The Cotton House in Falkirk

This is undoubtedly the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. I expected a standard menu but this went above and beyond with the choices and the flavour was outstanding. I cannot fault anything here, but given how hard it is to get a table, I just felt it lacked a personal touch. And there is a very strict 2hr table limit. This was fine for us, but I wouldn’t come with a bigger party for this reason. You should definitely try this menu

Went for a meal with friends. First of all very impressed the speed of service, especially for a Saturday night! Between the 4 of us we ordered: Starters of: - Duck rolls - Filo prawns - Satay chicken skewers - Gyoza For mains we got: - Sweet & Sour chicken - Crispy shredded beef - Special Chow Mein - Kung Po Chicken - Fried rice & plain noodles - Salt and Pepper chips. Every single dish was delicious! Also surprisingly light. Presented well and hot! Would highly recommend this restaurant!!

This is not a review of their food, but the ability to contact them during opening hours. You cannot book a table online but have to phone. Their phone-line said 'your call is very important to us please hold ' I started off at number 10 in the queue but at 70 minutes I was caller number 2 for 25 minutes.. It was obvious the phone lines were NOT manned and people ahead of me were just hanging up..

This place is amazing, first time I have been, although I have been recommended it many times. Can’t wait to go back. First class service, atmosphere, and the food was outstanding. Great value with the lunch deal, and you would normally expect small portions for lunch, this is not the case, I could hardly finish my two courses, and trust me that’s unheard of. 😂 Highly recommend

The service was excellent. Emma, the waitress asked how our meal was. Mine was lovely but Bill hadn't liked his. She mentioned it to the chef and they deducted it from the bill. All the staff were friendly and Emma (from Cumbernauld) was especially nice.

Ordered meal at 5.30, was told be ready 15 minutes. Had to ask one of their servers where my order was at 6pm., as people after me were getting items before me. Server had to check receipt. meal was Luke warm. Felt order had been forgotten

Very disappointing meal. Duck salad starter was absolutely drowned in balsamic vinegar with very little duck. Mushrooms were just frozen mushrooms, my main was average and my friends was a very thick and glupy sauce. Also more expensive than normal and definitely not worth it. Recent takeaways have also been disappointing. I think this restaurant has gone down hill recently.

We usually go one a month and the meal service is usually very good value at 2 course meal under £30 to day 15/12/23 2 course meal 18.50 £5 increase on normal visits, meal was good but festive menus was to dear rip off unfortunately.

Ordered a take away for collection, 15 mile trip to collect, missed one of the meals from my order...which is annoying but understandable. I didn't know until we were putting the courses out for dinner. However...they refused to deliver to my home to fix their error, also they only offered a discount coupon for the meal they forgot to supply. Which left me with only a few options: -Eat rice & chips for dinner, happy in the knowledge I was £7.20 better off (but only the next time I eat there). -Drive the 15 mile round trip to pick the thing up myself. Anyway...as the thought of eating rice & chips wasn't very appealing I had to jump back in the car & pick it up. Forgotten meal supplied within 10minutes which makes be extremely suspicious that it wasn't freshly cooked. So the family meal we planned ended up me eating myself as everyone else had finished their dinner. Dinner went OK with my cold rice, cold chips & warm wine that I'd just poured before I found the issue out. Very poor, pretty annoyed!

really lovely food ,you get big portions of food i wouldn’t go anywhere else tried lots of chinese restaurants but this one wins hands down for price,taste and freshness

Normally a brilliant option and good food and service sadly not tonight. Had placed an order for delivery when it came an item was missing. Mistakes happen after half an hour waiting to get through was out on hold before I could explain finally the person spoke to a a manager to tell me they would send out a replacement but I could expect it to be up to an hour. Not great customer care I paid for my food not my mistake would have hoped the restaurant would have tried to do something rather than leave one of us without a meal for an hour and a half. That this was a manager making this decision feels poor

Been hearing amazing reviews on this restaurant for years. Decided while home to try the restaurant for lunch. I suffer from nut allergies so eating out can be some what trying sometimes. I phoned the restaurant in advance to ask if they could cater for my allergy and I was advised they could, I was told when I visit to explain to the sever about my allergy. We tried our luck at being a walk in for lunch time, and was seated by a very friendly staff member, service for drinks was prompt and a good drinks menu on offer. When our server came over we advised them that I had a nut allergy and they advised the menu showed what would be suitable for me to eat and they would advise the kitchen. Our starters were of generous portion size and very well presented, all our guests advised starters were very tasty. Main courses again were of very good portion size’s definitely bigger than expected, we all had different dishes all were very presentable and full of flavour. All staff were very polite and friendly, there’s a lovely atmosphere inside and lots of space, tables are definitely not cramped together. I felt the menu had a very good choice of starters and main courses along with some English choices if Thai and Chinese is not your thing. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and I will definitely visit again the next time I’m back in Scotland.

