The Devenish in Belfast

Overpriced, rude and ignorant staff and will never return! The whole experience was farcical from start to finish and is the only downside to my 4 weeks working in Belfast.. we had zero chance of the food order being correct when the server got the drinks order wrong, for the 2 drinks we ordered!! The food itself is not worthy of taking up anymore time typing.. I’ll leave it at that

Visited the Devenish on friday 30th april, 1st day of reopening. The staff were rushed off their feet but amazing and so kind! Fra and Rachel were especially lovely. Thanks for a fab day!

Fui a Devenish el sábado 26 de septiembre por la noche para tomar una copa con amigos ahora que los bares están abiertos nuevamente. Parece que las noticias no han llegado al Devenish y el camarero nos pidió que pidiéramos comida y nos dijo que nos multarían si no teníamos un recibo y llegaba PSNI, estafa. Tenga cuidado.

Llamé aquí hoy con mi esposa, mi hija y mi yerno, y aunque normalmente no me quejaría ya que la comida al final de las cosas tenía el 50%, pero era tan malo que tengo que dejar que la gente no coma aquí.Tuve el sándwich de carne. con solo puedo describir que para las personas mayores que leen esto como hace años, cuando yo era un niño, la gente vino a las puertas y nos dio sarpullidos de la UE que eran latas blancas de bistec para guisar, la mayoría de la gente les dio esto a los perros como comida para perros, pero no estábamos tan bien, tenía la consistencia del relleno en mi sándwich de carne hoy, solo la lata de carne para guisar de la UE en realidad tenía un sabor, que en realidad es mi mayor problema con la comida de hoy, todo lo que obtuvimos fue totalmente soso y esto no es fácil de hacer, se necesita una verdadera habilidad para hacer una comida tan insípida como esta. Mi hija pidió el pollo bang bang y papas fritas condimentadas con queso, que dejó aproximadamente el 70% de su comida, pero es cortés al quejarse y aún así dejó una propina de 5.Probé un trozo de su pollo bang bang, fue horrible, el pollo estaba tan seco como el cartón, creo que hizo muy bien en comerse el 30% de esta comida sin daño, debe haber sido como una prueba de bush tucker, en cuanto a los lados, comí sal y papas fritas con ajo en las que se extendieron chips congelados con sal y hojuelas frías sentado en una nuez de mantequilla de ajo sin absolutamente ningún sabor, y encima de todo esto se olvidaron de la orden de mi esposa, así que cuando llegó su costado estaba frío y no podía comerlo, lo que en retrospectiva ahora le hizo un verdadero favor. Mira, la última vez que reservamos para comer en el Devonish fue en el cumpleaños número 70 de mi suegra hace unos 18 meses y la comida era excelente, así que realmente no pudimos entender cómo se ha puesto tan mal, tan rápido, vamos Devinsh, consígalo .

Llegué a un letrero "Espere a que le revisen la temperatura antes de entrar", así que esperó poco más de 5 minutos hasta que alguien nos notó, las temperaturas estaban bien enviadas al restaurante y le dijeron que hablara con alguien en el mostrador, les dijo que teníamos un reserva y ella dijo "oh, solo has reservado para 2 personas, la mesa que te hemos dado no acepta una trona". Le expliqué que cuando me preguntaron por teléfono para cuántos cabía la mesa, dije para 2 adultos y un niño pequeño, pero el niño pequeño se sienta en una silla normal, así que dije que era para 3 (yo, mi pareja y nuestro hijo de 2 años), la niña se paró un minuto mientras otras 5 meseras se pararon a su lado incómodamente y ella dijo "sí alguien realmente necesita algo, esto se está llenando de gente ", me llevaron a nuestra mesa, se sentó a mirar el menú y me acercaron de nuevo para que me dijeran que lo sentimos, le hemos dado la mesa equivocada, necesitamos trasladarlo a esta más pequeña".Pedimos nuestras bebidas, unos minutos después pedimos los entrantes y llegaron unos 10 minutos más tarde, los nachos estaban quemados, no el queso, sino las patatas fritas y las alas eran difíciles de sacar el pollo del hueso, pero en general un buen sabor. Terminamos nuestros entrantes y apilamos los platos, pero 15 minutos después no se habían limpiado. Nuestra hija apenas tocó su bolagnese porque dijo que no le gustaba y después de que la probamos no nos molestamos en pedirle que comiera más porque no era la mejor, la carne picada estaba seca y sin sabor. Finalmente, la mesa se despejó y esperamos los platos principales, otros 15 minutos más tarde llegaron, así que poco más de media hora desde que terminaron los entrantes hasta que obtuvieron nuestros platos principales.Le di la segunda estrella en la revisión porque las pizzas eran decentes, pero lo peor de toda la comida fue el chile salado y los chips de ajo, los pedimos porque pensamos que iban a tener mucho sabor con una buena salsa de ajo. . Nos dieron literalmente un plato de papas fritas con una pizca de hojuelas de chile, terminamos quitando las hojuelas de chile y nuestra hija se comió las patatas fritas en lugar de su pasta, lo que demuestra lo insípidas que eran (foto adjunta)Los platos principales terminaron nos sentamos durante 20 minutos esperando antes de que finalmente me rindiera y tuviera que ir a pedir la factura. Pasé 2 horas aquí y la mayor parte estaba esperando en lugar de comer. No me apresuraría a regresar y estaría agradecido de haber ido un martes porque habría sido reacio a pagar el precio completo por nuestra experiencia.

