Thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch. Helpful and chatty staff and pleasant surroundings. A first for us but we will be back.

Terrific Village Pub, wonderful hosts - Dawn & Gareth, nothing too much trouble. Roaring Fire, lovely Sunday Lunch, small Bar with Pool Table & Darts. We stayed in one of their two Rooms, pristine throughout.

Mine hosts Dawn & Gareth are so friendly and welcoming they make you feel at home , the food is exceptional and served with a friendly smile.

Fantastic Christmas Sunday roast. Hosts and Staff very friendly. Great value for money menu. Couldn't fault the food. Would highly recommend. 10 out of 10. Deffo going back.

It was my mothers 80th birthday and there were 15 of us to celebrate it for Sunday lunch, the food was perfect, the service was impeccable even though there was one greedy man who won’t be named (it was Don btw), Dawn and her team looked after us amazingly, definitely a go to place, will definitely be going back

The Cross Keys now have a weekly specials menu Was fortunate enough to get a table and had the mixed grill It was fantastic value for money And the highest of standards There was nothing that could have been added to make it any better Quite simply perfect

What a wonderful find, arriving 5.30 on a Friday night without booking. Although fully booked for the evening the very friendly landlady managed to squeeze us in. The food was delicious, very well presented, plentiful and excellent value. A proper traditional pub, very welcoming and friendly with fantastic food to boot. What more can you ask for? A real hidden gem.

We had excellent food that was perfectly presented and efficiently served by the young waitress. Beer was local bitter that was spot on . Merlot was good too. Starters were halloumi chips , cheesy garlic bread and garlic mushrooms all were excellent. Mains were prawn linguine. Chicken and black pudding and the bean and sweet potato chilli again super tasty and nicely presented. The atmosphere is so friendly and the pub is spotlessly clean. The landlord and landlady go out of their way to make you welcome. This was a super night…thank you.

First time in cross keys last night,definitely won’t be the last! We were welcomed very warmly by the people who own the pub,so very rare these days,to find a real pub . Spotlessly clean,good quality drinks ,not overpriced either. We had booked a table for the four of us and were seated and given the menus …lovely friendly young waitress served us. We all ordered the garlic prawn starters which were delicious. Our mains were salmon,haddock,and two chicken and bury black pudding.absolutely gorgeous food,again reasonably priced and not standard pub food,like so many places nowadays. A rare ,real pub,well done to all concerned 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

We were recommended to go by some friends, we were not disappointed. Excellent food and the beer is fab, the Guinness is on par with the Irish black stuff. The owners are really nice and friendly.We are returning in September and will definitely be visiting again.

An excellent roast dinner, with lovely friendly staff snd nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back to try their other menu.

We visited for Sunday lunch a couple of Sunday's ago and the welcome could not have been warmer. We visited as a party of 8 people for Sunday lunch which I can only describe as outstanding. There was a fabulous selection of meats which you could mix and match and a separate dish of fresh vegetables. What topped it for me was the masses of gravy and the fact that all of the meals arrived at the same time and piping hot. Hats off to the chef for the amazing food! The desserts were fabulous and my cheese board was superb. Thank you to the landlady and landlord who made us feel so so welcome. Superb meal at this cosy country pup. I had the tempura prawns and black pudding starter which was excellent. Our main meals were the salmon and duck and they were cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend this welcoming country pub.

Can recommend the food and service as being of high quality. We had the Duck - delicious and Gammon steak (thick cut) which came with pineapple and fried egg. Do great chunky chips. Cheese cake was delicious and not too sweet. Service was pleasant and fast. Go to pub for a good meal and service with a smile.

I’ve driven passed this pub so many times, but never visited it until last night. And I’m so glad I did! Such a friendly place to go for something to eat. My party consisted of 4 adults and a 4 week old baby. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food is fantastic (burger was top quality and my prawn and black pudding starter also very good). We’ll definitely be visiting again (in fact we’re going back on Sunday for lunch!). If you’re looking for excellent quality freshly prepared food then you won’t be disappointed.