Lunchtime booking. Birthday celebration for my son. One pm booking for 90 minutes. Choice of 2_or 3 course menu. Decided to order 3 rd course with 30 minutes of booking time left. Informed kitchen staff had let. I was incredulous. Had they told me at the time of booking the kitchen closes at 2 pm I would have had the choice to go elsewhere,to another restaurant,that actually let's me order from the menus offered. Birthday celebrations soured Not good enough. Is the owner going to sort this out. Either by changing this ridiculous set up or informing the customer at booking ?? I'll come back,if the owner is bothered enough by this review ,to change this ridiculous set up,and offer a better review as long as the service and food are up to standard. And I am offered a voucher towards the cost of another meal. If this happens I will remove this terrible review. I suspect I will hear nothing from anybody at the Cotton House.

Can't fault our visit to this restaurant, great staff, good menu choices, lovely food quick service, reasonably priced, parking, clean, and they even boxed our lefts to take home will definitely be back soon.

Had heard so many good reviews about the Cotton House and had been wanting to try it for a while. It’s not near where I stay but when I knew I was going to be passing by it I decided to book in for lunch for myself & 2 family members. We were utterly disappointed. Whilst the restaurant was busy, probably full & staff were nice and service was fast the food was not up to much at all. We ordered spare ribs & 2 x satay on the skewers for starters. The ribs were pretty dry and the sauce they did come with was tasteless. The Satay Skewers were a good portion size and were a better option than the ribs. For mains we ordered 2 x chicken & mushroom curries with fried rice and 1 x beef & mushroom with fried rice. Free prawn crackers were put on the table. The curries were awful. They were bland and tasteless and the chicken was dry and shrivelled as if over cooked or reheated. We intended having 3 courses but after the first two courses we decided to call it a day. The bill came to around £53 for 3 x 2 course lunches and 3 soft drinks. I honestly wish I had just got a takeaway from my local Chinese. I don’t know if we just visited on a bad day but it’s fair to say we probably wouldn’t go back.

11 of us arrived @ 12.30 for a Birthday Lunch. Menu with 2 or 3 courses on tables == so 10 of us ordered from this menu. All had starter and main meal. We had brought birthday cake and candles which the staff brought out after mains finished. I think 1or 2 main meals were not as ordered but accepted. Waitress came to take order for coffees and when we went to order sweets from our set menu we were told kitchen was closed at 2pm.. Staff were still serving icecream to adjacent tables. Members of staff clearing up == could even have had vacuum out. Bill was approaching £300 without sweets. No one asked before 2pm if we wanted sweets . Obviously cancelled drinks and coffee order at this point. Extremely disappointing that 3 courses were not available in the timescale we were there. Doubt if I would return any time soon === especially if a large party.

Was here again on Tuesday the 2nd of August and the meal was absolutely fantastic - AGAIN! I had the Won Ton soup (marvellous!) and the beef Ho Fan noodle (fabulous!). I cannot fault the service or the food - I would highly recommend the beef Ho Fan, really wonderul. This place is always busy and I totally understand why - I just wish I lived a bit closer so I could order takeaway regularly....I would honestly say the Cotton House is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in apart from the Lychee Oriental in Mitchell Street, Glasgow but it is a very close second!

Used to be really special now seemed a bit mediocre like a seemed a bit flat. Had better takeaways from other restaurants the Tea house is better hands down. The servers seemed a bit grumpy and to be honest I would not rush back to the cotton house.

