The Cross Keys Country Inn & Restaurant in West Lindsey

Went for lunch yesterday 6/6 with my wife and her friend. The ladies had the roast beef which they said was really nice. I drew the short straw and had the poached haddock. Yes , it was very tasty and that is where it ends. The portion was the smallest I have ever seen It looked like half a fillet cut in half again. It reminded me of a dish in a 5* hotel not in a village pub. For what was being charged for it a hell of a profit was being made.

First lunch reopening was an excellent food experience. Four different meals, all plates cleared. The quality of the food here is difficult to beat anywhere. Fresh ingredients cooked and served brilliantly by Dan , Hayley and the team . Thank you so much . If you haven’t been , then get booking!

We ordered afternoon tea for the first time.. it was excellent and the presentation was fantastic. We felt it was excellent value for money. So this will definitely be a monthly treat.. Thank you to all the chefs working in these hard times xx

They have a new section on the takeaways, "Healthy Options" but what I hadn't spotted a day or so earlier is you need to order 24 hours before you would like it to avoid possible disappointment. I struck out with the Sea Bass but my wife did not with her choice. There is always another week. I chose the Chicken Savoyarde, new addition and and it was excellent and my wife had the Roast Chicken Breast off the Healthy option. Both beatifully cooked and tasty :-) We are looking forward to this weeks themed night, usually held at the venue but this time it is a takeaway, Tapas. We've had theirs before so we weren't going to miss this one. We all looking forward to it, son, daughter and her husband. One order, 3 venues :-( Our treat

I can’t rate the Cross Keys highly enough, the food is always delicious, fresh, hot and superb. Although the restaurant is closed at the moment the takeaways are just as good. The new Chicken Savoyarde is incredible and the Ultimate Burger delicious, today we had Lunch in a Bag - one of Dan’s famous hot sausage rolls and a cupof homemade soup - totally delicious and filling. The staff are so friendly - thanks team Cross Keys you’re all amazing,

I very rarely post on Trip Advisor; however, I feel compelled to do so on this occasion because of the exceptional service provided by the Cross Keys. My wife and I have often used this place as somewhere to go to treat our family when they visit, all of whom live a significant distance away; it is always a wonderful experience, Dan and Hayley have done a super job with the place. We have not until yesterday utilised the takeaway service, I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone, it is the panicle of excellence, especially when all the precautions for Covid 19 is taken into consideration. We contacted them, booked a collection time and ordered our food. My daughter, who herself works part time in another pub commented most favourably on the clarity of the information provided for collection. It is so safe and no contact is experienced with any member of staff and the customer at point of collection. On to the food, we ordered Fish, Chips and Peas, Lasagne and finally a Steak and Ale Pie. They were packed perfectly and when my wife and daughter returned home (8 mile journey) it was all still piping hot. The quality of the food was up to the usual high standards you expect from this establishment. Well done Cross Keys, I wish you every success in these difficult times and look forward to coming through your doors again to thank you in person.

We were hoping to have lunch today at Stow, but find ourselves in lockdown 2. So we decided to have a hot takeaway. We were seriously impressed by the recyclable delivery packaging. Our prawn cocktail was generous with fabulous prawns. My pie and my husbands ribs were terrific as were all the accompaniments. My husband’s said his sticky toffee pudding and sauce were awesome, sorry I forgot to take a photo, it was consumed so fast!We will definitely be ordering again. Thank you Hayley, Dan and team. Had a great meal at thsi delightful countryside quality venue as always.The team have in place great measures to ensure a really Covid safe experience whilst maintianing a friendly and homely dining expereince.Staff were welcoming, friendly and the whole experinec felt really safe but realxing at the same time.Great menu choice and as alwsy the food was delicious and did not disappoint.Well worth a vist;would highly recommend!

Four of us have just thoroughly enjoyed a super lunch . All four had different meals which were all delightfully cooked and served by such a friendly team. The quality of food is first class , looks great and tastes even better. Hayley and Dan are serving a limited menu , but there is still plenty of choice. Well recommended. They are also fully Covid safe . Thanks team, we will be back.

An outstanding meal in a safe and friendly environment. Despite social distancing of tables their was a pleasant atmosphere. Our second visit since the opening after lockdown and we have already planned our next one. Once again the food was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient.

