The Derby Arms, Woolton in Liverpool

We went to the Derby Arms for a lovely tea and were served by Chloe and Pat, who Needless to say were very hospitable. The Chef (Brad) served us a delicious burger and steak which was delicious. We were regulars before Covid but rest assured we will be regulars once more. Top notch and would happily Recommend to Anyone.Friendly StaffFull Of SmilesFriendly Environment

Visitamos este establecimiento ayer para almorzar. Habíamos reservado una mesa para las 12 pm y las puertas se abrieron justo después y fue entonces cuando comenzaron los problemas. En primer lugar, el miembro del personal no nos preguntó si teníamos una reserva. Luego nos entregaron un menú muy reducido y nos informaron que no estaban participando en el programa de comida fuera de casa, que en realidad no nos concierne. Luego procedimos a pedir algunas bebidas que incluían 2 pintas de Pepsi y un vaso de grosella negra. Cuando probamos la grosella negra estaba muy suave y luego vino la Pepsi. Cuando probamos esto, claramente era Pepsi max, aunque al miembro del personal se le preguntó por Pepsi. Luego le dijimos que se trataba de Pepsi max, no de Pepsi, y nos ofreció una alternativa, pero todavía nos cobraron por las bebidas originales y el reemplazo. La experiencia gastronómica y las opciones disponibles fueron completamente diferentes de lo que se esperaba. Necesitan dar a conocer esto para dar una visión realista de qué esperar.

A great little pub with a wide selection of drinks and food. They also have all the sports on. Perfect for a drink on the edge of Woolton village.

great for a drink with friends and family. nice pub and nice crowd. not like some other places in the village.

We were walking around Woolton and to the Allerton cemetery . On our way back we stopped for lunch and drinks. we just had sandwiches and a beer an wine. The service was excellent .

Had a lovely Sunday lunch yesterday highly recomend it here. Food stunning and atmosphere fantastic. Will return when posdible

Fuimos y tuvimos una excelente comida, el personal del bar increíble comida muy por encima de la media. Pero la caída fue el lado de la promoción de las cosas! Preguntó por ciertos elementos del menú para escuchar que no está incluido. Pero de acuerdo con la impresión en blanco y negro en los elementos del menú donde se incluyeAl llegar a un acuerdo de comida, faltaban artículos, al solicitar dichos artículos al camarero que respondía con una actitud muy agresiva que no estaba incluida, ya que el hambre lo dejó como estaba. Luego, haciendo una broma con mi amigo y señalando al personal del bar la descripción de dichos elementos en el menú, el camarero se acercó bruscamente a mí y me dijo agresivamente: "Te digo lo que hay en el menú, no me dices" Me quedé asombrado y muy conmocionado. . El menú es el menú que no creas a medida que avanzas.

Mi esposo y yo vamos cada dos domingos. La cena asada es increíble, especialmente las papas asadas, que siempre están crujientes por fuera y mullidas por dentro, así como todo el personal es encantador, siempre te hacen sentir bienvenido. Un encantador pub tradicional.

Benn a este pub varias veces durante el año pasado. No soy local, vivo en Dorset. Es el pub local tradicional, con una decoración agradable y una sonrisa amigable tan pronto como entras. Televisor, s para el footie o una zona tranquila en la parte de atrás. Lo siento, nunca he dejado de comer pero la comida se ve bien.

Having visited Speke Hall we got soaked on a walk, enjoyed the delights of the Hall we called in to have the light lunch seen online. 6 seniors & 1 dog were given a warm welcome, served hot food on warm plates a plentiful amount for a light lunch. Without exception the meals were delicious. Followed by a variety Sponge puddings we’ve not had for a while.The pub had been done up spectacularly for Halloween a massive effort from staff and management. We congratulate you all. Highly recommend if we lived closer we would be in regularly. Thanks

A lovely friendly pub, but food was a key let down.