Got the wrong order . Thai red curry instead of Thai green curry. This happened the last time too definitely prefer the Tea House

food was good staff really nice, lovely atmosphere the only downside was we felt rushed at the end of our meal or i would’ve gave it 5 stars

Been trying to go to this place for awhile always booked up which says a lot and mobbed for takeaways .Food didn’t disappoint or the service when i got home was looking at menu for next visit .Brilliant

Ordered a takeway on a busy Friday night. Called at 4.30 and waited in the queue. Asked the bloke who answered whether I could order now for pickup just after 5. Was told that the best way to order is to download the app and ignore the collection time (which was 6.10), but put the time I want to collect it into the comments section. Asked if 5.15 was OK and was told if the order value was below £30 that would be fine, but above £30 it would be 5.30.Brilliant.Ordered £32 worth of Chinese food and sent OH off to collect between 5.20 and 5.30. Arrived only to be told the order wouldn't be ready until 6.10. OH explained the conversation with member of staff and was told that it would be put through immediately (5.10) and ready in 20 minutes. Very sorry.Brilliant.OH waited until appointed time. Still not ready. Appointed time comes and goes. Told that oops, it actually wasn't ordered at 5.10 but would order now but wouldn't be ready until 6.Not at all brilliant.Have been looking for a way to contact them to let them know how utterly crap this service is but no method of doing so unless we want to wait in the telephone queue for god knows how long to be told that no-one is available. No email address, no feedback form.They rely on their good name locally but really this is not good enough.

The food is mostly lovely, however every other week the prawn crackers are missing from delivery!!!! At £2.30 a time this is a nice profit. Reckon I am owed a free meal in prawn cracker refunds due. DONT PAY FOR PRAWN CRACKERS.

Heard about this wee place so we decided to take a drive and try it out. The satay was ok we all give that a 6 out of 10 . The curry was a good 9 the beef was superb and the chicken breast superb. Sweet and sour Cantonese style also a good 9. Overall we all said 100% go back.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. As you wait to be seated you are looking at beautiful fish and corals in a large marine fish tank. Its fab. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great ambience. The service is attentive and efficient, they have many waiting staff just gliding around that place as its very busy. The food is extraordinarily good. Its modern and lighter than more traditional restaurants. I went back for a takeaway a couple weeks after our visit and again it was fabulous. I will return here over and over again, so glad I found it. To me, this is the perfect restaurant

Friday 1st October, 6 of us enjoyed a very tasty lunch in lovely clean surroundings. However what a pity the initial ‘welcome’ left a very bitter taste. We had booked well in advance (17 th sept.... after 8 attempts to have our telephone call answered, trying at different times of the day & evening, I was placed number 13 in the queue) A young male answered and booked our table for 12.30.Imagine how we felt on arrival to be curtly told repeatedly by the employee that No booking had been made! Indeed she was extremely rude and accused me of pointing at her. I took exception to her confrontational accusations which were totally untrue. I showed her my phone records which proved she was totally wrong. She then told me ‘ take a seat’ she would investigate! Our bill for the lunch came to just short of £100. This employee seriously needs to go on a Customer courtesy training course in the meantime she should be kept away from the public.I cannot emphasis enough how nasty this individual was. This is the very first time I have ever written a complaining revue.

Knowing that this place was almost always busy, we booked in advance. On arrival, we only had to wait for a minute or so until our table was ready. Once in our seats we were quickly attended to with drinks etc. Our orders were taken shortly afterwards and arrived in good time. Massive portions, and very tasty. The staff were always nearby if they were needed, but not 'In your face'. The food was plentiful and well presented and the staff when we spoke to them were polite and nothing was too much trouble. We will go back again, without doubt.

Visited The Cotton House for the first time. It was very busy. The attention to detail regarding Covid-19 was clear and registering our visit was easy. We were shown to our table and offered menu by very friendly staff. The service was prompt and staff very respectful. The food was amazing. We were initially given prawn crackers. The crispy beef, chicken curry and fried rice were in plentiful supply and very tasty. The apple and cinnamon pie was served with ice cream-delucious. The pineapple fritter was also very nice. I would highly recommend this restaurant on the basis of excellent food, customer service and friendly environment. There is also a takeaway service provided.Can’t wait to go back.

I phoned for a delivery and was advised this would be an hour. I called back nearly 2 hours later and was advised this “wouldn’t be long”. Waiting over 2 hours for a delivery only 10 minutes away is shocking.

