The dining room is very tastefully decorated. Breakfast has a wide range of choices and it’s up to you how small or big you go. Dinner menu is excellent, with several lovely choices and daily specials. The presentation and quality of food are excellent and very appetising. The staff can’t do enough for you. It has a love.y ambience. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited for a (Covid delayed) Birthday lunch with a friend yesterday and all I can say is it was very nicely done, very nicely indeed. The staff were charming, the food was very tasty and arrived in good time. The setting and general atmosphere (bar a diner on a nearby table who kept making hideous screeching sounds by repeatedly moving his chair about without thinking to actually get up)! But at just over £80 including the tip, for 3 excellent courses (and a third desert), plus a couple of soft drinks each and a pot of tea/hot choc after, I thought this was very good value for money as well. So I would definitely go back - I just hope that “Mr Screech Chair” isn’t there when we do!

I took my mum and friend here to try the food before me and my partners wedding next month. The food was amazing, you can tell the menu is really well thought out and the flavour pairings were spot on. The chef clearly knows what they are doing! The portion sizes were perfect and each plate has so many elements that every bite is delicious! The service was perfect, down to them noticing the sun was in my eyes and without asking they closed the shutters until the sun moved. The staff were really attentive, friendly and professional. And lastly the setting is just beautiful! A perfect restaurant for a special occasion. You will not be disappointed! :)

A visit to the marvellous Washy Hall is always a treat and afternoon tea yesterday was no exception. If you live in Lincolnshire we are very lucky to have such a well managed and well staffed Country House that we can all enjoy. Elegant dining room, very well spaced tables not obviously having to have made concessions to Covid: would not be surprised to hear it was always like this. Friendly, well trained efficient staff, would expect anything else? not always the case. Little things matter like the waitress who saw me look as though I might want something & shot over, again why should one appreciate that, well sometimes I think special training is given so that waiters are programmed to march from A-without distraction .The meal was excellent was excellent, interesting and well presented: I think the waitress mentioned that the chef had served at the Ritz which would not have surprised me.This restaurant and the Bronze Pig which I also reviewed put the icing on our weekend in Lincoln

It’s been great to try restaurants we haven’t tried before and we will definitely be returning to the Washingborough Hall hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (one of us is gluten-free) and the food was absolutely delicious! We had the fish starter, steak main and chocolate dessert. I must say, the gluten free bread roll that was given to me before dinner was outstanding! Nicest one I’ve ever had and there is certainly a lot of horrid GF bread out there.Thank you for participating in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme and encouraging us to get out of the house for a meal. We had booked Afternoon Tea at 12.30pm (most hotels do not commence Afternoon Tea service until much later, so to start service @ 12-noon is great) but unfortunately we were half-an-hour late, as our stupid Sat Nav continually directed us to the eastern by-pass around Lincoln, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN BUILT YET. However, the reception staff at the hotel were not in any way put out and could not have been more understanding, warm and welcoming. We were escorted to our table - YAAAY, spotless white tablecloths and linen napkins! - in a beautiful, warm room, overlooking the extensive gardens. The building itself is lovely: big enough to look 'special' but not so large as to appear impersonal or intimidating. The decor is traditional but quite light and airy and although I could possibly say that I have had a slightly better afternoon tea elsewhere, the afternoon tea was still very good and I could not gush enough about the service from all the waiters, waitress and reception staff - quite outstanding and absolutely faultless - friendly, smiling, polite without being obsequious, even better than the service at The Dorchester in Park Lane, Central London, which has always been my yardstick.Everywhere was spotlessly clean (without being clinical) and the ladies toilets were also luxurious and beautifully decorated.Overall an extraordinarily noteworthy occasion and although I am somewhat too long in the tooth to get married again and my 21st birthday is lost in the dim and distant mists of time, this is EXACTLY the venue I would choose to celebrate either or both of those events. Very highly recommended and my heartfelt thanks to all the staff for doing a fantastic job.

