Fantastic Thai food in a stunning location. The team are always very friendly and helpful, often squeezing us in at the last minute. The food is great and we’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried (often trying new dishes on the recommendation of Chris and Nat). We’re very lucky to have such high quality Thai food in Speyside!

This was our 3rd visit to the Croft Inn and it just gets better every time. The restaurant is cosy, unique, friendly and not too far to go. The most difficult thing is choosing what to have from the menu as everything is soooo good Freshly cooked using local ingredients as far as possible. Tonight's special - wild duck red thai curry was to die and I was sorely tempted to order 2nds instead of dessert 😘 would certainly recommend

We visited the area and saw this before we came...we had read the reviews and were looking forward to going for Dinner. We booked for Sunday 19th Nov. The food was the best Thai we have ever had! The welcome We received was second to none. We returned on the Thursday for Whisky sampling.... Never before have we felt so welcomed. We will follow you guys closely on social media and hope to return.

WOW is all we can say! We went for a SPECTACULAR MEAL today at The Croft Inn, Glenlivet - the meal was “THE BEST” Thai food we have eaten anywhere. Nat’s passion in using the best fresh (home grown) produce into a visual spectacle & a taste sensation 💕 Naturally I felt I had to try a cocktail & the choice was terrific ………. we will be back. Nat & Chris - thank you so much the warm welcome & a very memorable afternoon 💕

One of our group found The Croft Inn by Googling. We stopped by to see if they could fit us in for dinner on a very busy, quite rainy Saturday night. We were promptly given a great table in the bar by owner Chris and welcomed as if we were family members. Mario the barkeep made outstanding whiskey recommendations. Nat the chef prepared one of the best Thai meals I’ve ever had: green curry chicken with coconut rice and a delicious array of appetizers, including satay and spicy neep salad. (a Scottish twist.) The Croft Inn is warm, cozy, and delightful. If I lived nearby, I would eat there every day.

A real hidden gem. Simply outstanding thai food in a setting where you’d least expect it. Chris, Nat and tuktik are amazing hosts. We’ve been back several times and will continue to do so. Amazing

A fantastic meal, got to be the first diner to try the new venison dish...and superb! we enjoyed the meal, the setting and the hospitality so much we immediately booked a table for the following night. (top tip go for the prawn soup starter... thank me later!) There is spice aplenty if you want it, quality ingredients and a team that clearly cares a great deal about their art. Great advice on what to choose and Chris even took me to see his bike as a fellow biker! The chef came and chatted over their dishes and wanted feedback but needs none, every dish was beautiful. If you are nearby and don't visit you are doing your taste buds a disservice.

We were staying locally and came for dinner and so glad that we did! The food was absolutely amazing, nothing was too much. It is all freshly cooked so they were able to adjust the menu and make it vegetarian easily and without a fuss. The flavours were amazing, the portions were very generous and the atmosphere was lovely. The host was so friendly and welcoming. Fascinating to her him talk about setting the business up. What an outstanding establishment this is. So relaxed and quirky and the owner Chris and his partner the chef Nat are so welcoming and chatty. The food is nothing short of excellent and we all enjoyed it thoroughly. I would recommend it to anyone in the vicinity, you will not be disappointed. An absolute gem in the middle of nowhere. Finally we managed a visit to The Croft and we're so glad we did. Chris and Nat have transformed a tired country pub into a thriving business providing excellent home cooked Thai food with a Scottish twist with hospitality to match. What a triumph. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We stay local and have been meaning to visit for years. Finally made it tonight and how I wish we'd gone sooner - food, service, ambiance, all excellent...and the personal intro to the resident felines just sealed the experience. We'll definitely be back...

Lovely Inn, very welcoming and gorgeous home made food. Also a good choice of vegetarian options I ordered a butternut squash main which was lovely. My other half ordered haggis bon bons to start followed by a rich beef and ale pie with chips he enjoyed both and said they were delicious.