Having had several excellent takeaways while the restaurant was closed due to Covid 19 it was lovelly to be able to eat in the restaurant again. We booked for their first night after lock down and whilst the menu was understandable not as large as usual there was still a good variety to chose from and my wife and I had an excellent meal and looking forward to going again.And for those still feeling a little cautious regarding Covid 19 they are operating a very thorough set of procedures to minmise any risk, more so than any other similar establishment that we have been in before and since.

Went out for our first meal since the Covid Lockdown due to us shielding. Very nervous to go out but couldn’t have picked a better place. The staff were superb and their Covid safety awareness was 10/10. We were made to feel so safe and soon relaxed to enjoy a deliciously cooked meal with our family. Absolutely lovely meal and lovely evening, thank you so much for making us feel normal again. Would most definitely recommend to everyone.

Went on Sunday absolutely fantastic the food is beyond delicious the service outstanding while still adhering to covid 19 safety for customers and staff the staff are all helpful and make you so welcome its like going home for sunday dinner. Thanks Dan,Hailey and all your great team your awsome

Decided to treat ourselves again last Fri with another takeaway. This time we chose the pan roasted chicken and beer battered haddock & chips. Both were excellent as we would expect and have been used too.Procedure to order and collect works very well and avoids any close contact with the staffThe packaging is very good, despite the 8 mile return journey the meals did not require any reheating, I actually ate mine from the box so minimal washing up too :-)Looking forward to our first meal out in their restaurant on Aug 1st, their first day after closing due to Covid. A lot of information on their website on how they are to operate under the current conditions providing confidence that they have taken it seriously.Some other restaurant websites barely mention Covid let alone how they are operating to keep you safe.

They have resumed their takeaway option after a short break during these challenging times. They offer home delivery but we are little way out of their area but well worth the journey 16miles in total.We chose the Full ribs and the Steak pie. The food was well prepared, as we would expect from this restaurant and well packaged. When we got the food home and plated it up we expected to have to give a short blast in the microwave but no it was ready to eat.We both enjoyed our choices, very tasty and the steak was tender.Looking forward to when they can re-open the restaurant but in the meantime we will no doubt sample another takeaway, simple process by phone

Ordered a Father’s Day dinner from their takeaway menu for myself and my family. We’ve always enjoyed eating here when it was open but were trepidatious about what a takeaway Sunday lunch would be like. We needn’t have worried. I collected it from about 12 miles from my home, everything boxed up in takeaway containers and safely and efficiently delivered to my car. By the time I got home, everything was still hot, and the quality of the food was truly excellent. I was the only vegetarian and m one was outstanding but all of us were impressed with the portion sizes and tastiness of it all. So pleased for them and I hope lots of people order from them and make this venture worthwhile until they can reopen properly. Excellent food, excellent organisation, excellent value!

Just had a fantastic takeaway meal, both the ribs and the cheese souffle were out of this world, great service from a great local pub

My wife and I have just finished our chilled meal delivered by Hayley , this morning. Wow,wow, wow! The quality of the cooking and standard of food was absolutely top class. When Hayley delivered all these bags ,I thought, I only ordered two meals! So , we had our Prawn Cocktail starter and our puddings for lunch. With a couple of slices of Dans fresh bread. We thought all was very good. Tonight, my wife had the twice baked cheese soufflé and was effusive from the first mouthful, saying so light, delicious and tasty. I had the pleasure of a huge steak and mushroom pie, absolutely full of meat, gravy and mushrooms. Excellent. All the veg was tasty too , with a lovely gravy ( jus) ! Thank you for serving up quality food , delivered with full cooking instructions, so I can eat it when I want. I really hope the venture takes off, and gets you through these awful times.Now the question is, can I get a hot takeaway Sunday lunch back here , home, hot enough? Not tomorrow, I’m full! Thanks again , super service and really really good food!

Food was SO good! The best fish and chips I have had especially in Lincolnshire the batter on the fish was perfect. Can’t wait to go back and dine in the restaurant for a lovely meal with family and friends, love the service and the quality of food and just a lovely pub meal out!

Countless times now we have used cross keys for our dinners. Fantastic food. Great friendly staff. Always a guaranteed winner! What a gem!

The food was rather average with small portions , but on entering the restaurant me and my partner felt most uncomfortable and almost like a burden to them . Pudding was lovely but due to feeling that uncomfortable with a tense atmosphere between us and staff would not go again . For the quality of food the prices were to high .

Called for an impromptu Sunday lunch having read reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. Beautifully tender meat, good portions and interesting vegetables, all of which were really well cooked. Would have liked a pudding but sadly we were just too full. Will definitely return if we are in the area.

