Excellent food. Everything cooked to order and this meant a bit of a wait for the food. Portion sizes were big. The only down side is we had no room for pudding.

Feel so bad writing a poor review but I feel its necessary after the standard of food we recieved. My partner ordered a sirloin steak and instead revieved a minute steak but the price was of a sirloin. I ordered the macaroni which was luke warm. The waitresses were friendly though and it's a lovely atmosphere. Hopefully our experience is an isolated one as it seems a popular place

This is the only place in Culbokie but a great little find on our NC500 tour. I say to find, good parking, brilliant staff and wow the food was excellent. I only had the haggis Bon Bon starter and the steak pie main and I couldn’t finish it all. I would happily have paid more for the meal.

Welcoming atmosphere, and staff were very polite and friendly, but slow service to offer drinks. Starter was lovely but main was appalling! Roast beef raw cold and chewy. Mash over heated in microwave and horrible lumps. Chips over cooked and dry. Waitress apologised but there was no offer of a discount or refund. We love to eat out, and take family/friends to enjoy. Sadly this won’t be one of those places we return to. 👎

The menu was simple but appealing, family friendly pub grub. Kids menu had the predictable selection of items, which was perfect for my 2 hungry kids. All the main meals were freshly prepared and delicious. All 4 of us had clean plates! The appealing dessert menu made it difficult to choose what to have. Again, everything was freshly made and very generous in portion size. We have left here smiling, with very full bellies, thankful for the short walk back to the house. Visited tonight and asked for Vegan options. These were written on a piece of paper and read out by the owner but when I politely requested for it to be left with me to choose at my leisure she seemed to take offence to this. My daughter ordered sausages and they were burnt so she left most of them and I informed the very pleasant waitress when she came to clear our table of this. Upon leaving the owner (Anne) gave us the bill, I quickly scanned it and asked if she had missed out the sausages as they didn’t appear on the bill, she abruptly, and without eye contact said “you said they were burnt so we didn’t charge you” to which I thanked her, however, she did not mention this until I brought it up and there was no further comment regarding it. I didn’t feel our custom was appreciated. She should have acknowledged the fact and apologised and advised that she had not charged us - but nothing! Because of this I will not recommend (as I did previously) nor will I go back. It is not chesp to eat out as a family of four and I expect to be treated well when we do. Such a shame as her staff are faultless and the food is good.

Thinly sliced, cold with a bistro gravy on top! Tea was in a small cup and when I asked for hot water to top it up as it got cold quick, I was given a jug of hot water!!! How can anyone serve meat like that and claim it is the Sunday Roast! Won't be back. I had previously visited months before during the tourist season and had tasted the Sunday roast which was good, but obviously after the rush of visitors, shop bought appeared to be the best they could offer locals.

Six of us went on Saturday night. Service was excellent, surroundings very nice. It was busy but we weren't kept waiting. Two had the steak pie, which got the thumbs up. Steak was lean and no signs of fat anywhere, served with lovely chips and mixed veg. Two others had the chicken and black pudding in whiskey sauce. This also got the thumbs up, with only complaint that the chicken was a bit dry! Cleared there plates mind you, so it couldn't have been that bad! Hubby had the home made lasagne with garlic bread and he ate the lot! The other member of the family had the beef burger and again cleared his plate saying it was great. So all in all we were all happy with our food and the service. Yes we all said we would go back and try the Sunday Roast!

We ate here on our final night of the NC500. We chose this pub after looking for dog friendly dining options. We phoned ahead to book a table and the kind lady said she would keep the kitchen open later to accommodate us (the kitchen closed at 8 and we arrived at 8:20). We both had muscles for starter and the sea bass for main course. The portion size was amazing and we really should have shared the starter. The main course had two fillets of sea bass!!! The food was very tasty. We also really appreciated the kitchen staying open for us, we were made to feel very welcome including our wee dog, who got a clap and a biscuit. For the two courses and a couple of beers it was about £45.

This was one of those "out of the blue" decisions made and am really pleased we decided to try it.We booked for 6pm and I was surprised the place was empty, but soon the staff were getting ready for the busy time ahead and when we received our meal I could understand why. The menu would cover most tastes I should think and waiting time time was very short. The waitresses were very efficient and friendly and the food quality could not be faulted. If I was to be really picky I would say the veg I had was a touch overdone, but otherwise 1st class

They allow dogs in the bar and beer garden, and you can eat in there too, rather than the main restaurant. In winter they have the fire going, in summer there are tables outside where you get spectacular views. My husband and mother-in-law really enjoy the Sunday Roast. The vegetarian options are pretty limited and I've only had macaroni cheese the 3 times we have been. There could do with a less fattening vegetarian dish and maybe a vegan dish.

Six of us arrived without booking and were shown to a table. Drinks orders taken and served promptly.Good choice on the menu for adults and children. Food was all well cooked and presented. Service was top notch. Having spent a week in the Conon Bridge area we all agreed this was the best meal of the week. There are no white linen tablecloths or so-called 'fine dining' but this a good, honest place to find good food.I will return if I am in the area and I would recommend this pub to anyone.

The Black Isle has many good food and drink venues and this should be on your list. It's a small pub only open a few sprays a week (I think)Turned up without booking a table and this was no problem. Chose the chicken and ham pie with veg and spuds, very good. Given the time of year all of the tables were full and all of the customers were happy, I think some had been here many times before. It's a place I'll be coming back to next time I'm up this way. Excellent service and food.

We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we we’re lucky enough to have Rupert come and cook for us for our wedding. It was an absolutely amazing display of chef work with a 5 course menu which highlighted