Found this pub whilst staying nearby. The quality of the food coupled with the friendly staff made this the best value for money and quality I have found anywhere. My wife had the sirloin steak and I had the salmon. Both meals were piping hot, beautifully served by a very polite waitress. The taste and quality were unsurpassed and the chef obviously knew his trade and should be highly commended. The ale was spot on and the cost of the meal and drinks was very reasonable. To be honest I would have gladly paid more.Well done to everyone concerned.

Many many years since we visited this establishment so delighted with what we found. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu was good with ample mouth watering choices. Food was delicious and well presented. All in all a really enjoyable experience. Service and food excellent. Always a warm welcome. Fish and chips were delicious. Lovely light batter and the chips were so incredibly delicious. I highly recommend a visit.

Last night 3 of us ordered the seafood linguine. It is one of my favourite dishes and I have eaten it in many different restaurants all over the world. Last night all 3 of us agreed that without a shadow of a doubt it was the best seafood linguine we have ever eaten. Wow! Our plates were just brimming with a variety of tasty seafood and we had to ask for more bowls for the muscle shells as there were that many in our dish. It was all served in a very spicy chilli sauce which was absolutely delicious. We followed this with a devine slice of homemade cheesecake which we all thoroughly enjoyed. I can't recommend the food in the Cross highly enough. Absolutely superb! The service was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for our lovely waitress and our fabulous hostess Dawn. All in all a 5 star experience.

The selection is limited but still really nice food. I had the 5 bean chilli which I loved but my partner thought it was too hot. Avoid the kids burgers they are the heavy fatty burgers neither of my kids like. Still well worth a visit as the staff are lovely and I enjoyed the whole experience

We are lucky as this is our local pub! You will always receive a warm welcome from the owners and the food is always among the best in the local area.Without doubt it is the best place for Sunday lunch in the area, and the menu served the rest of the week, changes regularly, giving so many choices it can be difficult to decide what to have. We eat here regularly and have never been disappointed. Nothing is too much trouble and you are guaranteed a fantastic meal. The only problem is we rarely have room for desert

Me and the better half just called in as I had read the reviews here 9n trip advisor.I have to say all the reviews were right. Great welcome from landlord, quick service and I had the most succulent and delicious homemade burger with crispy bacon, Shropshire blue cheese and triple cooked chips that were perfect. The missus had a salmon fillet, dill sauce, dauphinoise potatoes and broccoli.The landlady served it up and she was delightful and they had Queen videos on the screen to make my day. Altogether a stop well worth making a detour to is you're passing on the A55. Thank you crosskeys, enjoyed your food, hospitality and music

Popped in for a quiet drink with a friend and what a shock. Place was full Thursday evening quiz night, everyone very friendly,beer lovely and staff super friendly. Not overly expensive for a small pub. Had a quick look at the food menu and the choice was excellent and price not bad. Will be back to try food in the near future.

Been here a few time's staff always friendly and cannot do enough for you the food is always hot and tasty would reccomend to go here and will be going again.

Me and my partner came here tonight for a meal we were a bit sceptical at the start but wow did they deliver! As soon as we walked in the owners made us feel very welcome and had a chat we than sat down and the drinks were well priced. I had the pate to start which is the best pate I have tasted restaurant wise and I had hunters chicken for main which was amazing. My partner had the cod for his and he remarked that it was really nice. Will definitely be coming again absolute five star pub.

The minute we walked through the door there was a lovely friendly atmosphere. We then Had a lovely meal. I started with the halloumi and the serving was extremely generous and it tasted amazing! For main I had hunter chicken which was lovely and juicy with lovely crispy onion rings! It was the best menu I’ve seen in ages with lots of choice! The most tasty food I’ve had in ages! What completed the evening was the lovely landlady who served us! Will be coming back soon!