We've been to the cotton house on several occasions. Never had a bad meal always tasty staff are brilliant chicken satay to die for really can't fault this place it's spotless great staff and amazing food

The restaurant was well laid out for Covid and we were able to check in with my phone. The tables were a good distance apart, so felt quite comfortable.Staff were nice, attentive and busy.Our food was well presented, hot and very tasty. really enjoyed the meal and would have liked to relax and stay a bit longer. However the family of 5 at the next table were unbelievable, all on their phones throughout the meal, Shouting comments to each other to pass information to people in the other phone conversations and generally noisy and ill mannered. Even when the food came it was like sitting beside pigs eating from a trough. Not the restaurants fault but we were happy to get away from what could have been a nice relaxing meal but was spoiled by people with no manner or consideration for others.

Ordered a selection of dishes - all bland and tasteless - meat had a piece of bone in also - the staff answer was that they would let the kitchen know and if you like food with more taste ask for chillies !? Wrong order also from what I ordered - lost customer won’t be back - duty manager was not prepared to resolve and eventually gave up - overpriced also.Better Chinese options elsewhere - best avoided - would give zero feedback if could but reluctantly had to tick one !!!

This was a lovely restaurant with nice decor, friendly staff and very quick service, the food was good and the chicken satay has to be tried!!

Last night my wife took me to the Cotton House for the first time for my 67th Birthday.It will be the last time we visit here. I'm not one for complaining but this cannot go unmentioned.The Starters of garlic mushrooms were greasy but tasty enough.My wife opted for Chicken chow Mein, which was overloaded with soy sauce, so much so she couldn't eat it because the soy sauce overpowered the food.I opted for the Pot Buddist delight, this has to be one of the most tasteless meals i have ever had, it was full of veg but no seasoning and i mean no seasoning, This was such a dissapointment as we heard some good reviews about this place.When asked if everything was ok i had to say, no.As i said i am not one for complaining but this was awful. Will not be back.

My food was ready for collection at time mentioned when ordering. Very tasty, great menu. Bags for carrying food are fine. I will return to this restaurant.

Don't normally write reviews but this is the second time I hav had a poor takeaway meal recently Chips were like reheats. ie the day before chips in the fryer again. Daughter said, dad it's because we order too early in the evening you get them like that. Doesn't matter what time you order, you should get fresh cooked food.Chicken curry. Chicken overcooked and sauce way too thick. (Yesterday's)?Fried rice. Some grains bit chewy. Prawn toast nice but a bit soggy bottom. Spicy wings. Disappointing. Squid very nice.

The Cotton House was recommended by the owners of the cottage we were staying in. Our meal took around 50 minutes from time of call to be delivered which was fine and food was delivered hot. Delivery driver phoned me when he arrived to check which cottage we were in. Driver was very friendly. We ordered 4 different dishes and each one was amazing. Very impressed with the taste and presentation. Well worth a try and prices reasonable. Wish we lived nearby!

We were really looking forward to our first meal inside a restaurant for months. Throughout these difficult times, the one thing you would think restaurants would do is make sure every dish is on point. Tasty, well presented, hot and everything you would hope for. Unfortunately not in this case. One starter was great. The other two were not great, probably because nothing was served hot enough from the kitchen. Mains were even worse. Not hot and completely devoid of taste. I paid the bill in full. Left a tip and left. No point in front of other diners having a conversation about my terrible meal. Sorry, but never again.

Ordered from here many times just got a delivery 16.40 2 portions spare ribs was very burnt and not very much there at all been buying from here for years but dissapointed

Pre booked lunch for a Friday afternoon. We were shown to our table, which was covid friendly with perspex partitions and asked if only from two households. We had the choice of the lunchtime menu all chose 2 starters, and 2 mains. All the food was, as always, excellent with great service and value.

Went here for my husband’s birthday dinner. Due to the change in the COVID restrictions I had to change our reservation to the day before his birthday. The staff were really helpful and squeezed us in despite being very busy. However, the restaurant wasn’t that busy and we were able to stay at the table longer than the allocated two hours. I was actually a little disappointed in the food and service, having been recommended by a number of people I expected better. But on the whole the food was good and plentiful. The service was ok but could have been better. The most important thing was that we all had a good time and hubby enjoyed his ‘pre-birthday’ dinner!

Visited as a group of 6 men. Discriminated against immediately because of our gender. Apparently 6 men cannot come from 2 households according to the staff. Where asked to provide letters with our addresses which is ridiculous when out for a meal. Will not be back. Appalling attitude.

