The Crown Public House & Dining Rooms in Liverpool

Love this pub and always visit when we are in town. But went there on Easter Monday and was told the prices had gone up for that day because it was Bank Holiday!! Disgraceful way to treat customers !!! Very bad. Won't be back and we have drank there for at least 20 years.

Ok so this was difficult to rate. The pub and atmosphere is a 5. We pooped in for a quick meal and a pint before the theatre. The pub is welcoming and friendly. We went through to the restaurant part and chose our food and ordered no issue. The food arrived plates were hot and the good was fresh and very hot. My hubby had a Pig burger with pulled pork on. It was well presented and cooked well he enjoyed it. I ordered fish and chips and I knew it was described as that but thought I'd try anyway. Again the plate was hot and the food too. The fish was the issue. It tasted of nothing and the batter was very strange. Not crisp in any way and was chewy and elasticity. Now I know when you order "fish" it can be pollock or hake but honestly this wasn't like fish at all. No flakes just slimy. Really sorry but it wasn't pleasant at all. I left most of the batter and ate the fish. Its such a shame as it looked so nice and a lot of effort was put in to making it look good. If you have room in tour budget I would recommend changing the fish. Or try it yourselves. It served a purpose for us was fresh cooked food before the theatre

Was in town for the football and as we had a wait for a connecting train, popped in for a pint as it's over the road from Liverpool Lime Street station. The pub was fairly busy with a good atmosphere but the friendly and knowledgeable staff served punters fairly quickly. A good range of cask ales and keg beers with bottles in the fridge. The pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord was in great condition. Worth a visit.

It was nice experience. Great pub better than others, great location at the corner of train station. Good selection of beers and reasonable price. Such nice atmosphere and love the ceiling and texture on stair red wall. sure I'm coming back again.

Before starting a week's holiday in Krakow my twin brother and I decided to jump the train down from Kirkby to Liverpool City Centre and visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for and at the top of our list of pubs to visit was The Crown Hotel Pub. A great looking pub ,interior is superb, very traditional, a great looking serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings spread throughout this pub set over two floors and there's plenty of seating options, it's just a great city centre pub. We got a pale ale each served by a really chirpy and funny member of the bar team, these ale's were served in excellent condition,we grabbed a table were we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My pale ale was really good, well balanced, well crafted,hoppy but not overhopped, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub,hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with ales served in such good condition. We really enjoyed our ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Crown Hotel Pub is easy to locate along Lime Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from 8am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Had a beautiful tapas here the staff are amazing especially ruth who served us all day and even when a man was verbal abussive to the staff. Ruth remained professionl on asking to leave the premises ensuribg the rest of her customers had a plesent evenibg Shannon is a star in helping Ruth maintaining a happy environment. My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of the city when we decided to drop into The Crown Hotel ,a pub we always look forward to visiting on any trip to Liverpool City Centre we take. I love the look of this pub, 2 roomed, an upstairs room ,a great looking serving bar, pubby decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport, the most distinctive feature of the pub interior and the most beautiful is the great looking ceiling, absolutely amazing. We were here on a Thursday night, pub was fairly quiet ,a nice laid back vibe ,we had a study of their real ale's and we both opted to have pale ale's from Wychwood Brewery, these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was really good, a well balanced pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish to it we both enjoy, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother Stephen, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Crown Hotel we had a great time. The Crown Hotel is easy to locate along Lime Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 8am till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, 8am till Midnight. Sunday, 8am till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

Popped in for a couple for of drinks with my partner and some friends after being over the Christmas markets at St George’s Hall. Been a few times over the years staff always friendly and always a good atmosphere.

Food was spot on I had jerk chicken flatbread my aunt had scampi and chips both were delicious our server was David very attentive will certainly return 😀

When we stay in Liverpool we always have a drink in the Crown being a Sunday afternoon we watched the live football and also Liverpool were home so it was good to hear the fans views.The crown has a good range of beers on offer I had a pint of Camden a sign of the times I had to pay £5,50 for it.Will be back next time we visit Liverpool.

This bar is the first travellers come to when leaving Lime Street railway station. It is an absolute must to have a drink here as the decor is stunning. The plaster ceiling has been kept in what looked like it original style. Never have I seen such a splendid ceiling in a drinking house.

This pub has interesting decor and worth going to just to have a look although we couldn't fault the food. Burgers were very tasty and good value for money. Staff serving food were friendly with a smile. Those behind the bar not so smiley! Toilets were clean, ladies being upstairs.

