from start to finish. The Christmas decorations are stunning and in every room a beautiful tree adorned with decorations. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious. Absolutely loved the Christmas Carol Singers, a wonderful touch when they sang "Happy Birthday" as well. Beautiful surroundings with very attentive staff. Have had the pleasure of afternoon tea here before but First time attending the Christmas tea but hopefully not the last ! Would highly recommend

As a surprise to my mum, we brought her here for the festive afternoon tea and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Celine and Brough looked after us so so well and were so attentive. The tea selection was once again incredible including a range of Christmas flavoured teas. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty and replenishable. The scones were brought out to us warm after we asked for them to be brought later and were small and perfect. The cakes were something else and so beautifully done. The macaron was to die for!!!!! Everything was done with such a touch and we came away feeling thoroughly spoilt, christmassy and value for money. Brough and Celine went above and beyond and really want to thank them for looking after us so well. I definitely will be coming back!!!!

The Xmas afternoon tea is really special. Beautifully decorated Christmas trees adorn the venue, with carol singers & beautiful piano accompaniment, how can you not feel festive? The scones & cakes were so pretty, and delicious. This was a real treat, especially for my parents, who deserved a special day out & thoroughly enjoyed it. I want to extend a personal thank you to Gaetan, the Manager, who dealt with a private family matter with the utmost professionalism, and could have not have been more accommodating. Thank you so much, your kindness was greatly appreciated. Coworth Park is always exceptional, yet managed to exceed expectation again. Thank you for a really beautiful & festive experience. We look forward to our next visit! Merry Christmas.

The drive through the grounds covered in beautiful autumn flowering flowers set the scene for arriving at the lovely Coworth Park. After a very short walk from the car Park to the main entrance, we were met by a posse of staff who lead us into the stunning drawing room. From this point on, the staff where wonderful, looking after us at every stage of the experience that is afternoon tea. The Sunday we went was very busy with all the tables full and several large celebrations around us, but the waitress on our table made sure that we had everything we needed throughout the hour we were there. With an alternative vegetarian (possibly vegan) collection of sandwiches and cakes for my partner, we both worked our way through the scrummy nosh. Sandwiches where tasty, though the aged cheddar a little too strong for my liking. Followed by 4 delicious cakes, savoured one mouthful at a time and finished off with 2 lovely scones with cream, jam and plum compote. The tea was hot and the cups kept topped up throughout. It is quite expensive but the setting on this sunny October day made it worth it for this special treat.

Beautiful location, the drawing room is small and intimate with nice views of the garden. The service is excellent, knowledgeable and lively description of the sandwiches and sweets, staff always present and professional. Why only 3 stars you might ask? Mainly due to the disappointing “scones”. After all that is the centre piece of the afternoon tea. Or should be. At Coworth these are as far from a scone as you can imagine, something between a brioche (small one) and bread. Also the selection of tea is not that great, just two black teas and a couple of herbal tea. I did not had the chance to have tea the the Dorchester in London but I have been to a few other afternoon tea places in London and in comparison The Drwaing room is not more than 3 stars. Maybe in isolation it can get 4 but not when compared to what else is available on the London market. To end on a positive note, the hotel has facility for EV charging.

Set in the Berkshire countryside, near Ascot, Coworth Park offers multiple facilities within amazing grounds. Afternoon tea is served in the main house and the setting & ambience are lovely. The service and attention to detail mirrors that of the Dorchester. They offer a Champagne afternoon tea along with different types of tea and other hot beverages. The three tier tea stand offers a range of 4 sandwiches, plain & fruit scones with strawberry jam and apricot compote (plus clotted cream of course) and 4 types of patisserie. You can order extra items at any time should you wish. The staff were very attentive, but not obtrusive, and along with the views and interior setting it offers a great experience for a treat. We were there for a friends Mums 70th birthday and they presented her with a mini birthday cake. A very thoughtful touch that made my friends Mums afternoon. I'd definitely recommend a visit to Coworth Park. We all commented that the ambience at Christmas, with the open fires, must be amazing.

