Sunday 4:30 pm - quite quiet. Concerned that it was quiet and the kitchen looked shut however we were pleasantly surprised when we ordered. We got a Sunday Roast Beef and a fish and chip. Absolutely delightful. The staff was very kind and attentive.

I’ve been to this pub for work drinks and been back a few times since for a Sunday roast. The roast is excellent and all the staff I’ve encountered have been very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the roast beef, my wife is vegetarian and really enjoyed the nut roast. The pub has a great atmosphere. I’ll be back there soon.

Been here a few times now downstairs in the pub for drinks we then tried the food which was amazaing which lead us to enquire about hiring the upstairs bar for our family xmas meal again your staff excelled theselves catering for all Which lead is to asking for the upstairs bar area for a 40th birthday party again your staffs friendly can do attitude shone through again menu was amazing the presention of the food and the taste was also on point

We came in on an overcast Sunday and were immediately greeted by a friendly bartender, we sat down had some lovely drinks and later decided to get food, the staff were very attentive and polite, the food was delicious too! 10/10 I will definitely be coming back!!

This pub is so odd. Asked for hand soap. The bar tender said he would replace it. I had to ask again an hour later - I got asked not to steal it. Get some wall fixtures.

We fancied some food and loved that they had a fish goujon sandwich (or fish finger sandwich 😉). We’ve been coming to London for 15 years and our tradition is a fish finger sandwich, this has to be the best one we’ve had….and all with service with a smile. One of the best pubs in Chiswick for snacks, full on meals and for an old school pub feel. Staff are very attentive and welcoming.

Popped in for a quick Saturday lunch and were met with friendly and swift service. The food was delicious - the best fish and chips we’ve had for years. Def worth a visit and would have stayed longer for a beer if we hadn’t got the car with us.

Really good atmosphere. The karaoke was very entertaining. My favourite part was when everyone was very supportive of the lady who sang and was very, very bad. The staff were nice too.

The Crown and Anchor is our local pub, very cozy, amazing staff and the halloumi fries are to die for!

Food was excellent, hot and well presented. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had a private room that was clean and well set out. Will definitely book our Christmas gathering here next year.

A decent pub. Benefits from having TV's to show the football and is very nice on the interior. Downsides are that it is quite expensive for a pint, and there doesn't seem to be much of an atmosphere.

Nice place, friendly staff, good selection of beers. Went there for Sunday Roast and was disappointed with it. Cut was not great. Roasted potatoes were more like boiled potatoes. I would not recommend this place for Sunday Roast.

Staff were warm and friendly. The music was amazing. I ordered steak which was very nice. It was just missing the advertised watercress. House red wine was easy to drink. Sometimes there was no background music between the live sets which did affect the ambience.

We recently booked the Crown & Anchor for my 60th Birthday Party..... What a fabulous night. With over 100 people & 2 live bands....the lay-out was perfect, the staff were AMAZING and the food was delicious. We have received SO MANY positive comments over the following days, particularly relating to the brilliant service....you all really helped in creating a truly memorable evening for very many people. We went to a private party and wow what a venue. Staff were amazing from the original planning stage to making sure it was amazing on the night. Sunday sport nothing better. Pub looked good the team were friendly I think a lot of them were new.. but the manager was making up the difference.. really made our day.: we didn’t get up to get drinks.. he saw we were low and honestly after the match we stayed longer because he kept catching us before we finished our round. Smart haha.

Had some good food here. Rather limited on cask ale offerings but the St Austell Tribute was in excellent condition.