Making the most of this offer to have a mid week meal and it didn't disappoint. Service was a little slow due to it being packed but not so much that you'd get annoyed waiting. Friendly service, lovely food. Would definitely go again

Buen pub local para un brunch o una cena.Hemos estado allí pocas veces. Buenos precios. Buen personal.Teníamos hamburguesas, bistecs, bocadillo de puerco desmenuzado y costillas. Nunca tuve una razón para quejarme de la comida, sin embargo, la calidad coincide con el precio.Sin embargo, cuando se trata de bebidas. . . quédate con tus pintas o tragos. Los cócteles no son de primera categoría. El menú suena bien, pero la forma en que se hacen está un poco lejos de las recetas adecuadas.

Ignored, stood at the bar for 15 minutes while a guy with black glasses served everyone around me , literally had to leave the bar and send my girl friend over and as soon as she went she got served straight away , stop being sexist and serve people as they arrive

The food was disappointing burgers very dry fish was tasteless and the 5 Bean chilli had no taste it was just a tomato based sauce. Then the a singer came on and we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The staff who served us were great.

Went for lunch today 19/01/20 with my two daughters!! Food and service were impeccable!! Special mention to Clare, Lauren and Paul!! Thanks for everything!! Will definitely be back xx

Had a great Xmas day dinner with my family some came from abroad it was in the big hall in the Devenish the food was delicious pipping hot and loads of it we couldn’t move 4hrs afterwards, would defo go back

Have been here on many occasions but definitely won’t be returning,I had family home for Xmas and brought them here for a night out ,there was literally empty drug bags floating on the toilet floors in urine they looked and smelt disgusting

Got married in the devenish complex and have to applaud the staff for being so friendly and attentive. Nothing was left to chance. Really well organised and the food was something to behold. Definetely a venue for wonderful food or if your the marrying kind a beautiful wedding.

Was at the Quinn wedding last night 15/8/and I would have to say it was 1 of the best I have every been to, the food was absolutely fantastic and the whole room lay out was breathtaking, I will be asking about availability for my wedding and would highly recommend it to anyone ,I woke up this morning wanting that food all over again gorgeous thanks you Chef

Tenía a mis hijas en casa en el Devenish mientras salían en una brillante noche de entretenimiento, desde la cena, clase magistral de cócteles, menús personalizados y asientos reservados en el gran bar. La comida era excelente y para todos. Los chicos que hicieron la clase de cóctel fueron increíbles y se sumaron a la diversión. Pero nuestra camarera Victoria fue absolutamente excepcional y nada y quiero decir que nada era demasiado para ella. Se aseguró de que todos estuvieran bien atendidos y fue muy amable, hizo que nuestra experiencia fuera un poco más especial. . . . La música en el bar era brillante y la banda incluso se unió a mi hija y sus gallinas en la actuación. . . . . Para una experiencia increíble de despedida de soltera, definitivamente lo recomendaría aquí. . . . Lo único negativo fue que tuve que cancelar el stripper ya que los Devenish no lo permiten por alguna razón. Pero al final de la noche no lo extrañaron

Visited with my 19 year old daughter as she’d eaten here with her friend before and loved it, and she wanted me to try their cocktails. I’d been with a friend of mine once for lunch (alcohol free!) and enjoyed it too.Menu had changed since my daughter was last here but we asked if she could have some chicken goujons or strips with pepper sauce for her main course and despite it no longer being on the menu, they checked with the chef and obliged. She didn’t want a side with it, so they charged her slightly less accordingly, which was very decent of them. They went above and beyond to arrange this main course for her. The staff here are brilliant! The goujons were very good, and plenty of pepper sauce. She was delighted. We shared our starters and desserts - all great, except the white chocolate cheesecake which we didn’t like.I had a burger and Parmesan fries for my main course. Enjoyed both.The food was very good - presentation, quantity and quality mostly very good.The highlight, besides the excellent serving staff, was the cocktails. I asked for one that wasn’t even on their menu and the barman obliged. I can also recommend their bubblegum cocktail if you have a very sweet tooth.Our bill came to approx £60 for 2 starters, 2 mains, one side, 2 desserts and 5 cocktails. Excellent value.The live music was a bonus. They were in the bar which is part of the Devenish complex, open plan to the restaurant. They played a very eclectic mix of covers, including some 80s to noughties pop and rock, and a few obscure one-offs.Didn’t expect to hear a live band (two guys) on a Sunday evening singing “Horse outside”. Never heard that song before but it’s unforgettable, and I don’t think I’ll hear that ever again in a restaurant/bar. I was just glad my 12 year old son wasn’t with us, so if you’re planning to eat there with the kids you may wish to check first whether the band are playing.I’d definitely return here and am happy to recommend it.