Driving up to the hotel with a wild flower meadow on one side, beautiful scenery all around, I spotted people playing croquet, a horse grazing - it is just idyllic. Parking was not a problem. We were greeted and, as we were early for our afternoon tea, we enjoyed cocktails in the bar - non alcoholic raspberry creation was delicious. The setting for the afternoon tea was relaxed and very comfortable. The management and staff were very efficient, gracious and knowledgeable about the product. We enjoyed the afternoon tea very much - we were not rushed - the tea was replenished - the pastries were very detailed in the decoration (too pretty to eat but .....) and so delicious. I would thoroughly recommend this for afternoon tea, the other facilities looked awesome too.

My wife was give a gift of afternoon tea for two here for her birthday and we both found this an excellent way to spend a relaxing afternoon. The hotel is approached through lovey grounds with the driveway passing through a huge wild flower meadow which was in glorious full bloom on the sunny afternoon of our visit. The afternoon tea is taken was a large, comfortable and relaxing drawing room with the muted green of the walls giving the place a calm and cool ambience on a hot day. The staff were attentive and helpful at all times and made you feel relaxed and "at home". The afternoon tea itself was excellent with a selection of tasty finger sandwiches (more were provided if you wanted them), delightful scones with cream and jam and a lovely selection of cakes to finish. There was a good choice of teas to go with the food - both traditional and fruit / herbal teas available to pick from - and the pots of tea seemed to be bottomless through the afternoon. We have taken tea at quite a number of different locations over the past few years and this certainly rates up there with the best. Highly recommended and I am certain we will be back.

Just beyond the Drawing Room is the Terrace, where my wife and I sat on a gloriously sunny Monday lunchtime. Great location with lovely views over the gardens and outstretched landscape. After studying the 'All day dining menu, we were both drawn to two of the fish options - dressed crab and native lobster. When our waitress returned to take our order, we were informed that both were unavailable. Very disappointing! I subsequently went for the BBQ chicken on salad. Pleasant enough, but uninspired and lacking flavour. My wife chose salmon with sprouting broccoli with hollandaise, which again was - pleasant enough. For dessert, I had apple tart with almonds and calvados ice cream - sounds good, but this was quite poor. A dry frangipani tart, topped with an independent slab of spiced apple jelly which was too rubbery and seemed to have a life of its own. Overall, the food served was pleasant enough, but lack lustre.

We recently went for afternoon tea and it exceeded my expectations. The price was reasonable and the venue beautiful. The staff were very good with our 16 month old son who can be a bit of a nightmare sitting still!! The service was the right speed, teas were nice with good variety. However the best thing was the scones which were soft with lashings of clotted cream and strawberry jam. My only disappointment was the sandwiches could have been a little better especially the beef as it was missing flavour. Great value for money.

I treated my best friend to an afternoon tea at the drawing room yesterday 8th may. I have been to the Dorchester Parl Lane for high tea on many occasions but we chose Coworth Park Hotel due to the gorgeous grounds for this occasion. I had exceptional service upon making the booking as we had a specific dietary requirements. However last week I got in touch to attempt to change my reservation date but I received no response from the booking team. Non the less I kept my original reservation We arrive early to view the grounds. The staff then let us know that there were no specific dietary requirement on the booking. I told him I had the emails confirming this which I could show. He then said they would prepare it for me regardless. The high tea was very very average, nothing I would expect from your brand, the sandwiches were very dry and had visible pieces of crust on it. Of all things, the kitchen staff decide to leave put the cucumber sandwhiches on our tray!! I requested them as they are an integral part of any afternoon tea and our waitor then brought it. I found the kitchen staff to be very slow in producing pots of tea. On a plus the waiting staff were very very good and I would like to write a testimonial for the young man who served us. Over all I felt that the actual products were below expectation from a place as grand as this and very disappointing for the Dorchester brand.

Could do better would be my honest comment. On arrival there was that awkward moment when you stand there not knowing where to go and no one says anything - I hate that. The room was gorgeous and the view beautiful, presentation overall great but we had to chase our cups of tea which took ages to come. The sandwiches were sadly dry around the edges with very little filling and our specially ordered "non allergy" sandwiches still had the allergen in. The cakes looked beautiful and the scones gorgeous but for the cost I feel it the sandwiches and service could and should have been better.