Visited on Sunday at 5:30 pm , carpark full so obviously busy .Family of 4 visit for birthday meal ,starters all round ,spare ribs ,salt n pepper squid ,crispy duck,salt n pepper chicken balls ,all were very nice and served quickly,mains were chicken curry ,chicken chow mein,sweet n sour chicken and Malaysian land ,fried rice and boiled rice ,again all good was excellent, hot and served in good time , restaurant was very busy and testament to having a very good reputation for the quality of food and it's good reputation,I highly recommend this restaurant if you are a Chinese food lover .

be carful what you drink i was reported to police after a meal and a pint and driving home only people who could have seen me and what i was driving is staff has any one else had this issue needs addressing

the wife and i went for lunch today,this was my first visit.. the wife has been a few times with friends friendly staff,quick service without feeling rushed... i had the bbq spare ribs.. wife had Thai spring rolls to start both very tasty for main i had the shredded crispy beef with noodles,wife had chicken fried rice and a side of curry sauce... all great and tasty will defo be back

Having just visited this restaurant for lunch, we have been here before many months ago with no issues, however today was a different story, too make this review quick and precise, please avoid the chicken especially in the curry and chow mien, In our opinion it’s cheap, rubbish, poor quality poultry.......Avoid...........

Spent a very pleasant afternoon here with friends. For a buffet, there was a good selection of meals for both adults and children. The staff were very friendly too. An ideal place for families and good value for money.

I booked a table several weeks in advance to celebrate my husband's birthday. The booking included my son who is in a wheelchair and his partner (we booked in advance to make sure we got a table that had room for a wheelchair and I phoned the evening before going just to make sure). On arrival a car was parked right at the bottom of the ramp, although we did just manage to get the chair past. (Apparently there is a parking space there). We had our starter which was lovely, then my son asked where the disabled toilet was. He had to sit and wait for ten minutes whist several waiters moved high chairs, spare tables and all sorts out of the disabled toilet which looked like it was just used as a storeroom!! My son said he felt humiliated and a bother. We carried on eating our meal which was lovely but the occasion was somewhat spoiled. I think for a place like this, it is a bad show, we haven't been for a while but won't be rushing back.

I’ve only heard good reports about this place. Had never been before until I went out with colleagues last month and the service and food was amazing. Quick to serve us and we even got boxes to take our left overs home with us. Food is delicious with such amazing flavours.

Ordered a take away as the sit in meals are usually fab.Arrived on time and nice flavours but the chicken satay had virtually no sauce which made the dish really dry. Literally just a scraping of sauce in the bottom of the silver tray. We had asked for extra as one of our company likes a lot of sauce but sadly that didn’t arrive.Same story with takeaways the effort is never the same.Everyone else dishes were nice.

We booked a meal for two on the thursday then changed it for a table for four,decided to invite some family members. We have been a few times but it was a first for our family. We had a nice table,the waitress was very friendly and nice,and as usual the food was excellent. We had drinks too. All in all between the surroundings,the staff,the atmosphere and the food,it was a super experience.

Loved every single thing we had. Would recommend the prawn wontons and crispy chilli beef! Will be back soon.

What can I say this was by far the most beautiful Chinese food I've ever had. Staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. Really busy but I can see why. Our visit to this premises was my birthday treat. Every single element of our evening was superb.The staff are brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable and appropriately attentive.The food is among the best Asian cuisine I have tasted in the UK. Probably best to reserve a table, as the restaurant appears busy most days. Great venue for lunch, dinner and special occasions. Highly recommended.

Had a birthday dinner last night and the two people who ate the scallops have both been up all night being sick! Phoned to make them aware of this, not looking for anything just to let them know that maybe their scallops were a bit dodgy and the defensive attitude to the call simply made the situation worse. Rather than saying thanks for letting us know, we will look into it, a plethora of other excuses was offered. Food was ok but agree with others that it has gone downhill a bit recently and portion sizes are definitely shrinking as well.

We ordered a takeaway last night and the food was definitely not as good as it used to be. The restaurant was very busy as usual and the staff were friendly but I don’t think we’ll be back because there are lots of better places to eat.

Some excellent reviews on here took us to the Cotton House, but our experience was poor I'm afraid.