This is my third visit to the CROSS KEYS and it just gets better every time , the apartment we stayed in was amazing , breakfast items ( bread , yoghurt , orange juice , crumpets , butter plus tea coffee and sugar were all supplied , it has a toaster and microwave so all you need for a great breakfast . The staff ( Dawn and Gareth) in the pub are brilliant , so polite and attentive , nothing is too much trouble .The food here is the best pub food i have had , the chef is great ! I highly recommend this place for food , drinks and a the apartments would be perfect for a touring base of North Wales , Cheshire and beyond .I will be back without question !!!!!!!!!!

Another of our new locations, recommended by a family friend.Welcomed to a nice table in a cozy room with a lovely warm fire.Not a great menu choice - but it was Sunday special.The best choice was the 3 meat option - Beef, Turkey and Pork. (Gluten-free optional)Vegetables are excellent - and the service really good.Clean plates all round - says it all.

Just called into this lovely pub with my family was greeted by friendly staff even the barman made me a lager&bitter; mix we were sorted for a table but in future make sure you book if you go in peak meal sitting times the food in general was amazing four different meals to prepare all came out same time even my extra side of onion rings we all struggled to finish our meals, definitely be going back again very soon

Run by hard working and friendly hosts. All sorts going on and they now also have an excellent chef. Great atmosphere and is very much an ideal local for the Villagers. If your not local or just passing through its well worth a visit.

We had been recommended to visit this pub/diner for some time and as it was my Birthday we took the plunge.

We have just enjoyed a lovely meal with our friends at the cross keys. The food was wonderful, nicely presented and cooked to perfection. The welcome and service was outstanding. We will be back to sample the other delights on the menu. A must if you enjoy good food and good service. Thank you for making our evening.

It’s a long time since I have been in this pub as we moved to a nearby village, I had heard some good reports from friends so decided to get together with these friends I eat her. We weren't disappointed, it was fabulous .

Had a great meal on Wednesday evening, the landlady was very accommodating as we hadn’t booked. The food was excellent, lovely village pub, would definitely recommend trying this local.

I took my 14 year old son out for a meal last night and this morning hes still talking about the great night we had. Upon arrival we were put at ease and made to feel welcome with the owners interacting with myself and my son. A really friendly atmosphere and despite being busy we were soon both seated for our meals. With a great menu, plenty of choice being well priced we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Id recommend the Cross Keys to all, be it a groups of friends, couples and families alike. Many thanks for a wonderful night.

Had a lovely meal tonight with friends, I’ve never been to the cross keys before, but will definitely go back. Very nice food and the service was great! The people that served us were the owners I think and they were very nice and friendly, which made the visit! thank you both.

It's so nice to have a pub like this where you live. We have been here twice but this was the first time we have had a roast dinner here. There was 8 of us who had the roast 2 being children and we all really enjoyed it. The meat selection was great, plenty of food and even a little bit of room for pudding.

I went today for Sunday lunch with family, I live in Gosport so I don’t get up that often so I thought going to the pub that I started drinking at many years ago would be a good idea. Myself and family weren’t disappointed, Dawn (proprietor) has/is doing a fantastic job (and I’m not saying that because I’ve known her for just over 40 years...she’ll kill me for that btw) the food was fantastic, the service was spot on, I would highly recommend the Cross Keys in Sychdyn for any kind of visit, even if you just want a quick pint. Loved it!!

Everyone must try this superb establishment for the finest food in the area.

This is the second visit to this friendly, country pub in the last 2 weeks. The landlady and landlord are such down to earth people who make you feel like you are regulars. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is AMAZING! Hearty, tasty food, the portions are fab so it’s difficult to choose on a 2 course option whether to have starter and main or main and dessert as it’s so filling! We as a family love good food and I would highly recommend a visit

This has always been my local favourite village Pub, despite no longer living in the Village. You always receive a warm and friendly welcome, with Gareth and Dawn, the best of hosts.

we booked a table at the cross keys and, without a shadow of a doubt, it was one of the best meals that we’d tasted. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, the chips were to die for. Everything was cooked from scratch and tasted amazing. My dessert was a homemade cheesecake which was wonderful. Each dish was a decent sized portion, not the skimpy dishes usually associated with an outstanding chef. We both left absolutely stuffed. very reasonably priced too. Dawn made us feel very welcome and attended our every need.

