The Crown in Gwynedd

Just passing and fancied some dinner. The food here is absolutely delicious. I had the homemade lasagne (which definitely was homemade). It was bubbling hot and so tasty. Great food at great value. I will definitely go back.

We visited the pub at lunchtime. It was very busy, but we were able to order quickly. The counter service was friendly and had everything well under control. The table service was pretty bad. There were still things from the previous person on our table and everything was full of leftover food. Overall the whole place was very dirty. It's a shame, we expected more of it.

We went here for lunch after visiting the castle. The prices are cheap and the pub was busy. The food was at snack level. The staff was overwhelmed and didn't even clear or clean the tables when guests changed. The barmaid was friendly and took the orders quickly.

Great location! Close to the Castle. We spent in Caernarfon few days but on last one we found this place. Many memorabilia on walls and perfectly cold lager.

Are here twice, first time had sandwiches and delicious home made soup, 2nd time had a main meal. Easily the best food we've had during our stay.

Great place, and a great atmosphere, unfortunately the food is tasteless which is probably why its so reasonably priced, tip to manager, sack the home cook,hire a proper chef and put the price of your food up !

We had a really good pub meal here - prices very reasonable and the quality was spot on!

As I'm from out of town the staff we're very friendly and service spot on. Even the locals made you feel welcomed. Didn't have food as I was to busy drinking. I'll definitely pop in again when in the area

Great little pub with basic bur fantastic food, just had their Chilli with half and half and enjoyed every mouthfull of it.

Highly recommending food, large portions ,prices are down to earth which doesn't break your bank, excellent helpful staff only down time is time of serving food 5-8pm so you have to be quick...

Un pub typique du coin, ça change des lieux touristiques. Une excellente ambiance à l'intérieur, les habitués sont très gentils et accueillants pour peu que vous soyez un minimum respectueux. La nourriture est d'une qualité, c'est excellent et surtout très peu cher, le rapport qualité/prix est tout bonnement incroyable, on pourrait retrouver ce genre de plats à presque une vingtaine de livres Sterling dans d'autres lieux, vous en aurez pour moins de 10 livres en mangeant très bien ici. Service impeccable et rapide, je recommande grandement, n'hésitez pas à y faire un tour !

Not been to the Crown for twenty years plus. Was in Caernarfon later in the evening and wanted a quick bite to eat with the kids in tow. Persuaded to try the Crown and wow! Wow for the price, quality and family friendly atmosphere on a Tuesday Cheap and cheerful but my fish and chips was perfect. Recommended. Diolch yn fawr

Reasonably priced food. It's no gourmet meal but it's value for money

We had lunch today , both of us chose the steak, it came with homemade chips, homemade coleslaw, tomato, mushrooms and I had pepper sauce, plus two drinks. Everything was excellent! Great value , great food and lovely people, just couldnt fault it at all. We will a return very soon

Not a bad little pub but not enough seats or room to cater for busy periods....my recommendation would be to remove the pool table as the area around there would increase the seating area alot!

Stoped in the area for a few days and Called in Wednesday evening for a meal for my wife and myself. What more can I say excellent service staff were fantastic and food was to die for we will visit again in the summer.10 out of 10

Real fun pub, went here every night during our stay at Caernarvon, Been an Everton supporter love seeing the Ferguson shirt behind the bar.

Nice pub in the centre of Caernarvon. Friendly staff and good price for beer. Shame they don't do a local ale.

The decor is modern not what you would expect being right in the middle of the walled town. Good beers at competitive prices or cheap if compared to the Black Boy. Food good and cheapest Fish and chips in town. Vegetarian lasagne on the menue would be great for non meat or fish eaters. Local pub and used by a lot of council employees Monday to Friday lunchtime.

When I visit Caernarfon this pub has become a favourite. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere, open fire and amazing Sunday Dinners! I would highly recommend!

Food was fabulous and lovely staff

Came here for the Wales/England game. Very handy pub! Facilities were grand. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the pints were very good. Will be back again when I re-visit North Wales

Terrible service I was waiting 20 minutes to get a beer, the staff seem to only want to serve the locals or their mates I know saturday nights are busy but it was basically racism.

Called in for a lunch break 25 October 2022. Fish and chips were great and the price was so value for money. Definitely hit the spot. Unfortunately I was driving but the beer selection looked varied enough.

We had a couple of drinks and meals in here whilst on holiday. The food was decently priced, generous portions and tasted great. Staff were friendly and the pub had the feel of a "local" rather than one of the big chains. As the cost of living sores good value for money matters, I would recommend this pub.

It's a nice very clean pub friendly staff but for £5.99 meal it's has cheap has chips it's was edible but not the best just tastes like a ready meal .

Hi All, we've just had a fabulous meal in the Crown. We were recommended by a local & can honestly say it was one of the best steaks we've tasted, and such fantastic value! Highly recommended!

