The Dragon Restaurant in Conwy

As a B&B this is a great location. Right on the edge of Betws so very easy to walk in. Car parking right outside - not sure if there are quite enough spaces for every room but it wasn't a problem when we were here. The other reviews are mixed - I can see why. There's no reason not to come here though. The lady who runs it (front of house at least) is very nice and friendly. The room is clean and kept very warm - a good thing when you're out all day getting wet. The breakfast is good - can be a little slow (ok - I couldn't cook breakfast for a dozen people that quickly either) - but in my view breakfast on a stay away is a time to linger and chill anyway. Overall the room was comfortable, if a little cramped (especially the bathroom). For a weekend out on the hills it's great - but I wouldn't call it a luxury stay. I don't think the restaurant was opening when we went - otherwise we would have gone there in the evening. There's no doubt that it could do with a bit of maintenance, and the restaurant/reception area could do with tidying. I'd also like to see the Covid-era signs for mask-wearing removed. Move on! Nice enough - yes I'd stay here again - and I think they have the pricing right so its good value.

This b&b is very reasonably priced compared to many other places in the area. There is free parking available directly outside and we were always able to get a space. The reception area is a bit run down and untidy. The room we had was small but clean, despite the stained, badly fitted carpet. The flat screen television had a very good picture and included the basic channels. Lots of info in the room.There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was nice as well as a noisy hairdryer….the type where you have to keep your finger on it to keep it going and this one needed a lot of pressure so I wish I’d brought my own hairdryer! Shower was hot but hose was leaky. Bedding had a whiff of bleach about it. The rooms facing the road get all the traffic noise if the windows are open. Additionally the curtains are not blackout so the room stays very light as the street lighting shines in at night. Blackout curtains would make a huge difference. Breakfast is good and nicely laid out. You make your choice the day before and then it is cooked to order. Keys are on a large wooden key ring and in our case the front door key would not work for ages and ringing the doorbell brings no response in the evening. On departure the policy seems to be to leave your keys with room number written on the key ring on the reception desk( no key box) despite the nearby front door being wide open. If you have a problem do not expect a helpful response and any hint of concern, our experience is that it won’t happen. We would not stay here again but if you want a basic bed for the night and a good breakfast with amenities close by and a reasonable price this is the place. If you want a bit more comfort and a more upmarket environment then definitely go elsewhere and pay more.

Stayed at this B & B for two nights. Staff work hard and keep the place spotless, but the rooms are very tired, shabby and urgently in need of re-decoration. Our TV remote not there, and although they tried to sort the following day, the problem was already known about, so feel that it should have been already replaced. Never got a new remote so never used the TV. Windows from rooms in annexe open onto narrow walkway used by other residents, so privacy a bit of an issue. Everything just felt a little bit "sad". Restaurant has not been operating for some years, so the Hotel description needs changing to prevent misleading. We had originally anticipated having meal there on our first night, so had to re-plan, but there are good alternatives in the town within easy walking distance.

Booked 2 single rooms here, mainly due to price & I’ve stayed in Betws for Snowdon before & enjoyed it. My room was dated & had a strange little slope to the floor but it was very clean and had a nice little bathroom with a shower. We both had a nice view of the river opposite. My single bed was very comfortable & the room was cleaned each day The woman who checked us in was really nice, showed us to our rooms and told us about breakfast & other things. The restaurant was closed when we visited, but locals said it was good. The b & b is situated really well for what we wanted. 20 min walk to swallow falls, 5 min walk to centre of Betws y coed, plenty of options for food, drink & bits to do and a 30 minute drive to our chosen Snowdon route. Breakfast has to be ordered the night before by filling out a sheet & handing in to reception. When we went down in the morning I was surprised at the big selection of continental. They bring you tea or coffee & then you can choose from lots of cereal, fruit, juices, breakfast bars and brown or white toast. I had an omelette both days & my friend had the full fry up. Both were great. Had no problems at all during our stay, if you’re looking for somewhere cheap to get a good sleep this would be a good choice

Stayed here for 2 nights, lovely hist, easy check in. 2 double and a single room. They were all clean and had adequate facilities. Beds were very comfy, lovely shower and fridge. The breakfast was great, full English and great selection of bread and cereals. Fruit was also available. Had a lovely stay.