In the shadow of Stow Minster a perfect venue. The roast sirloin was excellent, and it was so tender normal knives cut it easily. vegetables interesting and tasty, and not typical, the meal was cooked to perfection. Service is warm and friendly and attentive. The specoal requests we handled.Overall a perfect traditional Sunday lunch, but you need to book. The cost for mains and Deserts and coffee was about £20 each, but it is worth it.

Went last night after first option fully booked and so pleased it was. Very friendly and warm welcome followed by good service even though busy as had large party in, our presence wasn’t overlooked as a result. But wow the food !! The best food my hubby and I have had in a very long time. The soufflé just melted in your mouth and the belly pork was exquisitely presented tasted amazing. Managed to share the sticky toffee pudding which was amazing light full of flavour and lots of sauce. Will definitely recommend to friends and will be going again but won’t leave it so long next time. Compliments to you all.

Living nearby, I often walked the dog past it and always promised ourselves a visit but were a little put off by its being a little out of our price range. However we were given a gift voucher so we went last night. It was amazing. From the white bait starter through the twice baked cheese soufflé (delicious) to the sticky toffee pudding and cheeseboard, everything was above expectations. Hubby’s steak was perfection and better than at Miller and Carter. We will definitely go again but it would be a special treat, we waved goodbye to almost a hundred pounds (including the voucher and a bottle of wine) but felt we had had a special experience. One of the few restaurants that still offer soup as a starter option and the cheeseboard, a rarity these days. Welcoming atmosphere too. Well done Cross Keys! Hope to be back soon!

I’ve never had a bad meal here, could do with making it a bit cosier but the food is always good. Have just dined at a very expensive restaurant in Lincoln and was extremely disappointed, I said to friends we should have gone to the cross keys, it’s always excellent food and service and good value for money.

Had family over for my Aunties 70 Birthday, so visited for a meal. Ordered off the Christmas menu. Beautiful set up, so festive, Staff friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing, and plenty of it. I had the mushroom wellington for starter, it was so tasty, Beef for main, cooked to perfection, and for desert Chocolate orange torte, needless to say i ate it all. Everyone enjoyed their meals, roast turkey was a popular choice, and the selection of gins went down a treat. I highly recommend this restaurant. We often go and they have never let us down.

Rang to book a table for Saturday lunch, at which point I enquired about disabled facilities and without prompting the lady offered to put a cone out to reserve a parking space allowing easy access to the entrance. This was just the start off a wonderful dining experience. The food was lovely and cooked to perfection. The cask ales are obviously well looked after and a wide range of gins to choose from. All of this was backed up with excellent service. Will make a return visit when back in the area and definitely recommend to others. Thank you

Dinner for two on a Saturday night. Server Haley was a delight. Simply outstanding food. Huge fresh greens salads to start, with amazing smoked sun dried tomato as a perfect component. Wife’s beet tart and my pumpkin risotto were sublime. Very busy night but not loud, nor did we ever feel neglected. Really great food, superb service. Can’t wait to return.

My wife & I plus another couple went out for a meal. We've been a few times over the years as you can usually be sure of a great meal and we were not disappointed. My choice was a Pigeon starter, plaice for my main course and Apricot Brandy Creme Brulee. Other dishes included Cheese souffle, rack of ribs, lambs liver, brownie and salted caramel ice cream. All washed down with either a glass or two of white wine or real ale. An excellent evening all round.

Absolutely fantastic dinner last night at the Cross Keys Stow . My 4th visit to this amazing restaurant since moving here from down south and I couldn’t wait to take my family when they visited . I had raved to them about the rack of ribs for ages ( the best you will find anywhere ) took my son Ashley and girlfriend yesterday and they completely agreed . And as for the sticky toffee pudding , well , it’s soooo light I swear if they had let it go it would have floated to the table on its own . Ok , so I may exaggerate a little but I promise , desert lovers everywhere, this is a must .

Last night we attended the Tapas night. The cross keys do a variety of events. My self and my husband went with another couple, and had a wonderful evening. We had a variety of dishes served, and everything brought to us was delicious, from a selection of meats, olives, home cooked breads, meat balls, a chicken dish, prawns, potatoes and chorizo and lots more. They also have a wide variety of Gins, and other drinks, and the toffee vodka just finished the meal perfectly. The Atmosphere was so friendly and positive and the Staff are so helpful. I highly recommend the cross keys, weather you go for a meal or to one of the events nights.