I found this little place after reading about it on Tripadvisor - glad we did as we ate here twice. On both occasions that we ate here our meals were delicious and always well prepared. My husband particlularly enjoyed the haggis bon bons with the whisky sauce!As it's quite small I would recommend booking just in case.It's such a pity - given all the precautions that they have in place re COVID - that it was having to close down for at least 2 weeks due to the latest Scottish govt rules.Hopefully they - like all businesses large and small - will be open again soon.

a very pleasant pub restaurant operating within covid guidelines, we had starters salmon and haggis bon bons, followed by venison meatballs and chicken with parma ham stuffed with leaks, apple tart to finish with lashings of cream, with a good whiskey bar

Fantastic food, great beer, friendly staff. Super dog friendly.Came here with out dog and the staff had really put us. A perfect spot in the bar where people wouldn’t keep walking past the dog, so he settled super quick. Brilliant work.Good food (recommend the venison and cranachan for pudding) and try The Croft Ale. If you’re in the area, go!

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, this tastefully restored inn, once a paupers house, is full off character and charm. And that is only the start of your enjoyment here. The welcome we recieved from Alan and Helena and their staff was wonderful, and by the time we came away from the Cairngorms, we felt like old friends.Excellent ale (A pint of Croft a day, keeps the midges away), delcious food, and a wide range of excellent whiskies (as recommended by Alan) helped to make what was already a fabulous trip, all the more special.By the time we headed home, we were sad to leave the area and this gem of an inn. We will be heading back to that area as soon as we can, and our first stop will be the excellent Croft inn, to catch up with our new friends and watch the world go by from our corner table.

Having booked a cottage in Glenlivet we decided to book the local restaurant, the Croft Inn, we were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the drinks selection was superb and the service was absolutely wonderful. The waitress was so friendly, and due to the fact we were running late and taxis are hard to come by, the owner came and picked us up, great service from a lovely lady. Can't recommend this place enough, quality food and friendly service, spot on!!!!

The food was fantastic. The haggis Bon Bon starters were amazing and the cock a leeks chicken was fantastic. So was the home made chips and battered fish. If I am ever back in Moray I will definitely visit here.

Was in communication with Helena and Alan for many weeks planning a family meal for my wife’s 40th birthday. They answered everything I had to ask and on the day both were present, Helena having popped in when she was supposed to be off just to greet us on arrival. The meal was excellent with our party ordering a wide variety of starters and mains which all tasted delicious. We were served by Catriona who looked after us all night. A very cosy environment with lovely views. The perfect birthday meal. Thanks again.

The holiday homes are fantastic. Clean very comfortable and warm. The restaurant serves delicious food staff are friendly and efficient. The owners are very informative and really nice. I can't recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back

Stopped here due for a breakfast with my wife and dog ..... real warm welcome from the owner and his staff were really well mannered and helpful .... food was great both if us had the cooked breakfast .. wife opting for "the croft" and i chose "the highlander" ... both hwere very good ...Would highly recommend and will be calling back when I am back in the area ... added bonus being dog friendly .... well done guys ...

Tasty, hearty portions of yummy locally sourced and interesting food (haggis bon bons, salmon and venison meatballs are must-try!), place run by people who care about their guests, and broad selection of whiskies representing the Glenlivet estate and the local region. We went back 3 times to sample most of the menu!For sweet toothed people, apple pie and lemon tart are worth trying too :)

Lovely little place with a great selection of food, drinks, beer and malt whisky. Helena and Alan couldn't have been nicer and were happy to accommodate any dietary requirements - a rareity in these parts! Top it off with a beautiful dog, Glen, and this is somewhere I'd be happy to return to anytime.

Great selection of local beers, malt whisky and delicious, hearty dishes made with local produce. Helena, Alan and Catriona are superb hosts, all very warm and welcoming, highly attentive and quick to put everyone at ease by following the highest standard of COVID cleanliness. Enjoyed it so much my partner and I came back for seconds a couple of days later. Haggis Bon-bons, venison meatballs and the battered fish and chips are all must-haves on the menu. The slow cooked lamb-shank fell away like butter from the bone and paired beautifully with the Croft ale. The cheese cake is divine and couldn’t fault the sticky toffee pudding. First time I’ve had a malt whisky while eating dessert, and it was a revelation. Highly recommend. A very special place, will be back again.. many times more I hope.