My husband and I had an early dinner here. We were recommended by our B&B; host about this place and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and I asked for a dirty martini which the bar tender kindly made for me. It wasn’t on the bars normal drinks menu. This is a sports bar with a great restaurant. Highly recommend it. The atmosphere is good and the service is very good.

Visited a few times for food and drinks.. The devenish is perfect for family dinners, events, and even just a night out with the other half or the girls..

Después de haber estado yendo al Devenish durante muchos años, lamento que el estándar haya disminuido bastante. La comida solía ser de un alto nivel, buena variedad ya un precio razonable. Ahora la variedad es muy limitada, ha aumentado de precio y el estándar ha bajado considerablemente. Lo mejor del restaurante es Tanya, Claire y Vicky. Son un activo para los Devenish. Las normas tienen que mejorar o los Devenish sufrirán a lo grande.

Firstly, I must say that I'm reluctant to write this review as I was previously a loyal fan of this local but I believe if the owners don't get their acts together, they will lose a great deal of custom.

We were looking for a place to have a cocktail before a concert and grab some food at the same time. We were not planning on going to this place but the atmosphere around it pulled us in. We were able to order 3 light bar bite for only £10 which was very cheap for the amount of food we got. We also loved the cocktail range on the menu. One of the waitresses Vicky noticed we were drinking cocktails and came over to tell us about a new summer cocktail they were working on that tasted like a salario ice cream but it wasn't on the menu yet but we should definitely try it. All the staff were lovely and the perfect place to go for a drink. Live music also started just as we were leaving

Had brilliant customer service at the bar along with tasty cocktails and bar bites. Vicky from the restaurant made and extra effort to make our visit special as she knew we were having drinks and suggested a new cocktail not on the menu yet, brilliant experience.

Was at the devenish on father's day with my family can not recommend this place enough the service was second to none the waitress vicky could not do enough for us, my we boy wanted a milksake as it was his birthday and they are not on the menu I thought I would have a disappointing boy but vicky sure did put a smile on his face as she got on made for him, I will be recommending the devenish to my friends and family, its a big thumbs up for me, food was delicious, thank you vicky.

Was here at The Devenish for my 60th Birthday on Saturday Evening of the 08/06/19.

The pub is always amazing 5/5 for that. The restaurant attached, however, started off amazing and has been in decline since. Tonight myself and my girlfriend attended for a meal and a few drinks. We were left to pick out our own table and had to wait 5 minutes for menus. The service was slow for having 9 staff in the restaurant. The steak was over cooked and not left to rest leaving a massive puddle on the plate. The burger and fries were also burnt. We then ordered dessert to then be left waiting 15 minutes before a member of staff approached and asked if we got them. She then checked the till and informed us they weren't ordered. Very disappointed in the staff and quality of food. Was definitely the best place on the road for food and drink only to have declined. The waitress Claire stopped this being 1 star as she was fantastic.

Este lugar solía ser increíble el sábado por la noche, asistí anoche y tenían una banda de música en vivo tocando música (no pudimos esperar hasta que se tomaron un descanso, porque se escuchó mejor música en ese momento, 1 hora de la calle. y no bailaban ni cantaban, entonces solían tener una hermosa área para fumar con césped falso, el césped falso está apareciendo al costado, el área para fumar ahora se ve terrible, el piso detrás de la barra necesita ser reemplazado, este lugar necesita urgentemente A partir de ahora en adelante, el mantenimiento y un mejor entretenimiento como el que solía tener, lamentablemente, este será mi primera opción para salir por la noche. Sin embargo, el personal sigue siendo maravilloso.

Estuve en una fiesta familiar anoche en la venganza. Todo estaba prepago 500 para salón, DJ y comida. . La comida era deliciosa, pero solo se dejó fuera por menos de 2 horas. . A las 12 h, todo fue eliminado sin ninguna advertencia o explicación. Cuando me enfrenté al gerente fue muy grosero, le informé que estábamos llevando la comida sobrante a un albergue cercano (seamos sinceros, hay gente en nuestra comunidad local sin nada) solo para que ella me mirara de arriba abajo y le preguntara DE NUEVO Yo quería la comida. . Como perdon pero lo pagamos, es nuestro para tomar. . Entonces me dijeron, con bastante ignorancia, que TODO estaba ahora en el fondo de los contenedores por la parte de atrás. . ¡Estaba completamente disgustado! No solo con ese desperdicio, sino también con la naturaleza de callos de cómo fuimos tratados mi familia y yo. . El cielo no te permita tratar de hacer nada bueno en estos días. . La imagen adjunta a esta revisión es en realidad lo que se tiró. . Lo tomé después de que todos tenían algo que comer. . Todo un buffet en la papelera. . Nunca celebraría otro evento aquí. .