My self and a group of my friends(17)went to the cotton house for dinner, the food was to a very high standard, drinks range was extensive, the service was first class, overall an awesome experience, I called a few weeks before and the person that helped me with the booking(Lim possibly) was totally professional in helping me arrange the seating for my party of friends.

This venue has been refurbished and was stunning. The decor was unique, surprising and created a lovely, interesting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive but not overly intrusive. The menu was extensive, food well cooked and presented, very tasty and generous portions. We even received 'presents' before leaving of calendars. Well worth a visit and reasonably priced too. Highly recommended!

First visit and would highly recommend. Went here for a family celebration for my husbands 40th. Staff were friendly and attentive. We had our own private area with large table for 9. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the chicken satay. Will be back again soon.

Family visit and first time since their refurbishment. The place is fresh and welcoming the staff were very friendly and efficient as ever.

Tried for weeks to book this restaurant failing many times to get something other than an engaged tone on the telephone. After the long wait disappointed with the fare which included very hard won ton, destroyed bed of lettuce, quite greasy fish cakes and a most insipid base in the Thai red curry. Service was two tier! Inexperienced young staff on table service and very stiff and cool service from the qualified ethnic senior people who delivered the food. Good wine list and reasonable prices all round though. Unlucky to book on a night when a bigger than average attendance comprised children in the under 10 bracket, which would have been fine except for their belief they were in the school playground. The sister restaurant in Larbert the Tea House is superior to this.

Had a takeaway from here last night. Took age's to get through on the phone. The food was nothing special given it was about £7 dearer than anywhere else. Had combination satay, burnt hard lumps of chicken on skewers and a king prawn kung pao, nothing wrong with it, just average. Won't be back Cotton house.

Came here for lunch with my son and daughter. Portions were very generous and delicious 😋. It was very busy however we were served our food immediately. Will be back for sure.

Really good food but delivery took ages and it took ages to get the phone answered- maybe some more phone lines? But its so busy because the food is so good!!

This was the second visit since the refurbishment and something (not sure what) was not as good as usual. Staff all friendly and professional, food good but we noticed the portion size is slightly smaller than previous visit's.

The food, service and surroundings at The Cotton House consistently deliver. You never have to ask for anything twice every order and service is first class you can see why you have to book weeks in advance to get a table.

Haven't been here for a while, heard it had been refurbished. Dining area feels much more spacious, and as usual the service was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful.

Turned up at 13:30 as the Facebook page indicated lunch is served between 12 and 2pm. When we confirmed that we hadn't booked we were told by the non welcoming member of staff that whilst he would see if he could get us a table, if one was available we would only be offered a starter and main as "we close at 2pm". What if we said Ok to a table, were we expected to speed eat?? Were you planning on throwing both courses at us in less than 30 mins?

Wanted to try this carry out for years finally went tonight ... if you can’t get the fried rice right what chance have you got with everything else .. the rice was bone dry and was like a microwave from farmfoods....the chicken balls .. the batter was raw in the middle all slimy and I put them in the oven and they were rank .. sorry guys you want to read the negative reviews and get your act together

Been wanting to trying the tea house for ages eventually got the time to go and a will definitely a will be back we had the noodles soup barbecue ribs And spicy chicken wings to start fantastic cleated the plate and the best chicken curry ave had in a long time well done tea house keep up the good work

Our absolutely favourite place to go, very cheap lunch menu, catering well to parties/groups aswel as couples, very attentive friendly staff, very clean, food is spot on every time! 1000/10!

Had a table booked for 7.30 on Saturday night . Arrived but could hardly get into the place for people waiting for takeaways. Just had a refurb but not thought out properly as it was chaotic. The table was not ready and because of the crowd no where to wait. We had to stand at the bar area which meant we were in the way of the staff a bit.

Went for lunch £11 , good value , food was amazing, the new decoration is stunning feels like a completely different restaurant. The staff are always friendly so no complaints what so ever, need to book now even for lunch

Thought I’d write a review of this place but the funny thing is didn’t even get to sit down turned up yesterday as was told to try it by wife’s pal so we headed through for 3 pm ish we got parked and headed in we were asked a table for how many we said 2 then young girl said can’t fully booked 1. Why did she ask how many for? 2. We could see a couple of empty tables and ? 3 . Her attitude was shocking . Glad we didn’t go here as mango up from it was lovely we will definitely not be travelling through to this place especially again after young girls attitude

The Cotton House is simply amazing. Newly refurbished, the restaurant is lovely and the food is gorgeous. Have had deliveries from the takeaway and have never been disappointed. Would highly recommend The Cotton House- you will not be disappointed!

