Steve and the girls made my stay great, rooms are very nice and comfy, decent pub grub , decent price food and drink. Definitely stay every time I'm in Cardiff. Strongly recommend the croft.

Fantastic old pub just how a pub should be friendly staff and friendly locals good prices too great place to have a day out drinking

Visited the Croft’s 11/01/2020 friendly welcoming staff, great pub , good selection of drinks. Spoke to Steve (landlord) about booking a room, I was given a tour of the hotel, spotlessly clean well appointed room, light and airy. Fully intend staying here.

Yo mismo, mi hijo de 8 años y mi amigo 2 nos hospedamos en el Croft por una noche el 15 de junio. La casera nos hizo sentir como viejos amigos. Todo el personal era absolutamente encantador. El pub era muy acogedor y antes de que nos fuéramos el domingo tuvimos la cena asada asada más increíble. Gran precio por la cantidad de comida en mi plato. Ojalá hubiera tenido espacio para el postre. En mi próxima estancia de una noche en Cardiff, haré la primera llamada de Croft con la esperanza de que tengan una habitación para mí. De principio a fin 5 estrellas.

He estado aquí un par de veces durante las últimas semanas, en primer lugar para un asado para el cumpleaños de nuestros hijos, excelente comida. En segundo lugar, ver a Liverpool en la Final de la Liga de Campeones: no es un gran partido, pero hay mucho espacio para ver y precios de cerveza muy razonables, así como algunas grandes bromas. No hay duda en recomendar y ahora es un pub con algunas habitaciones muy bonitas.

Cuando volví a visitar un rato, no estaba contento con la salsa desde entonces, ha habido un regreso masivo a la forma y la comida es increíble gracias a Lorraine y al personal, trabajaron y la comida siempre es un recordatorio de un almuerzo de domingo hecho en casa. mi madre

Esta fue una experiencia fabulosa desde el check in hasta el check out! ¡Lorraine fue una anfitriona estupenda y superó nuestras expectativas más salvajes! La habitación fue cuidadosamente renovada e impecable con todas las comodidades modernas de un resort de 5 estrellas. ¡No podemos esperar a volver! La experiencia de pub fue más allá de la descripción. Lorraine era encantadora y los clientes locales muy coloridos.

Don't be put off that there's not that much going on. It's a quiet locals pub and the beer is really cheap. They've got a beautiful resident cat, dog and a cheeky parrot. Outside the hustle and bustle it's like having a quiet drink in your living room. I think they are converting upstairs into hotel accommodation it would be a perfect place to stay

Visite aquí para comer el Carvery con bastante frecuencia y nunca estamos decepcionados con la calidad, el servicio o el precio. Estuvimos allí cuando el puesto de chef estaba encendido y una vez más no nos decepcionó, todavía de alta calidad. Lo visitaría aquí Wether Lorraine o el puesto en el chef nosotros cocinando!

Normalmente canto totalmente las alabanzas de este asador, el cocinero normal estaba ausente hoy. ¿Quién hizo la salsa se debe disparar, ya que es muy picante, moqueante y arruinó por completo la comida y el cordero estaba mal cocinado y sin sabor. Normalmente nuestros platos estarían limpios. Pero no hoy.

Hired their room for a party yesterday. Really good value, free juke box and friendly helpful staff. Nice space...highly recommended :)

Reservamos una mesa para el almuerzo del domingo con nuestro hijo y su novia. Nos recibieron al llegar y enseguida nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. Había tres carnes en oferta y la carne estaba disponible raro, mediano o bien hecho: las raciones eran generosas y la comida era excelente.

El asador fue increíble! Una gran variedad de verduras, generosas porciones de carne, los mejores budines de Yorkshire que he tenido en mucho tiempo y la salsa norteña estaba feliz de beber.

The Crofts está escondido en un estrecho vecindario cerca de Newport Road. Nos topamos con eso y fuimos a tomar una pinta refrescante. En el interior encontramos un pequeño pub encantador con un guardián encantador. Había un loro, un perro y un gato negro. El gato estaba sentado en el bar de un taburete y le dio al lugar tal personalidad. ¡Ese gato nos vendió! La pinta y el ambiente también fueron geniales. Volvimos a este lugar varias veces. Rara vez estaba lleno de gente y siempre tenía un ambiente agradable, tranquilo y familiar.

Everything perfect. Staff friendly and helpful.Food outstanding and fresh.Great selection of well kept beers. Nothing else to say,just give it a visit. Far,far,superior than The C*d*r Tr** Farm,in Grangetown.