Fantasic pub with an amazing atmosphere,great selection of drinks and good music. Extremely busy,but worth it!

Tuvimos una comida encantadora a mitad de semana. El marido tenía un bistec tamahawk que realmente disfrutaba y yo tenía lubina y los dos tenían sopa para empezar. Pocas bebidas en conjunto muy agradable. El personal era muy servicial y cortés. Tenía otra bebida en el bar principal que estaba animado.

¡Pensé que era importante tomarse un minuto para felicitar a todo el equipo en el Devenish! Decidimos el último minuto para salir en Año Nuevo y, aunque muy ocupado y lleno, el equipo en el restaurante se acomodó felizmente en nuestra mesa para 3 personas. Vicky que asistió a nuestra mesa fue una de las camareras más amigables que he visto. Ella era muy amable y pragmática y nos hizo sentir muy cómodos. . . es agradable cuando alguien interactúa así, ya que muestra un toque personal real y una de las principales razones por las que volveremos al restaurante. Vicky y el resto del personal también nos dieron una mesa en el centro del restaurante por el resto de la noche hasta la hora de la casa.

I have gone to the Devenish many times and enjoyed it. I went with my family mid afternoon on the 29th Dec had something to eat but it was spolit by very loud music... definitely not family friendly....difficult to talk to each other....great place but please turn the music down....think of your wider audience...

Had a fantastic night staff were friendly and efficient bar was ran well although drinks a litte expensive but worth it. Bouncers were also great dealt with one situation extremely well.

Great location. Brilliant bar staff. Always great live bands on and never fails to live up to expectations!!!! Ballroom is always good for sports entertainment and seasonal entertaintment.

Wentto the Devonish last night with my family to watch the Wolf tones and what a disgraceful event it was ,the hole place was empied of any seating areas floors were absolutely soaked with drink Ifell twice and I hadn't even had a drink , when I asked the door staff could I have a high stool to sit at the one table we were at he nearly took my head off . Other people had stools but as usual it's who you know up in that place . I spent £100 pound on tickets to an event that was more like a rave than a concert .total shambles money making scheme for those involved . That will be the first and last so called concert I will ever go to . The Devonish is a disgrace . My new coat ruined I've been up all night with back pain from the falls . Best part of the night was getting into that taxi and heading home !!!!!

I'm always on at my husband to go eat in the Devenish and he finally gave in.... as he had a surprise party arranged for my 40th. Brilliant cocktail menu and wine list at reasonable prices. Fabulous food and prices. Lovely lovely staff. The food at the party buffet was excellent also. Coeliacs well catered for. Takeaway cartons left out for folk to take food home which was great. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely return to the restaurant

Visité el restaurante la tarde del martes 2 de octubre con mi familia para cenar. Que maravillosa experiencia La comida era excelente, en particular la merluza frita y los filetes. Los postres también fueron deliciosos. La experiencia fue agregada considerablemente por la muy eficiente camarera Cara y un joven caballero cuyo nombre no recuerdo (lo siento) que también era encantador y eficiente. Se ofreció amablemente a hacer una investigación en línea para un whisky en particular para nuestro visitante estadounidense. Definitivamente vamos a estar de vuelta. Bien hecho equipo Devenish

Called in here for a few cocktails & have to say they were very nice & quite reasonably priced too at £4.95 each. A wedding party came in shortly after us but this didn't affect us getting served as the staff were very attentive. We got a few platters of food as well - including chicken bites, chicken wings & garlic bread with cheese. To be honest I wasn't overly impressed with the food, but the quality of the cocktails & the staff more than made up for it. Recommended for an afternoon drink, nice setting inside

I along with some 25 other members of our families meet for my Sister's 75th Birthday dinner on Sunday 26th August. We arrived around 5pm and were greeted by some wonderful staff and shown to our reserved seating which was a "snug" area close to the Restaurant kitchen..

Was in this restaurant for a small birthday celebration for my partners mother, it couldn't have went better, excellent food and friendly staff, especially our waitress Vicky, couldn't have got a nicer waitress, 5 star service.

Staff are so welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious! Really lovely atmosphere in the bar and the restaurant. Have visited a number of times and it’s always been the same great experience!

My family and l went for a meal to the Devenish a few times the foods always been great though the chicken maryland was very disappointing the bands are really good and the atmospheres good

Main course was disgusting and was really poor quality. The burger and chips were both clearly frozen. Not one of the staff members approached us during our meal to ask was everything ok, they were probably afraid of our response. There were more staff than customers in on our visit and I had to go up to the bar to ask for the bill. To be fair any of the girls I dealt with were lovely, it's just a shame no one bothered to check on us during . Definitely won't be back or recommending.