After a busy day at work we decided to go out locally for tea to the Cross Keys in Sychdyn, Dawn reserved a table for us before the quiz night started, and it was a brilliant evening, the food was excellent my wife had a vegetarian dish, one of the nicest she’s ever had, and I had steak, and the chef knows how to cook a steak! All the food was cooked to perfection, well presented and good value for money, I would highly recommend the food and service and will definitely be booking again!

Called in as we had been recommended this place. Had a really nice meal and were made to feel very welcome. Had to wait a little while but everything was fresh made from scratch. Will definitely go back.

Enjoyed an excellent meal with friends this evening in a friendly atmosphere there was plenty of choice on the menus to meet everyone needs at very reasonable prices. All the meals were freshly prepared and of an excellent quality. We will definitely be booking again and trying the Sunday lunch.

Have been going here for a while for drinks after horse riding and always talked about offering food which has finally come to fruition.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago. Food was fantastic and the children’s meals (fish and chips for my 2) were so fresh. The cheesecake is to die for ..... if you have room :-) we have already booked in advance to bring family for a meal.

I was so glad when the Andy became the chef in the Cross Keys three weeks ago and have eaten there every week since. Combine Andy's excellent food with the warm friendly service from Dawn and Gareth and you can't go wrong. Sychdyn has needed this for a long time. The only thing that worries me is I will have to book weeks in advance once the word gets out.

We visited here for a family meal and few drinks and what can I say!!! Absolutely fantastic service nothing was too much, food was out of this world big portions and reasonably priced.

Visited on a very busy Saturday evening, a very warm welcome was awaiting us followed by fabulous food which i could not fault and was beautifully presented. Will definitely be returning soon.

Just a warning to any potential customers with children, apparently there is a ‘ no children ‘ policy after 9pm, however, there are no signs to this effect within the establishment and we were not informed by the landlord who served us further drinks at 850pm. It seemed that the only beneficiaries of this so called ‘in house’ policy were the ‘regulars’ who wanted ‘their’ table and chairs back.. Won’t be back in a hurry though I doubt whether occasional visitors are welcome anyway even if they do live in the village.

Just had the most amazing meal here! I had a vegetarian option of sweet potato and chick pea cheese bake with seasonal vegetables and honeyed parsnips, sticky honey and walnut cheesecake for pudding! My sister had gammon, pineapple and the best chunky chips ever! Wild berry and apple crumble and ice cream for pudding! One of the best meals ever!

Had a fabulous meal in this friendly local village pub! Our first time dining here after the new chef, Adam, taking over the kitchen. Will definitely not be our last. So impressed wth the quality of the food for the price we paid. Nice to feel you're not being ripped off! Lovely friendly and attentive staff who couldn't do enough for us. One of the hidden gems of mold ,a superb chef starting on 6th October, I would book to avoid disappointment

I was here about 9 months ago and returned last weekend , before these two visits I hadn't been to this pub for 20 years and what a change , it has had a full refurb of the inside and it looks superb. Also the old cellar has been converted to two holiday flats , this is where we stayed and they are great, the decor was absolutely fantastic . Facilities in the room were good , there was breakfast food provided , crumpets , cereal and croissants . Tea coffee milk and sugar were also supplied ! Overall this place was brilliant and the hosts Dawn and Gareth were great and so friendly . My wife and I will be returning as soon as possible !

Recommended by a colleague to stay while working nearby. Owners Dawn and Gareth made my stay the most welcoming. Stayed in one of the newly converted flats. Tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable, a home from home. Enjoyed both food and beverages in the bar, but have to point out the ambiance afforded and the welcome from both owners and locals. Made it very hard to leave. Will definitely be returning for a holiday as ideally situated to explore the surrounding countryside and towns. Loved every minute.