Stayed at the campsite next to the Glenlivite community hall. Half an hour stroll up the road to work up an appetite, because boy do you need to!! The welcome from the team is very friendy, like you are family. Hand sanitizer station at the door to an open bar area. The tables are positioned at a socialble distance with a perspex screen between yet it didn't make you feel unsociable. The large windows in the dining area made it very atmospheric as the views were amazing. We, as many other diners, sat in the courtyard prior to our meal with a beverage or two admiring the peace and quiet. Nothing was too much for the team always checking to see if we had everthing. Now to the meal....the portions are plentiful without spoiling the taste or presentation. The haggis is a must, prepared by a lady nearby of many years expertise, not ready to pass on the secret to the family? The fish is like a whale, the meatballs could feed a family and desserts become a dream because you are so full. Booking is highly recommended as they serve Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm. Now I need the walk back!!

Stayed 2 nights Fri-Sun in a very clean & spacious caravan that had great wee touches to make if feel like home such as towels, cleaning products and other extras you don't normally get. We have stayed here now 3 years in a row as love the warm welcome Alan & Helena give you and the service received in the Bar/ restaurant and this is reflected in the high quality scottish food served partially the fish & chips This is a great base to explore the highlands & whisky trail and the caravans are a amazing price & so much better than a b&b.We absolutely love it here and cant wait for our annual return next year xx

We are so pleased that the Croft is open again. A wee pub set in the most beautiful countryside. Helena, the Landlady is lovely. She is welcoming, friendly and funny. Alan knows his single malts!The food Is all freshly cooked. Good wholesome country food; tasty, comforting and delicious. Great after a walk, cycle, exercise or just because your are hungry. Worth taking the time to visit.Note that they open at 17:00 from Wednesday through to Sunday. It’s an idea to book, although we called in the way home and was able to get a table.They take hygiene and safe distancing very seriously and we felt perfectly safe. So definitely a place to visit.

The Croft Inn is a real gem of a pub. Beautiful setting, a welcoming atmosphere and really great food (the steak and ale suet pudding was a highlight!) We’ve returned each time we are in the area and will continue to do so. Helena is a warm and welcoming host and we thoroughly enjoyed having a whisky and learning more about them from Alan who is extremely knowledgeable.Highly recommended!

We visited the pub for a pint and a quick bite, but the menu was so good that we decided to have proper dinner. We had 3 starters, 4 main dishes and 2 deserts and everything was great, cooked from scratch with local products. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the local beers. We highly recommend to visit the place if you are nearby!

Considering the circumstances (day 2 of being able to trade), we had a lovely meal in our little gazebo! Really friendly staff who made us feel like old friends immediately. Tasty and generous servings, more traditional fare, think delicious chicken breast and leek sauce and a beef suet pudding, rather than your standard pub grub of burger and lasagne. However the fish and chips were inhaled by the boys :-). A lovely pub run by really friendly people...

This is the second time we have had the pleasure of staying at the Croft Inn . Both times have been fabulous . We stayed in one of their caravans which is a real home from home and ate in the bar area every night . The food was fabulous and we were spoilt for chose ! My mum said it’s one of the best holidays she’s ever had and shes had a few as she’s 80 !

We stayed for 2 days in holiday homes ran by The Croft Inn. This obviously made the Inn an obvious choice for a dinner. And it was a great choice :) Honestly I regret we had only 2 dinners there. Everything was delicious - Welly, Pie, Salmon (both as a starter and as a main dish) - but one dish that deserves special praise is The Jacobite - I believe this is the best lamb dish I ever had.On top of that - the service is very nice, the hosts are really friendly and we had trully great time there.

A lovely warm welcome upon arrival from the owners and their friendly staff member, Sarah. We made them aware of my food allergies and instead of ruling things out of the menu, they were so helpful, after speaking to the chef, Jen, two out of the three items on the menu containing one of my food allergies (mushrooms), they could make me a fresh one without mushrooms if I wanted it. It's a huge change to find such a helpful place when it comes to allergies, they couldn't have been more helpful and I did choose one of those items - after lots of thought, the menu all sounded delicious. All food is freshly made and cooked, using local produce where possible and worth the wait. Highly recommended and we'll absolutely be back!

