Afternoon Tea (Afternoon Tea/High Tea) One of the most prominent places you will enjoy is Vertnum & Maison (The Diamond Jubilee) No advance reservation required. The atmosphere of the place is mind-blowing. You can enjoy coffee or tea with snacks, and then you can wander around all the floors of the Fortnum. I expect it is on the fifth floor. The food is delicious, delicious, delicious, and the most beautiful of all is that it has a menu for halal food. I highly recommend it. A unique and distinctive experience, and it is one of the most famous places that serve afternoon tea. Service 10/10 Taste 10/10 Prices: reasonable

First time visiting Fortnum & Mason, and it was an absolute âwowâ from the start. The afternoon tea was sensational, beginning with a welcoming glass of champagne. I chose the royal breakfast blend tea, which was so good I took some home. With three of us there, we enjoyed endless refills of finger sandwiches, sweets, and beautiful scones with branded spreads. Anything we couldnât finish, we were able to take back for a late-night hotel snack. Itâs true what they say: you get what you pay for. Donât hesitate to spend a bit more for an experience here; itâs absolutely worth it.

Diamond Jubilee is a beautiful posh location with a very talented live pianist. The seats are very comfortable and the seating areas are beautiful and luxurious. The three staff members I talked to were all very kind and smiley. The service they provided though was underwhelming as they seemed to be understaffed. I had ordered a tea and didnât get it even after forty minutes of waiting. The finger sandwiches were all superb and flavorful. The scones were perfect. The sweets were ok.

Clean, beautiful, has great products. It doesn't get 5 stars because it's too expensive for what they offer and there weren't vegan options for the desserts, nor savory tea dishes. Their delicious scones deserve a special mention, wow.

My experience at Fortnum & Mason's Afternoon Tea was undeniably elegant and tasteful, deserving of a solid four-star rating As I entered this iconic venue, I was immediately enveloped in an atmosphere of refined charm and sophistication. The tearoom exuded an aura of timeless beauty, with its tasteful decor and meticulous attention to detail. The Afternoon Tea itself wasn't exciting, it was rather normal. From the dainty finger sandwiches, brimming with the finest fillings, to the warm scones, served with lashings of clotted cream and preserves, every bite was just average. It didn't disappoint but it didn't excite either. It was the impeccable service that truly elevated the experience. The staff were attentive, gracious, and utterly committed to ensuring that every moment of my visit was nothing short of perfection.

So I visited Fortnum and Mason's Tea Salon on Valentine's Day with my fiance for Afternoon tea, something we were looking forward to. After giving them feedback through their email, and not even receiving an acknowledgement of the concerns in our email and our experience after 6 weeks, I thought it would be time to write a review of our experience. Below is the email sent to them where I received nothing in return: 1 - consistency of service. Although recommended the sweet and savoury afternoon teas (which was fine) and were offered extra sandwiches, we were never offered more tea, despite others around us getting the option. To add to that, my fiance and I were looking at the afternoon tea list to decide on what teas to have, and the service offered us two: English Breakfast or Lady Grey. We both felt we didn't have the opportunity to ask for others, again in contrast to others who did. Also, we never had the option of tap water; we were immediately offered still or sparkling and nothing else. It was only after we had finished the bottle of still water that we were given tap water to drink. Disappointing, and slightly disingenuous. What made it worse was we were on the edge of another waiter's section, and we saw the service they were providing - talking, asking if pictures wanted to be taken, giving recommendations on tea - and we got nothing. Sad to say, it did cross my mind that, because we were two men, we were getting a different service.   2 - quality of food. Although the sweet afternoon tea was generally fine, and it all looked rather picturesque, the savoury was underwhelming: the savoury scones were dry, the duck pate really needed crackers to go with it, and some of the other savouries just were not nice. The sandwiches were also inconsistent; for example, some sandwiches had a thin layer of smoked trout while others had double the amount. The egg mayonnaise sandwiches also suffered the same fate. There was even one sandwich where 1/4 of the bread was missing!  For the price, I would expect far greater consistency. Overall, the experience was extremely underwhelming, and what we hoped would be a special afternoon celebrating our first Valentine's Day as an engaged couple, turned out to be a deflating one where we ended up being eager to leave. So would I go back? For the shop, more than likely. For the restaurant? Not a chance, not just for the general service but also the fact that there wasn't even recognition of their underwhelming service. I've emailed places before both praising and criticising, and I can't remember a time when I haven't had a reply thanking or apologising/ asking for more feedback. Fortnum's is the exception, and it slightly smacks of arrogance. I get it - it's Fortnum and Mason's, and my review will do nothing in the grand scheme of things. But it leaves a slightly bitter taste. If you want an amazing afternoon tea - Cafe Royal or Rubens at the Palace. They're banging.