Took my wife and elderly mother to the Cross Keys for Sunday lunch. Set menu but really good choice and staff were really helpful. One of the best places to eat within easy reach of Gainsborough

Starter was prawns in a cucumber ring, perfect. My husband had a cheese souffle which was amazing I had to try it for myself. Stunning in presentation and lots of flavour worthy of a Michelin star. Both meals were also presented in the very best way possible. I would highly recommend this place for a very good service, friendly staff and host. If you follow this recommendation ENJOY as we did.

Had an absolutely lovely meal here highly recommend it, the food was awesome i had the twice baked cheese souffle to start n the venison partridge Guinea fowl pancetta sweet potato for main with a few chips i nicked from my friend, it was cooked to perfection, the staff was friendly and the restaurant itself lovely, definitely will returning

Me and my wife go out for Sunday dinner and We have started marking the restaurant out of 10 this is only our opinion of the cross keys.

This was our first visit to the Cross Keys and certainly not the last.There was a good selection of gluten free food, and it was cooked to perfection. We were in a party of 4 and we had a great evening, all the meals were piping hot and served at the right time, a good selection of wines and beers. The staff were very friendly and helpful, only a matter of time before we visit again.

Wir haben uns im Internet informiert welche Essensmöglichkeiten es im Umkreis unserer Unterkunft gibt und uns für diesen "Pub" entschieden. Vor Ort wurden wir von einen super tollen Restaurant mit stimmiger Atmosphäre überrascht. Das Essen ist etwas gehobenere Landesküche. Traditionell mit dem gewissen Extra. Definitv ein Geschmackserlebnis und zu empfehelen. Super Preis-leistungsverhältnis!

Visited for a Sunday lunch, excellent service and meal was AMAZING! I can highly recommend for children, my little girl (4) was welcomed and well catered for 10 out of 10! Thank you and we shall be returning for the upcoming tapas night!

Visited on Thursday as a family of 4 for dinner. The meal was fabulous. The produce was fresh and beautifully cooked. The presentation was lovely. The staff are always so helpful and friendly. Visited a few times with friends and also enjoyed a Tapas night - great food and good fun. If you want to ensure you receive a quality meal the Cross Keys is the place to visit.

The ribs just go for the ribs. Drove up from hull for my second visit to this great little pub ready to experience the ribs again. I must say I was a little nervous about it due to the first time I went the ribs where amazing so I was praying for the same quality. Needless to say I shouldn’t have been nervous as they where amazing and just as good as I remembered. A tiny bit crispy on the outside and melt in the mouth fall off the bone on the inside, with the most amazing mopped BBQ sauce. These are the best ribs I’ve ever had. Well done to chef. I will back for more and can’t wait.

When we visit family in Lincolnshire our preferred place for Sunday Lunch is the Cross Keys at Stow - however we visit on Friday night this time and found the menu disappointing and then my steak came undercooked and had to be returned to be cooked as ordered.

We used to visit this area 30 years ago when our kids were young and used to visit the CrossKeys then for the occasional meal and frequent drink. At that time it was always good quality food and service. Returning after many years, so glad to see that standards are as good as ever, maybe even better. Starters of Asparagus with bacon and quail egg and ham hock scotch egg, mains of haddock and chips and full rack of ribs, room only for one dessert of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. It is not often nowadays where you can say everything was perfect but this meal came as close as can be. Great friendly service from girl on bar and waitress serving the meals. Not the cheapest place but worth the extra!

Delicious vegan menu, with a mix of modern and traditional dishes. Loved the sticky toffee pudding. Vegans! Tell them you are coming and enjoy!

Found on Google maps and really enjoyed our £15 two course lunch. Great value and tasty food. Friendly welcome, nice touches such as star anise shortbread with coffee. Well maintained. Clean toilets. We both had whitebait and liver from Lunch menu, liver was pink, but we're asked if preferred we'll done. Lots of interesting events on, which would attend if we were local. Would go back if in the area.

We walked a couple of miles to this lovely pub in Stow and stopped for lunch on Saturday.

Managed to get a table in the already full restaurant. Although not a very extensive menu, it was varied and stimulated the taste buds. The meals for both of us were excellent. Soups and main course consisting of beef and mushroom pie with chips and the best of vegetables done to perfection. The sirloin steak was medium rare and just how it should be. The staff were excellent - attentive and accommodating. It is probably the best pub meal We have had in many a year and great value for money.

