The Courtyard Cafe in North West Leicestershire

My mum and I randomly decided to pop into the courtyard for lunch. It was very busy but we were greeted at the door very promptly Such cute and cosy decor, lots of options on the menu for every dietary need. We were informed with all of the soecials and didn't wait long for our drinks and food at all Very yummy, super friendly staff with a lovely atmosphere.

When friends visit, The Courtyard is usually the place I go to for Breakfast. It never disappoints. There are a few different yummy options but last time I ordered the English Breakfast and so did my friend. We both really enjoyed our visit. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.

After shopping in Ashby my wife and I popped in for some lunch, we are very glad we did. This was our first time visiting, the food is delicious and plentiful and very reasonably priced. The staff are excellent, with a good sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend and we will be visiting again, it’s a big yes from us.

Beautifully decorated and clean cafe with lovely, friendly staff. The young waitress took time to compliment my jumper and have a little chat. The manager greeted us outside and immediately showed us a table inside. My ham and cheddar omelette was very large and full of gammon ham, cooked to perfection, served with perfectly cooked crispy on the outside and fluffy inside chips and a side salad. My husband had the soup, chips and sandwich combo, which he was very happy with. The smoked salmon was good quality and soup very tasty, chips as mine were. Along with a large pot of tea, this was a quality lunch at a reasonable price, a very pleasant lunchtime experience, with great service. We are looking forward to another visit when we next visit Ashby.

Absolutely brilliant find, tucked away down into a little courtyard off the main street. Great choice of food, with a specials board as well, generous servings and tasty. Staff really friendly, helpful and seem genuinely happy to be there. Cant fault it, would definitely be back.

We happened upon the Courtyard Cafe today on a visit for my daughters birthday and can I just say- wow wow wow! Not only was the food DELICIOUS with a proper home cooked vibe, the service was absolutely amazing with the staff going above and beyond making sure we were warm enough outside and just being the friendliest and happiest people EVER! I would highly recommend anyone visiting this place (make sure your make a reservation) and will definitely return!

Just Perfect! Whenever passing through, we ALWAYS make a point of visiting this tearoom. I'm a bit of a coffee snob (can't help it) and I have to remark, their coffee is amongst the best. I also had a fresh scone to accompany the coffee, simply delicious! Only fair to mention the staff, all of whom are friendly, professional, polite and attentive, first class! You have to give this place a try, you won't be disappointed 😃

I love this place! The food is always top notch and the staff are friendly and efficient. Travelling from Australia, it's nice to have the closest to a home cooked meal in the UK.

Lovely courtyard cafe with staff who are very helpful with dietary requirements and have a great selection of gluten free cake. Have been here several times for lunch now and its always been a great experience.

We went for breakfast for my wife's birthday, the waitress very kindly added a candle to her breakfast muffin and the top floor sang happy birthday. The staff here are the nicest people, it must be part of the hiring process! The food is always excellent especially for vegetarian customers. Would recommend to anyone!

My daughter and I paid our first visit to the Courtyard today for her birthday lunch, wanting to try somewhere different, she chose here because we were very impressed with all the positive reviews. We are so pleased we did, I said it was my daughter's birthday, they actually put a birthday banner on the table! The food was beautiful, very well presented and hot, when we ordered scones with jam and cream for dessert, my daughter's came with a candle and the staff sang happy birthday, it was wonderful. Brilliant experience, staff were very friendly and the cafe was spotless. Definitely returning, thank you all so much for making my daughter's birthday extra special.

Excellent brunch, great sausage, superb chips, black pudding. Wife had very filling tagliatelle, very good. Plenty of tea, pleasant, helpful staff. Will definitely return.

The Courtyard has always been a favourite of ours so when my sister and I wanted to do something special for my Great Aunty’s Birthday, The Courtyard’s Afternoon Tea was exactly that! Upon arrival, we were greeted at the door and shown straight to our table which had been beautifully laid out and a fruity delicious drink of elderflower, apple juice and lemonade mix was waiting for us when we got there. The Afternoon Tea included a plate of finger sandwiches, sausage roll, a plate of scones and millionaire shortbread and a plate of more delicious cakes accompanied by two servings of hot drinks each. The Courtyard couldn’t have been more understanding and accommodating when we asked to change some of the sandwich fillings and we were given such a lovely array of choices! The homemade sausage roll, I think is the best I’ve ever had and the plate of cakes had 3 of each kind so all three of us had one of each to enjoy. The waitstaff were exceptional and attentive, as always, and when we couldn’t finish all the cakes they gave us containers to take them home for later. We had a truely scrumptious time and can’t wait to go back! ✨

The Courtyard is such a lovely and welcoming cafe. I come here at least once a week with family or friends and always have such a lovely meal whether it’s breakfast, lunch or just cake. The staff are incredibly friendly, always have a little chat and make a fuss of my little ones which they love! They bought out a little banner for my eldest’s birthday this weekend and gave him some chocolate which he was so pleased with. Their character events for children (such as Paw Patrol and Minnie and Mickey Mouse) are always wonderful too. A must visit if you’re in Ashby!

Visit the cafe whenever we are in the area. Always lovely food & exceptional service from all the staff. Had a cheese & mushroom omelette & my friend had the breakfast brunch. Both were absolutely delicious. The omelette was massive. Well worth the money. We will be back very soon.

Enjoyed a family breakfast today with my son. Indulged with sourdough, avocado smash with scrambled egg ( delicious) and a full English for my son. Friendly staff great service and good food. Very clean and the staff were attentive but not overbearing. We visited here on recommendation, what a one it was too, the courtyard is lovely, staff were very friendly. I opted for the lamb burger special and its one of the best I have had. My wife had a sandwich/soup special which she also said was fantastic. We look forward to going back soon and supporting this little gem.