I stayed here for a two night stay in April, I was in room 3, had a lovely view of the river, the bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, this hotel is desperate in need of an update, although there was plenty of lights in the room most didn't work, the shower was inadequate with the smallest shower head I've ever seen, the glass shelf in the shower looked like it was about to fall off, the cooked breakfast was not to my taste as produce not great quality but the omelette was lovely, if you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you, but for basic comfort I can recommend.

Although the host was pleasant and polite the room was disgusting.Dust,a broken mug,a plug socket that was taped to the wall as it was hanging off and wires were visible,poo on the pillow and a used razor hanging in the shower with body hair🤮stains all over the floor and previous guests hair in clumps,also the Furniture was broken.It was ok for a base but not for a decent nights sleep as the street lamps outside lit the room up(blackout curtains were needed) the breakfast wasn’t the greatest but was edible.Carpet on the stairs was loose and both myself and my partner fell down them. Couldn’t complain as the owner wasn’t around much and was on her own so did our best with what we had. Spend your money elsewhere,£170 for a two night stay is overpriced for what you get.Spend a bit more and go down the road into the village.

Great views from our room, slept with the windows open to hear the sound of the river. Was glorious. Lovely, comfortable bed and a great bathroom with a powerful shower. Location is great and owners so friendly and welcoming.

stayed here for 2 nights B&B- covid was being lifted, rooms where dirty, no bar service in the evening, breakfast was okay but could be better. had a room that had a sink in the middle of the dresser. has been shut for 18mths so not sure why they couldnt have cleaned the place while it was empty. would not go back again. other than breakfast, no food available in the restaurant it was closed.

We ate here whilst staying in Betws-y-Coed and had a great meal. The service, food quality and portion size were all really good, it was one of the best Chinese meals we have had in a long time. Although it is on the A5, it is quite easy to miss - it's on the north side of Betws-y-Coed on the edge of the village.

we thoroughly enjoyed the banquet meal we had. Plenty of food and it was really nice and hot, and very tasty. Reasonably priced too.. great value for money.. Polite and efficient staff .. A must place to eat

Had a lovely meal here. The food came out piping hot and tasted great. Good selection to choose from especially as a vegetarian. The waiting staff were friendly and helpful. The dishes were brought out well timed.

Really liked here it, food was great and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Good choice of food & friendly staff. Portions are large, if you have a small appetite consider only getting one side for 2 people. When we checked Google & it said this restaurant was closed, thankfully we walked passed & popped in to see if it was open & thankfully managed to book a table.

Stayed at the B&B with my 10 year old son for 2 nights over the August bank holiday weekend in a twin room (number 9) which is in the annex building next to the restaurant. The rooms are fairly small and basic and a bit dated, but were clean, warm and fairly comfortable and the shower was good. It's right next to the A5 road that comes out of Betws-y-Coed so was a bit noisy so you might want to take some earplugs! The breakfast was good and plentiful and the staff were all very friendly. It's only a 5 minute walk into the main village with the bars and restaurants so we didn't eat at The Dragon in the evening. Would recommend.

Hubby & I had the most amazing meal here. The prawn toast was amazing, he had the duckling roll which he loved to. Great food. Friendly staff

There were plus points and some things that could be improved here. The signage outside needs a wash to help it look more inviting. The interior is an interesting mix of Chinese and old village pub. Some elements looked a little tired. The staff were pleasant and the tables were nicely set with full linen, which is always a nice touch. The menu was varied and the veggie section was extensive which was great. They were also very helpful on nut allergies and posed no issues. The food was nice and the portions large,although the clear winner was the crispy beef which was £17. Worth a visit if you like Chinese food.

Consistently high standard of Chinese cooking. Ma Po Tofu and any black bean sauce dish are excellent. Good beer, Welsh Gold, in 500ml bottles, almost like draught beer. Efficient staff. Need to book.

Best Chinese we’ve had in a long time. Really fresh. We had the prawn & broccoli, beef with cashews and crispy duck. Excellent.

As I was a guest at the Inn, I ended up eating here twice. It was good, though the staff seemed a bit overworked. Allow some time and you will enjoy a nice meal.

The Dragon restaurant catered for my school group of 28 people fantastically well recently. They produced plentiful and excellent food that was enjoyed by all of the group, and the welcome from att he staff was really good. I hope we can do this again as you certainly did us proud.

I've visited The Dragon Restaurant many times and have always found the food and service to be excellent and it would hold it's own in the China towns of London and Liverpool. The Restaurant was formerly an old coaching Inn in historic Betws y Coed. The restaurant has an extensive menu that caters for most tastes. In addition to Chinese cuisine, The Dragon also offers a range of local craft beers.

