Went yesterday with friends on a business trip. 7 of us. Found a table and a helpful waitress got more chairs to accommodate us. Could have done with another table but it was busy so we said we would manage. Friend went in to enquire what soup it was. Person, rude unfriendly. Felt like didn’t want to serve us so we all left.

We managed to get a table. So busy had to settle for other venus in the Halifax piece Hall that weren't a patch on the deli. The staff are friendly, The coffee good. We had a pleasent lunch. Have almost worked through most of the menu visited so many times. We would recommend the high standards of food. Aren't eating cakes at the moment but they are delicious. I enjoy all the food on my visits as does. my partner. Nothing is to much trouble for the staff. They will alternate food on the menu eg do wholemeal as an alternative to what it says on the menu. The salad side is always fresh and they serve a variety of drinks hot or cold. The atmosphere is quite relaxing, even when there are lots of people passing by. Service is quite good they work very hard deliver high standards. Would highly recommend. I have recently visited a couple of places in the Westgate arcade because I was unable to get a table on my last couple of visits here. And I have to say. No where else matched the standards of the Halifax piece Hall Deli. Highly recommend. Looking forward to our next visit.

I visited with my husband yesterday (20 March). I'm dairy intolerant and the ladies helped me with suggestions as to what I can eat. I ordered a sandwich and there was some confusion over what I'd ordered. I sent the sandwich back as it wasn't right. Unfortunately it still wasn't right when it came back out again. My sandwich was made again, and it was fine. I got an apology (and a beautiful cake as an apology too). It was just a simple mistake, easily done, very enjoyable in the end. Thank you for sorting. The Tuna Lady 😃.

Unfortunately they are so disorganised they lost our order - despite one of us being visibly pregnant, we waited 40 minutes and no food came. We were absolutely starving by the end of it. They refused to refund us claiming they're a charity. Unbelievably poor service. I had to ask several times to get their attention as the girls behind the counter were just ignoring customers. There seems to be a lot of bad reviews about their customer service, I can see why - they made no effort to apologise or put anything right, they were far more interested in playing the blame game with each other as to who lost the order. They eventually reluctantly gave me a small refund that didn't cover the cost of the food they didn't serve - which hasn't even appeared back on my card anyway. They may be a charity but that doesn't excuse dehumanising treatment, not giving people what they paid for and being *really* un-caring about a legitimate complaint. I'm suprised the Piece hall allows a business like this to run. We left, very frustrated and were served brilliant food very quickly at a cafe around the corner.

In this place on two occasions now our food has come way before the coffees or drinks at least ten minutes. This is poor hospitality etiquette. Food ends up being cold before you have anything to drink with your food. Communication could be better between the food and drinks service delivery to prevent this.

I don't live local, Wales, but took a detour on my way home from Harrogate to Halifax. Part of the reason being because I've visited this place 3 time in two years and the reason is the food, the soup in particular. I've tried 3 different soups now and I am amazed at the quality of soups this little place produces. Seriously top quality soup, and sandwiches to be fair, but the soup is better than some so called top restaurants I've had soup at. Had this been available to buy off the shelf I would certainly have stocked up. The taste is superb and balanced perfectly in flavour and texture.. This is every time I've visited and every soup tried. Definitely worth a visit and reasonably priced.

Been here a few times, food is delicious and good quality The chicken and chorizo melt is outstanding! Beautiful soft baguette and plenty of food on the plate as it’s served with crisps and a side salad. Had never eaten here before but thanks to a bit of prior research on TA we enjoyed a very good lunch here today ( Sun 23rd July .) It was very rainy but the Deli had large & efficient sun umbrellas outside so we stayed totally dry. You order at the counter inside then they bring your food to you. I had the tuna & cheese melt on a lovely crusty but light baguette, served with crisps & a salad garnish, my husband also really enjoyed his ham & cheese melt. Our son enjoyed his chicken & chorizo salad too. We felt the food was good quality & value for the Piece Hall & we would definitely recommend the Deli as a good place for lunch here.

Food is really good and service is usually quite fast. Hot chocolates are 10/10, and the melts are unreal. They offer gluten free bread, so melts can be done if cross contamination isn’t an issue. Only issue I have is they tell you things have gluten in when they don’t? Like mayo and pesto, so I ask to check ingredients and they don’t have gluten in. So I think they need to be a bit more clued up on what gluten is as it is quite unnerving and worrying really, also quite frustrating every time!

I wish now I had gone somewhere else but it looked nice and I fancied Wensleydale and beetroot rolls. So I agreed to have white bread. When it arrived it looked good so I t tucked in. Only to find under the salad a brown slimey mess - clearly lettuce leaves that had gone off. I mentioned it to a waiter who said sorry, we just tip the leaves on the plate from a bag. Don't they know lettuce in a bag goes off quickly and surely they should watch what comes out? It was horrid.

Such a great atmosphere and a wonderful location as well. The Deli has is all, you can come here for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. What a great coffee house, with a great selection of things to buy.

Unfortunately not up the level of a branded coffee store - burnt coffee, stale food and too much gossip/chatter behind the bar for my liking - it's a shame the piece hall doesn't have a Costa instead. Would recommend taking the short trip down to the brilliant Costa nearby instead.

This place has a lovely menu and cake selection, I had a tea and piece of orange cake mid morning which was yummy. The staff are very polite and helpful at all times, I opted to sit indoors, but there are tables outside if you wish to enjoy the sunshine, well worth visiting.

Had a coffee and cake here, coffee was really good and the cake selection made it difficult to decide! Scone, rocky road and flapjack were all very good. This is such a nice spot with outside seating we came back for lunch. Goats cheese and avocado roll and humus and red pepper roll were tasty, the ploughman’s, quiche with salad and jacket potatoes also looked good. Staff were helpful and friendly.

A great selection and spoilt for choice with a wide variety of tasty snacks. I opted for an orange chocolate fat rascal which was one of the best things I’ve every tasted. Bettys do a version but not half as good as this one. Accompanying coffee very good too, and made just the way I requested. Staff friendly, helpful and informative.

Lovely lunch and the coffee was made to perfection. The staff were so helpful, particularly with my two young children. Will definitely be back.

A small, cosy deli/eatery in The Piece Hall ( the only one at the time of this review). Reasonable fare with unusual twists ( a toastie of feta, olives and sunblush tomatoes on a bulky roll). Short on space but delightfully cheerful, helpful staff - it may come under pressure to cope as the Hall develops as it has no competition as at Dec 2017.

We stopped for a coffee at the end of a walk recently. Very welcoming, with a good reasonably priced menu. Outdoor seating available

I may have just written the review for the restaurant by mistake. It was the pub I attended at 8:31 last night Tuesday there are only a few people in the pub about four. I arrived just before 830. Look at the menu and then go to the bar and I’m told by the Bar staff sorry Food finishes at 8:30 it was 831. I said I arrived at 8:25 and really sorry Food finished. This is why pubs and independence closed down. The staff should be ashamed of the way they look after peoples businesses.

We attended the wine tasting evening, what a great night. We weren't sure what to expect but got to say there was plenty of tasting , no short measures. Lovely guy hosting and very chatty. Atmosphere was great and the sharing plate was very appreciated however we expected a little more food. Anyway didn't spoil the evening and the landlady was on the table next to us unbeknown 🤪 Thanks for the Rose! we loved it that much we had 2 more bottles 💕

Called here on a sunny Sunday afternoon after checking into our accommodation close by. Great beer, great decor and fantastic staff. We sat in the sunshine and had a lovely chat with Laura, who we will definitely meet up with soon. We didn’t want to leave this lovely place but unfortunately we had other plans for the evening.