Called in for a quick bite with the family on a Saturday evening. Really good quality pub grub and the service was fantastic. Great cocktails at a very reasonable price too. Also a really good atmosphere in the place.

Este Pub esta situado en las afueras de Belfast, cerca de una parada de tren en la calle: Finaghy road north 33-37, lugar excelente para cenar y despues tomar algo, excelente comida y mejor servicio, muy atentos,muy simpaticos, un lugar muy comodo,lejos de la multitud de la ciudad, buena calidad del producto y precio adecuado, el plato de la foto 9'95 libras, una ensalada cesar 8'50 libras el alcohol como siempre bastante caro dos copas de vino tinto 9'90 libras. Recomendable para ir con amigos cuantos mas mejor.

Ordered salad which was missing key ingredients, also ordered bruschetta which was on day old bread and tasteless. Duck spring rolls were deep fried with over sweet syrup like dressing on it. Overall, extremely disappointing.

Served a Pernod in a plastic pint glass !!! ‘Nuff said Would not return , though Jim Brown was great as usual.

Had a great time at the Devenish yesterday. Food amazing and staff really helpful especially Leanne and Sharon. Definitely the place to be for any occasion. Ty to everyone for giving us all a great day out xxx

Been here twice now and the food is lovely, good selection and the kids menu is good aswell.. would definitely recommend for a meal

We came in on Boxing Day for lunch and honestly couldn’t complain about any part of the meal, staff were friendly and we were served quickly. We had the sharing platter for starters which done me, the hubby and the kids had a few bits too, I had the chargrilled pepper chicken for my main and it was amazing and I would highly recommend the chunky chips, nicest I’ve ever had. I had a chocolate fudge sundae for dessert and again it was tasty.

Me and my friend have visited here a couple of times recently. The staff are very friendly and I always find the food great and very tasty. We will be back for lunch on Monday chicken goujons are great 😍

We booked for a 50th birthday meal and drinks with family and friends and the night really couldn't have went any better.

Last night I went to the WORST Christmas party I have ever been to...no group just a DJ from 7.30 pm...no chat other than 'This is a request for....', no banter of any kind, played the first Christmas song at 11.25...the advertised 4 course meal was actually 3 course...., no Diet Coke from the start of the evening so continually served Regular Coke ...changed each time for Coke Zero?!...vegetarian meal sent back....waste of an effort - time and money to get new dress, hair and make up done...a group was playing in the bar so snow was not the issue. Lots of people left early...4 people on the dance floor at 11.00....If u are booked, go somewhere else!

Had dinner on Halloween. They had fire works and had great decorations. The food was amazing. The staff was great.

Servicio pobre. Una larga espera para tomar una copa y luego el mismo para la comida. Numerosas mesas estar mal trajo la comida y postres y una pareja esperando más de una hora en una hamburguesa. No lo recomiendo y no volvería.

Fuimos allí el Devenish - con dos amigos que trabajan en el complejo magnífico chuletón sirve bistec. Por sumamente amable, servicial camarera irlandés no europeos del este. Mis amigos la hamburguesa y las alas, que era igual de bueno.

Brilliant bar for night out with friends. Decor of bar is lovely, good seating areas. Loads of drink promotions and lovely cocktails on offer. Live bands on weekends which are very good. Would recommend a visit.

I took the family to the Harley's Diner restaurant in The Devenish and the food was absolutely brilliant, as was the service.My little one dropped and smashed a place from her high chair and the waitress dealt with it brilliantly!Feeding a family of 4 with bottemless soft drinks for £25 for the quality of food we received was amazing!I couldn't finish mine... but in a good way!

Spent a very special evening at a family event in this place. I don't know where to begin.... food/drinks/toilets/staff. Very unprofessional and uncomfortable setting. Please do avoid, not a venue to spend special time with family and loved ones.

This is a large bar and quite busy. We attended a function here and found the attention to detail for drinks in the main downstairs bar excellent. In the function the attention to detail was lost, mainly due to the bar staff trying to serve a large volume of customers. Food was good and service was polite and efficient. Not a place to go for a quiet drink but deal with large numbers so it has its place and what they do they do well

Has a quick bite to eat with a friend on a busy Saturday afternoon because communions where being held, still we got quick and friendly service and the burger and chips and pint went down a treat, the place was so busy with entertainment and kids things, the face painting looked great in the restaurant

It was great to be able to spend the weekend in the sun at our favourite bar, great atmosphere, surroundings and top service. The cocktails also to die for.

Not enough staff to serve at the bar which was busy. More for young people who like to stand about as it was impossible to get a seat.

Went for dinner here with family. We are mixed marriage. Group was on and encouraged audience to participate in IRA chanting. Very disappointed. Won't be back. My wife who is from area was disgraced.

