The Didsbury Pub in Manchester

We came here for our friends 20th birthday, the Sunday roast was delicious and service from Chris and Chloe was amazing!

I just wanted to thank the Manager today for being very helpfully with my son’s Autism requirements even during a very busy day in the pub. It’s great to see a more diverse understanding around hidden disabilities making families days out a more relaxed environment within local pubs. The Didsbury are leading the way here and would recommend that this is an inclusive family environment for hidden disabilities. Keep up the great work!!

Had breakfast here, very poor quality and portion would avoid. Nice location, outside seating and internal environment

Excellent atmosphere. Excellent food and service. I respect pets, but my preference is not to have pets in a public eating establishment.

We had a nice time for our family birthday meal here on Tuesday lunchtime. Steven and the rest of the staff were friendly and extremely attentive to the needs of our group, which spanned 4 generations. The food was quite good overall and we appreciated the vegetarian options on the menu. It's a good pub for bringing the family to for a sit down meal, and they've clearly geared the pub to accommodate this.

Had a veggie sausage sandwich it was okay. However, really great atmosphere, really dog friendly. I'll definitely be back to try a more interesting food option!! Fab location in Didsbury as well!!

Our favourite Pub, each time we visit we try something different, we haven't been disappointed so far. Make sure you save room for dessert.

Bank Holiday Monday lunch , great vibe, amazing staff , great food, lots of choice.

Packed, waited 30 mins for our table. Bar full of dirty glasses, told they couldn't serve drinks because of the mess. Walked out without eating!

Came here last week for my birthday - Iona, our server, was very attentive and really accommodating plus gave us some great recommendations on what to have for dinner. Food was incredible, beer was reasonably priced and fresh, service was top-notch. Will recommend The Didsbury to anyone who visits this area 😊

I've always found everything about the pub great apart from the food portions. When you're paying almost £20 for a meal you shouldn't be leaving hungry. It's the first time I've eaten there in a long while...the reason being that I'd forgotten why I don't eat there - stingy portions! Clearly a management decision and never had an issue at other Chef and Brewers. It'll cost you pence to stick a bit more food on...doesn't make any sense to me.

Always have a really nice time here with lots of little areas to drink quietly. The front garden is great in the summertime

There was a mum & baby group there when we arrived, so very loud & busy. They left shortly after. It was then ok

Eleanor (our waitress) was faultless, charming, great sense of humour and kind. We had some delicious siracha burgers and some (little on the pricey side) neck oil. Good vibes in this place.

I hosted a party in the private room upstairs. This is a beautiful space and Becky had made a big effort to decorate it so it looked its cosy best. Abundant, very good buffet. Attentive, friendly service. I hadn't been to The Didsbury before but, on the basis of this experience, I would certainly recommend it.

Having campaigned hard as Chairman of Manchester Civic Society across a large number of public venues to accept physical cash in transactions I am delighted that Greene King has turned this around and once more accept payment in coin and note. Well done Greene King,now no one young,old,disabled will be kept from service.

Favourite place in Didsbury for a cosy catch up after a winter's walk in Fletcher Moss. I only wish the upstairs was a cute as the downstairs. Great wine and coffee though and lovely staff

The Didsbury certainly gets 5 stars all the way. Here's the key reasons why, let's start from driving towards car park. My friend and I arrived about 6.30pm, it was dark and we had never been here before. So first time, and out first impressions were highly impressive with the well lit building, beautiful seating area at front for nice days, warm evenings, be ideal in summer. Heading into car park, a very decent sized car park and headed into the venue. Warmly greeted and sat down, made comfortable and offered main menu and specials menu. Ordered drinks which promptly arrived. Lovely waitress took our order. For Starters, we had Creamy Garlic Mushrooms and Korean BBQ Chicken Strips. Mains, we had Mixed Grill and Smothered Chicken. Puddings, we both had Apple Tart with Custard. All the food was well presented, beautifully cooked and both plates and food piping hot. Was wonderful and delicious. We had a really good meal and we would return, also highly recommended in this cosy venue. Many thanks. Sorry, no photos taken for this review, perhaps next time.