Overall disappointing afternoon tea service, which was thus poor value for money. The lady who greeted us at the reception desk was brusque and said "Sit down and Ill see what I can do" even though we arrived at exactly the time of our booked reservation. At our table we waited a long time to be served. The drinks came a long time after the sandwiches. We asked for a second cup of tea and had to wait about half an hour for it. The quality of the food itself was, as ever, great. We have been here many times before but sadly I don't think we can bring ourselves to come again unless we were going to get better service. It no longer feels special.

We were at the last seating at 6:30pm. The service staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. However, the food was replenished at snail pace. The bread of the finger sandwiches did not appear to be fresh. Went for afternoon tea. I had been twice before prior to covid and had a wonderful experience. It's gone down hill. Service was ridiculously slow. I had the afternoon tea made without dairy, which previously had been excellent. It was poor. Whilst the sandwiches were nice, the scones were so hard they were difficult to cut and more like a biscuit. Had I not been in a large group I would have sent them back as they were almost inedible. We weren't offered more cake. Our additional sandwiches took so long we had finished the rest before it arrived. Additional drinks orders came after our food had gone. For ÂŁ80 a head not including drinks it was terrible value and I won't be visiting again. It's gone touristy and gimmicky.

Me and two friends were so excited to try this highly rated tea room for our trip to London. We are college kids who wanted to make the most of our time and spent hours researching. We landed on the Diamond jubilee based on the reviews. Our reservation was at 11:45 and we were seated a little earlier than such. Our waiter came over and got us water and explained the menu. From there it went downhill. We had ordered 3 afternoon teas meaning we got three towers of the food that came along. We only got two plates of pastries so we asked about the 3rd and were assured they were on the way. 20 minutes later there was nothing. We asked again and again, were assured it was coming. Finally, after another 15 minutes we asked and then after another waiting period we got them. During our wait, we watched other tables get the exact plate of deserts we asked for, tables that were seated after us. This was a consistent trend throughout our experience where we had to ask three times for anything we wanted and with considerable wait. Food wasnât bad and neither was the tea but this service prevented us from enjoying our time. We asked for the check and to speak to someone and were told we had run out of our 1 hour 45 min time limit. This was the final straw as not only were we trying to leave, the reason we ran out of time was because we had to wait so long for everything we asked for. We were able to speak to Rossi and she was great and understanding, but by then it was too late we were so disappointed that it ruined the experience. Two stars for food and how it was handled in the end, but for 80 pound we were disappointed and wouldnât come here again.

Spontanes Tea Tasting?

It took a while to be seated even though we had booked , we had a savoury tea which had a hot starter and we tried the savoury scones which came late and the sauces even later . the sweet scones and cakes were brought at the same time as our hot starter which meant they were cold by the time we ate them . The tea went cold and had to keep reminding them to top it up . The bill was brought without us requesting it which I always find rude . With such a high price tag I was expecting much better quality and service .

The tea room itself is lovely, well decorated and I loved the touch of classic fortnum mason colors. The tea selection was huge and the tea itself was delicious and aromatic. This is about all that was positive about our afternoon tea experience. Food wise, the sandwiches were very bland. They were all mustard/mayonnaise based and tasted too acidic but also very similar to each other. They felt heavy as if to fill stomachs so that you wouldn't eat more. The scones were tough and dry. When attempting to slice them in half, they would crumble. The jam and creams were tasty but they were lost against the sandy scones. The desserts were not standouts at all, I think out of our selection of 5 we really only enjoyed one. They were very dense, again as if meant to be heavy fillers. They all tasted similar and not like the flavour profiles that they were named after. In general just very off-putting. The service was non-attentive, they didn't explain the menu or check in on us. When we were first given the sets, the descriptions of each item was very rushed and difficult to understand. We heard many customers leaving with extra cake boxes at the end but this wasn't offered for us (tho we did observe a few tables receive cake slices to take home). So even though we left feeling full, the food itself wasn't satisfactory and we didn't get a chance to refill on anything but the tea. All in all, not worth the high price tag on a mediocre experience.