The meal itself was delicious and I would highly recommend the sticky toffee soufflé if you have room. We have been to this fantastic Dining Room twice in 6 weeks. The first experience was sublime and we could not believe the superb level of service or the exquisite selection of edible comestibles. Top that with a wine list that offers great variety, affordability and unusual wines and you have a winning combination. Most notably though, if you like bittersweet chocolate souffles for dessert then this is the place for you. On our first visit they were the best I have ever tasted world wide (a very bold statement), the second visit proved it was not a fluke, they were just as eye poppingly good. It's a great place that makes you want to go back to relax and enjoy. On our second visit we ate in the Bar area because we took our well behaved Flat Coated Retriever Dogs. The Dogs loved it and the service and food were just as sublime. Another 5* rating which is unheard of plus its dog friendly. Utterly Superb

What a lovely experience, the selection of sandwiches was just to my taste as i am far more of a savoury person. However the initial starter was the most light Cheese and Chive soufflé, it was slight warm and totally delicious. the sandwich filling were equally lovely especially the chicken, lemon and basil mayonnaise, certainly a filling i will be using at home. I also don't drink tea or coffee so was offered an option of a glass of prosecco, who could say no! the little cakes were certainly well received by my husband who certainly does have a sweet tooth. Rhubarb baleful tarts, Passionfruit Macaroons , Chocolate and lime eclairs and a Salted Caramel Brownie. Of course there were the obligatory scones with Cream and Jam, but my only slight disappointment was that the clotted cream didn't have the usual sticky crusty edge that only clotted cream has. I must stress that this did not distract from the overall effect. The staff were so helpful and chatty and the entire experience was excellent

We were staying at 'Washy Hall' and so it made sense to try the restaurant. The menu had lots of things going for it - an interesting range of dishes and not too many. I really do not like menus with 10 or more dishes offered for each course. The Washy Hall menu had four starters and five main courses - just enough to be interesting but not so many that food was in microwave mode!Between the four of us we tried three of the starters on offer - all were excellent and I would have been happy to eat any of them. Three of our group had the venison for main. The taster I had confirmed the meat was beautifully tender and well cooked. I had the rack of lamb - lovely. I liked it that the waiter came and asked how we liked our meat cooked. This was food prepared for us.Sorry we never got to try the sweets - too full but they did look really good!We were also pleased with our wine - a not over priced Primitivo. It was nice to see a wine list which included a decent range of wines in the £20- £25 bracket ( as well as some more expensive ones). Our waiter was also charming and happy to help. I would happily return to eat at Washingborough Hall - a delightful restaurant.

This is the second time we have been, it wasn't as special as last time due to a large group event being on which detracted from the special ambience as staff were extremely busy and some of the guests rowdy but it was still a lovely experience and to rate less than five would be an injustice. I would definitely recommend. They try very hard to make your meal special, with extra touches that I won't give away but please try it and hopefully you won't be disappointed!

We live close by used to come regularly. I can safely say that this will be the last time we will come here! The food is very poor without seasoning, care and attention. It is blatantly obvious that the chef here cares only for the one he knocks off as not one dish was conceived with flavour in mind! Nondish showed any interest in the guest let alone the ingredients used. The salmon starter lacked any flavour and was dry, the duck had been carved with the grain making a cheap piece of meat even tougher and the pudding was a disgrace! This whole experience with poor wine was utterly overpriced too and their service charge was a further insult to injury after a terrible meal! We were also only given the a la carte menu though we were surrounded by people in the dining room eating from the bar menu. I don't approve of this practice though their food looked infinitely better! For a refined dining experience this place has no qualities and should be avoided at all costs! To save this place the chef simply just be sacked and someone hired who wants to celebrate the flavours of Lincolnshire and cares for the diner!

Myself & 3 friends met up for Afternoon Tea here after being recommended & we were not disappointed. We were shown to the lounge until we all arrived which was relaxing & comfortable & when we were all present we were shown to our table in the dining room. Our table was spacious & beautifully set out. A very helpful waiter took our order & helped us with all of the lovely types of tea offered & brought us a well needed jug of water as it was a warm day. We didn't have to wait long before the waiter & another lovely lady brought our stands of delights. My sister is pescatarian & she had her own stand all to herself! The food was delightful & the best thing was how unusual it was. Not your normal boring sandwiches & victoria sandwich cake but delicious trout scotch eggs....3 different finger sandwiches including chicken & avacado.....houmous.....ham & mango chutney etc. The scones were lovely..warm with lip smacking jam & lashings of double cream whilst the chocolate cupcake with raspberry cream, gooseberry fool with shortbread & small whilte chocolate & fruit tart were all to die for! It all made for a first class afternoon. We were left alone except for refreshing our tea & water etc, which showed excellent attention & service. We had giggles as we all kept forgetting to use the tea strainer for our tea & had to fish out the leaves !!! I had the Orange Pekoe Tea which was very refreshing & unusual. For £19.95 per person it was excellent value & we will return soon. Congratulations 'Washingborough Hall' on showing how afternoon tea should be done....2nd only to Claridges !!