Came here for lunch on a friday at lunch time i had piggin chicken which consisted of gammon steak chicken breast and chips food was average wouldnt come again for food but it's been taken over by a chain they have spent cash doing it up interior is really nice

Have been to this is pub on many times before but since the refurb its even better than before and food is amazing . Staff have excellent customer service skills nothing is to much trouble to ask for .Went in midday lots of choice at reasonable prices my wife had half chicken roast which was cooked perfectly i had the chicken and gammon with chips which was the best i have ever had perfect . The dessert was great price 2 for under fiver no complaints from me ! . Well worth the visit for value great surrounding and very pleasant to dine and and drink in a must visit for famiies and couples .

Have been going to this pub for nigh on six years but since the refurb haven't been until yesterday. We went for lunch, made most we were made most welcome by staff. They have done a really good job on the decor especially the ladies loo which was tatty to say the least before. The food was delicious, my husband had mixed grill which was very substantial for the mere cost of five pounds. I had steak and stout pie with chips and peas, I have to say it was the nicest pie I have ever had. Would highly recommend will definitely be eating there again. Children are welcome it is also dog friendly. There is quiz night on Monday as well as all meals from the menu costing just five pounds, last orders for food is 7.30 pm. Open mike night on Wednesdays and live entertainment on Fridays.

Visited on a Monday to see how the refurb had gone. Looks great without losing the local pub feel. Could not believe you could have anything on menu for £5.00 including mixed grill steaks - everything. Wine was cheap food also and really good - wished we didn’t live 200 miles away but will definitely pop in when visiting family in Woolton. Great friendly service

Whilst on a weekend visit to Liverpool we happened to be staying about 100 yards from this pub .great atmosphere great staff and excellent menu choice , the food was served very quickly and was piping hot and was delicious. Well worth another visit by us .

I popped into the Derby Arms knowing that they now open early and serve breakfast and enjoyed their excellent Full English “belly buster” with bottomless coffee for only £6.50. The residents of Woolton should support their local and avoid the inferior alternative of the nearby Tesco cafe.

Good pub food, friendly atmosphere and good service . Service was excellent and didn’t have to wait too long. Definitely go again.

Had heard good things about the food here so decided to try the Sunday dinner today. We were not disappointed. Lovely hot, good sized plate of Sunday roast, served by very cheerful, friendly staff. The whole place has a good, local vibe about it and is nicely furnished without being pretentious. Added bonus is that it’s dog friendly and there aren’t many pubs that offer good food whilst welcoming dogs. Well done Derby Arms, we will definitely be back!

Nice fish and chip lunch, made welcome with our grand daughter in buggy, very good value, all washed down with nice glass of London Pride, pleasant service. Newly refurbished.

Excellent food and drinks at the end of Menlove Avenue, Woolton. Well worth a refreshment stop from Beatles fans who are visiting the area of John Lennon's home, Mendips.

My friend and I popped in late afternoon for a few pints and fish and chips.

Never again....worst food and service ever.....nobody else eating but waited forever for very,very poor food!!!! Only to be topped by even worse service!!!!!! Only thing i will say is, how impressed i was by how wrong you could get it!!!!

Excellent value for money at £6.95. There was a choice of chicken, pork, beef and lamb. We chose lamb and pork- bith were gorgeous. Really did enjoy every mouthful. Didn't wait too long and it was served with a smile. Will be back.

Great pub good atmosphere, lovely decor, food lovely and staff. Great live music. Quiz night , open mic night, dog friendly in the bar, couldn't ask for more.

The previous licensees had given up on the pub and it'd had been in desperate need of a face lift to breathe new life into the place for years . Since the new licensees have been in charge It's like a completely different pub. I'd go so far as to say, it's now the best pub in Woolton Village. A wonderful interior refurb, four well kept real ales, instead of non, a basic, but reasonably priced pub grub menu. ( pub grub nothing more ). Live music on Wednesday and Friday's ( Friday very busy ), quiz night on a Monday and 50p off a pint of real ale on Tuedays. Plus dogs are now welcome in the bar too. Fantastic pub and I hope the new licensees keepup it going.