We had this place first recommended by the B&B; owner nearby and we had an excellent meal. Food is really good and for the quality the prices are not bad at all. Service great with friendly staff. Having returned last month we realise this is the usual standard. I have just e-mailed to ask if we can book again when we are visiting our lad at Uni in Lincoln in April.

I have been to this place before and decided to come back a year later to see if it was just as good.

My first visit to The Cross Keys, found it to be a warm and charming Inn, won't be our last visit. Greeted on arrival by the charming Ruth on the bar who went out of her way to help. Front of house was Hayley, Dawn & Chelsie who were all, extremely charming & attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The food was out of this world, not only was it exceedingly well cooked but there was plenty of it. A lovely menu with good choices at sensible prices. Our congratulations to all in the Kitchen

We are so lucky to live near the Cross Key and to have it as our local. The menu is fantastic - frequently changing specials and the pub classics my mum loves. The team are super friendly and welcoming.

Staff were lovely, food hot and tasty. Prices are reasonable. Have been coming here for years and never had cause to complain.

Went here for Sunday lunch , the food was Average ,the brandy sauce was very lumpy, with no taste at all of brandy.

I am the biggest fan of The Cross keys at Stow, and whenever we fancy a special treat, have an occasion to celebrate or just need a bit of a pick me up we head straight there.

Another excellent meal at The Cross Keys Stow. This is the place for fine dining and the best cheese soufflé ever . Steak was amazing tonight.

They run special nights on a Friday, usually once a month. We went last night to their Tapas night and the food was excellent, a great selection so something for everyone. A lovely evening enjoyed by all.

My wife and I hosted a private lunch party for 62 family and friends last week. Hayley and Dan could not have done more over the previous weeks of planning with their help and advice to ensure everything went well. Their constant enthusiasm was much appreciated; the Menu, exceptional food, wine, ambience were perfect making a very special time for us and all our guests. The following extracts from just some of their Emails and messages confirm how much they enjoyed the party, thanks to all at The Cross keys!

Our first visit. A very welcoming atmosphere, attractive decor. We were a party of 6. The only starter ordered was the souffle and it was delicious. We had 5 beef and 1 pork for our main course. The beef was served red which was fine for 3 of us but not the other 2. There was no problem returning the meat to be cooked through. The veg were divine - broccoli, carrots & beetroot - all heritage varieties and full of flavour.

We were staying in a nearby B+B (Bridleway) and the owner recommended this restaurant for an evening meal. The menu was slightly reduced as it was a Sunday, but we wanted the roast so that was fine. The meal was delicious. Everything was freshly made so while we waited they brought out complimentary bread and oils which were also very tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing, only downside was that we needed to share as we were so full from our mains.

We went to the cross keys to celebrate a birthday with family and every part of the evening was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Hayley is a star and tailored the evening perfectly - thank you. We have been coming here for over 20 years and it’s definitely the best it’s been!

Had lunch at this pub with friends and the service was outstanding. Very helpful and knowledgable waitress who guided us through the menu as to what was suitable for someone with food allergies. The short set menu was a little unusual in having liver pate as a starter and lambs liver as a main but the quality of everthing was fine.Paying the bill was also quick and easy with the automated bill. Would definately go again and highly recommend.

The Cross Keys is excellent . We have been on several occasions whilst visiting family in the area. The food is to die for and the friendliness of all the staff is second to none. We have tried various options on the menu and have never been disappointed at any time. Dan and Haley always make you feel welcome and take the time to say hello. I notice that you are hiring staff !!! i might apply Haley i'm quite good at making FALAFEL [only kidding] Looking forward to our next visit and would recommend this place to anybody looking for a FIRST CLASS meal.

If your fed up of feeling you've waisted your hard earned cash on poor quality meals? Then this is the place to visit. From their home made breads to sorbets, and the best locally sourced products. Plus friendly, well trained staff. You should never feel disappointed the Cross Keys experience. No1 in Lincolnshire!

We have eaten at the Cross Keys on many occasions and we can not fault the quality of food, the professionalism of the staff and the beautifully decorated interior. The food that Dan prepares, cooks and delivers is of an exceptional quality and thoroughly enjoyable. Hayley and the front of house team are always attentive but never intrusive and the whole experience is outstanding.

Ate a wonderful dinner with a bunch of girlfriends last night and everything was just perfect. The food was delectable and the service was, as usual, first class. Thanks to all of you at The Cross Keys.

Not one to write reviews but just felt compelled to praise this restaurant.