This place is fantastic, it looks the part, the music is awesome i could not fault that. For a bar of the beaten track and away from city centre, it really stands out as something unique and a hidden gem within a neighbourhood. Drinks are reasonably priced, cocktails are a bit step considering it the same you get in the sister bar, but yet pay practically double here, don't understand that. The place is always lively, creates an enjoyable environment. Why two stars after all the greatness i said, simple it only take one bad apple, and a cheeky little haired bar made, was the sour apple to our night, extremely rude, snappy, and just all round bad attitude, the 4/5 times she served us it was as though we were a problem, no welcoming attitude, like received of others. Extremely, unprofessional, and just ignorant.

Attended the wolfetones lastnight and while they were amazing (as always) the venue really didn't meet the needs of the punters. The night was in the great Hall, there were so many underage children there, most completely incapable of looking after themselves. Falling all over the place and pushing people to get past. The toilets were absolutely horrible, soaking wet floors and lots of smoking going on. I actually didn't see a female bouncer all night so I'd imagine that's why. The average age of the bar and floor staff was about 15 and while they were stretched they were inexperienced and generally the venue could not cope with the demand. It has really put me off ever going back for food or a night out.

Beautiful bar, with great entertainment. Had an absolute blast, with my friends here over Easter, i would highly recommend the bar bites, especially the platter, although it is a bit pricey for all you get on it, we had the platter for four, maybe ease up on the nachos a bit. The cocktails are ok, its hard to know how the should taste, considering every time we got a round of 4, they were coming out all different and tasting different, use to be better. Think training on consistency would help that though, guess people just need to remember its not a city centre bar or cocktail bar here, its just another bar on the road and cocktails are just a must have these days even if they are not the greatest, all fails, gin and tonic lol. The staff are 50% good and 50% don't want to be there and that is evident. Not to sound sexist but the male staff were all polite and dead on and couldn't to enough for you, chatting away and dancing. But then flip the coin, the female staff it's as though they would rather be on the other side of the bar a drink, ignoring customers, and just being flat out rude and cheeky at times, i kinda felt i was a burden when i was served by one. They prefer partying behind bar with each other than serving, but the fellas were able to do both. Must be two mates, the coloured hair girls, or sisters, but getting there attention or interrupting their partying, just looked like you woke a sleeping bear, tone it down a bit girls, smile, its a customer service industry lol. I loved this place though, it was my first time actually going, but i would recommend it, just be weary of the staff and cocktails.

Went there for my mother's day dinner, from start to finish we had a great time! Food was tasty and the cocktails in the bar were amazing the band on were fantastic. Great day for all of us

Went to the Devenish on st patricks day for lunch had booked a table through their online booking and mentioned there will be two adults and two children under 2 years of age. When we first arrived the man behind the counter looked at us and the kids and said the table reserved for us wont be convenient because we booked online (they shouldn't give the online booking option if it ends up being a problem) my friend had asked why and he said well you have two kids and there wont be room, my friend had asked well you can put us at a different table and our table can go to someone else he immediately said no and brought us to our table, which was completely fine. The waitress who served us was very helpful then at the end when we went to pay, we walked towards the same man (im told he was the manager) as we were told he would take our payment and I asked "can you take our payment?" before I even got to finish my sentence he shouted over me "whos next?" and walked away from the till, probably under pressure because of the busy day but a bit of manners wouldn't go a miss. A friend of mine was actually at a high table behind us with her baby in her high chair which wasn't very convenient as she was sitting above her daughter and when I told her I was leaving she should move to our table which would make it easier for her to feed her daughter and again the same man said no and sat two girls at the table instead of seating them at the high table as they didn't have any children with them. The treatment of people with children I think needs to be looked at. Must say the food was actually nice though.

Was at the devenish bar last night for my friends birthday, everyone had a great night! Great music & even better staff.the bar was extremely busy because of a boxing fight but we werent waiting to long on being served by the friendly staff. my girlfriend hit her head towards the end of the night, she was immediately helped up by the doorman with the beard and the manager fra was very kind and looked after her we are very thankful as it was so busy! Highly recommended place & thank them for their help :)

I was at a family wedding reception at the Devenish complex on Saturday , it was a great day from start to finish. Lovely room and decor for the meal, with fabulous food. The room for the evening reception was just as beautiful, on a grander scale, and the buffet food was amazing. Friendly and attentive staff throughout, with a special mention for Leanne, thank you and well done, to you and the team.

This bar is an absolute beacon of beauty for the community and the locals that go to it, one of the most impressive bars in west/south Belfast in terms of looks and the notoriety it gets for events. But it is let down by the staff that man the bar, a bunch of young kids with no respect for elders, customers or people in general, Between their vulgar language and lack of attention to customers it is completely disgusting to see. Attended on Saturday 4th March for the football with my 9 year old son, only for him to here language from the staff that should not be heard during the daytime hours when kids are in. The service was extremely slow, as bar maid and bar man spent more time fooling around and giving abuse than actually serving. If this bar had an older generation of bar staff it would be completely on point and terrific, but it fails with the young ignorant, inexperienced muppets it has behind it the pumps.

