The Curious Fox in Craigavon

We had never eaten here before albeit 10 minutes from our house so decided to give it a try. Staff were very friendly and chatty, the restaurant was quiet so was missing the usual restaurant atmosphere. I had an amazing cocktail and husband had a pint but he said at the time it wasn’t a great pint. My husband had the burger which looked amazing he said it was nice although very greasy. I ordered the battered haddock, it was very small, anyone with a larger appetite no doubt would have sent it back I would have too only I was so hungry. We probably wouldn’t rush back although I’ve heard the Sunday carvery’s are supposed to be amazing so we would definitely still give that a try sometime in the future.

Our work staff team (6) had our Christmas dinner here at lunchtime today. The service, food and ambiance were first class. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the food and portions were superb. Thank you very much Josh and team.

Came with family for Santa Sunday today and had a lovely afternoon! Very relaxed enjoyable atmosphere, excellent food, and the children of course loved the bouncy castle & soft play! Pricing seemed reasonable given the average cost of eating out in addition to the Santa/reindeer/soft play/bouncy castle. Staff helpful and friendly!

We visited on the Santa Sunday, whilst the food was nice we were shocked at the value for money. Firstly it was advertised as having reindeer, petting friends and bouncy castle. There weren’t any other animals apart from the reindeer so the reindeer visit was short and sweet. We had two slightly older children who were worried about hurting the babies on the bouncy castle so they didn’t get to go on that either. The youngest child’s 2 course meal was £12.50 while the older one was £25. £25 for a child’s meal the same size as the younger child and a scoop of ice cream. Of course this price included a Santa gift but a small puzzle for the younger child and a selection box that has an rrp of £2.49 wasn’t really worth the extra cost. Adults were £42.50 for a 3 course meal. After google searches this seems to be amongst the highest price for a Santa Sunday in NI. We’ll unfortunately be looking elsewhere next year.

Loved it food was absolutely amazing

Went for dinner last Sunday with my husband, daughter and 2 year old grand daughter. Had a lovely roast dinner with all the trimmings, all our fussy 2 year old requests catered for, even though the restaurant was very busy. Thanks to the lovely Heather who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We will be back!

ABSOLUTELY ENJOYED..FOOD FAB...SERVICE...BRILLIANT..LOCATION...LOVED...

It has been a number of years since I was last at Edenmore Golf club and I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. I wanted somewhere nice to treat my Aunt for giving me a place to stay on my weekend over from England. This really ticked all the boxes I would have wished for an evening such as this. The staff were very welcoming on arrival, very polite and attentive without being overbearing at all. The decor (which looked recently done up) was very smart, but also warm and comfortable. For the meal I had the scallops to start. The scallops were perfectly well cooked, and whilst I was not a fan of the garnish selection (the only minor negative on this review) it was more than passable. For main I ate an exquisite piece of very well cooked lamb before finishing up with a glorious sticky toffee pudding. My Aunt had the most fabulous juicy fat piece of cod for her main followed by the creme brulee. We both left after treating ourselves to a cocktail each (they had a great selection of grown up non alcoholic cocktails which I very much appreciated as the driver for the evening) feeling pleasantly full. For great food, superb service in a more than comfortable environment I could not recommend this restaurant more. I am slightly baffled how this place is not busier than it was when we visited. Maybe word has not got out yet how good it actually is...

Strangely I haved lived reasonably close to this restaurant for a long time but hadn't visited. That was a mistake. It is excellent. The food and service are second to none. My partner has a peculiar allergy ( onions ) . The chef went above and beyond to accommodate her which was very much appreciated. Highly recommended. We will be regulars from now on.

Great place for a meal. We had the chicken, with asparagus and mushrooms and mash and mushroom sauce. Best meal i have got in quite a while.this was our first time here.Found staff friendly and helpful.Definetly be back

Very pleasant dinner with some friends while staying the night at Edenmore. I had the duck salad starter and the lamb done two ways main, both excellent. Table had a few cocktails as well - all good. Staff all very friendly and attentive.