Este tiene que ser uno de los mejores lugares para asados de domingo en Cardiff. Una opción de tres carnes (cerdo, ternera o cordero de Turquía con una opción cada semana) y un mínimo de siete tipos diferentes de verduras frescas con Yorkies, relleno de queso, coliflor para morirse y caseras salsa. Primera! Acceso minusválidos geniales, familias se aceptan mascotas bajo control. El loro residente Crofty merece una visita también. Personal amable y servicial.

This "out of the way" pub serves outstanding Sunday lunches! Definitely worth a try I had the roast beef and roast pork which was cooked to perfection. The roast potatoes and veg were hot and tasty We will be back

Muy buena noche de salida pasamos con amigos y un gran personal. Los precios son razonables para comida y bebida. El ambiente es calmante con hasta 3 diferentes pub animales. Un gato llamado Cat. Un perro llamado Oscar y un Loro gris llamado Crofty. Recomiendo el fontanero.

Best sunday roast by far..All fresh veg..yorkshire pudding &gravy; to die for..&its; carvery.fantastic value for money

I went for sunday lunch with friends after being told we would get fresh plentiful food at very reasonable prices . I wasnt disappointed the food was excellent good choice of 3 roasts . I had the beef there was a choice of rare or well done i went for the rare which was nice and pink I also had some lamb as well which was delicious.There were lots of choice of fresh vegetables , roast or boiled potatos yorkshire puddings and gravy .This was replenished regularly to ensure freshness . The surroundings were spotless No sticky tables ! It is dog friendly which as a dog lover was good to know . We booked as it does get busy , the staff were friendly and heloful . I would definatly go again as food was excellent . Puddings were also really good .

There has never been a time that the carvery has not been absolutely gorgeous. And seems to go from strength to strength. I have yet to try there weekly fair but if Sunday lunch is anything to go by it will be fantastic. Highly recommend this place if u love good food and a nice atmosphere.

The Crofts Pub is just a short walk from where I work on Newport Road, and that coupled with the name (see my surname), suggests I should visit even more often.It was built in 1957, replacing the Crofts Hotel that dated back to 1867 that was destroyed during the Blitz. They used to have a lovely old Staffordshire Bull Terrier - my favourite breed!The Crofts is a free house with several ales and lagers on draught. They have a nice "bar" menu, and do a Sunday carveryIt is a deceptively large pub and there is a really nice function room (available for hire) a skittle alley, a "smokers Marquee" and alfresco patio area with a piano!Good old pub - not like a chain.

I have eaten Sunday lunch at the Crofts several times, either with my husband or friends/family. Took my Mum & Dad and sister and brother-in-law there today. They are all in agreement that the food is excellent and all tastes like home cooked. Lorraine serves up the meat of your choice then you help yourself to the veg. A large choice is always available, and is refilled regularly by the hardworking kitchen staff. I like the atmosphere too, nice and relaxed and the staff are all friendly. This is always my first choice if I am going to have a Sunday lunch out, its cheaper than buying the stuff and cooking it yourself!

We held our daughter's wedding reception at The Crofts and couldn't have picked a better place. The staff were fantastic and did everything possible to make the day a success. Lorraine worked hard to provide the lovely food and there was plenty of it!Nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was great. The hard working staff at The Crofts really did help to make it a day to remember.

The hardworking and efficient ladies on view in the kitchen knock up an amazing Sunday lunch. Choice of roast meat with as much vegetables as you fit on to your plate. Optional range of home-made desserts. Great value.

What a great traditional pub, had the pleasure of New Years Eve at this super community watering hole. A great mix of people ranging from very young to old. Mark had marshalled his staff to keep the revellers well stocked up and never empty and our gracious host and owner Steve was pulling the strings making sure everything run smoothly and everyone had a great time. Cardiff at its best!!!!

I took my team here for a Saturday lunch time carvery. The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxing but what really shines for The Croft is Lorraine's service skills. Nothing is too much trouble. She is super efficient and friendly. One lady catering for 26 people is no easy task but it was done perfectly. Reasonably priced great quality wine is a boon. We will be back!This has to be Cardiff's best kept secret.

Good to see this pub doing a brisk trade in Sunday lunch and it wasn't bad either! The only blip was having to wait for more sprouts, but overall a very nice dinner at an affordable price with friendly, courteous service that in itself, goes a long way. Would recommend.

Our wedding reception was amazing, Lorraine went out of her way to make it special. Even finding specific flowers after we struggled to get any. The buffet was lovely, we had two, one for kids and one for adults, again, Lorraine did a fantastic job. We hired a DJ and there was more than enough room for everyone.Our guests constantly told us what a great night it was. The games room attached to the function room was a great place for the children, they never got bored and kids and adults played pool, skittles and air hockey together.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Crofts. Thank you for an amazing and memorable evening.