Went here twice in the past few weeks, once for drinks and once for food. The night we went for drinks we were upstairs and a few of us went downstairs for some cocktails whilst our friends remained upstairs. When we went to go back up to get our coats the bouncers told us that our friends had them all and we weren't allowed to go in. Turned out this was lies and I had to go back the next day to look for my coat, which wasn't there. Luckily my friends coat was, with the phone still in the pocket. There was no need for the bouncer to tell lies and be cheeky. However, apart from the cheeky bouncers, the bar staff and waitresses are very friendly and it is a nice bar to have a few drinks in (just make sure to keep your coat beside you). I wouldn't desvribe myself as a fussy eater but the food was just completely disgusting. Ordered garlic chips whoch jist tasted like butter and salt and my boyfriend ordered chips which were overcooked, dry and salty. The main meals were also disgusting. Would not recommend eating here at all.

The music they have whether it be on a Friday or Saturday night does not disappoint. the food on the other hand is something else entirely. absolutely terrible. went for Christmas dinner paid £33.00 - service was slow, food was cold and portions bad. sooo disappointed.

My family and I are regular customers at the devenish, as are my friends. We would like to consider it as one of our local bars in the area therefore last night we decided to head to your bar, stay local and celebrate New Years there. I was also celebrating my 20th birthday. When the first few of my friends arrived they were given access as were myself and my boyfriend. However within the space of 5 minutes another few of my friends also arrived and were denied access as it all of a sudden was a "age 23 and over event". My friends are all 20 years of age, we had one drink before leaving, it was only 8pmAnd by looking at the crowd inside there were plenty of under 23s if not under 18s. The bouncers reason for this was apparently there were "too many kids". First of all this was patronising as we are students at the legal age and far from kids not to mention the fact I could see what you could classify as "kids" in the bar already. They were rude and became aggressive. I then myself went out to the front hall to see what was going on, to be gripped by the shoulders, physically man handled by the bouncer telling me to get out. This was then followed by the bouncer snatching my drink I had paid for out of my hand and my boyfriends drink also. When doing this the drink actually was thrown round my boyfriend. The way my friends and I were treated was nothing short of a disgrace. It only got worse when I looked in the door to actually see the bouncer drinking the drink I had purchased from your bar whilst working. I can safely say I will not be stepping foot back in the devenish and I am appalled and the treatment I received from these bouncers.

Came for my 20th birthday and was physically threw out by a bouncer for no reason, after they claimed it was over 23s only 10 minutes after letting me in. Bouncers making up their own rules and then continued to drink the drinks I had bought in front of me. Won't ever be back after the harassment me and other female friends experienced.

Went here after food with the missus but was a bit worried after reading some of the review's. Stood at the bar for 10-15mins while the same girl walked past us numerous times, asking people to the left of me if they were getting served and ignoring myself and missus.Then from nowhere Brendan Rice swooped in to save the day, making up some nice cocktails with an A* performance and even giving us a little dance for entertainment.Later as the night went on I ordered 2 more from another server to be handed what looked like a drink my friend made in his kitchen - no ice, no garnish, completely different taste and with a straw twice the size of the glass, then asked for ice as the drink was too strong for the missus but was handed ice in a hot glass, by which half had already melted butter the time I got it. But luckily Mr Rice looked over his shoulder to see them handed in front of us & quickly jumped over to take them away & do them up the right way. I hold it down to new staff & slight teething problems, but all in all, Brendan Rice was the savour of the night. We were going to leave after that 2nd drink we got but Brendan turned that around. Many thanks to Brendan Rice, Ciara Hamilton & James Townsend. But I have to give the star of the show to Mr Rice as he made our night, was a pleasure working with him in the past and anyone working with him now should be privileged, learn from him and you'll go far.

Queued twenty minutes to get in,when I did get in I spent thirty minutes waiting to be served.The staff seemed to be more concerned with serving their friends and young females than regular customers. Was so disappointed with the service I went home.Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The Devenish is a huge pub with a fabulous American diner style restaurant. There is a great choice on the menu, the food is fabulous and the portions are huge. The restaurant opens out onto the pub and there was live music on in the pub while we were there and it was far too loud for my liking, in order to have conversation over dinner we had to shout. Overall though, it was a fabulous night.