Booked a table four days in advance for four people at 6pm, when we arrived at 6pm the girl who greeted us and took our details seemed to be confused about where our table was located, it was obvious that the table we had been allocated at the time of booking and was marked down on her booking sheet had been given to someone else. After some discussion with other staff she then offered us a table which was next to the reception area and in direct line of the front door, when we asked to be seated elsewhere she said we would have to speak to the manager, the managers attitude was "take it or leave it" and the way she tried to explain the situation made it even more obvious that anybody who had been offered that table before us had refused it as we had and were given an alternative and more suitable table (probably ours). We even said that we were willing to wait until another table became available but the managers attitude did not change. We decided to leave and go somewhere more friendly and accommodating for a meal. We had frequented the Cotton house on several occasions before and were looking forward to seeing how the new refurbished restaurant looked, sadly after that experience we will never know as we won't be back.

very busy restaurant - which seems to demonstrate its standing. We went early on a Saturday which seems to be a popular time for the Carry Out in this area. Consequently had to nudge our way through a very busy waiting area to get to the restaurant itself - this also presented problems with parking.

Went here for dinner last night as usual meal was yummy lovely new decor best food around this area will be back

Been coming here for my Chinese meals (sit in and takeaway) for many years and consider it one of the best.

Nice visit with my wife, brother and sister n Law, first visit and I’ll certainly be back again one day. The food was lovely, very tasty and cooked well. Left very full and satisfied. I’m always happy to pay for something if it’s worth it and I can’t fault what we got last night.

Arrived at 4.30 to celebrate a Friend’s birthday, service was very slow, wine arrived quite quickly. However, had to wait nearly half an hour for water. Eventually food arrived, which was as usual delicious. At 5.50 approached and asked if we’d like desserts and tea/coffee. Advised yes, given menus and approached again at about 5.55 and advised that they needed the table back as it was booked out and if we wanted desserts etc it would need to be in the takeaway area. Shocked was an understatement. The staff member was very abrupt and her mannerisms left a lot to be desired. One of my Friends’ asked to speak with the Manager and was advised by said member of staff that they were the Manager. My Friend attempted to explain that the service was poor etc and it was through no fault of our own that we had just finished. The member of staff said sorry I’ll pass on to my Team, end off. Abrupt and rudely asked do you want desserts, but you need to move now. We asked for the bill and left for the Glenskirlie who welcomed our custom, even though it was just for desserts, coffee and a few drinks. Think wisely before coming for what can only be explained as buffet style customer service.

Just visited on Saturday afternoon, the first time since it has reopened after refurbishment. The setting is vastly improved and the food was as before freshly cooked and tasty. The waiter service was very slow and a bit disarray with staff not coordinated and no supervisory overseeing. Customers clearly finished their courses but staff walking by oblivious at times not paying attention.

Never been here before and it was a family get together. Food was great, service was excellent and I thoroughly recommend it. Great atmosphere. Was really busy for a Wednesday night and had to be booked in advance. I think that speaks volumes!

OK place to eat - food served quickly after ordering. Felt a bit rushed at the end of our meal as were were pre-theatre and the table was needed as soon as the last spoonful of dessert was scoffed. That was a bit off but we were warned.

Visited for the first time but won’t be the last. Following a recent refurbishment the restaurant reopened a couple of weeks ago and did not disappoint. The decor, the waiting staff and the food were all excellent.we hadn’t been able to book in advance but the young lady at front of house was able to accommodate as we were just 2 . Ample staff and the service was spot on. Food was warm and delicious and by the number of people waiting for seats and take out orders the kitchen must be in overdrive. We traveled from Glasgow on recommendation and glad we made the effort.

Recently reopened after refurbishement. Must book in advance. Friendly and attentive staff. Good menu choice and we found the service to be quick. Did make a mistake with my order and offered to replace my meal when realised. I'm not the greatest fan of Chinese food, but The Cotton House is the exception and I will be back.

A hidden gem a bit outside of tourist flooded areas! Delicious food with vegetarian options, very nice from the inside, good and sufficient parking spots. Staff is fast and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!