In the run-up to our daughter's wedding in April 2017 we decided to have Sunday Lunch in the WHH Dining Room Restaurant with all the family and we were really taken with it. The food and wine selection are outstanding, very good value, and the staff are very friendly with a focus on attention to detail . We have been back on 3 occasions now, including for evening meals too, (one being the amazing wedding these guys gave us for which we will be forever in their debt), and we would recommend it to anyone.

We ate here on two days whilst staying in the hotel. Do not eat anywhere else as the food is top class well deserving of their AA rosettes. A fairly short menu of 4 starters and 4 mains but the brasserie menu is also available with choices of either menu. Well priced wine menu. Three courses, large portions and bottle of champagne worked out at £65 per head. Afternoon tea was very popular although we did not indulge.

What a picturesque site driving down towards Washingborough Hall. The grounds were beautifully kept. Upon entering the hall the décor was tastefully done and within keeping, the hotel was lovely and clean, our room was stunning, extremely comfortable containing a large 4 poster bed with an amazing bath. When we walked into the hotel we were met by the most beautiful aroma of peonies, roses and stocks. All the floral arrangements had been assembled by the florist - a male member of staff. The staff were so helpful and friendly, they catered for all our needs. Walking into the dining room took my breath away. This whole room was beautifully decorated, the tables were attractively set out, with floral decorations on each table. The food was fabulous, the wedding breakfast menu consisted of pate on toast, sausage and mash, a medley of deserts, followed by tea, coffee and home made fudge - all delicious, all beautifully cooked and very well presented. Later on in the evening an hog roast - smelt good, but sorry was not able to eat due to being so full from eating earlier. All the evening guests commented on how good and tasty the hog roast was. The following morning there was a large party of us for breakfast which was also delicious - cereals, fruit and yogurts, full English, with homemade bread toasted with numerous preserves, orange juice, with plenty of tea and coffee. I really want to thank the wedding planner Aimee, the chef, the florist and all the staff who made my son and daughter-in-law's wedding a most memorable occasion. I most definitely can recommend Washingborough Hall for a wedding, or any special occasion celebration or just for a lovely relaxing mid-week/ weekend break, you will not be disappointed.

When you live in Washingborough, or indeed anywhere within at least 10 miles, why would you ever go anywhere else? The quality of the food, service and surroundings coupled with very friendly staff always make a visit very special. Well done Lucy, Ed, Mark and all the staff and long may this continue.

We enjoyed a excellent Sunday lunch at this superior restaurant. Service was a very high standard made all the more pleasant by the comfortable surroundings of this period hotel. The menu offers four lunch options. The car park was filled with Bentley, Porch and Jaguar cars, indicating the menu and service provided attracts a discerning client. Expect to pay a premium for this dining experience.

I have eaten several times in this restaurant and generally it has been a pleasant experience. However, we had a big family & friends celebration on 2nd October 2016 and we booked tables at the restaurant months and months in advance, as the date of the meal was important to us.To our upset & disgust the hall telephoned to cancel the reservation (and another table) in preference of a wedding fayre. I was told, without an apology that "the hall can cancel tables at any time and it is common for restaurants to do this although Washingborough try not to do it too often"! So beware, if you book a table well in advance for a special meal, and the hotel gets a better offer, such as a wedding / christening etc which requires the whole hall, then your reservation is likely to be cancelled. If you want to secure your table then the only way to do this is to pay for the private room. Living locally, during the quieter week days we attend ladies luncheons, local groups, committee meetings, AGM's etc at the Hall. Therefore I feel disappointed to be treated in this manner when we have supported the Hall for many years as it grew from a small hotel into a grand Wedding venue. It is a shame. We will not visit again.

Lovely building and grounds. I've been here a few times before for weddings and always enjoyed the ambience and food.Came for afternoon tea with my mum and mother in law. Sorry this is late I don't use TripAdvisor much. The service was mediocre to be honest. Not good and not particularly bad. They just didn't seem to care much. But polite. They didn't check on us and I had to go to the reception and bar to order more drinks a few times. Whereas at other places they tend to check on you and offer table service throughout. It wasn't busy. It was a Tuesday or Wednesday with 6 others having afternoon tea also. The food was under par compared to other places where i have had afternoon tea. Quite uninspiring, which is a shame for such a grand looking place. This could have great potential if the staff cared a little more and if there was a little flair or something special about the afternoon tea itself.I would return but would not necessarily recommend to others.Best wishes
