I used to frequently visit here and loved it. Simply amazing scones. Unfortunately in the last month or so the scores have not been anywhere near as nice and have been quite dry. The portions of jam you get are decreasing.I'm hoping things pick up again otherwise I will have to look elsewhere and I will miss the nice scones.

The Cosy Chair is a haven with a fantastic selection of freshly home baked delights in comfortable, welcoming, peaceful surroundings. I like to come here on my own (well with a book/magazine) & choose something fabulous to go with my coffee. It is a complete treat. Parking can sometimes be tricky in this busy wee village and sometimes the opening hours can catch you off guard but it’s utterly delightful.Gorgeous crockery provides that extra special touch. Definitely worth a visit.

After months of hearing how good the vegan scones are at The Cosy Chair, I eventually made a visit and wasn’t disappointed. I spend many days tagging along with my husband who considers himself a bit of a ‘sconoisseur’ where I usually only manage coffee so this place is vegan heaven! They serve soya milk, almond, and coconut, imagine have a choice, fantastic. Their vegan scone choice is different every day but on this occasion, they had chocolate orange or raspberry white chocolate, I chose the chocolate orange and it was absolutely amazing. Who knew that coffee and scone could be so satisfying but it was, from the fantastically friendly service the comfy chairs I could not fault my new vegan scone adventure in the least. It’s actually possible to buy the vegan scones by the dozen, in any combination of flavours which can be frozen and enjoyed with a cup of coffee at home. What a great service. Not to forget about my scone loving husband, he declared his scone was up there with the best, he had crunchy toffee apple which looked like a meal on its own. I can’t wait for our next visit for a delicious scone and coffee and hopefully a carryout of a dozen scones to freeze.

Lovely time spent at Cosy chair having tea and scones. Scones were full of cherries and really fresh plus huge! Tea served in beautiful tea pot with lovely mugs and more than enough tea to have a top up. Staff and service excellent plus choice of food great. Would like to see the scones covered as they sit on the counter with everyone walking close to them but it’s a small thing. Lovely place and ambience with things at a good price that leaves Costa and all those other coffee shops shamed and miles behind!

Absolutley amazing staff. Due to my baby's multiple allergies i have a very restrictive diet. Not only is every thing made on site but the staff went out of their way to research what was in foods to ensure I could safely eat there. In addition to this they specifically made allergy friendly foods for my return visit. They absolutley made my christmas with dairy free and soy free shortbread and scones. Can't wait to go back and would highly recommend to anyone with allergies. I wish more places like this existed. 5 stars!! 100% recommend. Atmosphere and friendliness also second to none!!

There is a lovely choice of home baked goods - cakes, traybakes, scones and shortbread. As a coeliac, I knew they usually have a good choice of gluten free items and I wasn't disappointed today. There were several different types of scones, shortbread, and choice of traybakes. I chose a peanut butter blondie traybake which was delicious. First thing is, this pleasant enough little café doesn't really do lunch etc – it’s really a tea-and-sticky-bun kind of place. The only savoury snack they do is soup (usually two varieties, with a couple of little slices of possibly homemade bread, eg with olives or sun dried tomatoes and herbs), but there is a big selection of cakes and other sweet things.

My mum and I visited The Cosy Chair for the first time today on the recommendation of a number of people and I think we’ve found a new favourite spot. It is quaint, warm and welcoming and there are so many delicious looking treats on offer that it’s hard to choose what to go for. We both opted for apple and cinnamon scones which were gorgeous and we shared a Rocky Road tray bake (more than big enough for two) which was similarly delicious. We ordered two teas and each got two mugs of tea out of the large teapot that we were given. This all came to £8.40 which we thought was excellent value. Glad we’ve discovered this little gem of a place: we’ll definitely be back soon.

