The Cyclist in Wandsworth

El desayuno es bueno! Llevan poco tiempo haciéndolo los fines de semana y realmente se ha establecido como una opción decente en Balham (y evita las colas de los dweebs de Time Out en el camino). Un par de cosas son desafortunadas: 1 . Los huevos revueltos están prohibidos -aparentemente imposibles de intercambiar de los escalfados- o han contratado chefs que no saben cómo revuelto un huevo o valoran ese pequeño margen de % frente a algo que es bastante normal en el desayuno. En cualquier caso, un poco raro; y 2 . El hombre más grande y calvo que trabaja a menudo durante el servicio de desayuno es bastante desagradable. En el lado del servicio no puede recordar órdenes, es abrupto, su elección de tono e idioma es curso y no se adapta al pub. En un lado más general, creo que las uñas sucias se quitan, cuando estás en un pub que sirve comida. El pub es genial, vale la pena visitarlo, y los problemas anteriores no son enders mundiales, solo una señal de manos fuera de la administración.

The confit duck was amazing. The best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked with a crisp skin and melt-in-the-mouth texture. Expertly seasoned, served with a delicious cassoulet and a refreshing salad to balance out the duck.

We had an absolutely amazing meal at this pub! The roast was cooked to perfection, with a generous serving of meat, vegetables, and the most delicious roast potatoes—my personal favorite. We also indulged in a side of cauliflower cheese! For starters, we had the Korean fried chicken, goat cheese beetroot salad, and halloumi fries, and they did not disappoint. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully prepared. What truly made our experience outstanding, however, was the exceptional service provided by Ava. She was incredible—kind, attentive, and full of great recommendations. Ava checked in on us regularly to ensure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we needed. Her friendly demeanor and bit of banter added such a fun and welcoming touch to our visit. Highly recommend this pub for an amazing roast—and if you can, ask for Ava! She’s top-tier!

As a coeliac who’s also dairy free, it can be difficult to find places to eat, let alone a Sunday Roast with all the trimmings bar the yorkie… The Cyclist in Balham did not disappoint! I went for the pork belly roast and it was melt in the mouth delicious with a nice-sized crisp crackling. The veg were delicious and a nice variety of the classics. But for me, the standout was the gravy! They bring it out in a decent-sized jug and this is the first time in about a year that I haven't had to ask for more! By the end I was using my crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside roast potatoes to mop up lashing of the gravy! 😊 😋 A Little shoutout to my server, Ava. Super friendly and very welcoming. Plus super knowledgable about the menu items. Her attention to my food issues was brilliant and being a coeliac herself, she understood the difficulties we face. Thank you Ava! Next time I'm in South London I’ll be sure to go back to try the beef! 😊

Good pub but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Christmas dinner was akin to a school dinner and the sticky toffee pudding was crispy as it had been dried out so much. Staff and atmosphere good

Un gran lugar en Balham para una noche de fiesta! Un cambio refrescante de los pubs más “pubby” de Balham, con una gran carta de vinos y cócteles. También tuvimos algunos platos pequeños que estaban deliciosos! Sin duda vale la pena la visita!

Dropped into The Cyclist in Balham this afternoon, and I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere radiates warmth and friendliness, with every aspect of the experience centered on genuine, welcoming service. Siobhan, in particular, stood out for her exceptional hospitality and attention to detail. This is definitely a place we’ll be returning to, and I can’t wait to bring more family and friends along. It’s officially our new go-to spot whenever we’re in London!

We stopped in for a sticky toffee which was perfect with a generous amount of toffee sauce and ice cream! Mulled wine was perfect as well and not too sweet. We were served by Siobhan who was absolutely delightful and so friendly. We’ll definitely be back :)

We had a Sunday lunch with my wife, son & aunt & uncle. The roast was FABULOUS! The service by Bella was great. We had the crumble & brownie for desert, and they too were great. We will be back! The cauliflower cheese was as good as Bella said it would be!

Ordered 3 roast beef sunday lunches. Service quick friendly & attentive. Roasts arrived luke warm. Went back. Plates served again. Plates hot this time. Food luke warm still. Staff attentive but we had lost faith in eating a hot lunch. Sad, it seemed so promising.

Great pub, decent selection of beers, good cocktails and good food (recommend the Korean fried chicken) Occasionally head here to meet friends after work. Close to the tube/rail (Northern line) and right on the main shopping street so if you want a beer before picking up your weekly groceries take your fine self to The Cyclist

Brock was the best! Even though we walked into a middle of a pub quiz, he made us feel so comfortable, gave 5 star service and honestly held the best vibe of the whole room!!!

Unsure why I didn't come here sooner. It's a lovely spot. I shall be back.