This was the third time we had gone for Sunday lunch. The food on both of the two times before was flawless. The carvery was previously presented on a sharing platter which worked better. This time it was more your usual carvery. The food was still really good but not quite as good as before. Still well worth a visit if you like a carvery lunch. The only real issue is some price gouging. On one of the previous visits we were overcharged by £30 (they charged adult prices for two kids). We put that down as a mistake. On this occasion we were again overcharged, but only by £4 so we didn’t say anything (they charged 1 person for 3 courses when they only had 2). However, the main issue was the prices of things that we legitimately paid for. A jug of dilute was £4. Kids ice creams were £5. (On top of £15 for a kids carvery) Drinks generally were very expensive. There is no reason to be charging those kind of extra prices on top of what is already a very expensive meal. Unfortunately silly things like that make a difference when deciding whether to go back or not. I’d recommended it to everyone before, but can’t really say it’s as good now or worth the expense.

One word.... SUPERB. Arrived to be greeted and shown to our table. Staff were great. Food was both well presented and tasty. Lovely surroundings. Really enjoyed ourselves.

I booked a table here to take my mum and step dad visiting from England. This was the best roast I have had in Northern Ireland! The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We had soup and wings for starters and then 4 of us had the carvery. Our plates were piled high, the stuffing was amazing, the gravy had so much flavour, the meat was tender. The desserts were very tasty. Will defo be back!

A decent place, the staff were super polite and helpful. The food was tasty, just don't go if you're starving, there was plenty of grub but you certainly wouldn't be rolling out. The toilets were also clean. Not bad views of the golf course, if you're into that kinda thing.

One of the nicest places for dinner in Northern Ireland, the food is beautiful, very filling and the service is next to none, top class! Great atmosphere and stunning views of the golf course that surrounds it. Highly recommended! 5 Stars!

First time visiting Staff looked after me very well I shall return again

Room was absolutely freezing on Boxing Day carvery. Food was great but the heating must've not been working. Unfortunately this ruined our time together. 4 of our party got the chills after it.

This place is nice. Steak expensive for what I got however, all other food here was excellent, well presented lovely and good quality fare. Small lack of staff but people that did tend to me were great.

The setting is amazing and the stairway up to the restaurant is straight out of a famous film! The place was buzzing with a private event in one of the function rooms. We had a meal for 3 on a Friday evening, the restaurant has welcoming vibes, with atmospheric candles in jaw box gin bottles on the tables, cool background music overlooking Moira and the surrounding countryside. The food was delicious, plentiful and with sides included makes it good value for the surroundings. Steak, turkey and ham and haddock dishes were enjoyed by all. Cocktails added into the mix made it a great night out. Would recommend.

Wow! What a place! We had a fantastic meal on Friday night in The Curious Fox. Our waitress was so attentive and service was excellent. The food was delicious. Starters: Arancini. Duck pancakes. Mains: fillet steak for us both - £30 served with all the trimmings, side and sauce. Desserts: apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. X2 wine, beer and an Americana. We could not fault this place in anyway. Can’t wait to bring friends and family here! Also a bonus - membership plus card was accepted :) 10% off.

A superb restaurant within Edenmore Golf Club. Excellent menu with a wide choice catering for all tastes. Definitely worth a visit.

I have had the pleasure of eating in Edenmore a number of times this week. The staff are very pleasant and nothing is a bother to them. The setting is stunning with views over the wonderful onsite golf course. The Full Breakfast is as good as you will find anywhere with excellent pork and leek sausage, tasty bacon and plenty of fried bread and sides. Very tasty. I also had an open prawn sandwich one evening. It was amazing. No skimping on the prawns, plenty of mixed salad items, cheese and wheaten bread. Thanks to Shane the manager for his kindness. Highly recommend.