Visited with my family for a meal. The service was below par with no smiles and made to feel like an inconvenience. Food was poor and very expensive. Such a shame.

Twice visited for food, twice disappointed. Much over priced and completely underwhelmed. We won’t visit a third time unless they up their game, far better restaurants locally.

Very disappointed with the food we had a mixed starter for two at £14 which was burnt and consisted of most of it completely burnt How a chef can send out that sort of food I will never understand The mains was the wrong order of type of noodle which was completely dry and tasted of burnt garlic.Completely waste of my money . And the source on the sweet-and-sour was not very nice.

where to start , room with a mountain view... not. please see picture for view , but that is only minor the cleanliness of the place was shocking the shower trap had not been cleaned out for years full of hairs and water would not drain away see picture , dust everywhere again see picture, the more worrying was the manager shown us to the room on entering the door was hard to open obviously a carpet had been laid but no one had taken anything off the bottom of the door to allow for this, now I am a pretty strong guy and it was 2 hands to open and close the door very dangerous had it been an elderly couple and there was a fire in the middle of night they may have not been able to open it, again see picture. on arrival a form was given to us for breakfast choice next morning, just driven 200 miles wasn't really thinking about breakfast the next morning so I choose egg and bacon sandwich the wife choose an omelette, on the second morning this was going to be served again we were not told a choice would have to made every day, asked if we could a full English each, I did get one, my wife was asked if she would have the omelette as the chef had already made it, sorry guys an omelette is about 90p to make but they pretty much insisted she had to have it. the standard of food was not great, sausages and bread was the cheapest of cheap and when my wife's omelette did come out it had black grease under it when she tried to fold it , we ate in the restaurant the first night and the food was quite greasy and is probably the most expensive Chinese meal I have ever brought £47 for 1 rice and 2 main and 4 chinese beers, in the window is there hygiene rating 2 out 5 should give it away really , so overall if you want an uncomfortable stay and are not too fussed on hygiene and standard of food then stay here , it needs money spending on it to bring it up to standard, the fact that we only stayed 2 nights out of 3 that's about as much as we could tolerate .

the meal was very expensive and not tasty, perhaps we have been spoilt with our local.we were staying in the b&b and thought it a good move to eat there as well ... We went up to the village for fish and chips the next night.

OK so I stayed here as part of a group of friends. We stayed in a twin room. Here's the pros: free parking, near local shops and short drive to snowdon, bedside tables and dressing table is cute, tea making facilities, really clean & warm, late check in.Here's the cons: stayed in a room on the ground floor and the floorboards above are so loud they wake me up, feel like someone is going to fall through the ceiling, decor is weird (curtains and cushion are a floral pattern, duvet cover is stripy cupboard door is red, units are cottage esque & head board is weird orange fabric. All the patterns arent relaxing, needs to be more of the same. Bit confused what decor theme this B&B is going for.This B&B is on quite a busy road so if you don't mind a bit of road noise you'll be OK. If you can't stand it, then find another. Personally, road noise doesn't bother me.

Blink and you will miss this wonderful place, not that well advertised which is a pity as it is one of the best Chinese restaurants we have stumbled upon. I would highly recommend eating at The Dragon, excellent service, excellent food, excellent staff, excellent prices. We were fully stuffed thanks to the generous portion sizes.

Stopped by the dragon restaurant the other night after a long hike. I had a springily good time. The staff were really friendly and the vegetable curry I had was a decent size, and really tasty. I’d visit again!

stayed at this B&B; for 2 nights on a biking trip, TV wasn't working neither was hairdryer, no WiFi signal in my room. rooms dated noisy as is on a main road. Seemed like only one guy was doing all the work, cooking and the room cleaning, vacancies for staff were advertised but no one seemed to want to work there so the guy was doing too much, so some things were not being attended to.

Our second visit, and it’s just as we remember. Good food, decent size portions, quiet and great service. Pleasant service which is not intrusive when having a romantic meal out. Very clean throughout!

By far the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten.

We went for an evening meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiters were both very friendly and accommodating. We opted for a banquet meal so that we had plenty of variety and all courses were delicious. We were absolutely stuffed afterwards! There are plenty of food options with various banquets or a wide variety of starters, mains and sides. There were plenty of drink options from the bar too.