We had a lovely meal last night. I love eating at the cross keys. I'm very shocked about anything negative written. The whole team couldn't be more helpful. They are amazing at catering for allergies and my children never leave a scrap of food on their plates. The home made bread and oils is a lovely treat whilst waiting for your food (which isn't a long time). My son loves having the 1/2 rack of ribs, and my other son has the freshly made chicken goujons. We've had a variety of meals from the menu but my husband loves the cheese soufle. I love the home made sorbet and ice cream. I really do recommend a visit, then you can make your own decision. I am already planning another visit, Thanks to the whole team for never letting us down.

When we suddenly lost my mum in law there was only one place that we wanted to have the get together after the service. Despite it being one of their normal closed days, Dan and Haley did not hesitate to agree to host the event for us.

We walked 2 miles to eat at the cross keys. The starters were great but the mains were abysmal. Fried haddock that was dry, chewy and more skin than fish, chips which were mushy and more akin to poorly cooked roast potatoes. Risotto that was over cooked, mushy and underflavoured. We were hungry and ate it, it’s a long way home and even further to any other pub! I never give bad reviews to local businesses but I do like to tell them about it because I want them to succeed. I explained to the staff that I didn’t want anything except to let them know how disappointed we were. Well, our comments were totally brushed aside. “Nobody else has complained” “ I had the fish yesterday and it was great” “ we cant do anything now as we asked you at the beginning was everything alright” I didn’t want them to anything except listen.

I took my wife for dinner on her birthday. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very efficient. A truly enjoyable evening.

We asked Dan to cater for Mum's funeral because she always loved going to Cross Keys and we were absolutely thrilled with the afternoon tea buffet. Everything was delicious, so fresh and home-made. Comments were made to us by visiting guests, not only about the excellence of the food, but also about the friendliness of the staff and the setting.

Excellent hospitality and superb service at the Cross Keys. One of our party was gluten and wheat free and she was offered a wide choice of meals and chose the fish & chips which were delicious. All the courses were well presented and tasted delicious. Will certainly be paying another visit before too long.

We recently attended a celebration dinner at the Cross Keys. The whole place is very clean and the food was absolutely first class. Well worth a visit.

This is the second visit both been for Mother’s Day. Cannot fault the staff and the food varied and excellent.

Return to a favourite place for a family get-together. As always, the hospitality and service are perfect, and the food excellent. Set in a pretty village not far from Lincoln, The Cross Keys always holds the same high standards for both food and service. A pleasure to return here.

My self and my partner visited the cross keys on the 20.1.218 for a evening meal , we live in the area and eat out often . The staff was very friendly and the service was great . The food however was not of a very high standard . The vegetarian menu was very limited. My partner ordered a vegetarian Wellington dish it was lacking in favour and very lack lustre. We feel the prices don’t represent the quality which is a shame as being on our door step it would have been a place we would have visited on a regular basis.

We have just moved into the area and have been looking at places to eat. We picked out the Cross Keys for an evening out after New Year. What a great choice! Only 10 minutes from our house, easy to get to, easy parking. We went for 7pm on a Thursday evening. It was really quiet when we arrived but we loved the surroundings and were warmly welcomed. Guest beer was great and the wine selection broad and varied. Super menu - either a special or a la carte. I made the typical gluttons error and chose the full rack of ribs after great parsnip soup! I paled when the plate arrived! Delicious ribs in great sauce - just too much! But, service was superb, just the right mix of attention and allowing us to enjoy our meals. The remaining ribs were packed up and delicious for lunch the next day!

We couldnt get in here last year so booked early this time and have even bookked now for 2018 it has a good reputation staff very friendly the decorations were lovely

Food was absolutely fantastic. Couldn’t fault it. I had the pate and pie with the cheesecake desert and loved every course.

I would like to see more vegetarian dishes and more changes to the menu but the food is good. We, The Dog Walkers Book Club, had a lovely lunch.

Having moved to the area within the last 6 months we are delighted to have found this gem. Service is always excellent and friendly and the choice from the main menu or specials board is always interesting and the set menu is great value.The quality of the food is not only down to excellent produce but also due to the perfect execution of each dish and the homemade bread is a treat.

Excellent Sunday lunch for a family birthday. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was, as ever, excellent !

We had an excellent Sunday lunch. Staff were very accommodating of my elderly mother, enabling her to construct a main course from mains and starter components.

A small but perfectly formed menu of delicious-sounding dishes causes a problem when it comes to deciding what to have as they all sounded divine. The crab tian was sublime and my Thai Squash Curry was the perfect antidote to this autumnal day.