When we planned our 10th Anniversary in Europe my husband excitedly booked this place months in advance knowing I love a decadent high tea in a beautiful setting. This very expensive place disappointed on every front except the tea sandwiches - they were good. They placed us at the table beside the entrance to the kitchen where the loud and constant sound of silverware being thrown in the bin was âcomplimentedâ by the constant earthquake of the servers running past us with trays for all other diners. This table was also directly beside a large and loud group of ladies (having fun - but not where you seat a couple celebrating a romantic occasion). The disgraceful ripped and food stained menu we received to order from was more diner than high tea. While there was a grand piano we could not hear it at all from the distance and the noise pollution we were surrounded by. Our server was very junior and constantly had to be flagged down as he did not seem to understand the concept of quality check or that glasses needed to be refilled including that I may have wished for another overpriced glass of sparkling wine to remain calm amongst the terrifying din around us so as to not disappoint my husband who planned this âromanticâ $500? $700? CAD experience that was much like McDonalds but with better sandwiches. Our tea was served on a 3 tier tray with no adornments not even a doily to keep the condiments or desserts in place and the disheveled off centre pile they arrived to our table at was very unappealing. Most disappointing though was going to the restroom and seeing other quieter sections with many empty tables and nice quiet couples where they could have seated us. Instead they sat the couple celebrating their 10th anniversary who booked months in advance at their worst possible table. There was no care here. Not for our comfort, not for our occasion. We saw walk ins get better tables than us while we waited for our special table because we arrived a bit early!!!! I have never had such a disappointing tea experience in my life - and this was for 4x the price I have ever paid. My husband believed that if the Queen approved of this place it was good. It was not. Avoid this place.

Reading the reviews I can see that they are very mixed â from one extreme to the other. I can only report on our experience today, which was excellent. I came with my son, who treated me to High Tea with a glass of champagne; I also chose the Fortmason tea blend, which was amazing. High Tea is one of the options to choose from, as well as savoury, vegetarian and classic; you get a small hot dish from a selection. We choose the Welsh rarebit, which was delicious. The staff were just so nice to us! And when we left with our little bags of cake we couldn't fit in, a lady on the ground floor spotted us and provided us with carrier bags to make it easier for us to take them home. As my son said, this attention to detail made it feel like an old-fashioned department store (in a good way.) The colours of the tins of loose tea and packs of teabags are a feast for the eyes. We felt we had really enjoyed a treat.

Don't rely on the 4.4 star rating like we did. This experience was very disappointing. 80.- each (plus service at 20.-) for a few cartilaginous and bland mini sandwiches, 2 uninteresting scones each, and 4 or 5 tasteless mini pastries đ„Č We couldn't believe it. We were served without explaining to us what we were going to eat. For the same price you will have brunch in a palace in Switzerland as much as you want.

Afternoon Tea is a traditional afternoon tea with sandwiches scones and desserts on a beautiful cake stand. Huge range of teas as you would expect with a premium cream tea. Ambiance is relaxing with piano being played in the background and traditional decour. The diamond room is across the whole of the 4th floor of Fortnum & Masons - a little bit more relaxed than the other restaurant areas there. Very much a treat to spoil yourselves. Loved the tea zero alcohol alternative to champagne as well. Tea sandwiches and cakes all keep coming in the one price by the way (if you have room) and of course you have a very posh take home box for the bits you canât finish if you want that. As a note - compares very well with the other premium tea rooms in London and around the country.

So disappointing. More than 80ÂŁ for what ? Bland sandwiches, uninteresting pastries and 2 poor scones each. Yet I don't have expensive tastes. The service was bad.