Lovely family party for my husband's 80 th Birthday. Staff were great, very helpful and pleasant. Food was delicious.

We just enjoyed the Mother’s Day lunch in The Curious Fox at Edenmore and had the shared platter roast dinner. It was cooked to perfection, and the best Sunday roast I’ve had in years! Everything from the chicken and roast beef, the roasted carrots & parsnips, roast potatoes & broccoli that came on one platter to the cocktail sausages, brussel sprouts with bacon and stuffing that each came in separate bowls! We loved that we could choose how much we wanted from each platter at our leisure and we couldn’t finish everything although we tried our best! Lovely atmosphere, quick courteous service, would highly recommend this restaurant! Having gotten married here at Edenmore years ago, we can’t believe we’d forgotten how good the food is and will be back again very soon!

Family meal out. Staff very friendly and accommodating to our dietary requirements. Food was amazing. Really enjoyed. Will be back!

Went for the Sunday share board. Was asked how we would like the beef and lamb cooked. We asked for medium but it came well done. It was like they had taken a slice of cooked meat that was cold and heated it up in a frying pan causing it to be over cooked. The Yorkshire puddings were thick and claggy. The goose fat roasties were white with no flavour at all. The gravy was nice and the veggies. The deal was two courses for £24. We didn’t stay around for the pudding (our 2nd course) Was still charged £32. Don’t think we will be back. A very expensive veg and gravy meal 😡

High tea ,was little food for each person ,nice though , plenty of tea or coffee ,£20 each ,not worth it at all

Had a lovely lunch ... sorry no photos because I just eat it ... Open chicken and bacon sandwich on small round soda plus chips. Chicken was a lovely smokey flavour and I had a poached egg on another soda... delicious

First time trying this place and was pleasantly surprised. Great food and a fantastic service in beautiful surroundings. The menu exceeded our expectations, was well executed and justified the price. We will certainly be back in the near future and recommend you give it a try.

Brilliant Sunday lunch today. Starters were tasty and great selection. Our group had a selection of meats and all were superb. I recommend especially the roast sirloin beef served medium (also available well done). Yorkshire’s were the best we’ve had in years. Vegetables tasty and perfectly cooked. We dared to order dessert and the standards continued. I had the chocolate mousse with raspberry sorbet and it was a delight. Well done team Edenmore you are doing a cracking job.

Great food staff and surroundings.

Just been there for Sunday lunch with the family. There were 4 adults and one child in our party. I have to say the staff were all pleasant (and masked up) the service was really good, and very friendly. We had the Sunday buffet and it was gorgeous, plenty for 4 big appetites, to start my daughter and I had the goats cheese mousse and the men had chicken strips and soup and we all cleared our plates, Next came the mains, we opted for the beef, lamb and chicken which came with lots of gorgeous vegetables and Yorkshire puddings. My grandson had a chicken dinner and said they were the best mashed potatoes he had ever had 👍 My grandson had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert and cleared his plate. We will definitely be back

Called in for an early tea after lengthy Lockdown, new chef was on duty and what a treat, best meal I've ever had here, starter of Duck Liver Parfait on Treacle Bread was fantastic, main if burger was excellent, the beef patty was melt in mouth tender, and the cheese board was excellent. Service as usual excellent and friendly, and despite hosting a wedding and a Golf Open Week, was up to usual standard, new cocktails are good too I'm told by the boss. Great to have the local back open and even better with the new chef, who we were told was very nervous at his first service here, no need to be!!!!

The Curious Fox set in the beautiful Magheralin. Superb setting and staff who were more than helpful. Made to feel relaxed while enjoying what can only be described as deliciously prepared food. We will definitely be calling again soon.

Great golf course and friendly staff

Went here for afternoon tea with my mum and really enjoyed it. Plenty to enjoy and was really well catered for especially to allergies and dietary requirements. View was lovely and staff attentive. Definitely will be back

Had a lovely Sunday Carvery with family . Plenty of selection and food was good . Staff attentive. I am not a huge eater as I am sure a lot of other people are as well - so disappointed to find that you had to pay for 3 courses even if you only had 2. This means that people would order 3 courses because they had to pay for them regardless- surely there would be less food wasted if you only paid for what you could eat .