I came here in December, the Christmas decorations were adorable! I was really excited to sit and have a cider but was refused service because of my United States Id. Talk about xenophobia…

Good but a bit cramped - nowhere to sit when we arrived. Venue is nice though

Came here for a meal on New Year’s Eve with family and was blown away by how much this place has improved. This was easily the best meal out I’d had all year, and several members of our party also agreed. Particular standouts are the Signature Burger which was perfectly made and incredibly succulent, and the Rack of Beef Rib which was cooked better than a lot of specialty meat focused restaurants. Service was excellent from start to finish and all requests were dealt with quickly and professionally. I will be coming here more often, and will be recommending it to everyone who will listen! Well done Didsbury team!

By far one of the loveliest meals I've ever had. The starter, a portion of Korean BBQ chicken strips was an extremely well made mixture of sweet and spicy flavour. The beef in the main was slowcooked to perfection and the sticky toffee pudding was the best I've ever had. The staff was friendly, welcoming and cheerful. If you are near and the head chef (John) is in, I would be extremely surprised to find anybody disappointed.

Great value for money and a firm favourite for us for an easy family lunch or early dinner. Good roasts, decent portions, very child friendly and a cosy atmosphere. Thank you to the staff for always being so lovely to our children.

Went for a Sunday roast, had the triple meats roast and the food was lovely. Beef, pork and turkey were nice and tender. Yorkie and crackling were crisp. My only issue would be that peas made up most of the vegetables, I'd have preferred a bit more parsnip and broccoli. Staff were nice and friendly, my friend suddenly had to bring his son with us and they tried to accommodate us but there were no bigger dining tables available, they did inform us we could eat in the bar area and just order at the bar which we did.

Food was a long time coming and was cold we were with some friends over from Spain . Very disappointing. Service staff were good . Didn't make a fuss ,didn't want to spoil the meal.

The staff were lovely, my main meal of beef cheeks was delicious but my dessert of Christmas pudding was a diabolical serving. It looked like it had been through a wringer. Not recommended as a choice.

Big thanks to Assistant Manager Tom for making our visit extra special today. The Trio of Roasts - pork loin, sirloin of beef & turkey breast - was a Sunday lunch winner for my friend Dan and me! And thanks, too, to Steve who took the booking midweek and gave us our chosen spot by the roaring fire!

Wouldn’t recommend this pub as it is card only/cashless , went here on Sunday to grab a quiet pint and went and sat on a table up the little stairs to the left , the table I sat on had a reserved sign (rest of pub was quite busy and loud ) which I did see but I was only having the one pint and wanted a peaceful pint and wouldn’t of been there long and would of quickly stood up and moved if the people who reserved arrived ,anyway one of the staff members came strait over to me and said the table was reserved , the tone he spoke to me in made me instantly say “yes I know and il move when I’m ready or when they arrive” , if he came over and asked me nice and in a respectful way I would of happily got up and moved…overpriced food that isn’t the best just typical pub grub with a high end restaurant price . Beer is slightly overpriced but they do a good Guinness and peroni

The atmosphere is friendly and the food is great. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and will hopefully come again.

Food poor quality had steak and ale pie wasn’t as described, gravy couldn’t poor though a lady waitress did get me another lot that could poor. Not much veg, soggy only small amount chips . Friends had the Christmas dinner , Yorkshire pudding took up most of the plate. The Christmas’s pudding afterwards was just a very small square of Christmas cake. Food was not very hot as seemed to be served on cold plate. . Everything overpriced for what you got.

Lovely spot for lunch. Good atmosphere and very clean. Steven was an absolute pleasure and it’s clear he enjoys his job. Always walked past this place but never made it in so glad to finally give it a go.

Great Sunday Lunch - especially the slow-cooked rib of beef, which was full of flavour. Lovely service too from Laura, who was very attentive without being too fussing. Good value too all things considered.

Food just adequate and for the price I was not impressed! Desert Bakewell tart very poor seemed undercooked with soggy pastry and not what I expected! Creamy garlic mushrooms were sparse and on a chunk of bread! Had prawns on mixed grill but nothing to wipe fingers on after shelling No brandy at the bar either! First pub we have visited that didn’t serve brandy Overall we won’t be returning

My wife and I had an excellent lunch here with friends. All our selections were delicious and our server was friendly and attentive. We can heartily recommend The Didsbury.
