The Crawfish in North Norfolk

Our second time at the crawfish, the quality is consistent! Staff are quick, friendly and accommodating. There is a decent size vegetarian section on the menu (not sure for vegan options) and the honeycomb cheesecake is delicious!!

Whilst being a busy and popular restaurant, the management kindly accommodated us at short notice for an impromptu table of five in the bar area. Ample parking outside. Our table was already prepared for our arrival after only 10 minutes notice, this was despite the restaurant being booked and full. Tremendous choice on menu, with the waitress clarifying our queries prior to ordering. Our food was served promptly and catered for all our preferences. Delighted to learn the owner has been successfully trading for over 20 years. 5 star review all round. If you are off to Thursford and want a local meal this is highly recommended. Thank you.

Oh my goodness from start to finish our experience at the Crawfish was truly superb. We opted for the set meal for 2 and it was fabulous ! Starters, main and dessert all 10/10, cannot fault one thing, and the 2 young ladies waitressing were delightful, so happy we decided to spend our anniversary meal here after a brilliant Thursford Christmas Spectacular m.

It was sub zero temperature in the restaurant. When we raised it with the waitress she rolled her eyes and huffed although did move us. The decor was shabby. Cutlery awful- knives blunt! Food average. Starters disappointing, mains acceptable. Staff ok although the lady who appeared to be in charge was really rude! The girls looked bored and lacked any table conversation. The toilets looked like a scene from the Young Ones! Totally disappointing, underwhelming and freezing! AVIOD!!!

Wow what a place to eat amazing Thai food. My wife is a coeliac and from a separate gluten free menu of 70+items only 5 or 6 were not suitable for coeliacs. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We ate there on a Tuesday night and it was busy. You must try it but recommend booking. The only downside is we live in the North of England so we won’t get to eat there again until our next visit 😞

We visited whilst on holiday with friends. My friend is coeliac and needed gluten free dishes. This was no issue at all. They even had gluten free beer. All our choices of meals were delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Great food my compliments to the chef my meal brought back memories of when we visited Thailand ,So many options Started with Thai Fish cakes and then a fantastic Jungle Curry.

Had a lovely take away from here during our Norfolk holiday. Took us a while to get through when ringing but glad we persevered. We had prawn blankets to start with which were nice as I love pork and prawn together. For main we mixed and matched the special fried rice with crab and prawn, (was lovely as were our other dishes of) Ped Pat Prik Pow (Duck with Thai Chilli Paste, Moo pad prik king (Thai Spicy pork) And Pla Pad Prik (Fish with Sweet Basil and Chilli)yes we were greedy pigs, but we’re on holiday so it’s allowed. Collection was nice and easy, recommend if your in the area. Oh and there was loads of duck in our order which was a refreshing change to what I usually find when having duck from other restaurants/takeaways.

We recently moved to Norfolk and didn’t know if we’d ever find a Thai restaurant as good as our old local… but The Crawfish was even better and we’re very happy! We had the chicken satay and Thai fish cakes to start, followed by beef massaman and chicken penang, both with rice, washed down with well-kept Barsham ales. We can’t wait to return!

Another favourite for us in Norfolk. The Crawfish has fantastic Thai food served in an unusual building. We started going a few years ago and always make a beeline for it on our month spent in North Norfolk. My favourite dish is the Beef Massaman and I always look forward to tasting the lovely spices. We have dined in on a number of occasions and also had takeaway which has worked equally well. For us, The Crawfish is a reliable restaurant for a taste sensation.

The food is out of this world. So fresh and delicious. Lots of different flavours. Best Thai I have ever had. I recommend this place to everyone. Definitely my favourite restaurant.

Delicious, fresh tasting food cooked and served in minutes. Lovely friendly staff who accommodate small personal requests regarding the food and seating. Enjoyed a gorgeous wine too. I had the sizzling beef and mixed seafood green Thai curry and egg fried rice. Very generous portions. Left very happy with leftovers that were enough for a small dinner the next day!

I’m lucky enough to live 10 minutes drive away from this fantastic restaurant. Myself, family and friends have been using this restaurant for 15 years and I’ve never had a bad meal. The atmosphere is that if what you make it and seating is limited, so booking is advised. The food is priced accordingly for its quality and the portion size is never an issue. I always have Panang curry made spicy with spicy egg fried rice. I’ve been told they make everything by hand so expect authentic Thai flavours and not that you can buy from the shop. Our first sit-in meal here since lockdown. Social distancing was exceptionally well organised - better than most establishments we have visited. The service, food quality and price were as excellent as ever. This has to be our favourite restaurant in Norfolk.

An odd sort of place which we visited due to good reviews. We didn’t feel it was very authentic and was pricey ...for example, deep fried prawns as a starter had just 3 prawns. Just returned from my second visit to this restaurant in three weeks and feel I must review it while I am feeling in a very happy mood ! First of all I was very impressed with and felt very comfortable with the COVID friendly protocol . At no time did I feel compromised in any way. The staff are very efficient and welcoming and friendly. It’s obvious that this is a family run place , very hospitable and welcoming. The menu is most attractive with so many choices, all just wanting to be selected and very well explained! I will. It mention individual menu choices but just say we loved all we chose and sent empty plates back to the kitchen. All dishes were very tasty and varied! Each dish had its own flavors, clean and fresh and cooked just right, all the vegetables very beautifully cooked, it’s a lovely room, great food and very nice staff ! Try it, you will love it !