My fiance and I went here today for the 3 course carvery. We had the breaded brie and prawns for starters. They were both exceptional, but the bride was the winner for me. The actual carvery was one of the best we have ever eaten (we eat out a lot lol). The parsnips were cooked to perfection and the ham was glazed in the most delicious sauce. I had the apple crumble and my fiance had the cheese cake. The desserts were beautiful and we managed to clean our plates. On top of the great food, we recieved top class service and the views were outstanding. Can't recommend this place enough. We have already shown our friends and family pictures of our meal.

I was at The Curious Fox for a Christmas lunch on Saturday. We were absolutely delighted with our whole Edenmore experience. Thank you so much to Rebekh (events coordinator) for being so helpful, efficient and professional from our first point of contact. On the day we were warmly welcomed and the semi- private area we had organised was set up beautifully. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The food was outstanding and all guests were very pleased. We had such a great time! It was a really memorable afternoon. I have already recommended The Curious Fox to my family and look forward to coming back. 

Had booked a table in advance but when we arrived it wasnt ready, we had drinks in the bar that looks onto lovely views of the 18th hole. The selection in the carvery is excellent. Roast beef, turkey and ham, large selection of vegetables, roast potatoes, mash etc also a selection of sauces, cranberry, mints sauce etc. The food was beautiful and well worth the wait, service was great and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We'll be back again.

Excellent Food Service & Setting really quite & relaxing atmosphere

We had a very good dinner at the Curious Fox, located in the beautiful setting of a golf course. Our meal was casual (fish & chips, hamburgers, etc.). The service was attentive.

I was pleased with my meal, my wife thought the beef was tough and the whole meal not hot enough.

We just called in by chance and now we go there everytime we are passing. A great place with good food and friendly staff.

A warm welcome , great food and great location, a bit off the beaten track, but worth the effort to visit.

Great service and wonderfully prepared food

Visited the restaurant for birthday treat. Very inviting venue as it is also a golf club. Spotlessly clean and well maintained.Restaurant is very comfortable with some partitions that give an impression of some degree of privacy. It opens out onto a large veranda with great views of the golf course. External tables and chairs where you can have a drink or after meal coffee.We had squid and deep fried brie for starters and both were very good and portion sizes were good. For mains we had seabass and a steak and chicken dish. Both were excellent and service and timing by the staff were spot on.All in a well worth the visit, will be back and would have no hesitation recommending it to others.

We booked a table for 5 for sunday lunch,staff were on the ball cos altho the restaurant was fairly packed(which is a good sign) we were shown to our window table and explained hiw the system works, we ordered starters, prawn cocktail, leek an potato soup an 3 duck all of which were very tastyFor main carvery we all had a little of every meat(turkey, roast beef,lamb,ham and pork) every meat cooked to perfection with a multitude of sides and veg to choose again the chief's were magnificent at there jobs and a bit of banterCouple of us had the deserts 1 apple crumble an custard and 1 brownie with ice creamAgain its complaints to the staff and chiefs that make this place what it isWe will be returning very soon !

Quickly seated & drinks order taken. As we perused the menu we took in the views overlooking the golf links.We had a Scallops & a Brie to start, both tasty.Fillets steaks & fries quickly arrived as ordered, one rare & one well done. We had side orders of Garlic Mushrooms, whole garlics resting in the base of the boat & beer battered onion rings, very crispy. Delicious.We had no room to squeeze in dessert, maybe next time because we certainly will return.Service is excellent from professional & friendly staff.Draught Bass is available from the bar, yea, not served in many places anymore.Highly recommended.