In these days of trendy coffee shops it's nice to have an alternative. The Cost Chair is partially that. It has a slightly old fashioned feel but that is meant as a compliment. A big thank you to Kenya and all the staff at Cosy Chair for making an amazing selection of cupcakes for our wedding - they looked and tasted fab and were a lovely treat for our guests. The cupcakes were freshly prepared on the morning of the wedding and available for pick up as scheduled in advance. Service couldn't have been better, they even helped my new husband to the car with all the boxes. On the morning of our wedding, the bridal party had scones, fresh cream and jam which were another hit and a lovely addition to our special morning. I had coffee and scone at the Cosy Chairi this morning. I was very surprised to find out, after ordering, that is was cash only. No worries, I wilĺ just run to the cash point in the rain. When we arrived, we stood for a minute or so and then took a seat. After five minutes, a staff member approached out table and asked if we had been before. I had, about two years ago, I was, I think, dismissively told it was counter service only. I really did not find the Cosy Chair to be welcoming or friendly. Not a good experience.

We stopped in here for lunch and, whilst the selection isn’t vast, the quality is high. I had a bowl of tomato and pepper soup accompanied by 2 pieces of bread, which was delicious. My wife had lentil soup and she said the same. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the raspberry and white chocolate scone. It was great that we were well informed of dairy free options, all the soups were grand. It was a shame none of the treats were too. I was able to enjoy a plain scone and butter after lunch with a coffee, but wife wasn’t able to as there was no dairy free “treat” available. All in all, a solid, comfortable and tasty trip.

Seen the reviews for here and thought, hey it would be nice to take my wife there for a nice coffee and a scone. Disappointed from the moment we walked through the door, now think of an old western time saloon where a cowboy walks in and everyone stops what they're doing to stare at him, well this was what it was like for my wife and I, felt like we walked into someones house uninvited, even the two girls behind the counter just stood and stared at us. Awkward!!! And so much for the "scones to die for" which someone left in another review, to say they were rotten is being generous, both our scones were like soggy dough. Safe to say we won't be back, better and cheaper sticking to your local Spar for a scone and coffee, and maybe you'll get service with a smile.

Took my fiancée to the cosy chair for afternoon tea for her birthday. We both loved it, we got soup to start and then a hot drink and selection of buns and scones. The interior is lovely and the service is excellent. One thing to note is that they don't accept card payments myself and another were caught out by this. Cash machine down the road, so no issue.Would highly recommend!

You know I'm immensely proud of the Irish blood that flow's through an otherwise quite English body and The Cosy Chair sort of exemplifies the best of both. Now I'm assuming that taking tea is an English thing which it might or might not be but drinking nice tea from a nice mug and a huge pot of really good tea is what you get at The Cosy Chair and the cakes, Oh wow the cakes, they do them so very well.If you don't visit here you're bonkers. This is a true blend of the very best of worlds, wonderful Irish manners and sophistication, that to my mind anyway have bumped up and surpassed a very English translation... taking tea.

Called in here for coffee with a friend and neither of us could resist the tempting array of freshly baked cakes and buns. Everything looks so delicious and is reasonably priced. Service was excellent and we both agreed we will be making regular visits to The Cosy Chair as the tempting delights they serve here taste every bit as good as they look!

A delightful café which is a step back in time - in a good way. The décor is cosy & welcoming with cerise pink upholstered chairs and traditional pink & white china - a world away from the average café today! They serve lovely soup and bread which we always have and a selection of cakes and tray bakes and tea / coffee. It would be nice (from a personal point of view ) to see a couple more savoury options on the menu as that is what we would usually choose when we go out. However I appreciate that tea /coffee and cake is their speciality and they do it well.

So cute and cosey! Great for relaxing for a while or even just stopping in for a cup of tea! Good prices, fresh buns, cake, scones you name it! The soup is also always lovely no matter which it is as I get it anytime that I go! It's really homely and has very pretty inside. I love the cups and plates they serve on also!

I have been to this fantistic coffee shop. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It has that lovely cosy old fashioned look and only china cups, plates, tea pots and plates are used. I will definitely be back to sample sone of the mouth watering cakes that are for sale.
