Excellent service with delicious food and a great atmosphere. A very nice way to spend an afternoon with friends in a very pleasant part of Kent.

Lovely place, super food, great room & super dog friendly. Great location for exploring Canterbury, Whitstable, Sandwich etc. cannot wait to go back. I booked in advance & paid the usual rate but there were last minute deals which I missed out on - would probably hang on & book last minute next time.

We always visit this restaurant for special occasions. The food is always of a high quality , and the staff very helpful and friendly. I recently discovered that I am dairy intolerant and they were able to accommodate my dietary requirements with no fuss. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Wow, The Dog is such an amazing place to eat and drink. I've eaten here twice this weekend and both the food, staff and ambience are 5 star. Short rib unbelievably sumptuous. Roast dinner so rich and flavoursome and I could hardly contain myself with pleasure after the biscoff cheesecake. Congratulations to the owners, chefs and all the staff that make The Dog so special.

Had the most incredible night at The Dog for the Celebration menu. Highlight was the scallop starter with coral and squid ink sponge. Wonderful atmosphere where the chefs were celebrated for their skill and craft and the service was second to none. So glad to have brought my family along as guests. Can’t wait for the next evening. Booked for Wednesday to come in with my husband. We've wanted to come for quite some time, and planned exactly what to order weeks in advance, only to find that it was the first night of the new menu! We were greeted and seated quickly and fortunately, we were put in a nice quiet area in the back. We needed quite a while to peruse through the menu - this is why we try to plan weeks ahead! - so both had the gin special as recommended by the gentleman serving us. Everything looked amazing on paper, so we asked our waiter to surprise us and surprised we were. We shared a burrata and mussels to start, which were both equally as beautiful. Our main dished, however blew us away. The chicken was cooked beautifully and all the side bits and pieces were so tasty. Our beef was phenomenal, basically melted in our mouths, heavenly is the only way I could describe it. We were stuffed so just shared one meringue pie between the two of us, a nice light treat to finish off our night. The atmosphere was great, food was incredible and service was 5 star! Luke was just perfect. We had may questions about the new menu, but he was really patient with us and so helpful and clearly loves what he does. Can't beat service with a smile! It also happened to be my birthday and was delighted when a drink had been given to us on the house! A lovely little touch. Cannot wait to return soon.

Amazing food. The Dog at Wingham is superb. A beautiful place with lovely welcoming staff. We wanted somewhere special for a 30th celebration and I couldn’t have picked better. Had to wait over half an hour for our table, didn’t seem concerned about us waiting. Did apologise but said it would be soon. It was about 35 minutes. The people before were half an hour late we were told as we started to sit down to the table, so we had to wait for them to leave. When I mentioned that we had to wait I was told well you’re here now aren’t you!! By the time we sat down it was just after half past eight. Took another 15 minutes before any one came to order our food. A lot of faffing about and more interested that we ordered more drinks. We arrived early and in plenty of time. It had taken us about 50 minutes to get there so to have to wait 35 minutes was annoying. We were encouraged to have more drinks while we were waiting for our table in the bar. The price of the drinks is over the top we felt. £9 for a small glass of house red wine, £9 a pint and £9.50 for a gin & tonic. The food was very good. The funny crispy puff ball with the pork chop was irrelevant and no one ate it. Couldn’t see the point of it. The whisky caramel tart was caramely but couldn’t taste any sign of whisky. The people who had the panna cotta loved it said it was the best they had eaten. It was good food and we enjoyed what we had our company were great and that made the evening for us but very over priced drinks.