Today, my husband and I popped into the Crown and Anchor, with our son, as previously been welcoming and helpful for a quick baby nappy change or pregnant persons visit to the loo. With the last manager I’d had comfortably had a few frank discussions with him about how the “accessible toilet” doubled as a storage room for boxes of toilet paper and two stinky mops with buckets. A couple of months ago during the first trimester of my pregnancy these mop buckets nearly triggered a bout of vomiting as the musty mop stench is vile. The lights are dim and a couple of months ago the toilet was in no way accessible for a wheelchair user or a mother with a pram. I raised my concerns in a friendly and direct way and the manager took it on the chin as it was simply the truth. When I returned a few weeks later most of the boxes were gone, but the buckets were still there. Today, I hadn’t realised it was under new management - that was a painful discovery. After this visit, our impression I can only describe the new manager Julie as fake, passive aggressive and defensive. Before heading in to the toilet, my husband and son went ahead to sort his nappy, and I just grabbed the key and lightly said are the buckets and mops still in there? Julie said yes. And I said oh dear, what a shame as they are smelly and inconvenient when we use that room. They really should be moved. She (with accusatory eyes and arms defensively folded) then said, “excuse me are you having a drink while you visit here?” And I said no (actually my husband was hoping for a coffee and we were even considering where to have lunch). I added that as I’m pregnant I’m legally entitled to use the toilets of public houses and mentioned that my son needed a nappy change. Julie said, yes that’s right. She gave me an insincere smile, and said as there’s no other space for them that’s where they will stay. She added, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. I replied and said, “I think you’re lying.” As I walked to join my husband, I added “well I’ll remove the buckets as we use the space and I might replace them when we leave…” Who wants to be shunting around musty smelly mop buckets when they are just popping to the loo?! She half followed and was adding excuse me? Then my son was trying to avoid being in the toilet, as it stank and was dim. The nail in the coffin, so to speak, was that as my husband was passing the bar as we exited… she said to him, “My deepest sympathies for your life.” My husband said “excuse me?” I then joined after putting the mop buckets back in the “accessible” toilet to return the key, and saw him looking shocked. And I asked her what she said. With arms folded, she repeated the phrase again. It was clearly a dig at the “struggle” he must have sharing a life with me. And she was happy to see us connect the dots. I mentioned that the vibe of the pub was very different since the previous manager left. She said ‘yes, it is…´ with a smile. My husband works in hospitality serving multi millionaires and billionaires. He is an expert at managing tense conversations with a potential customer. To see such poor customer service and communication, delivered by no other than the manager of a public house was shocking. For a manager to say something incredibly rude to someone (my husband) who wasn’t even a part of the initial dialogue was catty and displayed a huge lack of customer service skills. Ultimately, I was in the right. The mops and buckets DON’T belong in the “ACCESSIBLE TOILET”. She had no grace and definitely no skills with navigating a slightly more complicated conversation. And clearly didn’t feel able to admit being in the wrong. PS. Put some air freshener in there!! And change the lights. PPS. The pub lost custom today… and for the future.

Great place, friendly service, severs good food but requires atmosphere and identity? Are you Modern, traditional, football/sports or family and working friends? Or just a high level Bar?

Visited this lovely pub on Saturday to watch football with friends. The place was super busy but the service we received was absolutely superb. Huge shout out to Rick. Not often you come across service he has provided. Very friendly, helpful and funny which made our visit even better. Will be back soon for sure .

This is a pub that has changed much over the years. It was one of the best on the high road. Then Covid happened. It is obviously making an effort to regain it's old position. Customers are back. The current team are friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks well served. Not tried the food but my daughter didn't find it favourable.

Stayed for drinks with friends on a business trip in London and we had a very nice time. Karaoke was a bit loud but fun :)

Loved visiting here over Christmas, really felt festive when we went in! Lovely staff, great decor inside and good beer, our Chiswick favourite.

I’ve been there a number of times. Most recently last night. I had the free range British pork sausages on mash with gravy - it was absolutely delicious and the Guinness was fresh. The service was friendly and good and the pub looks wonderful with their Christmas decorations creating a great atmosphere! I’ll definitely be back.

3 months now no chef ridiculous

I have had great experiences here in the past, but on my last visit the draught beers such as Doombar were unavailable and the kitchen was closed.

The team were very friendly , beer was very tasty. We were recommended the beavertown bloody ell and we even had a second , they don't serve food at the moment but we will most definitely be back to try some once the kitchen reopens

Pub does brilliant food, is one of only a few pubs in Chiswick that show Sky and BT, and the staff are all incredibly friendly. Good range of beers to choose from too.

Only went for a couple of drinks last night during England VS Denmark. Though we didn't book in advance, a lovely lady allowed us in and was so welcoming. She even brought two water bowls for the dogs, was such a lovely move especially we didn't even request that. Outstanding customer service really. Would definitely go again
