The Crimson Tree in Nottingham

What a great little find We came for a visit to Nottingham as we had a meeting around the corner, and we managed to find this place with great reviews on Google, so we decided to give it a go We were not disappoint This place was decorated well, with plenty of space to inside. We had missed breakfast as it was lunchtime and there was lots of great options . We opted for the quiche of the day with salad which ended up being a butternut squash quiche, which was absolutely lovely and very fresh. The salad was incredible as there was lots of variety. We also had the beef sauerkraut sandwich, which was incredible as well. a yummy, south-western sauce and Lovely bread. We managed to find a little bit of space for a fruit scone, which came with clotted cream and jam. They serve lovely loose tea in a pot. A great little find that I would highly recommend . The staff are lovely, and the toilets are clean .

Very small but adequate menu, food very fresh and tasty. I had halloumi on a bed of salad with roasted peppers and a kind of balsamic-type dressing served on a freshly-baked flatbread. Prices slightly above average but great, friendly service. One thing I would say is it might be difficult to find something on the menu that would be suitable for people with any food allergy. All in all very enjoyable.

Delicious, reasonably priced brunch with a Middle Eastern flair in a gorgeous little cafe with the most beautiful mosaic pillars you've ever seen. The staff are lovely too! Highly recommend.

Lunchtime first visit, warm ambience, lively but could still talk. Good service and friendly. I chose vegan falafel which was very nice. Went with friends before going to the nearby crystal shop. There was a free car park close by.

The breakfast was amazing!! I would say to arrive early if you don't want to wait for a table but I would eat here every morning if I could. £35 for 2 full English Breakfasts, 2 Coffee's and 2 apple juice.

Went for the first time yesterday and I think it's my new favourite place, I had a chai latte with soya milk and a warm Cherry scone, The scone was definitely the best scone I've ever had and I highly recommend it to anyone, I'll definitely go back and try the veggie breakfast, plus the staff were very friendly and very welcoming

This is usually a great place to visit so we go often and cannot fault it. Today the waiter spilt our coffee so we lost half of it. He cleared it up in a fashion but left the table wet with dirty tissue paper in a pile. We asked for a second coffee and waited 20 minutes. When we left we were charged the full price for both coffees. Should have said something I know!!

I ordered the full English breakfast with an English tea and what a delight it was to see loose tea in a gorgeous China teacup. If I could give this a Michelin 🌟 I would. Bon appetite

Tried this restaurant again after a couple of years. So disappointed again. Cleaning costs nothing. The toilets were so smelly hand wash cheap and nasty chandeliers dirty and the waiter was adding toppers to the food with his hands. You do get the feeling they want you out quickly and it was cold.

I had the Mediterranean breakfast which was all very fresh and tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would return again if I was in the area!

Went for a rejuvenating late breakfast on a Saturday. Food was fantastic, I had the Mediterranean breakfast and my Maman had the Persian eggs, everything was delicious but they forgot my croissant, luckily once it arrived it was also delicious! I took some lime cake home to share with my Hubs-enter and he was delighted. The food is all freshly made and proper so obviously can take little longer at busy times. I will definitely be back x

Nicely decorated, brilliant service and food. Friendly helpful staff. My mother is disabled and they got a ramp out for her. The only observation is the toilet, it's big enough to get a wheelchair in but there are no rails to help on and off the toilet, so she wasn't able to use it. Dog friendly.

Not been in since it changed ownership, was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I felt it kept the place has kept its identity and the food was fun & tasty (much like it used to be). Will definitely be going again.

Came out for a spontaneous family breakfast and loved it! Super authentic, really welcoming to our 2 year old, everything was fresh and delicious. The coffee was absolutely gorgeous as well! Toddler rated it ‘BEST PORRIDGE EVER’ and my chef boyfriend (stupidly hard to please) was absolutely wowed. we will be back!

I highly recommend this lovely cafe - I had the falafel wrap and my friend had the dirty fries, both dishes tasted absolutely delicious and were presented beautifully too. We initially thought we'd share a bit of the homemade Victoria sponge but it was so nice we ordered another slice! I'll definitely be back :)

Nice little cafe in the corner of the main shopping strip in Sherwood. The atmosphere was great, food was impressive, especially the portion sizes. It's quiet and cute. They offered seating outside for if the weather is nice. Big meals and light bites. All baked items are all baked in house, the scone I ordered was nice and warm.