We could not have asked for a better dining experience in Scotland – never mind in a tiny town within Cairngorm! We came on a quiet night and had a delightful long chat with the owner about a number of different things. The other staff were all so pleasant too. The food was stellar. Excellent chips, fresh vegetables, nothing was greasy or too salty, and the menu was quite creative. She asked upfront about dietary restrictions, and was so thoughtful in sharing choices and offering to make something off-menu if need be. The house beer is delightful too, and it’s a full bar... I could go on, but you really must close up TripAdvisor and just head over. You will not regret it!

After receiving a warm welcome from the host Helena, we were shown a fabulous home cooked menu with a great choice. I'm glad I chose the salmon, it was absolutely delicious with the lemon croquettes. Other party members sampled the beautiful lamb shank, the chicken and the Welly which were all cooked to perfection and so tasty. We are sad to leave this beautiful area of Scotland and will certainly return to the Croft Inn. Outstanding.

We visited the inn this week while staying at the Glenlivet Lodges and were bowled over by the delicious home made food and extremely warm welcome from Helena. Wonderful Scottish fare and fabulous veggie options (I had the Sporran- photo below!) Would definitely recommend a visit while in the area :)

Decided to try The Croft Inn following so many recommendations and so glad we did. The place was warm and cosy and the staff were attentive and friendly. We decided to try the Haggis bon bons as a starter and also the brie, which was amazing. Hard to choose from the menu as everything looked amazing, decided on the Lamb and the welly - good decision. We will most certainly return.

Based on the reviews this was supposed to be a restaurant with good food. But this turned out not to be true. Small pub section where we had a drink, restaurant is only small and was busy. A lot of food on the menu is battered or wrapped in pastry. I choose the Welly which is a loin of venison with mash and vegetables. I don't like food in pastry that much but this seemed to be the best choice. Meat in pastry was perfectely cooked but very small piece of meat and a lot of soft doughy pastry. Not much flavour. Mashed and vegetables were very bland, no taste at all, even the mashed was pure potato without using something to make it tasty. Very disappointing, especially as for a pub style restaurant this was not cheap for what you get. The fish and chips was slightly better but also no ot much flavour. This was the least meal on our whole trip. Choice of wine is also very small, just some very basic ones. Not recommended

Enjoy our drive back and forwards every time. As the food is always first class would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Thistle Dhu Inn and walked the half mile to the restaurant. The restaurant owners were welcoming. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding! Highly recommended.

Visited with a group of 12 and Helena the landlady went out of her way to make sure we had a great night! Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the Glenlivet area!

We had driven by this inn a few weeks ago, and decided to pop back for an evening meal, and we are so glad we did! We were expecting the usual pub fare, but no!

Food is wonderful here and views superb. Vegans well catered for too. ⭐️ Staff vey friendly. Will definitely be back.

We had lots of things go wrong during dinner, with a huge delay, and despite acknowledging this, they didn't do anything to actually make up for it. If this had been our only ever visit to the Inn, we wouldn't go back, but we know from past experience it can be good.

This was our second time eating at the Croft Inn and we enjoyed it immensely. The food is excellent, I had a delicious venison wellington and my wife had an equally good steak pie (excellent pastry on both!). We followed up with some excellent whiskies to finish. As well as the good food and drink, the view is wonderful and the staff made us feel incredibly welcome.

My wife and I stopped here during our honeymoon. Food was simple, local and tasty. Venison Wellington was cooked perfectly, and was the best venison I’ve had. My wife’s lamb was great as well. Definitely worth a stop for the fresh flavors presented and for the wonderful staff led by Helena and Alan.

Helena and staff made me a delicious battered fish n' chips and tartar sauce, all gluten free. There were other options too, so I was a wee bit spoilt for choice. Washed down with a GF Peroni and I was a happy laddie. They take the time to listen and you can tell they do their utmost to accommodate everyone's needs. Not the biggest place, so I'd advise booking or give them a call if you have a dietary requirement. My son had the steak and his big grin and lip-licking told it's own story.

We turned up on a Tuesday evening having not booked and were lucky enough to get the last table in the bar area. We had our well behaved dog with us, who was permitted in the bar area. The hosts Helena and Alan made us very welcome. The menu was extensive with a good selection for vegetarians like us. Our meal was superb, there was a good wine list and as you would expect bring in Speyside the bar had a great selection of whiskey's. There was also a selection of locally brewed beers. Would absolutely recommend the Croft Inn but would advise booking as it's a very popular place.