Don't know where all good reviews come from,no complaint over food customer service awful asked for two teas cups arrive with spoons in two uht milks on side I asked was there fresh milk the girl looked at me like I was from Mars and just walked off,so rude if she doesn't want the job leave,the girl who took order had a face on her,the pub should do itself a favor put your prices up and get decent staff, definitely won't return

We discovered this pub whilst walking back from Caernarfon Castle and what a find!! Really cosy friendly clean and relaxing place ! We had our lunch here and it was so good!! Hubby had home made chicken curry and chips which he really enjoyed, and I went for a simple sandwich and much to my surprise when it was served it also had a substantial salad and beautifully cooked real chips ! Sooo good!!

We got there in most busy period, so we wait for our food a bit, but it was worthwhile. Very affordable and tasty, big portions, and we paid just little over 40£ for six people. Will visit again.

Well we went here at 12.15 today we'll the welcome we had was lovely the ladies were very friendly. The food was first class 5 stars definitely BIG BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL .AND Must say the ladies room was immaculately clean .so if you are in Caernarfon it a must.

Very good food. We ate here twice. Today we had the crown burger. It was delicious. This is one of the few places that serve proper salad with your food, not just a leaf.😅

Friendly bar tucked away behind the castle 🏰. With good beers and food. However, top end whiskey was not available.

Dropped in here a couple of times. Found the staff and locals to be friendly. Food was simple but perfectly reasonable. The addition of a cask real ale would be good but the keg John Smiths was fine.

What an absolute incredible place super cheap as well we had three meals for £12 !! Yes three different plates of food and the chips are the best I've had in Wales(I've had a lot of chips) wonderful staff too

Great value. This place was loads cheaper than most of the surrounding options. The pub was spotless. The service was friendly. Food was good simple pub grub done really well. It was all tasty and fresh. The homemade chips were the best of the week. The ham egg and chips was home cooked. Gammon with pineapple came with grilled tomato and 2 pineapple rings! Real honest food that we all enjoyed

Had lunch here 29/09/20I have never seen such a clean pub even the toilets including the men’s were spotless.The staff were very polite and friendly and the food while basic was AMAZING value and very tasty. This place is really is the jewel in THE CROWN thanks very much..

From the minute you entered you were made to feel welcome. Every meal under a fiver except the steak. Meals beautiful and large portions. Would strongly recommend a big thanks to Michael for great service.

Cheap and cheerful pub grub, served by polite and helpful staff. The prices before ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ are very reasonable, but are an absolute steal after the discount is applied. The food was hot and delicious, and at these prices there is absolutely no room for complaint. Believe it or not, but chili con carne with half and half, full Welsh breakfast (with chips) and four cans of diet coke for £7.40! Even at full price it is a bargain and saves on buying ingredients and washing up! What’s not to like?! Be sure to pop in if you are in the area.

I came in tonight (19th aug) struggling to get food anywhere we had three children with us and 5 adults! Instantly the staff were all so welcoming, pushed me a table together to fit all 8 of us in! Menu was basic but it was proper pub grub, amazing value for money! What I really liked was all the allergens were in the back of the menu we didn’t have to ask for help it was amazingly straight forward and the best we had seen in 7 years of dealing with allergies! We would definitely recommend and we will be back! Thank you to all the staff who were so accommodating! Xx

Excellent pub great cheap food good quality

We went looking for a restaurant late into the evening when most places had stopped serving food. I was with my parents and my wife when we spotted The Crown in the town centre near to where we had parked the car. Although it was more of a pub, they also served food. The Crown was very clean.They followed health and safety (Covid) rules by taking our details. We were particularly pleased that they were also taking part in the 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme; although to be honest, the food was VERY cheap anyway! There was a clean menu with plenty of choice. The thing we all were most appreciative of was the care shown to us as customers, how kind and polite the manager and the staff were. Honestly, we may not have thought to go there at first because it appeared to be more of a drinking pub than a restaurant, but it was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We will certainly recommend it to others and I can't stress how impressed we were at the care shown, politeness and cleanliness. The food was very nice too - everything that one hopes for when eating out in an unfamiliar town.

Watched the Wolves vs Man Utd game here, very busy place, full of locals. Bit of a dump/working mens club type vibe. The place was so busy people decided to stand infront of us while watching the match...

I cannot praise this place highly enough, my partner and I popped in for a bit of lunch on Saturday, they had a open fireplace with a roaring fire burning to warm us up. The food was outstanding, especially the home made chips, we couldn't believe how cheap it was as well, huge portions, the bar staff are great and very friendly. Loved our visit and will be coming back.

DISGUSTING. Called in with my wife for birthday lunch. Busy, 3 small tables vacant and 2 local men wanted those tables just for a drink. Not welcoming at all. We didn't stay. Not tourist friendly.

Warm welcome and an open fire you can sit by to watch the football game. Pool table that you can play a game and slot machine available. Juke box also available to choose your favourite music.

Great friendly homely pub,with nice atmosphere and real fire, missed food unfortunately as finished at 2,30, but we'll be back.amazing prices for drinks and food