We were looking for a good lunch stop between York and Bath and choose this one on the basis of Google Reviews. These can be hit and miss, we've found. In this case though, they were right on the money. What a find! Friendly service and the best coffee and food we've had in the UK. Big call, yes! But we've been here nearly 4 months and been to many many places. The food here is Mediterranean-inspired, with lots of delicious fresh flavours in their not-insubstantial salads. But there are plenty of other options for the less adventurous, like quiches and huge sausage rolls. Plenty of good looking cakes too. The menu doesn't actually do justice to the food. I ordered the quiche of the day and salad and got a huge plateful of vegetables and salad items, beautifully cooked and flavoured, with my fluffy, tasty quiche Enough of my dribbling... Just go!

This on trend boho chic and middle Eastern/Mediterranean style eatery is set on the main Sherwood road , with great public transport links from the city of Nottingham. The decors quirky and eclectic style mix , features up cycled vintage furniture and fixings plus , Moorish style ceramic tiles and vintage ornaments and artwork features which have been created to give a very special atmosphere which all adds up to the crimson tree experience . The crimson tree upon our visit was bustling with a good customer base , that I guess we're regulars , and all were enjoying the food and ambiance of the crimson tree eatery . The food on offer was presented very well and all the pastries I viewed were baked to artisan quality and were good sizes for individual portions . We purchased a sandwich which was plated up with a salad for two and it was top quality fresh bread !! Baked to a very high standard , plus the salad was served with a light oil dressing that complimented it perfectly and was included in the cost in addition to this we also had a hummus and pita bread plus a large glass of merlot and a carafe of chilled water , the cost in total was circa £21 which was reasonable for the quality of food and drink on offer . The wine choice is quite good and varied and should suit most palates and beer and coffee plus soft drinks are available . The crimson tree experience is a very relaxing comfortable vibe and is an ideal place for friends family or perhaps a romantic dinner , please might I add although alcohol is served here it is not a pub experience type venue and is more of a food and drink experience as good food good wine and good company go together !! , that's the crimson tree experience . The staff upon our visit were polite and friendly and helpful with menu choices and keen to make sure our visit was a good one . This was our first to the crimson tree eatery and I'm sure if we're in the area we will return , if you have the chance to visit I'm sure you will enjoy the experience like ourselves . A MUST PLACE VISIT WHILST IN THE SHERWOOD AREA !!

Milkshakes are great - would highly recommend banana! Staff seem hesitant for large groups.

Up in Nottingham for my son’s graduation and looking for a good breakfast and came upon the Crimson Tree on TripAdvisor As we were not staying far away, we walked here and sat outside. I had the Persian eggs and my wife had the cereal. Both were excellent. The coffee and pot of tea were also very good. Not surprisingly, it was very busy but the service was still friendly and professional

Sadly, this place has lost its sparkle since management changed hands. The menu is smaller and not as well served. It’s still tasty but if, like me, it’s the customer service that puts the cherry on the cake…then this place has lost that. No smiles, no warm engagement and no ‘love’ it’s so sad-this place used to be difficult to get a table and now you can get one anytime. A true reflection of the change and drop in customer service. I asked to sit at a different table as my friend is hard of hearing and all I got was an eye roll, I wanted to just leave-instead I won’t be back! Staff: please smile at least! We are spending our money and you should be happy about that. 🥹

Exactly what we needed today - a quick and tasty lunch. New burger on the menu was delicious and the dirty fries with chicken shawarma was great. Good value and a nice buzzy atmosphere. Friendly, efficient service. Will definitely return.

I visited here today, when I arrived I asked if they do Ia vegan breakfast to which I believe it was the owner said yes, I was then seated, no menu to check my order. I was served 2 dry toast, with 2 slices of beef tomatoe, with a tomatoes relish, a few rocket leaves and 2 mushrooms. So my dry toast with cold tomatoes, was not a vegan breakfast, which I asked for, afterwards when I paid for my food I was told owe we don't do vegan that was the vegetarian option. Why was I lied to by yhe owner when I arrived, I'd rather that he'd told me the options or said sorry we don't do vegan breakfasts. So £13.40 for dry toast and cold tomatoes an oat coffee was an absolute disgrace when people simply expect value for thier hard earned money. I definitely will not recommend or revisit the crimson tree again. Shame on you.