This restaurant lived up to its good reviews. Helena and Alan are very friendly and kind hosts and their staff are lovely. The food is simply amazing. We visited twice and the food both times was cooked to perfection. I recommend the cranachan for dessert. This has to be the nicest restaurant we've visited for a long time.

Through good recommendation we decided to eat at The Croft Inn as quite close to the accommodation we were staying in, from the moment we arrived the service, atmosphere and the food was fantastic we couldn't of been made more welcome, guest's arrived that had been the year before and were welcomed like old friend's, would highly recommend the Haggis very impressed as never tried it before, Alan and his wife and staff are wonderful and will hopefully revisit in the future and may even consider staying in 1 of there caravans. Tarif dans la lignée des restaurants de la région. Mais il n'y a pas beaucoup d'alternative aux alentours.

I took my parents and partner to The Croft Inn for a lovely father’s day meal.

Our family went to the Croft a couple of evenings for our meals. As always, they were lovely, and just as good as last year. Helena welcoming as usual. Very enjoyable.

Das ist ein echter Geheimtipp! Alles frisch zubereitet mit Zutaten aus der Region!! Nur an zwei Abenden dort zu Essen war eigentlich viel zu wenig.. hätte gerne noch weitere Menüs probiert! Fantastisch!!

Alan vous accueille dans son domaine très chaleureusement. large choix de whiskies (faites-vous conseiller pour déguster des choses inconnues) , à un prix très correct. le décor est typique d'un pub , avec des notes locales (les ardoises nécessitent quelques explications). très bonne nourriture (le saumon fumé !) , bien préparé (le poulet farci au haggis, sauce au whisky !).

Alan, the innkeeper and owner is a gracious, good soul. The staff are friendly and jovial. The food is wonderful. This is the best inn in Scotland!

had a great 4 night stay here . owners gave a very warm welcome on arrival .ate in the restaurant on final night good choice on menu at a reasonable price food was excellent . did i mention the 55 whiskies to choose from .

We had a lovely meal last night for my partner Bob’s 65th Birthday. Helena, Alan & Laurie were fantastic hosts, making us feel ‘at home’ and the food was delicious! The haggis balls starter was very tasty as well as the chicken/asparagus and 3 of us had the salmon main course which they really enjoyed. I had the sirloin steak which was delicious along with the hand cut chips and mushrooms. A lovely meal all round and lovely views across the fields. Definitely recommended to visit The Croft Inn, Glenlivet, thanks!

2 Adults 1 child stayed in the on site caravans 2 nights, very clean and modern and so peaceful. Restaurant is 5* on food and service and the hosts Alan and Helena are always on hand to answer and questions you might have, all in a great relaxing break and will be back again soon

Friday night dinner was excellent with fantastic local beers on tap from Cairngorm brewery, a huge whiskey selection and really good home cooked locally sourced food.

Staying at an Airbnb just a couple of mins walk down the road I visited here on a Sunday night with my wife and 2yo daughter. The owners were extremely warm and welcoming and put through my daughters food order ahead of a large group of 8 so she didn’t have to wait, which was extremely nice of them. The food was extremely generous in size, lovely and all home made, proper fresh Scottish pub classics. Thank you for your friendly welcome and hospitality, we hope to visit again one day.

We had such a lovely dinner here. The staff was extremely friendly, they are wonderful with kids, attentive, and happy to answer our questions about traditional food. The food was delicious food! Enough options to please anyone, great flavor, and beautiful presentation.

We had a delightful dinner on the opening night for the 2019 season. The steak and ale pie was baked perfectly and the fried Brie was devine!! Alan and Helena are the most gracious hosts of this inviting establishment and they have succeeded in providing a home cooked meal for those seeking culinary comfort. I highly recommend!!

The Croft Inn offers a unique experience. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the selection of whiskey available. The hosts are friendly and passionate about good customer service. The menu offers local fayre, vegetarian options and some interesting combinations. We will certainly return should we be in the area again. You will need to book to be certain of a table. The owners do not open every day but when they are open, it's worth a visit...