Popped in on the off chance of a Chinese meal while passing through and although they were fully booked, they accomodated for us, and I am so glad they did.....beautiful food and plenty of it!

Easy parking right outside the front door led us into a very pleasant lounge and dining area where we were met and greeted by a lovely man who showed us straight to our booked table, organised drinks immediately and helped us with the menu. The food was excellent, service superb and the whole experience delightful. Would certainly return

Have often been to Dragon Restaurant, would highly recommend this Chinese cuisine, each time we go we try a different meal, just can’t fault them. Quality & price you couldn’t ask for better. We travel 30 miles just to eat there!

We were staying in the B&B; next to the restaurant (nice, clean and ok value too) on a particularly wet visit to Betws y Coed, bridges were being shut due to flooding and as such we decided to try the restaurant. Some of the previous reviews had made us somewhat nervous. However it was a busy evening and the food was very good. We all had steak dishes for our mains and shared an aromatic duck and it was all piping hot and very tasty. Service was friendly and just attentive enough.

Went here for my sisters 18th birthday. Originally I was sceptical due to recent reviews, however the food was delicious and portions generous. There’s a warm and cosy atmosphere.

Booked a table for 4 people waited in bar area for 10 min before we spotted anyone. Guy taking orders off the only table with people sat at guy just looked at us then walked away. He then came to bar I asked could we add two more people to table he said I will check went missing for another 10 min then came back to bar said NO..!! really off hand. Then went into kitchen missing again so we left and had a lovely meal in the stables centre of village.

Stayed for a weekend, food was excellent, reasonably priced. Came back to Dragon restaurant the second evening. Friendly service. Kids 12&15 enjoyed thoroughly.

Service very slow. Food was just average although ambience was nice. For the value, had much better Chinese food in Wales.

The B&B; is very nice. Excellent location, very convenient as a base when you are visiting Snowdonia, as it is in the centre. We are a family of 4 and were finding it difficult to get a room which accommodates all of us. Lee & her husband run this place and she was kind enough to offer her family room, with extra bed. The room was a decent size (nothing fancy), the bathroom was modern and clean. They also serve a decent breakfast. Lee and her staff are very accommodating and nice people.

Fully enjoyed a meal here, food was delicious and service was polite and friendly. Highly recommend.

Quite a lot of different dishes to what we usually order. Portions are very big so don't order too much! Thought it was quite expensive. Would rather have smaller portions at a lower price so not so much waste. Comfortable décor and just on the edge of town. Parking outside.

Having popped into the dragon at luchtime to ask about takeaway that night we were advised to be there by 6pm to order. Well we did and it was well worth the wait and the drink we had while waiting. The food was very tasty indeed. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

Managed to fit us in even without a booking which was lovely, the food was fantastic however the rice portion is an absolute joke. We ordered two portions of rice and they out it in one bowl and it's the smallest portion I've ever seen. Waiter was abrupt and seemed fairly grumpy, although the waitress was lovely.

Was very helpful. Found us a table when we wandered in without a reservation. Very polite, could not do enough for us to make us feel welcome. Meals were excellent. Kung Po Chicken was just the right amount of spicy. We each all 3 of us ordered a different meal and all were enjoyable. Top notch.

We came here after a day climbing Tryfan, expecting to get a meal to match this! We saw on the website that they did set meals as well as a few of the usual takeaway favourites and decided to give it a go. We arrived and decided to order the “Dragon Fire Banquet” which consisted of the beef fire starter, a mixed platter, duck pancakes and then mains (Cantonese beef, Prawns with soy sauce and garlic, egg fried rice and Chinese veg). All in all we were incredibly disappointed with the food! The beef starter had no flavour.... let alone any beef! The picture on the website shows an amazing dish in a noodle basket with loads of beef. My meal consisted of no more than 3 pinky finger nail sized piece of beef in a bland sauce with overcooked veg. My boyfriends meal had slightly more beef, however was no more impressive. By this point we should have received the prawn crackers that come with every meal... except we had to remind the waitress that these had not arrived. The platter was passable, with the prawn toast actually being prawns on a skewer and we weren’t able to tell what meat was actually in the wantons! The duck pancakes were ok, except there were not enough pancakes for the amount of duck and the duck was incredibly dry. Our mains were awful. The beef that was meant to be a fillet was so thin that it was tough and overcooked, the prawns were split right down the middle without any of the head etc being removed. The veg was just broccoli covered in a congealed, overly sweet juice and the egg fried rice had some how come out burned! For £26 a head for the meal, it was a major disappointment and the worst Chinese I’ve ever had.