We called into Crimson Tree as we were in Sherwood,there were 6 people in 4 on a table,two already served. We waited 7 minutes or so even though one staff member was on her phone behind the counter. I was very disappointed with the service and the fact staff were more inteiin their phones. Poor tbh

we visited the Crimson tree today and were shocked to see a dog standing on the dining table and chairs, when i mentioned this to the waitress she told me it was dog friendly, surely not on the table she just shrugged her shoulders So if you like dog hair in your food enjoy. wont be visiting again

The food is very good but very expensive. This is an out of city restaurant and the prices should reflect this. I asked to take away two scones and thought I’d been overcharged. I was charged the same as if I’ve eaten them in the restaurant with jam and cream - outrageous.

A wet Sunday morning and there was a qué waiting for the door to open.A warm welcome as you enter,maybe a brief wait,it's worth it..the quality of the food here is fabulous.The vegan breakfast is such a treat!..none of your last thought, humdrum,bland meh here..it was more'ish and very satisfying..took home vegan apple and caramel pie and that too was scrumptious..love this place..the food is vibrant as is it's quirky decor..it's a treat.

The Crimson Tree is excellent for teas, cakes, breakfasts, lunches, and well just about anything. Cant say enough good thing about this place. Excellent service and just sooooo good.

First time visit today. Spur of the moment choice. What a good call that was!! .. 3 of us had 3 different breakfasts, mine was the Crimson Tree Full English. Have to say, that was the best Full English I have had. Quality of the food was outstanding and the level of service was equal to it. Will we be going back there? Easy answer .. absolutely yes

Fabulous scones. The steak sandwich is awesome. My son and I came here both mornings in Nottingham, it's that great. I like it to a bakery wonderland. There's good stuff all around, cakes, sweet breads, quiche, scones all displayed in antique shop displays. Definitely worth the visit. It's a must stop on our return trip this coming May. Can't wait.

My daughter brought me here and the quiche was fabulous. We had cake too and I felt very guilty but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Il locale era quasi pieno e all'interno è molto caratteristico!Lo staff è stato veramente molto cordiale e disponibile, piacevolissimo! Il cibo è stato di mio gradimento, un buon hamburger con dei contorni misti ed una buonissima torta toffee e caramello, tornerò sicuramente!!

I came on two separate occasions in a week!! first time with my daughter, we was so impressed with the food and the outstanding friendly customer service. Second time with my husband and in-laws & once again was delicious! The staff are really nice and friendly, that’s one of the key ingredients to a wonderful establishment! One of my fave places to go in Notts, I would Deffo Recommend!

Absolutely ridiculous how you only serve mushrooms on a weekend, I'm normally a funguy but this was the biggest joke of them all stop been so tight and buy some mushrooms

I always love my visits here. Fantastic food, friendly staff, great coffee, amazing fresh cakes (often being made right in front of you) beautifully, eclectic decor and dog friendly too which is a massive plus! Makes such a welcome change to not have to settle for mediocre places if you want to take your dog. Oh and the best scrambled eggs I've ever had!

I usually visit this place for breakfast, they cater for vegetarians and vegans and the food is always at a high standard. You can tell that they care about the food they serve and the way its served. Its always been busy on the days I have visited. I would recommend this place, its homely, quality food and local.

I love The Crimson Tree, it's great for a cup of special tea or a full lunch. The cakes are rather scrummy and the decor is beautiful. It gets really busy and sometimes you have to wait a little to get a table, but that just shows how good it is!

Big noisy hard surfaces and high prices have really let the place down. The food remains good if over priced. Avoid the tea, it is nsaty

Went for lunch with my wife,it was our first time and it was excellent.We had two bacon and Brie sandwiches and we really enjoy them. Service was very good and the whole experience was great.We definitely will be back

When ordering brunch I was told that you couldn’t change anything though as there was only one chef. So I couldn’t add avocado or sides to a breakfast which were listed on the menu.

Crimson Tree is a great cozy place to spend some time with family or friends. Me and my wife love to have a window seating and last time I had a Lamb burger with feta and oregano which was absolutely delicious and my wife had a Mackerel patè which was finger licking good. Their coffee is very tasty, they also have a nice selection of deserts. We usually come here on Sunday for a brunch. But if you ever around and want to have some tasty food in a lovely atmosphere, we highly recommend.

A delightful café. Beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. I ordered a pot of tea which was huge for one person and a cheese scone. The tea and scone were both excellent. I loved the quirky décor (a flamingo in the toilet!) It’s a great place to enjoy some lovely food and drink and people watch.

This place is often busy and with good reason. Service is friendly, it has very pleasant and interesting decor and the scones are delicious! Well worth dropping in if you are in the area.