Lorraine and her team make an excellent Sunday carvery. It is really popular and usually packed. It's a cut above your average carvery with an excellent choice of meat and veg (very tender lamb!). The gravy is fab as are the desserts. On top of this it's reasonable in terms of price and there is a really friendly atmosphere. I recommend booking as word has spread about this place. I've also tried their food in the week and it is just as good.

Proper pub's pub. Decent local and a really nice beer garden out the back. If you're local try it out if it's sunny!

I haven't visited The Crofts for quite a while. Since my last visit for Sunday lunch, they have opened the restaurant on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. I visited this evening with my sister and her partner and we had one of the best meals we have had in a long while. I had gammon, which was served with grilled or roasted cherry toms, peas, chips, onion rings and salad. My sister and her partner had fillet steaks with the same sides. Meals were served on red hot plates, which pleased us, as there is nothing worse than food served on cold plates. My sister had a home made pepper sauce, which was a close call to my own! These lovely meals were cooked by Lorraine, who is always eager to please and get things just right. We were served by a lovely chap, who I apologise for forgetting his name. The ambience was great, dimmed lights & candles, with show tunes playing in the background. A lovely evening. Thanks guys :-)

Love it here, staff are amazing! Everyone made welcome, nothing too much trouble. Chilax after work or great Sunday lunch.

Recently turned up with out reservation for Sunday lunch.Made very welcome whilst we waited for vacant table.Well worth the small wait.Fabulous beef man size helpings.Recommended.

Me and my girlfriend have been here a few times - mostly to the Sunday carvery and once this past weekend to the Restaurant - and we've been meaning to leave a review for a while. It's really a lovely pub; good beer, good prices, games room, an adorable pub parrot. But the food is where it really shines. The carvery is excellent, with a great choice of meats with the veg being cooked well and regularly refreshed. And the restaurant is of a very high standard. We took my parents round while they were visiting - 2 of us had steaks/lamb chops from the grill menu, the other two chose from the a la carte menu. I had fillet of lamb neck stuffed with dried fruit with a potato rosti and port sauce, which was divine. My mum opted for poached salmon which she very much enjoyed.It's tucked away on a side street away from the bright lights of City Road but it's well worth tracking down. The staff are lovely and accommodating and it's well set out for disabled access - my mum requires a wheelchair and had no issues. We'll be back soon I'm sure.

What a treat it was to have been taken to the Crofts Sunday Carvery for fathers day.The food was excellent with a choice of Welsh Roast Lamb, Roast Beef and Roast Turkey accompanied by a great selection of vegetables. One of my daughters who is a bit of a Lamb connoisseur commented it was the best she'd had in years. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for our party of 10. This is a great venue and is a traditional community pub which are few and far between these days. I see they have opened a restaurant Thurs/Fri and Sat. Can't wait to try it. Downside, i had to pay.....

We had an age group of 7-79 and everybody was catered for, nothing was too much trouble, with the locals happy to move tables to accommodate our large party and the landlord happy to shift things around for us.The food was very tasty with a good range of veg, and all the staff were friendly and genuinely happy to help, a big plus, was it was great value for money, we all enjoyed it and can't wait to get back there.It was really nice to be in what is clearly a community pub, it deserves to be a success, as these are hard to come by nowadays........

This was our third visit and for what you pay, this is excellent value and good food with a great selection of veg to go with the carvery. I believe they are extending the offering to a restaurant opening on Thursday, Friday's and Saturdays. Well, we can certainly recommend the carvery.The building has some history with a visit by Churchhill during WW2. Owner is having a real go in the community and well worth supporting.

First time here for what was a very busy Mothers Day lunch. Food was good quality and there was plenty of it. Popular place locally so I would recommend booking in advance. Well worth a visit. The owner is making sure that this project is part of the local community.Recommended.

I am such a fuss pot about Sunday Carvery, but I have to say, this is one of the best. The staff are friendly and it is so clean. It sort of takes me back in time when I visit, there is something old fashioned and homely about the place, especially when you see the local priest and his dog sat down to lunch! :-)Off there today for my Mother's Day lunch.....can't wait for that lovely beefy gravy Mmmm!! :-)

Have been to the Crofts a number of times with a number of friends. This week there were about thirty of us. If you do this you must book in advance and expect that not all your starters, and not all your mains, will come out at the same time, so keep talking and enjoying yourselves as you wait. The food is excellent, piping hot, good portions, and well served. Although in an area of terraced housing streets, it's still good to have the large patio style doors open in the summer. There is on street parking and we always find a place even though some of the surrounding parking is residents only. The Crofts is very near City Road but is a lot quieter, and less rushed than some of the eating places there, it is also within walking distance from the City Centre.