Had pizza with the buy one get one free on a Tuesday. Fantastic pizza, I had the hawaiian pizza which actually had fresh pineapple not the usual tin topping. Went in for a few drinks. Service was good. Even though it was busy. My only gripe is I asked for a disabled toilet and was told there wasn't one. Very discrimatory. To get to the ladies you have a steep set of windy steps. The young girl I asked was rude

We popped into the Crown whilst waiting for our return train and was welcomed by such lovely staff who guided us where to sit. They were so helpful when ordering and when the food came we were not disappointed. I’m leaving very full and happy as are my husband and 13 year old son. An overall pleasant experience. The decor was beautiful inside such a shock.staff are very efficient and cleaning tables on a regular basis.my husband had real ales these were kept well and right temperature. Food is served here also but did not get chance to eat here.right by liverpool train station.

We went for a drink while waiting for our train, the service was excellent and they did everything they needed to for the covid rules. The 2 J's and Ella where brilliant, they wouldn't accept a drink or a tip, I really do hope the management really appreciate the team members they have and they get a reward that they deserve! I love the look of this pub, its basically a two roomed pub ,the main drinking area is superb, an eye catching serving bar dominates the room, lovely decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options, the back room is equally good ,a really cozy area of the pub,there's also an upstairs to the pub which is more for dining,its a light and airy room and offers great views of the shopping streets around the pub,one of the most distinctive features of the pub is the wonderful ceilings, so ornate ,so beautiful, all in all its a wonderful pub to chill out in. The Crown Hotel is one of several pubs in the city centre that have very elaborate interiors and is a superb pub to visit as they also offer an excellent food and drinks menu.Located on Lime street in a very distinct building that has WALKERS ALE WARRINGTON across the upper part of this stunning building.The interior has two rooms with a superb upstairs area'all the rooms in this pub are very ornate and have amazing ceilings and great seating option's throughout the whole pubs interior.This is one of my favourite pub's in the city centre and we were delighted when they finally removed the indoor restrictions on May the 17th.As with all the pubs we went to we gave our track and trace details and took a seat in the main bar area.As is customary at the moment you have to be seated at a table to be served and a staff member came over and took our order of a couple of glasses of Timothy Taylor's brewery Landlord ale which was perfectly served and priced.This is a superb pub with great staff and well kept beers and a well priced food menu and is worth a visit especially if you are in this part of town.Very easy to find from Lime street train station look for Lime street and you cannot miss this pub.(This is my second review of the Crown Hotel).Opening Hours. Prime Minister Boris has laid down the roadmap out of the pandemic for the hard hit hospitality sector with pubs being allowed to reopen on the 12th of April with outside service only and from the 17th of May inside and outside service allowed and by June 21st more or less back to normality so it will be great once again to visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, The Crown Hotel Pub on Lime Street is a pub I personally can't wait to visit again. This pub serves some of the best real ale's in Liverpool served by staff who are very knowledgeable about their real ale's and are genuinely pleased to see you in their pub, my last visit here was great ,covid safe ,all government guildlines adhered to and real ale's served in excellent condition, had a wonderful time in here as my twin brother Stephen and I always do,not sure when this pub will reopen, I suspect it will be the 17th of May when indoor service is allowed, if so I will most certainly be visiting here ,I've already booked a couple of days off work. A wonderful pub,when the 3rd and final lockdown is lifted most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Lime Street, the pub is facing Liverpool Lime Street Railway Station.

My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon ( pre tier three coronavirus pandemic restrictions ) , greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number via our covid app to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands, we were allocated a table were we ordered a pale ale each ,these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, well balanced, full bodied pale ale, hints of toffee and a big hit of hops, very easy to drink, a real ale style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of, while sipping our pale ale's we pondered on the fact that to go to a pub,bar or restaurant you have to track and trace, sanitise hands and wear masks when not seated making pubs, bars and restaurants the safest environments to visit in these strange coronavirus pandemic times but if you go to a shop or department store there's no track and trace system in operation, hardly anyone wears masks and when they do they wear them they wear them incorrectly ie under the nose or mouth ( chin hammocks ) ,if there's a spike in the coronavirus pandemic the scientific crackpot advisors instantly villianise the hospitality sector who are adhering to the rules but do nothing to the retail sector, think the government are scared of losing the retail revenue, hypocrisy at it most blatant. Thats my rant over and let's get back to this great pub,staff and atmosphere in here was really good and our pale ale's were exceptionally good, we ended up staying for another one each before moving on and as on every other visit to The Crown Hotel we had a great time.The Crown Hotel is easy to locate along Lime Street, its adjacent to Liverpool Lime Street Railway Station. An absolutely fantastic pub,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit

Great pub right outside lime street station great choice of drinks and food. Staff always happy and helpful and very strict on COVID rules but you feel very safe and in good hands would recommend.