My husband and I only intended to stay one night in the static caravan there, but loved it so much we stayed for three ! Food fabulous in the bar and restaurant , which is locally sourced , so that must be a good thing . We’re hoping to go back early next year ..

When we arrived in Glenlivet, we wanted to try this place but opening hours are limiting. They are closed Mon and Tuesday and only open on the other days after 5:30pm. I would check their opening hours before you travel here.

We called in here after a long 10 hr drive from Essex to our holiday lodge on the Glenlivet Estate, looking for a good beer, nice wine and home cooked food.

Friendly welcome, great beers, fantastic food! Highly recommend! Just what ended after a day in the hills to warm up!

Absolutely delightful! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted like family and by the time you leave you feel like you are! The food is fantastic, the whisky and ales are great,and the view from the dinning area is stunning but what sets the Croft Inn apart are the people. Alan and Helena are so friendly and welcoming and their staff is so great our family returned for three nights. Our children talked about what a great time they had there and how good the food was that we had to!

This experience is probably one of our favorite times when in Scotland last week. We were welcomed into this 'pub atmosphere' as if we were locals. So much laughter among the owner/wife/pub goers. Much time was spent on bringing us up to speed on the menu. I am a vegetarian and was given the option of a vegetarian haggis which surprised me. Very nice. Cozy dining area and bar. On our last day, we compared notes with our friends, and we all agreed the Croft Inn offered us a very memorable experience.

We had a lovely meal at the Croft Inn. It started with a a fantastic welcome from Helena which really set the tone and all of the staff were lovely; friendly, engaging and good fun. The food was really enjoyable. The Haggis Bon Bon starter was probably the highlight but the fish and chips and steak and ale pie were both great. It is pub food but done really well. The ingredients are all sourced locally and referenced at the back of the menu which was also a nice touch.

This was a repeat visit after a visit a month earlier. Again the standards were very high, and it is highly recommended, we just had a couple of tips - they should slightly reduce the size of some of the starters just a bit - especially the roulade - and reduce the price slightly to match. Mushy peas would be a nice option with the exceptionally good fish & chips!

Food great, view great, staff more than great, good local beer and choice of malt whisky; overall great place. We will be back every time we come to the Highlands. Wife had the Caber and the Sporran and I had the Brie and the Venison Meatballs, both so delicious and we scraped our plates. Such an enjoyable experience, a rare find in todays world. Well done all at The Croft Inn, thank you.

We stayed in one of their caravans, and ate in the pub on two occasions. Food is fantastic but what makes the stay even more memorable is the lovely couple who run the establishment Helena and Alan, they are very welcoming and great fun to be around would highly recommend a stay or just an evening meal in the restaurant. Alan has 52 (at last count) whisky's to try so if you can leave the car or get someone else to drive.

Good food and beer just what a country pub/restaurant should be and the staff could not be more helpful even staying on a longer when we were late, does not happen too often in city’s if ever.

We had an absolutely delightful meal. The haggis bon bons to start were great, the lamb shank and pie we had as mains were delicious, as was the cranachan for desert. We also had two great pints of ale, and a wonderful chat with the staff about how deceptively steep the local hill walks can be. Our only regret is that we came here for dinner on the last night of our stay in Ballindalloch, and couldn't stay a while at the bar after our meal as we had to pack and get up early to drive across the country in the morning.

The Croft Inn was an exceptional experience, from the quality of the food, to the friendliness of the owners and staff. We really could not have asked for more gracious hosts, who welcomed us as if we were old friends and made sure our time there was as relaxed and pleasant as possible. The food, locally sourced and made from scratch on-site, was unique and delicious. We ate in the front dining room, where large windows showcased beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. After leaving the restaurant, we realized that no gratuity had been charged, and my husband rushed back. As he is still not returned, I imagine he is happily ensconced at the bar, continuing an earlier conversation with the owners, who are really just delightful people.

Had a very nice evening meal here. The venison meatballs were good, my son enjoyed the haggis and the slow roasted lamb was very nice. We tried a few deserts and the cranachan was a hit. The staff was really friendly and the beer is good. It would be worth a trip out to eat here for a special occasion.