Went here in a large group of 15. This was my first Chinese meal since becoming vegetarian so I was apprehensive to say the least! But I was so pleasantly surprised. The vegetarian sharing platter was delicious especially the satay mushrooms. The fried beansprouts were also delicious. I would definitely return here anytime.

My wife and I booked table on the web, for 7pm on 19th July, and found the presentation of the restaurant very inviting, The menu was extensive and adequate wine list. we ordered wan tun soup, dim sum special combo for appetiser, and for main, malay chicken and noodles and scallops with ginger plus egg fried rice. The quality of all the food was excellent, we eat in Chinese restaurant quite regularly and I can assure this is one of the best without a shadow of a doubt. You need to be a little patient because all food is cooked to order, so if you want fast food, this is not the place for you. The prices were reasonable for such good quality, and we found the service was attentive. Would definitely visit again when in area.

My wife and I picked this B & B from Booking.com and chose to stay 3 nights here. It would be a base for our first visit to North Wales. Our accomodation was a 3 bedded room on the ground floor. The only windows and door face on to the main road the A5, and so there can be some traffic noise for most of the 24 hours. The staff Mr & Mrs Yu were friendly and the Breakfasts were very good. However, the only evening meals served here are Chinese dishes, so if you are into Chinese food this place is for you.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! Booked a room, arrived to find they had no booking even after I showed them the confirmation email. Didn’t apologise, no offer of help even though it was their mistake. Then to make sure they were being perfectly rude, stopped speaking in English and spoke in Chinese to each other until I interrupted. Ended up just walking out.

The food was very tasty and well presented which was quite a surprise. I eat Chinese often and I thoroughly recommend this place if you are visiting as was the hospitality a warm welcoming. Service was also attentive.

3 hrs wait for food not even hungry by the time it came very disappointing. Came in a party of 16. All the others finished and left befor the time 3 of us had our main.

Delightful restaurant with atmosphere along with an excellent menu. I have eaten many Chinese meals in several countries including the far east but I have never had a delicious meal. The service and the easy of booking a meal were also good. Highly recommended and only sorry I don't live in this area to experience more meals.

The Dragon was one of the few places open during the few days we were in Betws-y-coed. But it was great. Food was freshly cooked, delicious and the service attentive but not too much.

Betws Coed, Chinese food= The Dragon, a massive choice of dishes, fixed starter selection was a bit the same, mains were really good and good attentive service.

Really nice food conjured from good ingredients. We had a banquet so got a feel for a range of food. Crispy duck was overcooked but the rest of the meal was lovely. Service was good and good value for money.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Arrived during early afternoon and the rooms were ready. Clean and comfortable. Quite basic but ok for a base. The bathroom was new and clean but it was tiny, you literally couldn't move in it.

we came here for a meal on our wedding anniversary and had a lovely meal, very tasty food, faster service than last time too, but the food is so good its more than worth the wait

This is the only Chinese restaurant in Betws-Y-Coed. The Chinese food is quite nice. Their menu is very extensive, with all sorts of dishes and set dinners for 2, 3, 4 people. They also have a takeaway menu with rice dishes and noodles dishes which is useful for people who do not want to eat in.

Friendly waiting staff and as always dishes were slightly different to our local but the meal was fine. We ordered 4 different dishes and shared them between us.

Lovely people, nice room with great view, good place if your visiting Snowdonia, Chinese restaurant on site and although we didn't eat there at night it was always busy. Lady in charge had a beautiful smile and was very helpful. Good breakfast too.

I booked this hotel for our anniversary and couldn't have asked for better. we arrived late due a long journey and we were welcomed into a lovely warming freidny room. Lots of attention to detail very clean and had a real homey feel. very spacious room with a great view. breakfast was delicious, served piping hot and lots of choice of hot and cold items. will definitely be coming back

We booked here very last minute yesterday (19th August 2017) as we struggled to find somewhere yo cater for 8 adults and a 2 year old. All I can say is that the food and service was truly fantastic. The staff were very polite, the order was supplied perfectly and the food was lovely and hot and full of flavour. My husband and I had eaten here previously back in 2010 but hadn't thought much of it then hence why we hadn't been back until now. We definitely weren't disappointed this time. All our group commented how good the meal was and said it's the best chinese they'd eaten in a long time.