Great place to get afternoon tea. It's definitely pricey, but the quality of the food and service is worth it. They are very attentive and quick with the first order. You can also order extras of the items you like after or try any teas. It's also really beautiful venue. I love the Tiffany blue tea set and the design of the place. The scones were also really good. Very buttery and not dry at all. The only thing I would not recommend the hot chocolate. Tasted like powdered chocolate water, so definitely order a tea instead. I also really enjoyed the savory afternoon tea set.

I had the savoury, my wife went for 'dairy-free' as she's lactose intolerant. The dairy free scones were the universal intolerance/vegan scone, so gluten free with a horrible texture and completely tasteless. Her cakes weren't any better. My savoury scones were very good, but the 'savoury patisserie' was mostly fat based - a huge lump of cheese on a soggy, chewy, 'cracker' and a solid mass of pate. As a result after trying a couple of them I developed nausea that prevented me finishing the first round. So my wife abandoned hers as it was tasteless, and I abandoned mine as it was nauseating. Still had to pay almost ÂŁ200 for it. ***Avoid like the plague.***

We paid ÂŁ90 for a completely average experience, the 2 stars Iâm giving are for the staff who were very friendly, the food was so bad, the sandwiches had been made a while ago so the bread was all dry and the filling just not tasty, pastries tasted like supermarket , for that price you would really expect fresh tasty food, we left so underwhelmed and disappointed, I really do not recommend it

Thank you again to all of the team! We had an amazing time. The service was excellent and everyone was very attentive, especially Colin, David, Elena and two waiters (who I must confess I have forgotten their names!). The food offering was also excellent, with the Lobster Truffle Omelette (part of the High Tea) being the highlight! The ambience also was unmatched too with a highly skilled pianist there to greet you.

Thank you again to all of the team! We had an amazing time. The service was excellent and everyone was very attentive, especially Colin, David, Elena. I brought my parents along here who were celebrating their silver anniversary, and they came away saying that it was truly special. The food offering was also excellent, with the Lobster Truffle Omelette (part of the High Tea) being the highlight! Of course there was a great selection of the famous Fortnums Teas, which was well explained and recommended by the staff respective to our tastes. The ambience also was a perfect accompaniment to our afternoon tea with a highly skilled pianist there to greet you and a really relaxed family atmosphere in the rooms.

Sorry to say this was the worst quality afternoon tea my husband and I have ever had. The service was excellent but the food was not. We had the vegetarian tea and while all was edible, it simply wasnât that good. Thatâs unfortunate because the atmosphere is nice enough and the store offers an excellent tea blend that we canât find anywhere else.

Although this is my favorite place for afternoon tea, the people at the reception never fail to ruin my experience. I hope they learn how to smile. Once I didnât have a reservation and they refused to seat me saying that even if there is an available table they wouldnât let me take it because itâs not fair for people who made a reservation moths in advance. Basically they didnât want to seat me. Regardless of that the food in the time I sat was perfect and generous.

Introduction: My recent visit to celebrate a double birthday celebration left me thoroughly disappointed with the poor service and the unaccommodating attitude of the waiter. The Incident: Upon arriving at the salon, my mom, sister and I were excited to indulge in a memorable experience. However, our high hopes were shattered when we encountered several issues. One major disappointment was the refusal of the waiter to add a special writing to the cake cupcake they brought. Their reasoning was that a large number of people were already celebrating that day. This lack of accommodation left us feeling dejected and unvalued as customers. Poor Service Experience: In addition to the refusal regarding the cake, the overall service throughout our visit was far from satisfactory. The staff appeared indifferent. Our requests for additional tea and water were met with delay and indifference, leaving us feeling neglected and ignored. Lack of Personalized Attention: As it was a double birthday celebration, we had expected a certain level of personalized attention and warmth from the staff. However, this sentiment was completely disregarded. The staff failed to acknowledge the special occasion or make any effort to enhance our experience. Conclusion: My experience at Fortnum & Mason Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon fell far short of expectations, causing immense disappointment and frustration. The refusal to accommodate a small request, combined with poor service and a lack of personalized attention, left us feeling undervalued as customers. Considering the numerous alternative dining options available, it is regrettable to say that I would not recommend the Fortnum & Mason Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon based on my recent experience.

Went to meet a mate for a couple of pints and Sunday roast. Itâs a lovely old pub, and in fairness itâs probably geared up more to the tourists, especially as Paddington Station is just down the road.
