The Dandy Highwayman Coffee Shop in Wiltshire

After visiting this cafe on numerous occasions (following our dog walks at Beckhampton) and receiving excellent service & food, I am extremely disappointed to say that today wasn't one of them. We ordered x2 toasted sandwiches & x2 pots of tea. Our tea came out within a few minutes of ordering. Our toasties came out approximately 35 - 40 minutes later, and by this time we'd drunk our tea! I'd asked the young lady serving if we could have a refund for the toasties as we'd been waiting an age for them. In addition 2 gentleman bikers had been served their meals. the same 2 bikers who'd arrived and ordered their food some 20 or so minutes after us. Literally 10 seconds after asking for a refund, our toasties magically appeared! Brought to out table by the owner nonetheless. The MOST DISAPPOINTING thing about the whole episode is that we did not even receive an apology for the length of time we'd had to wait. In fact, not a word was said as the toasties were placed on the table in front of us. I'd consider us as pretty regular customers of this establishment, and ones who were looking forward to the new diner opening next Summer. However, today's debacle has somewhat jeopardised whether we'll even bother visiting the cafe again. If the owner thinks this is good customer service, I suggests he finds an alternative business.

Doesn’t look great from outside but don’t be put off. Good food, nice coffee and lovely cakes rounded off with friendly staff. We should have stopped here earlier! A great place to stop before or after climbing Cherill

Served by a lovely lady although she was just closing. We had amazing coffee and our cakes were to die for. Well worth putting this place on your Coffee morning Map!

Good food here , especially the rainbow wrap . Very well situated on a main road in the country. Good outside space too. However I’ve been a few times and often feel disappointed. Staff do not seem to prioritise customers, little eye contact and can seem rushed, even not when not busy. Suggest some staff training - I don’t think this need be expensive. I wish them well in these difficult times

Friendly staff, good selection of food, both gluten free and vegetarian, nicely cooked. Well worth the visit.

Stopped in after a dog walk just for a hot drink, but was tempted by the festive sandwiches. Hot chocolate and baguette were amazing lovely friendly staff. Will be stopping by again and definitely trying pizza night :)

Absolutely yummy pizza! THE best vegan pizza I've had since becoming vegan in January. A lovely crispy base , delicious tomato sauce, veggies and just the right amount of vegan cheese. The rest of the group enjoyed their pizzas too. Pecan pie for pudding topped off the evening. Lovely atmosphere and the waiter was great! Well done everyone, looking forward to coming back.

Stopped for some hot drinks and cakes after a morning of sport. Cakes were all homemade. The Eccles cakes, cinnamon buns and Belgian buns were delicious. Coffee was also great. Haven’t visited since the change into a coffee shop but will definitely be visiting again.

What a really well presented cafe. A very warm welcome by the member of staff. We only wanted coffee and that was good. The cafe was bright and clean and fresh. Well fitted out. Outside there was a selection of seating and some entertain murals. Plenty of parking. Thursday night is pizza night, eat in or take away and all hand made. Will definitely stop here again

Set on the A4 in Cherhill, The Dandy Highwayman is easy to get to and sits right next to a bridleway/ footpath out to the stunning Wiltshire Downs and one of the county’s famous white horses. Indoor and outdoor seating; outdoors there are tables under cover as well as fully open air. Fabulous coffee and cakes. The friendly team make you warmly welcome and take the greatest care with allergies. With plenty of parking this is perfect for bikers, cyclists, riders, walkers, locals, and passers by.

Very friendly staff and fresh snacks, sandwiches made for you while you wait, good selection of cakes. Easy parking, plenty of outside seating. Dog friendly, happy to have dogs inside. .

I have visited this little gem of a café a few times now. So far I’ve only had coffee and cake, both of which were excellent. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. We sat under the shade on the terrace because we had dogs with us. The people near us had pizza which looked delicious. They asked for a box and took some home with them.

Such a lovely little gem.After a rather unpleasant experience in Marlborough with a well known tea room, we stopped off here and we received a warm welcome lovely food and scrummy cakes. Such lovely staff who are so friendly and attentive. Thanks guys we will return soon :)

Met up with a friend for a short run and then had a lovely catch up over tea, coffee, a bacon roll and also some vegan cake 👍. Despite it being their first real day open, the service was friendly and slick 😊. Great place to refuel after a walk or run, or just driving by. See you again soon

The Dandy Highwayman is on the main A4 road in Cherhill Wiltshire and is a great place for a pitstop on the way through. They sell a lovely variety of cakes and drinks, they also do sandwiches and really nice pizza. The owners are lovely and the staff very friendly. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a clean toilet which I always look for! Fully recommend you stop there if you can!