We were lucky enough to pass this place on our way to the holiday cottage we are renting in Weybourne and looked it up - reviews were really good and we LOVE authentic Thai food - we live near Ascot in Berkshire and do not have a decent local Thai. So we decided to get a takeaway from the Crayfish which is 10 miles away from where we are currently staying. As my husband just said - the best 20 miles we have ever travelled for a takeaway or restaurant for that matter. Wonderful Thai food - full of flavour, authentic ingredients, and not "dumbed down" as most UK Thai restaurants are - this was fabulous. Go out of your way to visit it - we would be weekly guests if we didn't live over a hundred miles away!

Wow...what a find! Tastefully designed interior with very comfortable seating. Restrained polite staff observing covid restrictions. The food is to die for! The starters were very generous, can recommend the satay chicken and tom yum soup, both superb.We had mixed seafood poae tak and panang King prawns for mains with beautifully light egg rice. Again just wow! We haven't had such a fantastic meal for a long long time. We'll be back later in the week for another go.

Once a year we visit this amazing restaurant, and the quality of the food once again is superb - 20/20. This year I am so impressed with the high level of service from our staff. We have just come back from a lovely week holidaying in Norfolk and during that stay, we ate at the Crawfish four times!!We kept coming back to the Crawfish because every dish without fail was delicious at reasonable prices. Service was also excellent across the board. All staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The restaurant also felt Covid safe. We also really appreciated how the Crawfish tried to find a table for us on a busy Friday night at short notice. Thank you to everyone at the Crawfish for helping to give us such a lovely holiday!

What can I say?!! Though we have enjoyed some seriously good meals in Norfolk, this place topped them all! Absolutely fab meal. Customer service is also at it's best. On time, polite, caring!

We had a pleasant family dinner here but are puzzled why a restaurant wouldn't sign up to the government scheme to help customers by making the meals on 3 days of the week more affordable. Somehow a restaurant not wanting to pass a saving onto customers feels a bit like not caring about your customers. So for this reason I wouldn't recommend a meal here in August on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. There are many restaurants in the area who are part of the scheme, so go to one that does want to pass on savings to cash strapped diners in these difficult economic times. Food ok, ambiance a bit lacking.

Visited here a few days ago. We had to book prior. Indoor space very hot and dark. No air con due to covid we opted to eat outside. Chose a picnic bench, bad choice, given no cushions again due to covid,made for a hard seat during our meal. We eat Thai often so we knew what we wanted and the standard was on par, nothing overly special. However the service was great, staff wearing visors, food arrived quickly as well as drinks. All very well managed in the current situation. Surprised they only open on limited days of the week, when there are very few places in this whole area (coast )where you can eat out in the evening (excl hotels) we found that odd given its a tourist spot.

Visited the Crawfish restaurant last weekend, the food was good and served hot as it should be, the staff were good.The tables, chairs menu's etc were cleaned throughly each time a table was vacated.I was not comfortable as the persons on the adjacent table from me were not 1 metre away from me, this was easily resolved when a larger table was made available for us.My wife just reminded me that we should have seen a discount on the menu prices, due to the government reduction of VAT for restaurant food, we didn't get the reduction.

We always drive past the crawfish inn on our way to Holt so decided to grab a takeaway one evening. All the food was delicious and a great quality. We’ve already recommend it to family and will definitely come back again, either to dine in or grab another takeaway.

Having spent the day out walking we ordered a take away to be delivered. The food arrived well within the time stated. My husband ordered spare ribs for starters and sizzling steak for main. I had chicken satay for starters and king prawns with plum sauce for main. The spare ribs were the best, so much meat so much taste my husband declared they were the best he'd ever had. Our mains were delicious, my plum sauce was just excellent. Sometimes restaurants struggle to replicate the dish served in house when serving takeouts. This is not the case with The Crawfish. The take away was excellent, we definitely recommend, it is a gem.

I was delighted when this place started to do takeaways during lockdown. I had three excellent meals over the months.....inexpensive and cheerfully served. If you are prepared to travel to Thursford to pick up your meal, I thoroughly recommend The Crawfish.

As a 'lockdown treat' we went for a takeaway. For 2 of us, 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 side dishes and 1 rice came to almost GBP40 - collection was at the specified time. The food quality was OK, but the portions were really too smallNot good enough to persuade us to go there again

I had heard some good reviews of it however.They recently popped a menu through the door and I noticed that they were open for takeaways during the Lockdown. So last night we ordered a takeaway. And so glad we did!The service was very friendly, the delivery arrived bang on time, the food was hot and, most of all, delicious. Thank you.Highly recommended.

We were desperate to have a bit of a treat during lockdown and discovered by change that the Crawfish is still open for takeaway, unlike everywhere else nearby that we could think of. And the food is absolutely first rate. Can’t recommend it highly enough. We’ll be back soon.

Stayed at Holt for a week before Christmas and stopped here for an evening meal. Food was wonderful as was the service, enjoyed the meal so much we had another meal there before we left!

Our go to for Thai food. Have visited many times and always had a great meal with excellent service. Think my favourite is the Thai roast duck or the Thai spare ribs always very tender and very tasty.

Our first visit to this restaurant. It was an early booking due to going to the Christmas show at Thursford only half a mile away. The staff was very pleasant and efficient and used to show nights. The food was excellent and would reccomend any who likes Thia food to visit this restaurant if there nearby as it is worth it.

We had booked for 6pm but arrived early and we were welcomed warmly in. The ambience was cosy. Our food was prepared fresh and to our taste. No rush but alert attentiveness. Lovely conclusion to a lovely afternoon.

We six met for dinner at the Crawfish. We have been several times but the new menu and in particular the set menus were brilliant. Six of us fed to bursting point with good food, good service, good enviroment, well chosen menus and including drinks it came to £25 a head! Two hours of sheer delight, good food , good company and in general a good night. Including the Binham Periory Evensong!