We visited during our recent trip to Snowdonia and were very impressed by the quality of the meal we ordered and also by the size of the meals!Between us we had a selection of dishes and every single one of them was beautifully prepared and tasted great!If / when we go back to Snowdonia we will definitely be returning

We stayed close by and went in their on a Friday night. The food off the menu was of a high standard and the service by the young Chinese man was really good. Chicken and sweet pen soup was good as was our mains including very Fluffy rice. Banana split was a blast from the 1980's but was ok. We went back the following night and had a decent meal but ordered a fixed menu, not as good but still good food.

The greeting when we arrived was non existent. We were left to sit in the lounge, no offer of drinks or menus.Eventually got some drinks, menus appeared about 45 minutes later. My starter wasn't brilliant, passable. Main meal(beef in black bean sauce) was so salty I could barely eat it. Never again

Great view from our bedroom above the reception,5 minute walk to the train station and pub,friendly staff,nice food in the restaurant,limited off road parking but free parking on the road . The room was quite basic but for the price worth every penny. If I had to find a fault it would be that breakfast starts quite late if you are going out walking

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, the room we had in the main hotel had a musky smell, decor was terrible, bathroom was awful toilet was tucked in next to the shower, the area was carpeted and black around the shower area, the washbasin was in the front of the bedroom next to the window so if you used the toilet you had to use the handle of the bathroom unwashed before going to the washbasin to wash your hands. How many people had done that before you.Used the restaurant on the first night totally chaotic, got our order wrong and had to wait ages, the only thing going for it is it's location, great views.

We were here for the Snowdonia challenge, staying 4 nights the room's are basic but very clean and tidy, excellent shower and towels, as we were walking each day we had arranged for a packed lunch first day it was ok but better the 2 day, on the third day it didn't turn up until we got back. We had dinner on the Thursday night and it was excellent. We had breakfast on the Monday morning which was good and lots of fresh fruit

Being very local (living 300 metres away)We decided to try it for the first time since living in Betws Y Coed.We walked in standing there for 5 minutes until someone came to see us, to then be only told "nothing at the moment" very rudely. No apology or time for the next available table.Shame as we run a holiday home and work in the area. We will not be recommending.

We went to this restaurant for an evening meal, having booked a table for 3. We arrived around 20 minutes early and whilst we were able to sit at our table, we were not served for a good 20-25 minutes and even then, we found that the food did take some time to arrive (the restaurant did seem to be very busy). The food was very good and the portions are quite large so think carefully when ordering. The staff were very friendly, although the main waiter did have a problem in sorting out just what my wife could eat due to her allergy problems. Overall, we were a bit disappointed and thought that the bill at the end was quite high, at £25 per person.

This is a place we'd seen loads of times when passing, wanted to go but never did, until this week.I booked for 10 people for 8 o'clock on Wednesday evening. A couple of late additions meant I called them to change the number on our way there. They had our booking down as Friday! They sorted this and when we arrived there was no issue, 10 of the 12 chose the banquet at £23 per person.It was excellent, different, brilliantly served, food quality and quantity were top class. Usually in a group of this size there are a couple of grumbles but not tonightSome earlier comments say the prices are high - I say we definitely got top quality food at a very reasonable priceSome say it was slow - I'd say too many people want to rush their food and get out - if you go out for a social evening take your time and enjoy it - we didHighly recommended? Definitely we'd go back!!

A very enjoyable and tasty Chinese meal at Bewts-y-Coed. The portion sizes were generous and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

good overall. The staff friendly and food portions were goods size. We a couple of beers there and then decided to order take away. Staff helpful and polite.

We booked a table for 8 as we knew it would be busy on a Saturday night. But we didn't get seated until half 8, and our food took over an hour to arrive. They were very understaffed and the poor staff that were working were run ragged! The food was nice when it arrived, although our starter was very overcooked. The décor needs a clean, very tired and untidy.

We were due to stay there for 3 nights but as soon as we walked through the reception we were immediately disturbed by the bad cleanliness and bad odour of the place in general.We went up to our room that is literally facing the main road so the traffic noise is ridiculous, we walked into the room and it smelled bad, the bed covers smelled bad and the windows were dirty, you could smell the kitchen food fumes through the bathroom window.As a result we had to go back to reception and talk to the host (who desnt really understand English) and explain to her why we cannot stay, but she offered no help or solution, so I asked for compensation and she denied it straight away and said she cannot give us any kind of compensation or alternative.We contacted Booking.com who were unhelpful and also did not offer any compensation so we are now taking legal action against both Booking.com and this dreadful "B&B".I will not recommend to ANYONE staying here and certainly not to use booking.com because they will just ignore you and not care.