Excellent lunch had with the family. It was carvery and every meat that you would wish for was available, along with a fish option. Lots of choice of vegetables and potatoes and as much as you would want to eat.Lovely desserts, sticky toffee pudding was delish.. Great prices

We had a family celebration here, a party of 12. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Service was fast and the food amazing, great portions, Sunday carvery is unreal! Highly recommended.

We went with a group of friends, the atmosphere was very relaxed with a man playing a guitar and singing with dulcet tones in the background. The food was amazing, I had the baked cod with seasonal vegetables. It was succulent and cooked to perfection along with a medley of mushrooms perfectly cooked. My friends had made other choices that I would have been happy to eat & will probably be back within the next few weeks to test my theory! The steak was of high quality and cooked to specification, this is always a good standard marker for me. We all ordered different desserts, the creme brûlée was perfect, probably the largest portion I have every had eating out, though I persevered!

Excellent food and beautiful surroundings.

Was pleasantly surprised with this find. I had been at the resort only once before (years ago) for a wedding so I wasn't sure about this restaurant. The menu was not massive (which I like because a) it's easier to decide and b) it's more likely that everything is made fresh) but there was still a good selection. I had the salmon with crabmeat and sweetcorn on mashed potatoes: I would define the menu as 'refined comfort food'- not really fine dining but a higher standard than most restaurants especially at such a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Best carvery around. When we have been it's always busy but the food is alway fresh and great portion sizes. Good variety too including fish for non meat eaters. Have taken various family and friends and they all comment on how impressed they are with the quality of food and nice surroundings. Would recommend the carvery.

Excellent service, excellent food avd drinks!

Bit disappointed that there where very few people about. The young man serving was very helpful with quick service and a pleasant attitude made us feel welcome. Lunch was very good. Club sandwich and grilled prawn on sour dough bread.

Fanatic food and atmosphere. Live music at the weekend is a great touch.

In the curious fox today with Black mountain golf society and I have to say i sat in the restaurant while the society played golf the staff were very friendly and helpful when the guys came in we had the carvery which was brilliant all you could eat the food was delicious would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and will look forward to returning in the near future

Attended a wedding here. Food was beautiful although could have eaten same again .

We booked the curious fox for my mum's 65th birthday, only 3of us as she didn't want a big shin dig. We got a lovely table by the window with stunning views over the golf course. The service was brilliant from start to finish, we ordered the crab claws for starter and it easily fed the 3 of us, for a starter it was a huge portion so well worth the money, and absolutely delicious. I had a strawberry daiquiri which was lovely and refreshing, along with sharing the pinot grigio one of the nicest I've had. For main I went with the fillet steak, with truffle & parmesan chips which were heavenly! And devoured by all 3 of us, the steak was flavoursome and cooked to perfection, along with the crispy onions and peppered sauce which were the best I've had the whole main was simply a plate of extreme flabour. My fiancé and mum went for the coq n bull which they both couldn't recommend more and much like mine said the flavours from their meal was just delicious. For dessert we all shared a sticky toffee pudding (our favourite) but as the meals were well sized in portion (definitely not a complaint) we couldn't of managed a dessert each. I couldn't recommend the curious fox more, the food, the service and the setting all made it a 5* experience. We enjoyed it so much we've already booked to go back in a few weeks.

This is the place for great steaks cooked to perfection sides of creamy champ and Parmesan and truffle fries were delicious. Good cocktails also. Service friendly and professional beautiful restaurant had our coffee on the open deck area which opens from the restaurant with amazing views over Moira and beyond a great way to end a hectic week at work - will be back

Went for a family celebration meal. Staff were very friendly but service was slow and one meal was forgotten. Some of the meats were over cooked and quite hard but rest of the food was tasty. Good live musician there who humoured my 2 year old nephew by singing "Baby Shark" for him!

First time at this venue. The place has obviously been refurbished to give it a more upmarket look and feel. The service was good as was the food. Above average prices. Probably better to book in advance. Friendly staff.