My new go to bar for watching Sports whether its Football Rugby Boxing GAA, always great atmosphere and buzz

We used to eat and drink here constantly, the service was dead colloquial and a great example of irish hospitality.They even opened up an additional bar lately which is good.they do pub food and quick bites which is amazing for when theres a match on. service of the waitresses is dead good....bar staff need to pay little more attention to whats going on though, they are dead good though when they've their heads in the game

I live quite near the Devenish so I would be in it often. The new set up is much better & always has a great atmosphere. The live music is always good. Harleys is really nice for food & all the staff are very friendly & helpful

We went here on Halloween night for the family celebrations they put on. It was such a great night, my son loved it and the fireworks were fantastic. Well done for putting on such a good show for West Belfast. Happy returning customers here!

Had lovely dinner this restaurant. The steak was so delicious and well cooked. Best steak ever had!!

Had a meal in Harley's. Service was great, cocktails were yummy and food was lovely. Looking forward to another visit. Stayed afterwards in the bar, there was a band starting that sounded good. Bar was full as the football had been on so there were no seats. There was also a wedding on in another room that look fantastic.

We have eaten here a couple of times and its ok especially as we are all vegetarian in our family.The menu is good with very child friendly selections. The salads are great and the portions are big enough. Staff are friendly and super efficient. However my issue is with the main bar. We went with extended family to watch the All Ireland Hurling final last year . We had telephoned in advance to reserve some seats near a tv screen as 2 of our party were over 70 and had travelled from Newry for the event. The 'manager' on the phone took our details and told us this wouldnt be a problem. On the day of the game when we went to the bar there were no seats for us and management had no idea what we were talking about. We had to leave as our elderly in laws couldnt stand for the 2 hours of the game. We gave this place another try on St Patricks Day in March. We had brought some Protestant friends with us to celebrate the event but we had to put up with one of the glass collectors shouting Tiocfidh Ar La all afternoon as he went about his work. This wasnt really an atmosphere that I would invite anyone into ever again

Nice bar to enjoy a Saturday night. Solo singer on at the beginning of the evening which was very good. Band on afterwards which really got the crowd going and great entertainers. No drink promotions on in the establishment due to the size and the crowd. Bit of a let down. Have to be honest but if your on a budget with friends to go out for a drink this place is not for you. Drinks very expensive. Cocktails are seriously expensive so be warned. Mixed crowd and door staff always in site inside and outside. Door staff very pleasant and helpful. The owners really need to have another look at the prices of the cocktails and give something back to the customer. Other than that comfortable place to enjoy your evening.

We were out on a wee family day and had called at the Wolf and Whistle as we had been there before it had been taken over the new decor was lovely & big improvement tho the kitchen seemed to be going through a few minor teething problems food at other tables looked gorge but there wud be a delay on our order we ordered drinks and maybe head to the Temple or somewhere close the floor manager explained he was manager of Devenish and another member of their staff (lovely girl blonde haired with glasses) offered to book us a table in the Devenish with free deserts it was encouraging to see everybody pull together to help make a new venture work we were nt sure but glad we took the chance best fresh home cooked Diner food we ve ever had staff were so lovely couldnt do enough for us tho will defo be back and will defo try the wolf and whistle next time we re passing nut will be telling family and friends about the Devenish

I held a surprise 21st Birthday party for my boyfriend here on the 30th of June. I booked the bridge room. It was an amazing night and a perfect location to hold a birthday party.I hired a photobooth and there was plenty of space. The devenish staff were extremely accommodating with this.The buffet served was just enough food.We had planned to prep the room for 1 however it was being used which meant we had to come hack later which was hassel however the staff again accommodated us by finding space to keep the equipment so we did not have to hiring it all back down they even suggested setting the room up for us!Many thanks for the amazing night I thoroughly enjoyed myself and so did each and every one of the guests if I could give more stars I could!l

Attended a wedding in the Grand Ballroom earlier this month and I just want to sayCan I just say please do something about the state of the toilets because on the day/night in question the top toilets only had 2 cubicles actually in use, the others were out of order. Absolutely disgusting. Had to go to actually go to the bar to ask for loo roll and the other toilets werent much better. Seriously, when you have a large function on and you know you've that many broken toilets would it not be wise to phone a plumber and get it sorted before hand.

I have been to the Devenish quite a few times and its always had a nice atmosphere the only time it gets too busy is when theres a boxing match on next door then its a nightmare trying to get a drink other than that its a great place with great bands

Visited again after a few months. The food is exactly what you would expect from an American diner and the portions are generous. Staff friendly and efficient. Only two issues, the live singer or 'shouter' (Friday night) was too loud (we were glad when he stopped) as was the background music. That has been my experience each and every time I have visited. I challenge the management to sit below any of the speakers and try and have a conversation. C'mon boys - sort it out

whilst the new bar is great and lively with loads of bar staff - I don't understand how the manager walks about totally oblivious to the bar staff, I witnessed two young bar girls making one cocktail while ordinary punters wait to be served pints etcI know the cocktails are popular and keep the younger crown happy but the not to the expense of the regulars , the manager walks past back and forth and never seems to notice , when I did question the girls they were not very happy and quite aggressive