This is not a fast food restaurant but that's a good thing. The building is a little quirky but it is most comfortable inside. It is located a few minutes walk from Betws-Y-Coed centre. My wife and I had dinner there with another couple and we guys were impressed with the choice of beers. We were definitely not in a hurry then! We started with half a crispy duck and pancakes between four. It was huge and delicious. We then chose a dish each and again they were huge and delicious. We struggled to finish the dishes......but succeeded! Apparently the theory is that walkers have big appetites. Recommended.

Nice food but felt the portion of dim sum platter was a little meagre. No dipping sauce either. Delicious beef curry. Prices a little on high side.

We had an excellent meal in here. As previous reviewers, the service was slow.The food was nice & we did get a lot, but it was so expensive. We are from London, but even at home I don't pay that much to dine in a Chinese restaurant.For a family of 5 it was way too expensive.

I was advised to book a table and it proved worthwhile as when we arrived a couple were being turned down due to a lack of room. Apparently food is no longer served after 9pm and that is the same through out betws y coed. This is a typical Chinese restaurant however it boasts a range of award winning local Ales and Lagers including one brewed with pure Snowdonia water which was a cool touch . Nothing too fancy but very welcoming, quite cozy and food is standard Chinese quality. I find Chinese food fairly generic across the board and this meets the average expectation. Price not too bad

We have eaten here at weekends over many years and alwazys had a super meal. You may have to wait a little while but it is well worth the wait.

Very quirky east meets N.Wales! Delicious food, bean curd in black bean sauce was one of the highlights. Very friendly staff and prompt service.

Well, it's probably the ONLY Chinese in Betsw-y-Coed - but it's still lovely!Quaint restaurant - only a dozen tables or so - created by knocking 3 cottages together.Lots of rustic charm.Service was fantastic - really, really friendly.Food is typical Chinese fare - perhaps a little on the glutinous side (MSG?), but nonetheless, absolutely delicious.Restaurant is on the outskirts of the village, but easily within walking distance of the village centre.Portions big - we had to take the left overs home in a doggie bag!! :)

We are here New Year's Eve, it was a set menu but have to say every single course was delicious and well presented. If your in the area then you really should eat here at least once, we went back on New Year's Day for another meal and again we wasn't disappointed. We will definitely be back again.Thank you for a great meal.

Stayed for the weekend to go to a local wedding. Very friendly and helpful staff who laughed along with our funny jokes. The owners came to speak to us to ensure our stay was ok and outlined the improvements they were making. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was exceptionally good, very large portions and not expensive. Breakfast was top quality especially the bacon which I usually struggle with. We stayed in room 9 which is a ground floor chalet room with the bathroom off the entrance hall not the bedroom. Great room with TV, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Very warm which was great as it's December. Parking was in front of the chalet off road. We would definitely stay here again.

We live locally and are regulars here.Highly recommended.The food is always very good and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. There is a separate bar and b&b. Beautiful location.

We had a family meal here, the food was nice. Service was good and pretty quick. There was plenty of food for everyone. The restaurant was pretty quiet.

we came to eat family of 4 on my birthday and although the service was slow the food was amazing and the service can be forgiven, simply the best Chinese food I have EVER tasted even our teenagers loved it! Thank you x

First experience and we ordered a takeaway, great food but had to wait 10 minutes when we arrived to even see a member of staff. It was worth it!

Called on the off chance after climbing snowdon and before driving home. Great find as the food is fantastic and the stag excellent. We've decided that if we climb again we shall visit here again afterwards.

Stayed here in September for a week. Tony & his wife couldn't have been more helpful if they tried. I am disabled and the wife was worried about parking close to the chalet Tonys' wife put a cone in a free space for us and told us to cone the parking space off every time we took the car out so we always had a place close to the chalet to park. We used the restaurant on the first night and was so impressed with both the quality of the food and the service we received we had another meal there the night before we left. We stayed in one of the ground floor chalets which we were told had been recently re-furbished and were very pleased with the accomadation it offered. the views out of the front window were lovely and even though we were right next to the main road we could hardly hear anything outside.
